Cracker Barrel was super close to our hotel so we walked over. This must be a location that hald already gone through the remodel as it didn't seem as "cluttered" with decor as the old version. It also wasn't remodeled to the point that it looked like an entirely different restaurant, either. We were seated quickly as there was no wait when we arrived. We were greeted by the manager as we were escorted to our table. Alex H., our waiter, wasn't far behind. It may have been one of his first days by himself as he seemed a little hesitant... but then again, the manager was stoking the fire right near him... so maybe he was just nervous. Alex did a great job. Our orders were brought fairly quickly, including the ever elusive Broccoli cheese casserole. The portions were perfect for us that day (they seemed smaller than normal but we weren't starving anyway.) He very politely handed them to us plate by plate and came back twice to check that everything was well. I HAVE to mention that Alex even used proper English which isn't common in daily conversation. More often than not, people choose to use slang. This is likely one of the best visits to Cracker Barrel that we've had in a long time. Alex should be promoted to a peer trainer!
