This is a pretty darned good lunch location. First of all, it's not busy at lunch at all. In the evenings, when Olive Garden is "jammin", Red Lobster gets the overflow. During lunchtime you'll be able to be seated right away even if you show up late. It's just not that busy. The restaurant is clean and if you go very often, you'll recognize a lot of long-time employees. Must be a good place to work with so many choosing to stick around. The seats at the tables are hard but the booths are very comfortable and plenty of room for two grown men. If there are four, I recommend a table for more room. They start you off with a drink order and a few Cheddar Bay Biscuits which I strongly recommend you avoid as they're a heavenly pastry-type foodgasm of the highest order. You'll be addicted to these tasty delicacies quicker than flies on a rib roast. Yes, they are that good. And need absolutely no butter either. They offer a decent lunch menu with various items all priced under $10. If you add a side salad to any lunch entree there is a $2.50 premium. You don't need the salad unless you're absolutely starving. The lunch will fill most people. We enjoy the crunch fried fish sandwich, fried shrimp & clams and they have excellent french fries cooked cripsy on the outside to a golden brown and soft on the inside. Avoid the fish and chips. The fish is very very bland. It takes quite a bit of tartar sauce to choke it all down. Employees are very friendly and take really good care of you. You'll never want for a drink. Bathrooms are clean and the waiting area is huge for the odd occasion that they ARE busy. It's not memorable nor is it special. It's an upscale Long John Silvers that also serves alcohol. read more

We went here for my Mom's birthday, 4 of us. We were seated rather quickly, which was surprising. We waited several minutes to be greeted by our server who said he would be right back. Nope. We waited several more minutes before he came to take our drink order. Several minutes later he came back with drinks and forgot one but took our order. We waited about 20 minutes to get salad and biscuits and the missing drink. And he forgot a salad. Again we waited. We watched as 2 tables were seated, had appetizers, refills in endless shrimp and receive their entries before we saw ours. Waiter said they had 2 cooks quit 2 days ago so kitchen was behind and managers were in the kitchen helping out. Interestingly one of the managers was chatting with friends in of the booths that ate before us but were seated after us. After waiting 70 minutes I spoke to the manager who said she was just told of the situation by the wait staff and they were expediting our order. My Dad decided we were done. We decided to leave and he spoke to the manager about our wait. We had been lied to by wait staff. He could have been honest but chose to lie. Was very disappointing to say the least. Will not return but will spend extra to buy fresh and serve at home!!! read more

The food is delicious, and I've never had any problems with the food. It's the service that bugs me. The host or hostess seats you, the waiter takes your order, brings the food, and then they forget about you. I always go when the restaurant isn't busy so I can avoid the wait, but it never fails. I sit there for an extra half hour waiting for the check or a refill. And when they do come back to check on you, they act as if you're inconveniencing them somehow. I feel like saying, "It's your job! Lose the attitude!" I love the food, hate the service. read more

This is my absolute last time eating at this particular Red Lobster. Every single time I've placed a To Go order it's always messed up. Today the issues was the fact that I ordered the 1 1/2 snow crab legs, baked potato, salad, and shrimp scampi. Well upon deliver of my food at the bar by Alyssa S my salad was bagged leaning on one side of the bag and the scampi leaning on the other side in which the scampi sauce spilled over into the bag. Now the crab legs; they looked as if they just came out of mud (dingy looking) and the clusters were broken pieces and terribly small. $35.77 bill for mess and I will absolutely be completing the survey on the Red Lobster site. Food: eh. I'll be honest, been to red lobster about 10 times in my life, probably my least favorite this go around. Probably because I came in at 9, and didn't order food until about 9:15, so they probably wanted me out of there, but I don't blame them. I also bet they were rushed, so no legitimate complaints from me. Got the ultimate feast, crab was a little cold and same with lobster. Still ate all of it cuz I ain't no... Service: amazing. Main reason I'm giving it 5 stars. 1. I sat at the bar due to the hostess's suggestion that service would come sooner. 2. Kierston was the bartender, and she was fantastic. I had a question about the local beer on tap (angry hanks imperial pale ale) and she said "well I don't know much about beer, but I'll go ask Randy because he knows a ton about beer"... (I'll get to the rest in 3.) She was good about filling my water and asking if I would like another beer. And I'm from Arizona so it was awesome talking with her about Montana and Billings and nightlife, among other things. I wish I could have stayed a little longer hut I felt bad because I was still there at about 10:30 (30 minutes past closing) thank you Kierston! 3. Randy. Beer connoisseur. Came out from the kitchen (I think he's a manager/cook) and answered my questions about beer, and we talked about our certain preferences, and he told me about how he brews his own beer and gave me some tips if I wanted to eventually try that out myself. I asked about scottish ales, and he gave me his opinion and suggested the one they had. I tried it and I liked it! Angry hanks imperial pale ale was great as well as the Red Lodge Scottish ale. As I was leaving I apologized for staying so late and he said it wasn't a problem and we talked even more about beer and life. It was a great experience. Really wish I was in Billings and Montana in general a lot longer, I love it here. Thank you Kierston and Randy. Disgusting! Its been 10yrs since I have been to a Red Lobster. This place has ruined for the future. We went cause a friends daughter picked it, sure I'll try it. What a mistake. All four of our meals were very sub-par for any restaurant. The shrimp were slimy in texture. I was not looking for a gourmet meal, at least have some flavor. Even Taco Bell can serve shrimp without slime. They only plus was our waiter was great! That's the reason for the two stars. Even on a busy night, he was on the ball. Can't save the food though. My mom received the wrong meal. My food was heated up after waiting 30 minutes for my moms wrong meal.

I went with my self and 4 other people, and as usual for a Friday, we had to wait about 45 mins for seating. They first tried to seat us at a table that was really for four while there was seating near the back of the restaurant available including a table for 6. The manager told is we could absolutely sit there and he found us a server. Our server was an awkwardly friendly. He seemed to take awhile between seating us and taking our drink and food orders. The food was hot and delicious but not quite worth what it all cost. Our server never did bring the condiments we had requested. The manager however checked on us quite frequently and delivered our drink orders quickly. The bathrooms weren't very clean though and the staff working in the front didn't seem to care when I informed them. read more

We come to Billings regularly to shop and go to the doctor and always stop at Red Lobster. Tonight will be our last visit. My husband ordered a top shelf lobsterita on the rocks. He was given a regular frozen margarita. When he asked for the correct drink they told him that if he drinks the one he has, they'll buy him the next one. He didn't want the next one right. He wanted one margarita and he wanted it the way he ordered it. Half way through dinner someone finally brought him the correct drink. He never drank the first one. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer. Over half of them in the order were still closed. The manager said they came pasteurized, precooked and frozen to the restaurant and that they probably froze shut in transit. Huh? If they were frozen shut, then shouldn't they open up when they were reheated? I ordered a dinner that came with hand breaded shrimp. It came with 4 shrimp which was plenty to eat, but one of the shrimp was actually a ball of fried dough. No shrimp. Just a gooey fried dough ball... The waiter kept telling us how lucky we were to get extra food. I didn't want extra crappy food. I wanted my order done correctly the first time. Maybe the manger should spend more time being attentive to the customers and a busy line instead of following the wait staff around with a flashlight making sure the tables were clean enough. He actually had one waitress on her hands and knees at the table next to us cleaning the carpet with a brush. He came by with a flashlight looking at the floor and table after she cleaned it. This happened during a busy dinner service. If I had been that waitress, I would have brushed out his colon with that brush. I felt bad for her. It was humiliating. The kitchen was messing up. He should have been in there or cleaning the tables so she could attend to get customers. For $110 I expect better. Next time I want shrimp, I'll go to Popeyes! read more

In town, on our way to Denver and my dad and I decided to go here for dinner. Great choice, I must say. Service was excellent and our waitress Jordan was full of enthusiasm. She made an effort to relate to her customers and also memorized the menu by its pages and gave great recommendations. There was a moment when it took her a little time to bring back some butter (which was understandable seeing as it was fairly busy that night) but she made up for it with free dessert. I ordered a steak with shrimp and the food came out amazing. Steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was seasoned perfectly. We were part of a larger group at this place Sunday night starting at 6 PM. Over all the service was poor at best, our wait person was rude and surely and had every excuse in the book for slow service. One part of our group waited for over 30 minutes to get a cocktail and when we asked about this we were told to be patient we were not the only customers in the restaurant. Really? One of the meals served had raw shrimp as part of a sandwich. We were there 2 hours and one member of the group still had not been served her meal. We will not go back to this place ever and I will share our feelings with all that I know. Being short staffed is not the customers fault, don't indicate that it is. There are a lot of places to eat in Billings, competition is keen, wake up Red Lobster, you too could be one of many empty buildings in our fair city. read more

I really like the food at Red Lobster. Not sure why the previous poster had such a negative response. We are in MT lady which is pretty far from any ocean. If you want "fresh out of the ocean" seafood then stay in LA. Red Lobster has by far the best selection in Billings and the wait staff are wonderful. August 21, 2015 we picked up guest from Billings airport. We arrived at Red Lobster at 8:45 p.m. We were seated and the waitress came and asked what we wanted to drink. After our drinks were delivered the waitress asked what we wanted to order. When we put in our fish order she told us there were no fish except for crab legs and deep fried shrimp. Why weren't we told this before we ordered drinks or at the door? This was embarssing taking guest into that restaurant for a nce fish dinner. What kind of managment runs out of every type of fish at a seafood restaurant? The waitress could not look us in our eyes when she told us that. We will never go in that restaurant again. We always loved eating at Red Lobster but this one is off limits. Not only that my husband ordered Walt's Favorite and the shrimp was raw. The problem my family has with the Billings Red Lobster is an unfailing issue with service. The last 3 times we were there, our food arrived less than one minute (literally) from the moment our salads were served to our table. We don't experience this issue at any other restaurant. I worked at Red Lobster for years and I can tell you that this is the worst Red Lobster I have been to. I have been here twice and both times were awful. The service is terribly slow and the last time my boyfriend and I went our food was under cooked and cold. We left feeling sick and didn't want to eat. We cut our unlimited shrimp short because of this. When we complained the server, Keirsten did not do anything but hand us our check. It is sad that this is the only RL in Montana. I was telling a friend about our less than fun visit for dinner Friday the 12th 2016. She said Yelp it! We expected to wait for seating. Friday night, Montana High School State Wrestling in town. So the hour wait was just the beginning. Once we were seated our waitress Tina was the classic meth head. She was sweating and wiping her sweat with her arm and then flipping it on the floor. She would make it half way to our table then turn around and go back to the kitchen. She was like watching a dog chase it's tail. The couple with us made a substitution on their meal. When it came she hadn't substituted it she had just added the item as a side. Everyone's meals came except for mine. She said it was because there wasn't enough room on the grill. Well, by the time it came my husband was about done with his meal. My tilapia was a bit under cooked, rushed to get it to the table. She did have it removed from the bill. We had to ask for the cheddar bay biscuits. She stated they don't just serve them unless you ask. Our total time there was 3.5 hours. So much more I could say, but don't want to sound like a big complainer! read more

The hostess was pleasant, however the wait was going to be 25 min for a table of 2, which only took 5 min. that was the only part of our visit that was worth while. It took a long time to take our order, and even longer to get our meals, after about an hour they brought meals for the table next to us, we were told it would be another 10 min. We had dinner on 1-4-2018 around 5:30 pm, the restaurant was just starting to pick up, we were seated quickly by a very nice young man, never got his name, I was pleased that he sat us away from the register as our last experience there was not a good one... This time was better, we had a nice server named Megan, she was very personable, knowledgeable & assisted us with our choices, she even brought my husband a sample of the Bisque as he wasn't sure what it was, our only reason for giving only 4 stars was because we were cold the entire time. It appeared that the air conditioner was on, mind you it is January, Megan had tried several times to get it turned off, but I would say only about 5 minutes it was warm.
