When I first arrived, I got a nasty look from Reggie, the bartender/server. I was then seated by the kitchen, which was very rude, when they had ample room in other sections away from the kitchen. The bartender/ server told the hostess to seat me in this particular section next to the kitchen due to me being a solo and having athletic wear on or out of pure laziness. After giving him clear and easy-to-understand instructions of what I wanted order the server yelled at me across the bar in front of other guests, asking me what kind of stake cut I wanted. Again, I told him this upfront when he originally took my order. Very embarrassing for a guest to be yelled at in a restaurant when I'm paying for service. After I gave him my order two times already. He then came and slammed my water and biscuit down very rudely. This is the problem with dining in Dover Delaware, young black problematic people who don't have a manager present to correct them and show how good service is supposed to be given. Hearin that Red Lobster was having "financial" issues, I decided to go and take a look at what they had. Undecided on what to get, I ordered the Catch of the Day (salmon) with rice and baked potato; a kids Mac and cheese with Brussels sprouts and a slice of chocolate wave cake. Once I received my order (delivery) I proceeded to eat my meal. 1st thing, no condiments of any kind or utensils (though I asked). I finally decide to break into my meal and the salmon was the driest thing I have EVER had. I mean like cardboard, Sahara sand, dry. I couldn't attempt to eat it. No matter how much fish I was craving it wouldn't work. I tried to fix it. No. I had to toss it. So bad that the bottom of the salmon was like tree bark. When I checked on the kid's meal, my son LOVES Mac and cheese. Well, the Mac and cheese had not really been touched. This really pissed me off because if I had wanted to cook, I wouldn't have ordered. Still craving fish, I thought to myself, ok...I will try again. So the next night, I got stuffed flounder. It was WORSE. Overcooked, sloppily made, the flounder was flat with the stuffing looking neglected and unloved; too salty, chewy, and all around nasty. I would have tried to get a refund but both Red Lobster and DoorDash blamed each other, and neither meal was refunded. I know that Red Lobster is a chain restaurant, and over the years their items have failed in taste, but they are quick to raise the prices. More money, less quality. Although I do not go to Red Lobster on a regular, their salmon has always been good (It's pretty much the only meal that I order, and I tend to stick with what I know. So, on May 30th, I placed the folowing order: 1. Lobster,Shrimp, and Salmon meal with baked potato (the works), bacon mac & cheese, and an additional side of garlic linguini alfredo. ***special instructions provided, requesting each item to be grilled, moist, tender, with extra garlic alfredo sauce(acptin up-charge.*** 2. Grilled Salmon (half portion) with mashed potatoes and broccoli. ***special instructions provided, requesting tender and moist salmon.*** 3. (Kids) Fried fish with fries and OJ. ***special instructions provided, requesting tender fried fish.*** 4. Half dozen cheddar biscuits (in addition to the 2 per meal). 5. (2) Chocolate Wave cake. ***special instructions provided, requesting no ice cream.*** These are my families staple meals, so, I didn't think twice about the order. i should have known that I was going to have issues with my order when the restaurant said the order would be delivered (via DoorDash) in 1 hour; but actually arrived almost an hour later. I did not want contact free delivery, I chose to have it handed to me, but the driver dropped the food off on the porch, and left. After a few minutes, he called to say that he had placed the order on my stoop. Not happy, but fine... Then came the additional problems: 1. (Lobster, Shrimp, and Salmon) The Lobster was chewy like rubber. Shrimp skewer was ok; but not like they've cooked it in the past. The fish was as dry as the Sahara desert. There was nothing moist in the entire meal. I tried to eat a piece, while trying to swallow it got lodged into my throat, and I was choking, coughing, and finally it came out...even then, it was still dry, and inedible. When ordering, I requested additional garlic Alfredo sauce, They charged me for the extra sauce, but did not provide it. Lastly, one of the reasons that I gave the restaurant 1 star is because their *new* Bacon Mac & Cheese was very tasty. 2. (Grilled Salmon - half portion). Again, the Salmon was extremely dry. even when drinking water, as a chaser to the Salmon, it did not help in any way. Lastly, the broccoli was underc-ooked and hard to chew. 3. (Kids Fried Fish). After getting his food, my son kept telling me that his fried fish did not "taste right." He ate the French fries and started looking for something else to eat; and had thrown the fish in the trash. Lastly, I request OJ from the restaurant, and they sent apple. 4. (Half dozed Cheddar Bay biscuits). After ordering an additional half dozen biscuits, I was charged, but they did not provide any additional biscuits. So, really, they charged me for free biscuits. 5. (Chocolate Wave cake). It was moiist, fall apart, delicious chocolate-y heaven (This is the other reason, why I gave one star). At this point, I contacted the restaurant, to see what they would be able to do for me, I spoke the SPV and she said that they could remake the food, but that I would have to come pick it up; or, they would refund the original payment. I did the latter. The SPV said that I would receive an email showling the refund confirmation...but, of course, I have not received that email. I will be contacting the store again, to make sure that this is rectified, and that the refund has been processed.. As I said before, I rarely order from Red Lobster, but, this experience has turned me off completely. From the start, 2 hours to deliver a meal is ridiculous, the food was horrid,and my family was left hungry, and I had to spend additional monies in order to feed them. I had dinner at your Dover, DE location on August 8, 2023. I ordered the 10oz strip steak with lobster tail. My dining companion ordered a dish which also contained lobster although I forgot what the name of his dish was. The lobster meat was translucent, not white like other lobster that I have eaten and I have eaten at Red Lobster in many states. Both lobster dishes had a slightly fishy smell and the meat was rubbery. Neither my dining companion or myself are the type to complain and send a dish back so we just dealt with it. This was my dining companion's first time at Red Lobster and said it will be his last. It will probably be my last time too and I'm thinking about writing a review and posting it, although I have never liked to do that. I remember when Red Lobster was the place to go for quality seafood. This does not seem to be the case any more. The menu is extremely limited on actual seafood items and the quality and flavor is just not there. When we entered the restaurant it was almost empty but we had to wait 15 minutes for our party of six to be seated. Rather than push a few empty tables together they made us wait for another large party to finish eating. It was bizarre. That should have been our clue to just go somewhere else. Our waitress was new and we were very patient with her. However she could not answer any questions without leaving and getting the answer. After we placed our order we had to wait about 40 minutes for our food to arrive, even though the place was almost empty. A few in our party asked for some extra things like vinegar for the fish and chips. The waitress obviously was very confused by this request and went off again to ask for help. She never returned. Even after everyone was done eating she could not be found. We had to ask another person to have our waitress return. Finally we were told to just pay in a box that took credit cards. On March 13, 2022, my colleagues asked the Manager if they could accommodate 30 people for a very special Retirement celebration and dinner for me! They had spoken to another venue, who did not have enough staff to accommodate us! They allowed them to put up banners and balloons in an area that was very private! They even provided a 6 foot table to accommodate the gifts and flowers for this very special celebration! That servers were outstanding and caring meeting all of our needs! They even offered to keep a large cake in their refrigerator until after dinner! They truly cared and provided personal service to everyone! We had the absolute worst experience we have ever had at a Red Lobster restaurant last night. We were seated immediately and waited about 7 minutes for a server to come and take our drink order. We got our drinks about 7-10 minutes later and didn't receive biscuits. We inquired about biscuits which took another 5-7 minutes and we made sure to have our orders ready when she returned. We ordered ultimate endless shrimp with one salad and one chowder. After about 10 minutes she came by and claimed she was "busy doing a ton of other stuff" and would check on our soup and salad. Those came about 5 minutes later.we had been here nearly 40 minutes at the time. Our food followed about 10 minutes later and thankfully it was hot and correct. She offered to take our shrimp refill order right away thankfully since it was taking so long for everything. Our server didn't clear our soup bowl, salad plate or empty bread basket and the table was very full. We ordered 2 refill orders each, the first one came out about 10 minutes later which was perfect. The other 3 took an additional 15 minutes (25 total) and again we received no apology of any sort. We also hadn't had any plates cleared off the table, still salad plate, soup bowl, empty biscuit basket, and our 2 enormous entree plates. I decided not to bring up this issue to the manager after seeing her interact with another table and the patrons did not appear to receive any satisfaction. THEY ARE HUGE. My chicken was ok. It was bland. The glaze was clearly an after thought. The dish comes with rice and one side. I asked for something else instead of rice. So I ended up with mashed potatoes & sautéed green beans and mushrooms. I took photos of the meals. I didn't photograph the menu for obvious reason. We both ordered drinks. I had a disarrono on the rocks and he ordered a pina colada. My very small amount of liquor was almost 2$ more than his full on blended drink. I am giving them 3 stars not for the servers service...but for the value & taste of the food. The food came out quick, the server was friendly and attentive. While sitting in our booth we heard someone complain about the cleanliness of the silverware, another booth had many problems including one with their bill. Wow, That was $100.00 and two hours of my life I can't get back. Red Lobster prides itself as a company for seamless service and food. They are doing as they intend. I do not feel this restaurant is any different than any other Red Lobster. This restaurant is being given 3 stars as you wait for a seat in the dinning area no matter what day and time. In this case this is different than let's say the Red Lobster in New Brunswick, NJ.
