Let me start by saying that this was my second visit to this location after refusing to go back for another try. I first visit to the Oxford Red Lobster a few months ago and it was a disaster! After posting my review from our first trip, the management team reached out to me and after some communications with them, we decided to give this location one more try. I'm so glad we did. We visited this location on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and was immediately greeted and seated. There was about 4 other tables being used by customers upon our arrival. Our server, Vanessa S, took our drink order while we looked over the menu. I gotta say we were less than enthused to try the food here again, but we went ahead ordered. I ordered the same thing I had a few months earlier, the Admiral Platter with the roasted brussels spouts and baked potato and we also ordered the Parmesan Chicken with a salad and mashed potato. It was about 45 minutes (42:43) from the time we were seated to the time our orders arrived. Let me just say,,,, WOW!!! The difference between our first visit and our second visit was night and day! Our food was AWESOME!! It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Not just Vanessa, but several servers stopped by the check on us numerous times during our visit. We could not be more pleased with the service, food, and total experience of this visit to Red Lobster. The restaurant could still use some updating and cleaning, but all in all, our experience was good. One thing I did notice, the TV at the bar seem to be a gathering place for all the workers when they are not attending to customers. I did see a customer across from where we were seated having to flag a servers attention for something. It seems that the management is trying to turn this location around for the better. Even the food tasted totally different (for the good) since our last visit. We have put this location back on our list to visit the next time we are in the area. Hello, I'm currently in the parking lot of Red Lobster in Oxford Ala, with a horrible experience. We live in Centre so we don't get Red Lobster a lot, when we go out of town Red Lobster is our 1st choice. We came tonight on a date night that we hardly ever get. Was excited to see it not busy with cars out side. Walk in, stand , wait to be seated. No one to be found , we walk around finally find someone to sit us but they told us to wait because the tables had to be cleaned , we waited and waited finally seated. Table still dirty with straw paper and crumb on it , but we sat, waited for service, waited , used restroom, waited and waited , a guy brought us silverware and menus , waited, waited , waited , finally lady came brought biscuits and took our order, we ordered drinks and food since we had been sitting forever . We figured we better order everything while we had a waitress. I ate a half a biscuit, needed a drink , about to choke , I got up and ask for a drink, waited , waited , finally stoped the waitress and ask for a drink and she said she was sorry , the manager got on to her for her dirty tables and she was trying to get them cleaned off first ... so I'm in my car drinking a bottle of water that I had in my car and we will go somewhere else for dinner! read more

First we waited for 45 minutes for a table. They had two servers but open tables everywhere. Many people were complaint about the wait and people being seated before others who had waited for a long time. The kids at the front didn't have a clue what they were doing. The we waited ANOTHER 45 minutes or so for our food!!! It was bland and honestly over priced. Over 2.5 hours is too much! My girlfriend went to the restroom on the way out. She noticed the soap was completely out and she had to use hand sanitizer! I checked men's and it was out too!!! I am sure they do not have a separate bathroom for workers but draw your own conclusion!!! I will NEVER eat here again EVER! It should be closed down immediately! We have eaten at many Red Lobster restaurants over the years including this one whenever we are in the area. Today, other than the salad and biscuits, the food was not up to the Red Lobster standard. The lobster was opaque and rubbery. The fried shrimp was fried in oil that needed to be changed out. The shrimp scampi was not cooked properly either . We ordered an add on crab legs and was charged the a la carte price, but had it corrected. I ordered a baked potato with my meal and did not even get it brought out. The store apparently does not have even one crab cracker for customers and it was difficult to crack the crab. With prices as high as they are, the food quality was nowhere close to acceptable. I am a 40 year customer and have not ever had a meal bad enough to complain about from any Red Lobster. The waitress was courteous and it was not busy at all. read more

I have been a guest at this restaurant several times the last couple times I have been the food was delicious as always but service is really slow. The time before last we had to wait to be seated over half a hour and there was only 3 other families in the whole restaurant. This time we were seated fast, but it seemed they must be short staffed in the kitchen. Worst experience ever I went in for a date and It had a 15 min wait with an near empty restaurant we were seated around 7:30 pm ordered our drinks and food and didn't receive the food till about 9:30 and didn't get the drinks till after that. The lady handed us the plate and said be careful it's hot and I bit into it and it was cold. They didn't peel the shrimp in the shrimp Alfredo I bit into the shrimp Alfredo and was surprised that it wasn't peeled. And the crabs legs were cold and they barely had any meat in them some was empty they basically gave us an anorexic crab. Honestly after waiting more than an hour to get our food we thought about leaving but decided to stay because of how quiet the empty restaurant was. Another table was sat beside us and they asked how long have we been waiting and I said it's been an hour and still no food and made the joke that they probably had to go to Maine to get the lobster and I agreed probably so and when we finally got our mixed drinks all the alcohol was at the top the first few sips was nothing but captain Morgan and the table beside us was complaining about their food as well and their food was also cold. And to top it all off we were still hungry after eating everything I've never spent $70 on a 2 person meal and both of us was still hungry and to top it off even more on the way out we noticed the food grade sign was a 83/100 that's pretty bad so I did my research and if it's below an 85 they have to get retested in 60 days to see if they have to be shut down. read more

We've gone to this Red Lobster for at least 15 years, tonight I almost wished we'd stayed home and ate sandwiches! Tonight was a night we looked forward to for months- Lobster Fest. This was also mine & my husbands 36th Valentine's Day dinner. The weather was super windy & chilly- like pretty freaking cold. Of course nothing the restaurant can do about the outside temps- but the inside was freezing and either the AC was blasting or their heat is broken...cause we froze in there. When we got there, the place was pretty empty- yet the girl said "Uh it's gonna be at least 30 minutes if that's ok" My husband told her it was and he sat down beside me. We waited 40 minutes to be sat in an almost empty restaurant. Then 10 for the waitress to take our drink orders & give us menus. Really the whole night was like this- a lot of waiting. Our waitress was rude. My husband asked if they could turn the heat up or off- nope. Can you move us to a table that isn't in the path of the freezing air- nope- cause it would stress out the other waitresses! WTH? The place was mostly empty. She finally brought our appetizers and I sat for 20+ minutes without a refill. Not sure what's going on at this place? My best guess is they were under staffed tonight. Sucks for us as we only splurge a few times a years at restaurants & this was one of them. I don't know if I'll be able to talk my husband into going back there after tonight??? My lobster was good- but my baked potato I upgraded to loaded was only loaded with butter and sour cream. There was maybe a tsp of shredded cheddar cheese, half a tsp of bacon and zero green onions. My husband upgraded his baked potato to have the cheesy lobster. Man was he disappointed with that & frankly I don't blame him. See photos!! read more

We (my boyfriend and I) went in for the endless shrimp. We were seated and our server was with us in seconds. She took our drinks and went to the back. Almost immediately a commotion started from the back. When she came back we asked if everything was okay, because it was so loud. She told us that someone made the fry cook angry and he had threatened her when she went back there. She said the managers were trying to calm him down. My BF made a joke about the fry cook losing his job. Our server told us it was not the first time and he wasn't going to be fired for it. We haven't been back since. The food was okay and the host and server were great, but, I can't in good conscience, support a company that's going to allow someone that's threatening their employees to continue working there. Ordered a dozen cheddar bay biscuits 25 minutes in advance. Get to the restaurant and wait. By the time the order is supposed to be done, we hear nothing. 10 minutes pass and we ask if the order is ready. They said it would be out in another minute. Well after that minute and another nine more pass I ask for our order. I was then told the order isn't ready and it will be another 5 minutes. If I wanted to waste close to an hour of my life, I think next time I will choose getting the mix at Walmart and making it at home myself. read more

The food was good, but it wasn't great. Everything tasted pretty bland for the prices. I asked for medium well steak and they made it well done. It was still good, but it could have been better. The shrimp skewer was alright, but I've had better for sure. The rolls are always really good. Everything was hot and the service was good. The mashed potatoes are pretty good too. SO, I went to this Red Lobster yesterday, thinking you can't mess up frying frozen seafood, if you do it every day...right? Wrong. I ordered the "create your own" and chose popcorn shrimp and fried shrimp. They were both mostly breading - in fact, I think both choices were the same teeny tiny pieces of shrimp.  One just had more breading that was formed to look like a 'tail'.  BOTH items were extremely overcooked. The popcorn shrimp was a very unappetizing dark brown. I think, if you want a more realistic looking piece of shrimp, you have to order the "Walt's Shrimp". That's what I found out after I got my sorry-looking plate. And speaking of plates, they have changed to small round plates instead of the small platters that used to be heaped with delicious looking food that you couldn't wait to dive into. Sigh...I guess every blessed restaurant that is a chain is going the way of nondescript bar food. Usually, you have to wait to get a table at a Red Lobster. I have eaten at RL for decades and generally been impressed with the quality and consistency of food and service over the years. A bit of a tendency to oversalting but i have found that to be somewhat common in big chains. However a good experience yesterday. "Ish" the manager had at our request reserved a table for us to accommodate an elderly family member and when we arrived and checked in she recognized the name and took us right in. David our waiter was great. Very attentive and patient. Had the crab and artichoke dip appetizer and mushrooms. Dip a little salty but otherwise tasty. Mushrooms were good. Entrees were a fried fisherman's platter type deal that two people shared and they are it all and said it was tasty. Brother said crab cakes were fair, not quite enough meat and a little burned on the top. Hard to get a great crab cake for the most part-- too much filler. My mom had a shrimp dinner that she said was good. I had the sesame miso salmon bowl which was delicious. A nice glaze on it and nicely cooked a-- on a bed of rice and with a small side of salad and fried Brussels sprout. Sprouts were great. I could have easily ordered another side of them. . Beverage service was good and attentive. All in all a positive experience. Of note the extensive menu you maybe used to has been way pared down to a front and back of a large page , ostensibly due to Covid changes. Our waitress was great and did a great job and the food was good, but it took forever to get our food. We are traveling through town and this slowed us down considerably since we were already going to get home super late tonight. I have never been a fan of any Red Lobster - but got a lousy gift card last Christmas so decided to use it otherwise I would have kept on driving on an empty stomach. But in all honesty- I am glad I stopped at this Red Lobster in Oxford Al. The food I ordered actually had a faint resemblance to the photo shopped picture in the menu and to those mouth watering commercials you see on TV. The shrimp was fresh, fried clams were golden brown and tasty and the fish fillet actually had a measurable height - its depth and taste was better than a piece of cardboard- which was welcome compared to the rest of my RL experiences. But those rubber pellets that are being passed off as scallops need to go! So if you are forced into a RL by a gift card given then I recommend this one. Horrible service. Started with an appetizer and server returned with the wrong item. Told her that the order was wrong and she started flipping through the menu and said "this is what you ordered" with a stern voice and when she got on that page, she pointed to what she brought and said that's what you ordered (some kind of dip) . I pointed to the item above 4 inches above and said "I ordered the seaside sampler", at which point she took the item back and left in a huff. We had called for reservations @ 2 p.m. for arrival @ 6 p.m. for a party of 16-20 on a Thursday evening. We got there and told Tyler that we had reservations and the name we had the reservations in, but had 2 more people in our party! He did not say a word, but flounced around and left the host/hostess stand and shrugged his shoulders and acted like we had asked for free food for all of us!! This was very rude! After over 30 minutes on a slow night with empty places everywhere~ we were shown to the back room & they just then (in front of all of us) put 2 more plates on the table, no silverware, no bread plates, no coasters, nothing but the 2 plates~how RUDE! NOW~ our waiter was exceptional, the food was good, we all in our party enjoyed our fellowship, but there was a damper on everything because of the host! He had no call to do what he did as he was told 16-20 and there was room at the tables, he did NOT have to move more tables to accommodate us, just had to add 2 services. I don't know why we had to wait 30 minutes when it should have already been set up either. We had one waiter for our whole table and the only other party in the room ( 8 people) had 2 waitresses?! Okay Yelpers, listen up and look up! You won't see many of my reviews with a 4 Star rating. However, on this visit it definitely deserves those 4 stars. First we were seated next to a window which made my wife happy. We were greeted quickly and efficiently by a kind and courteous server named Richie. He took our drink order and returned quickly with the drinks and a basket of piping "hot from the oven" garlic biscuits...yum! He took our order and returned with my salad in no time. Just as I finished my salad, which was cold, crisp and delicious, our entrees arrived. Great timing and pacing. They entrees were great! Everything was hot and my broiled fish was cooked absolutely perfectly. It was flaky, moist and had just the right amount of seasoning. Only found one small bone in the filets. The baked potato was hot and fresh and the butter and sour cream melted right into the flesh. My fried shrimp were a little overcooked, or this visit might have received 5 Stars. The shrimp scampi was, as usual, really tasty and really garlicky just like I like it. Our tea was kept filled, well except my wife did have to ask one time, and our to-go requests were met quickly. The manager stopped by the table to check on us and the server checked with us several times throughout our meal. This was probably my best visit to this Red Lobster and my wife and I eat there fairly often.
