I usually order from them. Last time I ordered the chx cordon blue sliders. Terrible dry, like shoe leather. No sauce, had to throw them out. Ordered childrens turkey dinner, stuffing was bad tasting did not taste like stuffing. Lemon merige pie tasted old. Waste of money for sure. read more

My husband and I were searching for a place to eat close to our hotel in Fishkill. The red line diner along with another diner and some fast food places popped up, so I looked up the menu online for the red line diner and we decided given how late it was, we could go there and have a sandwich. When we got there to say I was pleasantly surprised isn't understatement. The chef specials for the day also came with a recommended wine. We had the chicken with a basil pesto, cherry tomatoes with a balsamic reduction, it was delicious. And to top it off, the desserts were amazing. So we're going back tomorrow for another meal. The ambiance was very nice. Presents with a very clean atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will return. read more

We came to Red Line to meet friends they moved to the area. From the time we walked in the service was prompt and friendly. Our server was helpful and provided great service. The food was really good and the menu had a ton of options. The diner was packed when we got there but we got a table after a short wait. And the food came fairly quickly after we ordered. You get great value here for the quality of food, the price, and the service. Friendly service. Good food. Good bar selection. Good prices. read more

A nice stopover that offer a classic diner experience. We arrived early for our nearby apple picking reservation and were starving for a place to eat. This place caught our eye with its striking retro exterior and bustling crowd at noon. Interestingly, half the interior looked like a 80s diner while the back section looked more like a renovated Chinese restaurant; not sure what the history of this lot is. We didn't have to wait long to get a seat either as the staff seems efficient at moving guests through. Regardless, my friend and I enjoyed classic brunch items like Eggs Benedict and a classic omelet. They tasted great but nothing to rave about. The portions and price impressed us the most though, and made this place a go-to if we're ever in the area again! read more

I have been here numerous times over the years out of convenience, and it was never more that just an okay diner. It's fine if you just want a diner cheeseburger and fries, or a simple omelet. We were seated quickly, although the place was very busy. Service was fast and friendly. I made the mistake of ordering a Pastrami Reuben, which was almost inedible. Gristly, sinewy, messy, tough, and very messy to eat. I ate less than half and got tired of fighting with my lunch, and shoved it away. Obviously cheap Pastrami, sliced too thick and full of fat and gristle. It was really pretty bad. Inedible. The waiter noticed and I just waved him off and shook my head. Not his fault. I don't think I will return here. There are other fair diners in the area, if I need to go to a diner. read more

This place is so good it makes me want to go back and downgrade all my other reviews. The food is amazing. I had the sauerbraten and it was to die for. they have a great selection of margaritas. I am slowly working my way through all of them. The service was absolutely wonderful. Lauren took wonderful care of us, assisted by her helpers. we never had to wait for anything, and yet we never felt rushed or crowded. My second time through and we made a point to revoke here again. The food was very good- again. I recommend the corn beef Reuben. It was packed with goodness. Decadent. And the French fry portions are generous. Desserts are fun and the venu is spotless and welcoming. It's always busy- and for good reason! If you're lucky enough to have Ralph as your server, you know you've hit it big. He is EXCELLENT. He made us feel so welcome and he took such good care of us. The menu is huge- almost overwhelming. I stopped here with my friend for breakfast. Honestly my biggest complaint is that for a bigger restaurant/diner you can't keep a container of non-dairy milk for customers who are dairy-free? This is quite a place! When you walk in, you will be surprised by how huge it is. There is a giant case right in front of you full of delicious looking desserts. We had salads and enjoyed them. This place always has the parking lot full for a reason. The service is prompt and attentive, but they can be a little distant if they get busy. The menu for a diner is extremely large. We stopped at Danbury Fair Mall and were going to grab a bite, but it was too crazy! Instead, we ordered online through YELP! to pick up salads on our way home. Their policy is not to put no napkins, forks, knives, salt, pepper in with the food that is store policy. You must ask for it. I have never heard you have to ask for fork for slice of chocolate cake. I've never heard that you couldn't put napkins in in the food industry because maybe the food gonna be a little bit sloppy but if you wanna order from this freaking dive, then go ahead. Instead of the manager, that's on-call right now at 4:26 PM instead of just say no maybe we should've just put it in. He stood behind his word stating that you need to put in special instructions so if you ever want to order a bowl of soup from there you better put you on a spoon. The Food was delicious ! I had the french onion soup and spinach & strawberry salad. One cousin had the chopped steak it was tender juicy and very good the other had the pork chop plate with mashed potatoes and cream corn. The serving size was big , plenty of food. I got the sweet corn and black beans quesadillas to go, they were delicious. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She catered to our every need. Large group and they made us feel so welcomed. Food was great and the desserts were something to d.... for. Was not my first or last visit.

We were here on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. Ample parking all around the diner. There were 3 of us and we all got something different. Blueberry pancakes were good, my wife had a French toast special which she enjoyed. Our daughter is GF, so she got a Benedict without bread. Overall with the large business that they do, they actually are very organized and attentive to their guests. I would have rated the diner higher if the food was exceptional. It was very ordinary but good. Things like a blueberry compote to adorn the pancakes or offer whipped cream over French toast. This diner is good and you get a good value for your money. read more

Seeing the reviews here at 3-1/2 stars, I wasn't expecting too much. I was happily surprised when I got my pastrami Reuben sandwich on Rye. Damn, that was great. I mean, the pastrami wasn't Carnegie or Katz Deli quality, but it all tasted so great together I was really happy. My wife and daughter were happy enough and it was a nice start to the day. I was surprised the following day though, when my daughter said she didn't really feel like going back here and wanted to try a different place... and my wife agreed. Not sure why. This place the food was delicious. We got the stuffed shrimp and the shrimp scampi . The stuffing made with crab was divine. I have to say that although tasty the scampi was missing something. I added just a touch of salt to enhance the flavor, which I don't add salt to meals when I'm out too often. Yet still a palatable experience since the stuffed crab would be on my top 4 list of eating the dish in different restaurants. I can't give it a 5 because it would be unfair since it lacked the flavor that I adore. read more

I was really too tired to cook but wanted something that felt cozy and comforting, I decided to see what the Red Line Diner had to offer and was sold when I saw the Chicken Madeira. I ordered takeout and received a perfectly packaged meal, in a container that separated the mashed potatoes from the chicken with mushrooms, gravy and asparagus. I was actually really happy that they were kept separate because the gravy was a bit too salty and there was a lot of it. So it would have ruined the buttery, garlic mashed potatoes, which were absolute heaven. The chicken itself was moist and well cooked. You're given two chicken breasts, which was extremely filling. The flavors were just so delightful and the asparagus is one of my favorites. The meal was complimented with a choice of soup or salad and some crusty bread on the side. I had left overs the next day and honestly, it satisfied all of my needs. Besides the gravy being a little too salty, the food was just amazing. Just what I was looking for. read more

We visited Red Line this morning, Ralph was our waiter and he was AWESOME! We had gone to another breakfast place (right next door) the day before and the service was horrible, so actually getting waited on was nice. The good was really good too. I got the eggs Benedict, wife got the Greek omelet, kids got pancakes and French toast...all good, no complaints. Should we ever visit NY again we'll come back here for sure. read more

Typical diner food nothing incredibly unique. We come here so often because the hours are great for late nights. Think the usual BLT or a nice plate of greasy cheese fries. However we always ask for a receipt ever since there was a tipping snafu a couple years back where a waiter had changed our tip to over a hundred dollars on a dinner for two. The manager and my husband had to go back and forth several time to correct the issue. We always keep an eye out since then. read more

Second - all the dishes were delicious and prepared as requested. Example: I ordered steak & lightly poached eggs, which came out without the eggs; waitress explained they'd been over done and the cook was remaking them so they'd be right but didn't want to hold up the rest of our food. Last - one review mentioned RLD is 'pricey'. My comment: you get what you pay for. I'll make it a point to plan to pass by the next time at a mealtime. read more
