The good news is it has reopened after Harvey closed it. They took the opportunity to make limited upgrades to the decor. The menu is essentially the same. We tried the scampi, flounder and fried shrimp. They were all as a I remembered. There's a few restart issues. The staff is all new they're using new technology for seating. These are a few things that's slowing things down a bit. I assume that will pass as the gain familiarity. If you liked Red Lobster before then hurry back I returned to this restaurant on Thursday night, a few weeks after witnessing a less than satisfactory service performance. At that time I gave them the benefit of doubt with a new staff due to the reopening after Harvey . Unfortunately they still have a serious staff issue. We usually go to papas across the street, but yesterday we ventured into red lobster. It was the first time we've been to red lobster since the 1980s. I've got to admit that I enjoyed the experience. We had lobster and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious for a portion of the price we would pay at papas seafood. The server was delightful, well versed on the menu options, and kept our glasses full without being prompted. My only complaint was the floors were super slippery in all locations within the restaurant, this should be addressed before someone falls. Outside of that, I have no complaints at all. Have been to this location many times before however this time was by far my worst visit. I simply didn't feel like we were a priority. To start with it took over 30 minutes from when we ordered to get our food. After waiting this long our waitress stopped on the way out with our food and addressed a billing question with another one of her tables for about 3 or 4 minutes! Nonetheless met our waiter who was truly an amazing person who made a simple lunch into a lunch filled with good food and laughter. Darrell was his name. Decided on a few side dishes followed by the lunch specials (soup - lobster bisque, salad, Cajun chicken linguini Alfredo, and brownie) all with the warm flavorful cheddar biscuits. I have been seeing the commercials for all you can eat shrimp lately and decided to have lunch at the Red Lobster in Humble last weekend. I was truly disappointed, the large plates of shrimp were replaced by small servings after which you have to ask for more and wait. The shrimp were small and were unusually chewy and seemed more like freezer foods than that from a Restaurant. The service was acceptable and the server was pleasant. Endless Shrimp. I could end this here, but I won't because there really is so much more to say. I don't care, I am a fan of Red Lobster. Is it chic? No. Am I chic? No. See? We're a match made in chain restaurant heaven. I took my father and his love here to thank them for putting up with me during a rather drawn out house closing, and I'm glad we did (even though we had to sort of drag my father). First, our waitress (Jeri) was the absolute best server I have encountered in a very long time. She arrived at our table less than 1 minute after we sat down, introduced herself and told us to take our time. She put our drink and appetizer order (langostino lobster pizza-you must get it) in, gave us a few more minutes and then returned to take our order, pointing out things here and there on the menu. We all ordered the same thing. Endless Shrimp. Because...endless... Our appetizer came out and was perfect. Our server did not serve our salads (again crisp and perfect) until we were done. Once the salads were done, she brought out our dinners. I chose the shrimp scampi (I've adored it for years) and shrimp alfredo. Both were very good. When we were half done, she came back to get our next order of shrimp so that we wouldn't have to wait. My wife and I were in the city of Humble, Texas the other day, running orders around and we needed to eat lunch. We noticed that it was around 5:30pm so we decided to just eat an early dinner. We ended up picking Red Lobster. We personally both love the food in the past and were excited to go back since it had been a while. We went inside the lobby and immediately the smell hit us. The smell of fresh baked cheese biscuits and delicious seafood. We were seated fairly quickly since the restaurant was not too busy for a Friday evening. I did notice that the host had his headphones in one ear and kept forgetting which table we were supposed to be sat at. Once we were sat at our table, our waiter came over almost immediately. He was a very friendly person and we enjoyed having him as our waiter. We ordered our drinks and appetizer, and the drinks came right away. The strawberry pina coloda that was being featured when we went was delicious and would have ordered more if I was not full after eating my meal. The crab stuffed rangoons came as our appetizer and they were also delicious and flavorful. The chili sauce that comes with it is light and has just enough kick to give flavor but not enough to overpower the crab. Our salads also came out and they were cold and fresh, which is what I look for in a good starter salad. Our main course dishes came next, and the timing was perfect. We had just finished our salads when the main course came. Both dishes were well presented and delicious with tons of different flavors. Unfortunately, there was a ton of food and we had to take most of it home since we were already stuffed. This is not a problem, however, since we enjoyed it again as a late-night snack and lunch the following day. Honestly, I'm disappointed. I've been to this location on several occasions and this is the first time it was astoundingly bad. We went in for my SO's lunch date to celebrate his birthday. His mother ordered the pick three thing they were offering at the time, he got a Sailor's platter, and I got the soup and salad combo. His mother's shrimp were undercooked, and her chicken was overcooked. He didn't have any complaints about his food but he did say that it was pretty mediocre. My food was terrible. I ordered the lobster bisque and shrimp salad. The lobster bisque was bland, with very chewy and crumbly bits of lobster in it. Overall disgusting. The shrimp salad? When they brought me it, the salad consisted of four shrimp on a bed of iceburg lettuce (the world's blandest green). I had to ask why my salad was just lettuce and shrimp and the waiter offered to make another one and put more shrimp on it. He made another one (which props for that) but did not bring me more shrimp as well. The ranch also tasted funny, almost like it had gone sour. We asked why the seating was taking so long (Tuesday) when their where obviously a lot of empty tables and hostess says that all their tables are dirty and haven't been cleaned.
