I helped move my friend into her new apartment nearby so we had to find her new local coffee spot and this is totally it. What a cute and fun cafe! The employees were friendly, the vibe was fun, and the coffee was delicious. I ordered a lavender honey latte with oat milk. I typically find these to be too heavy on the lavender but this was the perfect ratio of flavors. My friend enjoyed her pistachio latte! My son wanted coffee too, so they gave him a small cup of whipped cream which was sweet. They have a decent sized menu with great options. We ordered egg bites which everyone enjoyed. There are only a few tables inside with some stools set up at the window. It's small but there is space outside too. They have a window you can order at on the side of the building. Love Red June! Slowly becoming a regular at this cafe because the breakfast sandwiches are elite AND the coffee is really very good. I also am obsessed with the fact that with every breakfast entree you get a cup of fresh fruit. I've tried BECs a couple of times and most recently a breakfast burrito, which was also very good and the perfect breakfast to take on an early morning road trip. The iced pistachio latte is a must have! The staff are always so wonderful, with amazing service, and everything here is good actually (doughnuts, etc.) The indoor and outdoor seating is limited, and the shop gets pretty busy on the weekends, so be prepared for that. One last thing that I love about Red June is that they have a walk-up window that you can order from, which makes being on the go that much easier. Great coffee spot in Bucktown. Walk over to this joint or find free parking close by. We drove and scored a spot near by. It's a small, but quaint space with a handful of seating inside and outside. It's dog friendly with a window on the outside to pick up a pup cup. We ordered a few of the special coffees including the pistachio latte. For breakfast, we got the breakfast burrito and the turkey Gouda on a croissant. All meals came with fresh fruit and chips. Huge portions! To go, I got a pistachio donut. Yummy! Plan on spending at minimum 30 mins to order and get your treats. Not too many individuals making drinks or food. The only downside to our quick stop in for breakfast. read more

Red June Cafe has a convenient system of ordering at a window. Lines can be kind of long, especially in mornings. The prices aren't horribly high for this kind of place. Best place for outdoors breakfast in Bucktown. It has very limited seating, so if it's busy you may have to take it to go. This is just a small place at the corner of Leavitt and McLean. No indoor dining. Only a few outdoor chairs and tables. It's about $6 for a coffee. Last time I had the Cinnamon Vanilla Oatmilk Latte. It's non dairy. This was a good coffee but it was pretty small. For food I had the Sweet Toast because it was among the few vegan breakfast choices. It's $7 for a couple pieces. This has a choice of almond butter or Nutella as spreads. I got the almond butter. This also comes with almond flakes, bananas, and the honey which I left off. Good, but again just a couple slices with light topping, so not a big meal at breakfast. This place is good for light breakfast and lunch. Has lots more to choose from. It also has fruit smoothies if wanting something cold. There's also lunch choices such as sandwiches. read more

I love this place in the neighborhood. It has a great vibe. I usually just come here to get coffee. I did just that. And I ended up talking to another customer for about an hour. She has lived in many places and one job she had was running the exhibit at the TWA Hotel at JFK. I have never been but she recommended that I go next time i'm b/w flights! I love how this establishment has all kinds of signs all over the place - even in the restroom! The employees are very friendly too and that is a big plus! Had to go to work around Bucktown and was looking for a coffee shop. I saw Starbucks but I'm trying to support small businesses as much as I can so when I Google and came across this shop, I know that I had to stop by here. I was actually wanting to try their coffee but when I saw the menu and they have a dragon fruit smoothie, I instantly just ordered that. Hey, it's best to get healthy right? Omg! It tasted soooo good. There's also coconut flake on the top and it made the drink taste yummier (in my opinion!). I also got their blueberry muffin. It's moist and not too sweet which I love. Price wise I think its reasonable. $10 for dragon fruit smoothie and a blueberrie muffin is definitely worth the $$. Will be back here again for the smoothie. read more

Recently moved to the area and stumbled across this little cafe. The inside of the restaurant is small but the patio is a solid spot to have a quick breakfast. We got the build your own croissant sandwich, a croissant, a s'mores ice latte and a dulce de leche ice latte. The breakfast burrito is a go-to takeout order for me. I've ordered it at least a couple times a month for the past few years, and it's my favorite To Go breakfast in the area. Though unadvertised, you always get a fruit cup (always heavy on grapes-- my fave) and they throw a couple handfuls of tortilla strip chips (think Mission) into the bottom of the bag along with sour cream and salsa in sauce canisters. The burrito itself is huge. There's some inaccurate info in many of the reviews here: the default burrito is just sausage, egg, cheese, and shredded hash browns. Red onions and Sriracha are available as add ons but you have to ask for them (and I prefer it without, so I don't). The burrito is egg and sausage heavy, and depending on the whims of who makes it you'll get more of one or the other, but the hashbrowns always run a distant third. So you're guaranteed a lot of protein either way the fates fall. It's extremely hefty and most people could probably split it, though you may not want to give it up! Wait time after ordering is always long (10 minutes or so, usually), that's just how it is. But your burrito is being constructed fresh for you while you wait. You can order from the window outside or at the counter inside. If you want to eat in, several uncovered metal picnic tables are set up outside the external order window for waiting or eating, and there are a few tables inside along with a counter along the window, though it is not a large dining area. read more

What A Gem The coffee cake was so fresh and full of pecan flavor! We ordered a BYO Breakfast Egg Sandwich, Jenn's Chicken Salad and Oatmeal smoothie. The Breakfast Egg Sandwich was the perfect side and so delicious! If i could change anything, I'd add the option to add green or red salsa for a kick of flavor. Jenn's Chicken Salad was also the perfect size and a 10/10! The Oatmeal smoothie was also good, but could a little more honey. We got a fruit cup & potato chips with our sandwiches which were great to snack on in between bites. In addition,the staff is so welcoming, knowledgeable and full of joy! The atmosphere is cozy and there is also outdoor seating available with a cute little walk-up window to order if you don't want to go inside. One of the ladies noticed we enjoyed the coffee cake so much that she gave us another piece before we left! I'm so glad we stumbled upon this cafe, it didn't disappoint one bit. You definitely should get their sriracha with it because it is incredible. This is such a cute breakfast cafe! I haven't been inside (because they have a window that you can order from instead of going inside). It's a nice neighborhood place to come and have breakfast, very dog and baby friendly. There are many different options, different toasts, bagels, burritos, drinks like smoothies, lattes, cappuccinos, coffees. I ordered the avocado toast, which is super good. It is toast topped with avocado spread, fresh strawberries, and red onions! I also ordered the fruit smoothie (strawberries, bananas, blueberries and orange juice) which is very refreshing. In the city, near Bucktown running some errands, my hubby and I looked for the nearest coffee shop...on Yelp of course...and Red June was at the top of the search list. We decided to check it out. This cutie pie coffee/sandwich/smoothie/neighborhood gem had a little bit of everything on its menu, including Julius Meinl coffee, which was a happy surprise. Red June is in a former old grocery from the past (pretty sure). The vibe is super chill with a retro artsy decor. There's a room in the back with a few tables, and there are a few tables up front for those who don't mind a more public seat. They have very limited seating. The menu has breakfast items, lunch sandwiches, smoothies, baked goods from Roeser's Bakery and coffee (duh). We ordered up a couple of sprinkle donuts for our kiddos. They looked delicious, but those were some pretty pricey donuts. I think the donuts were approximately $3 each, and that really caught us off guard. Came in after a very long day and Two coffee mix ups. First time here and I'm glad I stopped by. They have a large selection of food items and drinks. I decided on a vanilla soy latte. It was great, smooth texture and not too sweet. Me and the barista were having a great convo. She was excellent and knew her knowledge on products they serve along with good latte recommendations. My new favorite, tucked-away, hidden, top-secret coffee-tea-acai shop! What a perfect cup of Julius Meinl espresso. Unique sandwiches and salads looked excellent, plenty of fresh fruit in the cup, and the rest of the menu has a little something for everybody. When I was here, the very friendly, professional staff were brewing a berry-flavored tea which smelled almost like a blueberry cupcake and was sure to attract customers if they would to blow that incredible scent out to the street. Fantastic little environment with a hodgepodge of furniture, great local photography, interesting space you can move around and find your own corner in or be part of the conversation. Some of the regular customers came in and had full-on conversations while others came and went quickly thanks to efficient service. While exploring Wicker Park/Buck Town, my friend and I decided to eat at one of the popular brunch spots. Since the wait was unbearable for our rumbling stomachs, we decided to venture further into Buck Town to find an alternative. I noticed Red June wasn't very popular, yet still highly recommended. When I first saw the cafe, I was about to open up my Yelp app again and start hunting for a new spot since I was hesitant about how good their breakfast items would be. However, my stomach was not about to let me trek anymore for food. I decided to order the mini bagels, which came with a fresh fruit bowl. The bagels were topped with a thin layer of cream cheese, tomato, and avocado; it had a light drizzle of olive oil and some black pepper. The fruit bowl consisted of FRESH blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and grapes. The dish was so simple, yet very satisfying. Unlike other eateries, I did not feel overly full and the meal was perfectly portioned. Also the fruit bowl was the freshest fruit bowl I have ever had. I'm so use to getting lame bowls that are filled with overly ripened cantaloupe and honeydew, so I really enjoyed that this bowl was different and fresh. The bagels were so good and I loved the hint of olive oil that I got with each bite. Red June is definitely a hidden gem and will give you healthier brunch items. A+ in my book. read more
