I would typically rate Heff's 4 stars, but when the service is this good it's 5 stars! Always friendly! They often go above and beyond. Their burgers are more of a classic style with a thick patty! Their ranch is housemade! Love their twister fries. I asked if I could have the fries less crispy than usual and they gave me exactly what I dreamed of! I am so sick and tired of kids being the only work staff at fast food places. We went to Heff's on Antilley tonight and made the mistake of getting it to go and not looking to make sure they got a Grilled Chicken Salad right. Normally I love this salad, I think it's better than any other in town. Tonight I am not happy! Got there at about 7:30pm, not busy at all, my husband ordered my grilled chicken salad, I was starving and excited about this salad, until I opened the container and first saw about a pound of bacon on it. I noticed a grilled onion when I cut it into smaller bites, it burned my lips and tongue, I thought well that's weird so I proceeded to take a bite, lit my mouth like I ate a blow torch. Jalapeño in a grilled chicken salad? I couldn't eat another bite. Needless to say, I've had 1 bite of food today. I found this establishment after a quick search on my Yelp and decided to pay it a visit. Upon entering was greeted my the young lady at the front, she seemed to be in good spirits and was very helpful and nice. The place itself is well kept and clean and had a real nice atmosphere to it. This place has gone to the dogs! I waited 30 minutes for my food and they weren't even busy and had several people working. When my food came out, the "home style" fries looked like they were cooked yesterday and left under a heat lamp to shrivel up and my burger was made incorrectly. Also, the ventilation is so bad at this location that you leave smelling like a grease pit and it lingers on your clothes all day. I will never eat at this nasty place again. Would be ZERO stars. Got delivery, and was short one order, and all four other orders where wrong. Had to drive back to Heffs, and they didn't want to make anything right. They gave us the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions in a to go container for all the wrong orders. To start off, I have never left a review of a food establishment before... but after my wife and myself had lunch at Heff's today, I felt it necessary. Our meal was $25.40 for a Heff burger combo, a steak finger combo and a side order of onion rings. We were impressed, that's a fair price for what we ordered. When our food arrived, our impression changed. The steak fingers were obviously a pre-made frozen packaged item, barely any breading type cover and they tasted like fried grease. The container of dipping gravy was barely lukewarm. The onion rings were also a pre-made frozen packaged item with very little batter type coating, full of grease and and over cooked to where they were as hard as rocks. My wife's hamburger combo was good, I guess I should have ordered that also. To top it off, we had the pleasure of sitting at a table that literally rocked back and forth every time either of us touched it. My stomach was physically hurting before we finished our meal, I had to take stomach medicine as soon as we returned home to calm it down from the effect of so much fried grease. I used the men's room before we left, it was gross. Who likes to stand in someone else's urine which covered the floor? The soles of my tennis shoes were sticky with whatever was all over the floor, they had to be left in the garage when we returned home. Sorry Heff's, I doubt we will be repeat customers. read more

So my photo taking has gotten NO better, but it is what it is. I think this place has some of the best burgers in town. And the sweet potato fries rock! Maybe being an Austin transplant skews my view on distance, but I don't think anything is far from anywhere in this town. I will gladly drive 15 minutes for good food. I don't know what this "Bucket burger" everyone is talking about is, but I DO know the "Jalapeño Popper" burger rocks my world. Fresh jalapeños and thick cut bacon on a burger, you can't go wrong. 1.) Tried to pick up a to-go order at the drive through window, no one came to the window. Went inside and noticed many of the staff not wearing masks. Not very COVID friendly...young man at counter had no mask on when I went in and decided to put it on after two people were already in line. Every time I go there, usually to pick up lunch for others, I have to ask to get a drink carrier for three to four drinks, ketchup, salt, pepper and napkins, they never put them in the TO-GO bags. 2.) Visited two weeks ago taking customers there for lunch and the table we sat at was dirty and food came out for three of four people one person sat there waiting while the other three ate not wanting their food to get cold??? Five minutes later food came. Don't plan on going there again, will choose another restaurant that can complete an order and keep things clean. Thanks for not caring! At least when customers are in the restaurant wear a freaking mask and keep the counters and tables clean. read more

After hearing from friends of mine about Heff's Burgers, I thought I would give it a try. All I have to say is that the food is amazing along with the friendliness of the employees who were very polite and not to mention the restaurant was very clean with the only con being that it took nearly 30 minutes to get our lunch and the secret sauce was a little too spicy for my tastes. I highly recommend this place if you live or planning to travel to Abilene in the near future and if your a fan of Fuddrucker's than this restaurant is for you. read more

I'm not sure when this restaurant was last cleaned but it's been a very long time! Thought I'd try one last time and I can't give them any more chances. So filthy, I don't think they have any cleaning supplies. The restroom was gross, the tables and floors have not been cleaned since I think they opened. Heff's Burgers are good. I liked Rick and Carolyn's better because they were just as tasty and cost less. Heff's has the really nice soft crushed ice. If you love to eat ice, this place has great ice. Fairly quick service, tasty burgers, what is not to like. Blue Sky has better burgers, but Heff's is a go to place when we need to eat quick good food. I like the 60's theme with the old cars. read more

New location, same great burgers! I figured the newness had worn off. Wrong. Parking lot was packed, but that's understandable. Not many restaurants out by the hospital, so I figured that's why the crowd. Wrong. Everyone from the old location just followed them over here. Nice big covered patio for when it's not so hot. In Abilene for a doctor's appointment next door to Heff's Burgers, so we decided to give it a try before the long drive home. The employees were all cheerful and seemed genuinely happy to help us. The food was as good as a burger gets. Juicy, all fresh veggies, soft bun. It was obviously quality meat with a good fat content. My very picky grandkids ate every bit! Fries were crispy and well seasoned. Heff's will be our go to burger place when in Abilene. Can't wait to try some other menu items! read more

This was the first time I've ever been to Heff's Burgers and I actually really enjoyed it. It was more like a fast food restaurant, without the drive-thru because when you first go in, you order your food at the counter and then find a seat, and the staff bring you your food. The staff was very sweet and pleasant. The restuarant was adorable; it has an older 60's style to it. The food was delicious as well. I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with onion rings; it was delicious. Heff's Burgers are known for their Heff fries, which I'm going to be honest, the fries are more like chips. They are good but when I order fries, I want fries. So a little warning on that. I would definitely recommend eating here, over all. Very good. read more

We enjoy eating at Heff's. Service is always good and so is the food. I got a BLT sandwich and ended up having to ask for more tomatoes. I've never actually had to do that before. The tomatoes on my sandwich were paper thin and therefore pretty much undetectable when I took a bite. I will say though as soon I asked, I was brought out a couple of nice sized slices! I am from Texas (not Abiline) but drove in from Albuquerque. Had to come to Abiline due to my mom having surgery. Heff's is right across the street from the hospital. Convenient and from the reviews pretty good. I drove all day and wasn't going to drive anymore so I decided to give Heff's a shot. Staff super friendly and the menu was easy to read. I ordered the Bucket burger? Had grilled onions and jalapeños and mushrooms no lettuce or pickles which I should have added. Bun was good but not what was expecting (texture) and the patty itself was a decent size but was dry. Curley fries are what I know as ribbon fries only good at the state fair. There was a man playing the piano which was odd but pretty cool at the same time. He was taking requests and of course tips (I did) Great service and convenient is the 3 star. Burger was short of great. As for the reviews that say this is the best burger in Abiline...? I hope this was just an off day. For me there is always Whataburger a Texas staple. read more
