We enjoy lunches here several times a year when traveling to/from Oregon coast. Service and food always very good. Very clean with extra cleaning efforts in these difficult times. Social distancing did not lessen our most recent visit. Easy to recommend with 1 minute access from I-5. read more

Food and drinks were great, it was clean, but the service wasn't good at all. Waited at the front desk to be seated for around 20 minutes without even being acknowledged by the the employee at the desk who had been standing there since before we walked in. Finally got seated by another employee that noticed us. When we came in there was only one other table with people already eating. The first waitress was friendly but told us the watermelon margaritas were on sale $5 each so we ordered 2 and we were charged $10 each. When we asked why they said it was martinis on sale instead. I very rarely go to chain restaurants because food will be average at best and service will suck. But I am on a road trip and the location was convenient to walk from my hotel. But....your restaurant in Kelso WA executed OUTSTANDING and impressive service; they worked extremely well as a team, they are obviously very well managed and led. I was greeted on the way in, and out, both times with a greeting that felt genuine. My server, Sharlene L, was also friendly and genuine. She made herself available often during the meal, but not too often and not awkwardly. She also came at just the right times. Also impressive was how the whole staff seemed to work as a team. I observed water being brought to tables and refills on food and drinks by multiple team members. My waitress worked with the baker to get my biscuits made without cheese. Everything seemed timely, Harrell free, and with well trained coordination. The food was average (typical for chain restraunts), the beer selection was exceptionally poor, but the service was outstanding, on par with well run family run restraunts. Well done. read more

This location really impressed me. I came into town to visit my family over the weekend and we are all Celiac (have severe gluten allergy). I normally do not dine out at restaurants for fear of being exposed to gluten as most restaurants just don't understand food allergies but being that I was visiting my family out of town we had been on the go all day and were in need of a safe dinner option. The manager came up to us after we placed our order to go through the menu items with us after she noticed that one of the items that my step father had ordered was not gluten free. She was so attentive and took our food allergies very seriously. We went over the food allergen list that the restaurant has in depth to make sure the rest of the items that we had ordered were gluten free. Our server was also very knowledgably and friendly and had a very pleasant demeanor. We were all very impressed with how this location deals with food allergies and the exceptional friendliness of all of the staff members that we encountered, I know my parents will return, its very hard to find restaurants like this that are really on the ball with food allergies. The manager was really one of a kind, I don't know about other Red Lobster locations but this is definitely a great location to dine if you want friendly service and a safe place to dine with food allergies. read more

I have to say I really enjoy going to this restaurant. The management and staff are amazing. They are kind and patient people will do everything to make sure you have a great experience. I've been in some fancy restaurants and this by far is one of my favorite places. The food is always good and if it isn't they will make it right. Don't forget the cheddar Bay biscuits! What's really cool, is the staff will actually talk to you and ask you how your day has been and are just genuine people. I took my nephews to red lobster after their football game. They were kind of dirty and a little loud,for which I apologized and the staff was excellent. We all had a really good time. I don't know about you but it was really special to me how they stayed open during the pandemic. It was nice to have a sense of normalcy. I cannot recommend this place enough. We are incredulous at the disaster that was our online order experience with the Kelso Red Lobster tonight and the ridiculous response of the restaurant personnel, who basically said it was our problem. To celebrate buying a new home, I ordered a $75 meal for me and my husband through Red Lobster's online menu. Although I live just 3 miles away and could easily have picked the meal up myself, a delivery option was offered and I thought that would make the meal more special, as a surprise for my husband. I ordered at about 6 p.m. for an 8 p.m. delivery. I received a text indicating the order would arrive via DoorDash, a service I have never previously used. When it got close to 8 p.m., I clicked the link on the text to check on the progress of the delivery and it said the driver was just 5 minutes away. At 8 p.m. it showed the driver was now 9 minutes away and it stayed that way for 20 minutes. At that point, I phoned the driver--the only option offered--and she responded saying that she was "off the grid" and didn't know what happened to our order. I immediately phoned the restaurant and was told my dinner had been picked up by a driver. I explained that the meal hadn't arrived and I was told they would put a manager on the phone to solve the problem. After holding for 15 minutes, a man came on and told me that because the meal had been picked up there was nothing he could do because online delivery is handled by a vendor. I explained that it said nothing on the website about delivery vendors, that I didn't choose that vendor, and that the only contact I had with the vendor was the phone number of a driver (Kendra) who had just told me she didn't have my order. This man offered no apology and kept saying it wasn't his fault. I asked if he would reverse the charge and he said no because the driver took the meal. My husband and I could not believe that this could even happen in the first place and that the man made absolutely no effort at service recovery. He could have offered to remake the meal for curbside pickup but he was adamant it wasn't his fault, stating the restaurant had been so busy. We became enraged, as one would expect with such a poor customer service response, and all he had to say was "call back tomorrow and talk to the manager"--and we had been told he was the manager! I informed him we would dispute the charge with our credit card company and never return to Red Lobster, which had previously been my favorite celebration restaurant. Giant "atta boy" to the staff at Kelso Red Lobster! I phoned my order in for pick up and used the the automated voice ordering option. First time for using that feature ...our large order was perfect, right down to the drawn butter for my hubby's lobster tail! I had the Parrot Isle Coconut JUMBO Shrimp, my hubby had the Ultimate Surf & Turf, both entrees came with two sides. We had so much food, we will have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! I got the pick 3 combination or whatever. Fried prawns, fried white fish & salmon. Salmon was hella dry & really fishy tasting. Fish tasted like literal frozen fish sticks from Grocery Outlet. Prawns were the best thing on the plate. Mashed potatoes tasted weird & green beans were BOMB & FRESH! Do I feel my meal was worth $28.. absolutely not. The clam chowder was really watery & lacking of chunks. My beer tasted like bad tap water. My husband's fish and chips were so very bland. $87 for my family of 4 when kids meals are only $6 doesnt seem worth it. We had such a great meal and a great experience once again. They are always so clean and attentive and the food is always hot and fresh no matter how busy they are. The manager Terry always takes such good care of us and he prides himself in his team and the service they provide to their guests. The customer service was likely the best part of this visit to Red Lobster. We were greeted immediately by a very sweet woman who sat us promptly. Our server was also friendly and extremely helpful, however, the food itself was less than great. The clam chowder I got was extremely watered down and it didn't even taste like chowder. I also got the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and zucchini. My steak was very good, but my potatoes were cold and bland. The zucchini was also over-seasoned and seemed to be burnt. Overall this isn't worth the price and you would be better off somewhere else, good customer service is great but it doesn't make up for a bad kitchen staff. read more

Went for my birthday dinner last night. Our waitress asked us if we were celebrating anything special. My fiancé replied yes, it's my fiancés birthday. The waitress says oh okay and then says we don't sing or do anything anymore. Okay. So then we ask for waters. Took her 15 min to bring our drink. 5 min after that she finally takes our orders. As we sit for 30 min two other customers are seated. They get there drinks and food in 8 min! I watched them finish there meals and get up and leave before we finally get our food! We paid 118.00 for a 2 person dinner and it SUCKED! Our scallops were cold! Our lobster was over cooked our razor clams were also over cooked! Our server was WAY to busy to even ask if we needed a refill on our water!! I'm not one to complain about service but this was absurd! read more

We ordered the chicken strip family bundle with fries and green beans for the sides. When I placed the order online the confirmation had the wrong sides and took off my coupon code for 6 free biscuits. I called the number in the email to get things sorted out and the manager quickly ammended the order and went about adding the coupon code. Since I had placed the order online, they were unable to add the code so the manager gave us a $10 comp to add to our next order. That is $7 more than what the biscuits ended up costing us. When the food was brought out to the car the service was very friendly and helpful. I only docked the star because the portions of fries and green beans were quite small to go with 20 chicken strips. If we were trying to feed 4 adults there wouldn't be enough. Everything was very tasty and still warm by the time we got it home. read more

Red Lobster isn't only mediocre, but it's really expensive. The service was very good. The biscuits they offer before the meal are actually the best part of the meal. We had misc shrimp dishes, and scallops & Wood-Grilled salmon which were under-prepared IMO, almost gelatinous. The salmon looked like and tasted like it was cooked from a frozen piece and then placed on the wood platter. I like my seafood cooked all the way, other wise I'd eat sushi. To be honest, after my date to a high school formal took me to a Red Lobster restaurant, I realized how overrated this chain was and never thought about eating here ever again. Years later (only eight years!), I'm on my way to a wedding in Oregon with my current boyfriend and he was apparently starving and could not wait until the dinner at the wedding. We took a stop in the little town of Kelso and the only tolerable place we could find to dine at was here. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were seated fairly quickly - could it be the town population or the lack of popularity? We did not know. However, the waitress was very attentive to us and our orders. We started off with the complimentary biscuits. How should I describe them? They were like butter-covered KFC biscuits except with a nice garlic flavor! Delicious! I don't remember having these from my high school date! My boyfriend and I decided to split the New England seafood platter and a full order of crab linguini alfredo. Aside from the breaded clams, which tasted like the kind that you could buy in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store, the seafood platter also had some pretty good generously-sized bacon-wrapped scallops and yummy stuffed mushrooms. And I have to say that their crab linguini alfredo was awesome! And for a full order of $15 for the portion of pasta we received, I was so impressed. And there was a lot of dungeness crab (not that imitation crab stuff!) in it, too! Om nom nom nom! What can I say.. it's Red Lobster...a chain. It's lobster fest this month..woo hoo...(sarcasm laid thick)... This particular location is undergoing renovation so it was a bit hectic inside. I went for lunch and ordered their fish and chips. As much as the food snob in me hates to admit it...they do serve a good fish and chips. Most places lay the batter on so thick it's a 50/50 split on fish to batter ratio..but not RL. My filet was nice and thick with just a thin crispy crust. The fries were...well...fries.. eh. Service level was ok. The intro was friendly and peppy...lol...then "poof"...she vanished for a long time. She came back eventually. So I call to place a large to go order and as I am ordering the person answering the call is really rude and short with me, continues to interrupt me as I am ordering asking if thats all and is there anything else. Half way through my order I kindly explain again that I have a larger order and I have several more things to go. At the end I said we would like 10 pina colada sauces as well for our food. (We ordered a lot of shrimp and things that go with it) So we get there to pick up our food and on the bill there is a charge for $40 something in pina colada sauce alone and we say what is this? We have never been charge for pina colada sauce in the restaurant or with a to go order before. They said thats 10 giant sauces that cost $4 something each. So now we had to not only take off some because thats obviously Way too much, but we had to pay for the sauce!! Why is this sauce free and included with coconut shrimp every time I order it but not today. We wanted 10 of the 1 oz cups of sauce which is a completely reasonable amount for 5 complete meals. Kelso, WA is a good pit stop for me when traveling between [insert some westernly location in Oregon here] and Seattle. I used to just duck in at Mickey D's but a couple trips ago I discovered Red Lobster over by the Target on the west side of the freeway. In complete honesty, the Kelso, WA Red Lobster staff could come up to many a fine dining establishment in Seattle and teach them a thing or two about good service. Not even kidding. I don't know if it's a Red Lobster thing or Kelso thing, but the staff at this location are consistently excellent without going overboard. On today's visit, as soon as I approached the foyer doors, two staff nonchalantly opened them for me...very polite, but not over-the-top. I was seated immediately, set up with water quickly, and my waiter was consistently on-the-ball. When I make Kelso a pit-stop, I am typically a female dining alone, and I really appreciate that the Red Lobster staff doesn't act weird about it. Not an eyelash is batted when I say "just one", and my waiter helpfully suggested, "Are you shopping, or just passing through?" I was just passing through, but I said, "Shopping" just for the fun of it. (I learned that apparently the Kelso Three Rivers Mall is quite nice!) As far as the food goes, hey...it's Red Lobster. It's not an upscale place in Portland or Seattle. If you read "scallops", they're probably bay scallops, and if you read "shrimp", you might want to check on the per-pound count. Plenty of fats are used in preparation...the herb-cheddar rolls are very tasty but they're basically a lot of cheese and butter mixed with a little bit oi flour. You aren't going to pay a premium for this meal, though, and for less than $10 today I had a starter salad, shrimp scampi, broiled (bay) scallops, and a baked potato. It's all good if you're not a big food (seafood) snob. I highly recommend the Kelso Red Lobster as great place for lunch or dinner if you are traveling between locations in OR and WA. Although the food is fine, I stop there because I know I'm going to be treated well in the midst of a long drive. read more

It was a dark and stormy night... We were driving back to Seattle from Portland, and, as anyone who has done this trek knows, the food pickins just off of I-5 along this stretch are pretty slim. We decided to stop at the Red Lobster in Kelso because it is a convenient, semi-known quantity. (This was actually my first time at any Red Lobster.) We were greeted by the hostess, who was told by someone (the manager, I assume) to make sure our table was given to, oh, we'll call her Flo. I immediately sensed there was more behind this than making sure customers were evenly distributed amongst servers. From what was said, and they way it was said, I got the feeling that Flo's shift was ending shortly and, lately, she'd been balking about getting new tables assigned to her too close to her shift's end, and she was not going to be too pleased about having to serve us. I was pretty much on the mark. At first, all was fine. Flo was completely friendly. She took our drink orders, answered our questions about the menu, brought our drinks and salads and entrées. All this was done within perfectly reasonable and expected time frames. Then, though, the winds started to turn. My husband, the fast eater, finished his entrée within a few minutes. I had barely made a dent in mine. She immediately whisked away his plate and asked me, while I literally had forkful of food somewhere between my plate and my mouth, if I would like a box or was I still "picking at" my food. I told her I had just started eating. A minute or so later, she brought the check! I continued to eat. She continued to peek back every twenty seconds or so to see if some cash or a credit card had been put into the check bill fold. At one point, she came over to actually look inside the bill fold, at which time I told her quite directly, "I'm still eating." We were never asked how our food was. Never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks or if we wanted dessert. Basically, our "service" was about the rudest and most unprofessional I've ever experienced. I understand the restaurant management wanted to make sure Flo played by the rules, which sometimes means getting a new table thrown at you close to quittin' time. But, in the process, they ensured we got crappy service. I give two stars only because the food overall was completely decent and Red Lobster allowed us to eat along that stretch of I-5 at a place whose name did not include the word "Denny" or "Eats." read more

Three of us stopped in at the height of the lunch hour and held an impromptu business meeting, taking up one of their largest booths. Sure, we ordered food, but we stayed for three and a half hours. Though they were busy and we were obviously taking up some prime real estate, our waitress was as gracious as could be. Our coffees, sodas, and bread baskets were replenished again and again without asking. And the food was better than I had expected. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants and had never eaten at a Red Lobster. I can't say I'll begin to seek them out wherever I travel, but this one provided us with the perfect venue for a very important meeting. I am so pleased with our experience here tonight! Our waitress Tiffany was great! When we sat down as she took drink orders she asked our names and remembered the entire evening! I am a waitress part-time and this gal is a class act! We did the Shrimpfest all you can eat. My youngest right out of the gate picked a flavor she didn't like. Tiffany made her feel awesome about picking something else AND she was cool about someone else at the table eating them even though they didn't order the promo. On to the food. Really good. Came out in good time, tasted good. Ceasar salad was really tastie, also the chowder was good. This is a good place to eat. I hope you get Tiffany. She exceeded expectations 100%. read more

My boyfriend and I went to red lobster for dinner tonight. We got there at 7:35 and ordered shortly after. We were ignored by the waitresses and watched people who had come in after us receive their main entrees before we had even gotten biscuits. There were multiple girls walking by us paying no attention. When we had finally gotten our food, they had messed up on our order which made us wait an extra 15 minutes for what we had ordered in the first place. A man who had arrived 30 minutes after us got his appetizer before we got our food and got his entree almost immediately after we had finally gotten ours- about 40 minutes after ordering. The waitresses on shift obviously have no concern for customer satisfaction and need a lesson on customer service, coming from someone who works in customer service. read more

We were stating in Kelso and decided to eat at their restaurant. Was treated very nice by all the staff. Our waitress, Devona, was very attentive but not nagging. She had a pleasant smile and great demeanor. She represented the Red Lobster brand well. Food was very good and tasty. I have been to Red Lobster several times over the years in California, Oregon and Washington. I've been to the one in Kelso numerous times over the years. It is by far the best. Well trained staff, great service. Today they made a mistake on my takeout order and I live on the other side of Longview and didn't find the mistake till I got home. I called, and the manager handled the mistake elegantly. He owned it, fixed it, apologized for it and rewarded me handsomely. Nobody is perfect and no two Red Lobster franchises are equal. Service is surprisingly good here. We had a large party of seven, everyone ordered something oversized, I had a steak because I don't like seafood (it wasn't my choice to come to this place). The steak was really good, even though it was overcooked - I'd asked for medium-well, but it came out well-done.
