6/11/2019 Just the worst experience ever. Ordered our drinks and it close to 15 minutes till out server returns. I guess know why the place was empty. O Now we order dinner, it come out somewhat quick, but she informs us they are out of bake potatoes. NP. We will take mashed potatoes, but they never come out and she never stops back until the bill arrives. Oh yes and our scallops we're missing to. Finally I notice she has over charged us on the bill too. After some time she returns with the correct bill and the missing items packaged to go. We pay, and she brings the wrong change. I was craving crab legs and there are limited places in the upstate NY area to get them, so my husband and I ventured over to Route 31 on Tuesday evening to get my crab leg on. First of all, when we walked in, the place was dead - however, the new hostess (who was very frantic, fyi) let us know it might be a "10, 15, maybe 20 minute? I don't know I'm new!" wait. Ok... After about 10 minutes, we were seated in an empty-ish section of the restaurant. It was apparent the waitstaff were being stretched thin, and I understand. However. I ordered crab legs. There are crab legs on the menu. Only one option. For $22.49. I then asked if I could substitute soup for salad - I was met with a resounding "sure!" from the waitress. So I ordered a soup, instead of a salad. We got our food and my husband did not get his pina colada sauce to go with his coconut shrimp (honestly, the best part). I didn't get an extra plate for my shells or a wet nap or even any crab crackers. Sigh. The waitress came back about 10 minutes later, and we had to ask for our utensils/sauces. They came quickly, but our food was already getting cold (crab legs get cold fast!). I also commented how MANY crab legs were on my plate. I wasted an entire cluster (there were 3 - every other time I go to Red Lobster, there are only 2, which is plenty for me). Then our bill came... my husband paid and we left. Then, I looked at the receipt in the car... $28.99 for crab legs. What?? Where did that price come from?? I double-checked the menu online and it said $22.49, which was the only option for crab legs that I saw on the menu. So did I get charged for my "wasted" cluster, or what? ALSO... when someone asks if they can substitute soup for salad, you'd assume the wait staff would tell you about an upcharge, right? $4.79 for a cup of soup instead of a salad. Five. Dollars. For. Soup. So my $22.49 meal ended up being $33.78. Are you kidding me??? Completely unprofessional behavior from your wait staff - not only did we have cold food and have to flag down the server each time we wanted a refill, but we were upcharged $10 without knowing it?? Is it lack of training, or is it a scam? Please let us know, I'd be curious. Maybe I'll return to Red Lobster (bc crab legs yo), but absolutely not this location if they're going to keep upcharging customers without notice. read more

My husband ordered the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake: it came with Maine lobster tails, scallops, muscles, And fresh tomatoes, all on top of linguine noodles in a garlic and white wine broth. I ordered the Crab Linguini Alfredo and had an add-on order of Snow Crab Legs. We had hearty salads with a lot of dressing And the cheddar bay biscuits were great as usual. And our server, Derrick, was very nice! The hubby enjoyed himself so much that he left a very generous tip, AND we still walked out of there with $$ and leftovers!! read more

I went here with my sexy wife for a romantic date night. We arrived and had to wait for 5 hours but it's ok because we had time to talk and get to know each other (this was our first date, we've been married for seven years). We walked around outside and enjoyed the scenic view. When we got sat our server was very nice and very attentive. I ordered the lobster linguini and in the bottom of the bowl was empty crab leg shells and empty shrimp tails! I was EXTREMELY angry and started whipping the crab shells at the manager and our server. I never knew I could throw stuff that far though so I wasn't mad over that anymore. The manager STORMED over to me with a crab leg stuck in his hair and shoved my face into the bowl and screamed at me "EAT THOSE MOTHERFUCKING SHRIMPS BITCH" I was terrified and my wife hit him over the head with her glass. Stopped at Red Lobster for dinner with my husband. We don't normally go to chain restaurants but we had a gift card and it's unlimited shrimp! The rolls are by far my favorite. The shrimp were alright. I will say though, our server (Amanda if I remember correctly) was superb. Very attentive, friendly, down to earth. This restaurant is a dream for sea food lovers like myself. With a wide selection of sea foods and sea food combinations at a reasonable price this chain of restaurants is a must visit. We had went there for my sons 29th birthday party. We all got there at 200pm. They gave us a table at 2:20pm. The waitress took our orders. We watched people eat their dinners and leave. Finally I spoke up because I didn't want a scene on my sons birthday. It was 3:30pm and we still didn't have our dinners. The manager came out said our food will be right out and we never saw him again. They sent the bartender out to wait on us. There were more waitresses I felt that was odd. 3:45pm our dinners came out. They had messed up three dinner orders. My wife's and my bay scallops were rubbery, I had fried and she had broiled. Our coconut shrimp were dried out. The bartender said he would fix the bill. My daughter went to the bathroom the original waitress was in there crying. My wife felt sorry for her so when the bill came out she paid the full amount. This was my wife's favorite place. Me personally i will never go there again. What an awful birthday to remember. My boyfriend and I went to to this location on fathers day. We walked in and put our name in, just as we expected it was a 20 min wait. We did not mind because it gave us time to have a drink at the bar. We should have known from the service at the bar that the rest of the night was not going to go well. The bar tenders were not very personable or attentive. So about 20 minutes later our buzzer goes off and we go to get our table. We sit down and we make our decisions on what we want to eat. Well about 10 minutes later we realized that we have yet to see our server. We decided to stay anyways hoping that one of the 3 different servers walking by us would ask us if we have been helped... With the understanding that this is a chain franchise, the food is good. I wish it was more consistent with the experience, but that seems dependent upon how busy they are. When they are on point, so is the food. When they are'nt, some things can be overcooked. Not loving rubber lobster. Outside of driving 6 hours to Maine, for the price, I'll continue coming. Frequent coupons offered online. I'd rate them 3.5 stars. Last meal, dueling lobsters, was great. Drinks taste a bit weak. Perhaps too quick of a pour or not filling up to the lines on the jigger. We have no issue with the food. HOWEVER, We had a disturbing visit recently--while we were awaiting our food, everyone was commenting on some of the lobsters attacking each other in the tank to the point one tore off the claw of another. The manager was there with another young man with a net breaking them up and removing the deceased lobster. That was scary, UNTIL OUR WAITRESS informed us, "Oh that happens, we DON'T FEED THE LOBSTERS so the tank stays clean and THEY ARE STARVING SO THEY ATTACK EACH OTHER!". I used to love dining at this location until last night. The server was great but the food was sub par. The biscuit was soggy, it needed to bake a bit longer. The lobster was a bit overcooked as was the fried shrimp. The crab looked a muddy brown color and was stuck tight to the shell making it very difficult to extract. Shrimp scampi was meh. And the asparagus was old and tasted like eating an old, frayed paint brush. For $31 you would figure on getting a decent meal. Guess I won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

This isn't the first time we ordered from here. We have had small issues w/ our order but nothing crazy. Last week my boyfriend orders 2 dinners and an appetizer on line ( paid on line) to be picked up at 7:01pm. I got there at that time and was told it would be a few minutes. Around 740pm I asked the bartender to check again . He walks out apologizing that it was plated to be a dine in. I get home and NONE of it was our order. We had someone's grub hub order! I go back and the manager said " sorry, I didn't take your order." No one did! It was online. They didn't try to fix this at all and the credit was going to take 3-5 business days. I asked the hostess for the corporate number and I get " how should I know." What the???? I ended up writing to corporate a week ago with no response. Never, ever, again! read more

You know, there is something to say for "chain restaurants " Went in tonight for my Dads birthday,and had an awesome time. I am in the restaurant business, so I can be hyper critical, but the staff on for my visit knocked it out of the park. I was greeted by a friendly host when I arrived, let them know I would have guests joining me and was sat right away. The server, Lindsey, greeted me right away. I let her know I had family joining me to celebrate my Dads birthday. I put in my drink order as well as two orders of the seafood stuffed mushrooms. My drink came out quickly and the mushrooms arrived just as my family did, so perfect timing there. The mushrooms were delicious. I was initially put off that they were topped with cheese, but it worked. Everyone loved them we all tried different entrees, But everyone loved what they got. My niece even tried lobster for the first time! Everything perfectly cooked, even the sides of green beans with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The best part was the service. Lindsey brought out a special dessert to help us celebrate my Dads birthday which was the perfect ending to a perfect visit! Thank you so much! read more

If you are going on a busy time, and have 4 or less in your party, call ahead and they will place you on the waiting list. When I called, the wait time was an hour. Went here with my wife and her parents (her mom was celebrating her birthday , they were able to surprise her and made it extra special) McKenzie was our server and her manager (forgot her name ) gave us extra attention when our rice wasn't going to be ready on time, she preemptively made it right and didn't wait for anything to escalate. Not that it would . We ended up getting that same rice on time!and they even surprised and delighted with covering desert and the rice. It's not often that we're pleased with customer service and service in general. I would leave a comment if the service was poor, so I want to let you know if you're clay area upstate stop by. This is a good example of an average restaurant that has relatively good food though it is really salty depending on what you order (especially the salad which by the way has way to much dressing) but never fear drinks such as water, iced tea and milk have free refills and another good thing is the unlimited rolls. Though every restaurant has a flaw and this one is that it is quite cold in the restaurant so bring a sweater and also if you are in a rush do not come here even the drinks took 10 minutes so you have a wait for just about everything and the final flaw is that the brownie a la mode's brownie was under baked. We've been going to Red Lobster for years and always had a good meal. Due to Corona restrictions we have avoided going out for several months. We received a Red Lobster gift card for Christmas and decided to go early on a Monday for Dinner. We both took advantage of the endless shrimp offerings. We were VERY surprised, actually SHOCKED that salad is no longer included with meals. Equally SHOCKING is that you now only get 2 cheddar biscuits per person with your meal. The food was tasty but portions weren't what they used to be. When you request a refill on the shrimp the servings get progressively smaller too. It seems like they also raised prices on entrees. There are no special Corona physical barrier precautions in place either, just staff wearing face masks. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but our future return is very doubtful. Hey we can be cheap too, by going elsewhere where prices are less and you get more. Hopefully others will do the same and they will get the message. read more

When I finally got my entree it was cold and I did not get my lobster mashed potatoes. The waitress was more concerned with a customer who left without paying. Not only was the food above par, but the atmosphere and staff were absolutely stellar. I cannot say one bad thing about this restaurant. The only thing that could have made this experience better would have been if the food was free. But because it was so good I had no problem paying for it. I highly recommend this restaurant to any one who loves not only seafood, but culinary goodness of all genres. Because this restaurant is not limited to just seafood. The whole point of going out to eat is to leave full, and most importantly have a great time doing it. Which you get more than enough of both at this establishment. I have 3 kids 5 and under that are loud and messy (although polite, weird enough), and we came with some doubts after bad times at the Red Lobster on Erie Blvd. We were all pleasantly surprised. Our waitress rocked - fast service, fast refills and a genuine sense of humor with the kids that seemed totally unforced. We left full and happy and made sure to tip well (like I said, messy kids). During our most recent visit to the Rt 31 Clay location, we had a couple problems with service. We were contacted by the GM Sarah Porter within just a few hours after our complaint was sent via their survey site. Her apology was very sincere. The email that she sent wasn't just a "canned" response. Based on her response...we will give that location our future business and feel that she will correct the problem that prompted the our complaint. It's obvious to us now that mindset at the corporate level and that of the GM is different from what we experienced on our visit. Although her offer to compensate us and the invitation back to the restaurant is much appreciated...we are satisfied at this point just knowing that she will make whatever changes are needed to assure that her restaurant meets or exceeds the paying customers expectations. We went to Red Lobster for my daughter's birthday yesterday, and the service was ridiculous! First of all, they refused to seat us for an hour even though they said fifteen minutes max and seated every other patron in the lobby. Then, although we explicitly told them it was my daughter's birthday and we witnessed them giving cake and song a to two other patrons, what do we get? A bill and a nudge to go home. Their food choices I thought were awful. They have endless rice that accompanied most dishes on their dinner menu. They didn't have any mashed potatoes on the menu, nor gravy (for french fries) to be found at this place. If I'm going to splurge on expensive seafood I want a better choice of starches. I just wanted a haddock dinner but I didn't find just a haddock dinner. The waitress had on someone else's name plate because she had left hers at home. How do I know this? This is the 3rd time in a row that I have gone to this restaurant and left ANGRY. It took over an hour after placing the order to get our food and we go on weekday evenings when there aren't many people in the restaurant. You can probably check their sales and see they have continued to drop. There is a reason for this. The servers are friendly, but that is not the only thing that matters in a restaurant. I ordered the salmon, shrimp, and lobster dish. It took 20 minutes for our alcoholic drinks to be brought over. The server came over 30 minutes after placing the order with my salad and told me they were out of salmon and the cooks substituted scallops. I said okay because it had already been 30 minutes and I assumed the cooks had actually started cooking our food and I didn't want to wait even longer to change my order. In the mean time since we had placed our order a party was seated behind me and when our food came out after waiting 70 minutes and placed on our table, another server came and delivered food to that table not even a minute later. Once our server figured out we were very upset about waiting so long for our order she barely came to our table, the table behind us that received their food at the same time was asked 3 times how everything was while we were only asked once. We asked for a to go box and after waiting 10 minutes for it to come to the table, we asked the host for a to go box to at least get our food boxed up. The host was not receptive to the fact that we had to ask someone else for help and told us we need to ask our server for a box and we explained the situation to him and he finally agreed to help and asked if we "needed to talk to the manager" and we said "why bother" he didn't try to make us happy at all. My $30 dinner wasn't even worth $15. I got the tiniest lobster tail (that was crispy it was so overcooked) I have ever seen, 4 overcooked scallops, and 4 rubbery shrimp. The rice pilaf underneath was so salty my whole glass of water, my alcoholic drink, and the rest of my dinner wasn't enough to get the salt taste out of my mouth. I will NEVER go to this Red Lobster EVER again, I don't care how bad I want seafood. And maybe not any Red Lobster. I will go to the grocery store and pay half the price for a lot more seafood and cook it myself and be much happier. read more

I haven't been to a red lobster in many years because i'm not a big seafood fan but my husband and i had a great meal at the route 31 location last night.To start we immediately got those delicious warm flaky cheddar biscuits..yah! Then we got the soy ginger shrimp lettuce wraps which had excellent flavor.Hubby ordered the admiral feast, he said the food was crispy and had offered a good selection of seafood.I ordered the half sized cajun chicken past, it had a yummy alfredo sauce,tender chicken and was just the right amount.Before ordering i asked if the chicken was really spicy and our server Lindsey(who was very attentive and genuinely nice)suggested that the cooks could tone down the spice if i wanted.We also ordered the caesar salads,which had a tasty dressing and shaved parmesan on top,my husband thought his was a little soggy but mine was just fine.Our sodas were refilled and check was delivered when we were ready.Restaurant was clean and nicely air conditioned.There was a 15 minute wait but that's to be expected on a friday night,food was worth it:) and I will come back. read more
