Not really sure if my fillet was in fact a fillet. I do know that you can not order a steak as med rare. If you do it comes out blue. The ideology that it is good service to serve mashed potatoes with steak is not a sound practice. The mashed potatoes are not even mashed they are squashed through a ricer. Not Good. They have also came up with a recipe that calls for Old Bay Seasoning on a lobster tail. I would prefer to experience the taste of the lobster. Perhaps these are the reasons I only go to Red Lobster once maybe twice a year. The first table they attempted to sit us had a dead fly. I made the mistake of looking out the window. We went on a Wednesday night at 6:30 pm, absolutely no waiting, in fact they opened the front door for us. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and I got the salmon and shrimp pasta. Everything was delicious. Nothing tasted overly salty. We were so tired, from a long day, we couldn't finish our meal. They kindly (and hygienically) packed our meal to go. Loved this visit! I've gone to this location a few times and never left unsatisfied. Our waiter Tyler? (Sorry can't remember for sure) was great. Very attentive and nice. He took our order for appetizers and when they came we asked for extra ranch. He came back promptly with the ranch and a sauce suggestion and it was brilliantly good. He never let the glass get empty and the food was excellent! We got the Ultimate Feast and the fried calamari! Will definitely be going back again! Hope to have the same waiter. Just had the best service I've had in a while from Maddie. Too many times you hear about the bad stuff you don't hear about the good stuff waitress kept our drinks full kept the us with fresh bread and even requested them to make a special things that they don't make anymore I have to say I wish we would get service like this at a lot of the other places it was kind of funny I scared her a little bit because I asked for the store manager I told the store manager they need to do everything they can to hang on to her cuz she is a excellent customer service read more

Red Lobster claims to be "for the seafood lover in you." But, in all honesty, can most of it, save for its fresh catch menu, be classified as seafood? And, just how fresh can this catch be in a strip mall in middle America? And you know good and well the fresh catch certainly isn't flown in daily like say a Legal Seafoods or other high end establishment, but hey its a Red Lobster! I'll be honest. I do enjoy Red Lobster from time to time and in fact grew up on it. It was always a treat to enjoy the family outings that we would routinely have at a Red Lobster. I grew up SAD [1], and by that I mean on the Standard American Diet, which consists of overly processed, fatty and fried foods. I've tried to overcome my pedestrian palate and have succeeded but at times I just need a f*cking Admiral's Feast, know what I mean? I will await the applause of fellow whitebread middle Americans... I feel much like the author Joe Queenan in his hilarious tome "Red Lobster, White Trash & the Blue Lagoon" [2] in which an elitist east coaster spends a year trying to immerse himself in Middle American culture. I feel much the same way he espouses in his book, but I'm sort of the reverse of him as I have tried (and am still trying) to eschew my Middle American palate in lieu of the highbrow. Unfortunately, the siren song of the Shawnee Red Lobster got me.. My misadventure at the Shawnee Red Lobster began after a dopamine induced lack of judgment after a windfall win at a local casino. I should have known better, but in my heightened state of ecstasy I somehow decided that the proper way to celebrate would be with a few Lobsteritas ® [3] and a feast worthy of a winner: The Admiral's Feast! Oh dear me... I am a bit of a health nut, and obsessive exerciser to the point of injury so I'm ashamed to admit I was an ugly American on the heels of my week changing casino win. I couldn't say no to anything! My date and I ordered a crab dip appetizer and I munched those chips with aplomb while I sucked down my mighty Lobsterita®, engulfed my salad and said "yes, please" when asked if I wanted any more cheddar bay biscuits! Good God! As mentioned, I ordered the mighty admiral's feast. The Admiral's Feast[4] , which is a heart attack entree with a side order of stroke, arrived and it contained an array of all things fried. They claim there were scallops, shrimp, a piece of fish and clam strips. Honestly, it all tasted the same: deep fried goodness! Or at the time! And, embarrassingly, I ate it all! The entire plate. I almost picked it up to lick it clean but I still maintained at least a modicum of dignity, at least at that point - what was to come moments later shames me to even write this now. After clearing my plate, much to the amazement of my date, who admitted that her family were fellow Admiral's Feast fans, I sat there so full and bloated as to be shamefully uncomfortable. Apparently, my date's family had a running bet as to who, if anyone could eat an entire Admiral's Feast? They had all failed. Not I! But, I wish I did as minutes later I was requesting the check, and waddling as quick as I could to the car in the vain attempt to make it home before I got violently ill. Unfortunately, I didn't make it. On this night, I was the most ugly of Americans, engorged on carbs, fat and sugar I was as fat as a tick and ready to be popped. And, as I opened my car door, I erupted like Mount Vesuvius giving back by Admiral's Feast like a burnt offering to the gluttony gods. To put it delicately, projectile vomiting, laughter and shame do not mix. But mix it did right next to my car door in the parking lot of the Shawnee Red Lobster much to my shame. I think I even teared up at my plight as my date continued laughing at me. With shame I admit this tale, but since I am dedicated to truth in Yelp reporting, it must be told. I don't hold Red Lobster completely liable but like Bradley Manning not guilty but still culpable of something to be determined. My gluttony got the better of me and I paid the price. I can only imagine the horror that was bestowed upon the eyes of the children and others that watched me regurgitate my meal back onto the hot pavement. This sums up pretty much every Red Lobster experience I like to believe. After regaining my composure, I drove home in shame and briefly considered fashioning a noose to hang from my ceiling fan but was afraid my swollen body would pull it out of the ceiling. Typical overcooked-from-frozen seafood Red Lobster. The dining room seats more people than what their parking lot can hold. Do NOT go on the first of the month. Those government checks are buying lots of fried shrimp. Also do not go expecting a decent glass of wine, unless Beringer white zinfandel excites you. Otherwise we love it. read more

It made me select one star, wanted to leave none! I have been to this location numerous times and everything from the service to the food have been wonderful. However today was the worst experience I've ever encountered. First we waited 10 minutes for someone to even greet us at our table and take our drink orders. Then waited and waited for our drinks to be delivered. Salads arrived before our drinks, which two of us told the waitress we did not want, and the other with the wrong dressing. The waitress told us it comes with the mean so to just take it and they would throw it out. Seems to me if you listened not to bring it out you would not have wasted food. Then the waitress proceed to get mad that we told her the dressing was wrong. She left the table and said she would be back after delivering other food to another table. We asked to speak to the manager to get a different waitress as this one clearly was clueless. Then the manager and waitress proceed to "talk" out the situation allowing the waitress to justify herself in front of our table. I stood up and grabbed the drinks that we finally in a tray in front of us but not being given. Only to find out the drinks were not what we ordered, big surprise. We finally had enough, we were not going to pay over $80 for a meal that would most likely have been screwed up. Your manager not only needs better training when handling guest complaints but your severs needs the basic knowledge of how to listen to a customers order. I really hate to leave a bad review, but I had a terrible experience at my local Red Lobster Sunday evening. Wasn't busy, so I couldn't blame it on that? But, there was a group of six of us, and all of our food was lukewarm, not hot. As everyone knows, seafood needs to be hot to be good. My server, Kyle. P. Wasn't much better either, didn't bring my daughters meal until I asked where it was. Seated very quickly although it was a Thursday night. Hostess was friendly. Waiter came to our table as soon as we sat down and took our drink orders, he was also very friendly. I'm usually very critical when I go out and spend $50+ on a meal. I probably would have given it 4.5 stars because I prefer ribeye or tbone to New York strip but service was great. We walked in on a Friday night and went from waiting to eating in 40 minutes. Great Job Shawnee Red Lobster! The wife talked me into taking her to red lobster last Sunday night against my better judgement. I have never had a satisfactory meal here in the 23 years we have lived in Shawnee and this visit was no better. Don't know how the wife enjoyed her meal but I ordered the wood fired steak and grilled shrimp and it was awful. The steak was so tough and grisly that I could not chew it and the shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. The biscuits and our pleasant server was the only saving grace. read more

We eat here a lot because it is the only seafood place in Shawnee and I love lobster and crab. In the past there was a time we stopped going because the lobster bisque was served cold and the calamari was just a few crumbles of fried batter and then mostly fried broccoli. We did not go back back for quite some time then decided to give it a try again and the management had changed and it was better. The Cesar salad is one of the best Cesar salads I have ever gotten. Biscuits are always great. I always get lobster or crab. MY husband like halibut. Many times they have had halibut listed on their fresh fish of the day menu and they are out of it. Not just halibut either. IT seems any kind of fish that he tries to order from the fish of the day menu they are always out of it. IT makes me wonder why they even bother to have a fish of the day when they never seem to have it when you order it. They need to stock their fresh fish menu better. IF they do not have it they should take it off the menu. They told us once that their fresh fish shipment comes in on Wednesdays so we tried going on Friday. They still did not have what my husband ordered. IT seems sometimes the waitresses are over worked. There is one waitress that we get often who is a gem. She is always so nice and helpful. But last time we were there it seemed she was running herself to death all over the place. And I seen some other waitresses that were not doing much at all. I wish I could remember this ladies name because she deserves a promotion. She is the best waitress they have. Unlike the one we got a few weeks back that got both our orders totally wrong. Did not know what anything was that w asked her about on the fish menu and could not remember what we ordered and had to come back out and ask again. And she seemed to disappear and we could not find her to get tea refills or anything. WE actually told the manager we wanted a different waitress. Luckily I have not seen her again. She must have been fired. She sure needed to be. Most of the time my lobster and crab is good but there are times it is over cooked. I would suggest making the calamari a bit better. Add some of the baby squids instead of just the round rings. and add more calamari than broccoli. I am a calamari lover. I love the kind that has the tiny little squids in it like they serve at Zio's in OKC. Wish Red Lobster would make theirs like that. The mussels for an appetizer are wonderful. Overall I would say this Red Lobster is pretty good. Just wish they would start getting their fish in stock and actually have what is on the fresh fish menu!!! Went in for a early family dinner at 4:00 only to be told we had to sit in the lobby for 5-10 minutes as it was a 'shift change' (plenty of staff visible and only 2 occupied tables that we could see).
