I enjoyed my visit to this location in Pottstown. My friend was in the mood for a seafood boil in the area and red lobster came up. This is actually new to their menu(go figure), and I hope they keep it. It was absolutely delish, as well as the lobster flatbread and cheese biscuits. The service was very good. I really knew better than to try this place again after having a bad experience many many years ago, but we didn't feel like dealing with the King of Prussia traffic and holiday shoppers; it was also a Monday and things are closed so we thought what the heck... it was overpriced and terrible. I mean I could've gotten better shrimp at the grocery store and put it in the air fryer, the lobster tail was a joke and so heavily salted, which I don't know why. We went to Red Lobster in Deptford, NJ at the request of my twin granddaughters for their 19th birthday. It was expensive and a bit disappointing. My one granddaughter wanted crab cakes, but they were not in the menu. I wanted scallops but they were only an available as an $18 appetizer. The menu was rather small. We all ordered (five of us) and waited an hour for our meals. The server did not come back to ask if we wanted drink refills. It had been many years since I last ate at a Red Lobster. I ordered the cheddar biscuits and coconut shrimp for takeout. The biscuits were uneven in that some of mine were not completely baked and tasted doughy. The coconut shrimp was disappointing. There was no flavor. It was like eating cardboard. I did not think it was possible to mess up coconut shrimp. This experience lines up with the recent news of the chain filling for bankruptcy protection. read more

Had lunch here last week, first time since COVID. While many places have raised prices and simplified their menus post COVID, Red Lobster has really done so. The menu now is just a double sided piece of paper. Prices are up, quantities are down. For example, consider this iced-tea. It was a late lunch, so we opted for the fish and chips. At $13.99 pricey considering you only get one piece of fish. It did come with two sides. We both chose the fries (yes, it counts as a side) and cole slaw. It was a generous portion of cole slaw, unfortunately it had an odd taste, so we sent it back and got rice pilaf instead. My fish was way over cooked and shredded when cut. It had no flavor. My husband's fish was a bit undercooke, but he was ok eating it. The fries looked good, but had no taste because they hadn't been salted after coming out of the fryer. The rice in the rice pilaf was way overcooked so that it was mushy. The brown bits were burnt. Neither of us ate it. The biscuits were delicious as usual. The manager agreed to comp my meal. Still $20.79 for one piece of fish and some fries and two miniature iced-teas before tip is steep. We have enjoyed many meals here over the years, but we won't be back. There was no visual e sign of garlic, it herbs of any type. The waiters never refilled our drinks or requested. You have an up charge of. 1.99 for a house salad. A couple finished eating and left a mess that was not cleaned up by anyone in the restaurant. The staff I interact with was kind and we were checked in on. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Hadn't been there in a while & had dinner this week. Went around 4-ish, so not crowded at all. There was no host to greet us when we came in & someone eventually wandered up. Asked for a table rather than a booth and out of all the tables in the nearly empty restaurant, we were seated right in front of the kitchen. It was really loud. Might not have mattered if it were busy, we might not have noticed the noise - loud laughing, plates breaking, etc. Our table was also being pestered by what looked like little fruit flies that I can only assume flew out of the kitchen following the food. The food was mediocre at best. Most of our entrees were over cooked to some degree. I suppose we could have sent things back, but it wasn't inedible and we didn't have the time, so we ate it. I have been going to this Red Lobster for awhile now. All good everytime. In particular....my sister and I went to celebrate our birthdays as we are twins. Our server, Cam was just wonderful, polite, attentive to our needs, ask us if all was good. I'm sure the other servers were good as well. A few days late with the review but a little late is better than never. Came here Saturday night on a date night and just because we didn't feel like cooking lol. I haven't been to red lobster in a while and it was crab fest so I said what the heck let's go. I put my name on the wait list in hopes to be seated right away when we got there and we were, which was great. A few moments after we sat down our waiter introduced himself and took our drink order. We decided to order an appetizer and a small plate to share. We ordered the seafood and artichoke dip and the tuna small plate. The seafood dip was nothing like what it appeared to look like in the picture. It was thin, wasn't really cheesy, it was more of a soup than a dip. The tuna plate was okay, it had small flavor but nothing bold or impressive. I decided to order the crab leg plate because I love them so much. I got salad and the Chesapeake corn on the cob, and my partner got the Maine lobster bake. We both got salads with the meal. The salad was meh. Some lettuce with a few pieces of cherry tomatoes and red onion. It looked sad. We both got the Champaign vinaigrette which was the best part about the salad. My crab legs were actually cooked nicely as far as me getting them apart, I'm disappointed that they claim they don't have any type of seafood seasoning like old bay etc. The corn was cooked great I'm not sure why it was an extra charge because there is nothing spectacular about it as far as taste. I could hardly taste the seasoning that's supposed to make it stand out. The lobster bake was mediocre, she had to get another side of champagne vinaigrette to add to it so it would have more flavor. The cheddar biscuits are always good and on point so no disappointment there. Over al it was average and it was red lobster. A chain seafood restaurant. Our Waitress was good though. He did forget a thing or two but I won't hold it against him because I know he was waiting other tables and once I reminded him he went right to it. Would I go back, it depends. Not many options in Pottstown but I love seafood so we decided to try RL. I decided to go for it and ordered the 1.25lb whole lobster. I was concerned about how it would be served so I asked my waitress. She said you can get it " cleaned and de-shelled " with just the meat on the plate. Ok I said that's great because I can't be ripping a lobster apart with my date. Well guess what, what I was served was a whole lobster. Shell claws and legs on a plate. I asked why and she said that's how it's served. My SO prevents me from keeping it real so I gave it a try, but there wasn't anything there for $35 so I asked the server to send it back and have it served the way she explained. DONT EAT THE LOBSTER BISQUE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Wow. I can't believe it. Boyfriend ate the Lobster bisque Friday night around 8 and by 11 the next day he was VIOLENTLY ill. We had to take him to the emergency room were they confirmed it was a bacterial infection likely caused by the food. I didn't know a human could have so much diarrhea and vomit to expel. 4 IV fluid bags later and he still ends up staying the night because he developed a fever. Just wow. If you want to end up in the ER with salmonella eat here. We're never going back and it's a shame because he ADORED this place beforehand. FOOD POISONING!!! 1st review I have ever wrote because everyone should be warned. First time went here Friday night. I don't eat seafood but went for the biscuits because my sister's boyfriend raved about it so much and was I excited to go and eat biscuits. We went and our waitress was very nice (every one was super nice when we walked in) but it is definitely overpriced food. Biscuits were very good but left the restaurant with a $70 bill for two people who didn't even get seafood (that was very expensive compared to Texas Roadhouse or Chili's, this was like a Cheesecake Factory priced meal. I was so shocked, didn't know it would be that expensive). My sister's boyfriend who worshipped the restaurant as I said earlier, went to the hospital after eating here the next morning after. It WAS from here, hospital confirmed that saying that he had a bacterial infection from food (he only had the food from here in his stomach). THAT IN OTHER WORDS MEANS FOOD POISONING!!! He is currently staying overnight at the hospital. It made him very ill and I have had food poisoning in the past (worst sickness I've ever experience, don't wish it on anyone), but his was very bad case. I wasn't ever hospitalized for mine, he was. That's how bad it is. He didn't eat anything different else besides Red Lobster that day, we went at around 9 pm. He started feeling sick that night which happens as soon as you eat contaminated food. Disgusting, don't eat the lobster bisque!! I will never ever be back! I feel really bad for him because this was his favorite place around and he was excited to go here and show me and my boyfriend how awesome they were... Very sad. Yes, it's true, Millenials are killing chain restaurants. Normally a chain restaurant would get 3 stars from me, but my visit fell below average. Every bit of seafood I ordered was over cooked and lukewarm. The rice pilaf that was supposed to be under my grilled shrimp, non-existent. I literally wasn't going to make a big deal out of the rice, but my husband insisted. When the manager came over to "make it right," she explained that the rice is a garnish. That's total garbage. There is usually a 1/4 to 1/2 cup under my shrimp literally anywhere else, making it more substantial as a meal. I was given an expired coupon for a free app or dessert, but why would I come back. Just tried the "To Go" service for the first time. It was great! We got the Endless Shrimp and received plenty of the shrimp we ordered. We could not eat it all during one sitting. I probably have enough leftovers for two more meals. The lady who got her food together, Tanya, was very thorough as she checked our order over before letting us leave. It was packed well and I appreciate her taking the time to review it before we left. There's nothing worse than getting home to find something was missing. It becomes immediately apparent to me that the pager they handed me does not work as they come into the lobby yelling your name when a table is easy as opposed to sending the page. I went to the rest room to find one of the chefs leaned against the only counter where you can wash your hands texting. We arrive at our table and place our order which they tell me they are out of crab legs, which ruins my entire dinner. It is over an hour before we receive our appetizer. The cheddar biscuits arrive AFTER our appetizer. After two hours of waiting we decided to just take our food in go boxes.
