I am going to share our Red Lobster dining experience of last night. Our meal was absolutely delicious. Our server was magnificent. Very friendly. Extremely attentive. At the end of our meal, she was compensated well for her services and thanked for her hospitality and service. The GM came around and took our debit card and bill, brought it back to the table We thanked him. Praised their food and our server. Jim had to use the bathroom. I sat in the vestibule and waited for Jim to come out. We left and walked through the parking lot and Jim was opening my door. As I was sitting down, Jim closed my door and he got situated in the car. Next thing you know, here comes one of the host running around the corner and through the parking lot. Out of breath he says to me, you left and did not pay your bill!!!! Well LORD have MERCY! Why??? Why did this young man just run out to our car and accuse me (us) not paying our bill?!?!?! I went completely bullistic! First off, where the hosts and hostesses stand and where we were seated, he or any of them would not have been able to see any activity at our table. Secondly, I sat in the vestibule for a few minutes, in plain sight and NOT once was I questioned about our bill. Jim exited the bathroom and no one said anything to him either. Needless to say, I was in complete shock, humiliated and embarrassed from hell being accused of such foolery and having to PROVE that I paid my bill!!! I demanded to speak with management and was ignored. Jim did not allow me to go into the restaurant because he already knew it was going to be a situation if I went in. I sat in the car and just cried my eyes out. I came home and called up there only to get some smart ass (probably the ass that made such an accusation) give me the run around about speaking with management and was hung up on. I called right back. Make a long story short, I finally spoke with the General Manager who took my debit card and bill. He was very apologetic and tried to right the situation by offering a $150.00 gift card. This is not the end. I visited Red Lobster with a group of four today. We had joined the waitlist in advance and were told the wait would be around 10-15 minutes after checking in. However, as I didn't receive a text after about 10 minutes so I went inside to inquire about our table. The hostess claimed she had called me, but I never received the call. This was a red flag. Then Despite being seated, we waited for over 20 minutes without any service, not even water. After my husband hailed a hostess, we were promised assistance, but another 10 minutes passed with no greeting or service. Frustrated, we opted to leave. On our way out, we noticed the hostess my husband had spoken to avoiding us intentionally, and another staff member just sitting outside. I strongly recommend avoiding this location entirely. Bad decisions have consequences For some ridiculous reason my friend likes Red lobster, I'm not sure why I didn't end the friendship after finding this out but, here we are. I haven't eaten from this chain in about 10 years but my memories are that the biscuits were good & everything else is cheap & lack luster. Any who, we ordered. The 2 stars are for the biscuits and catfish which was ok after a sprinkle of Cajun spices. The rest of the food was blahhhh. Packaged horrible, cheap little over cooked shrimp. My baked potato was just a big potato not cut with no condiments. There was an order of fries that appeared to be mostly eaten. Very long delivery time & just all around not worth it. I have been going to this Red Lobster off and in for most of my 45 yr life. Last night was the LAST time. Lets start with what is most evident. The clientele is some of the most rude, unkempt cheap complaining diners around and they like to come in tables of 10 with at least 4 children. We literally had that exact table next to us. But I cannot really blame the establishment for who comes to eat there. Or can I? Maybe don't bend to their every demand for something deducted off their bill. The drinks: My $10 Bombay Sapphire martini tasted like s**t. I asked for dirty and it seemed like it was 1/2 olive juice. The bartender is SLOW. Our waiter was really trying and I tipped him well, but I don't think he was trained well (go figure) and he was in the weeds. But I do not blame him for our experience. The food: I got a mixed grill which is Scallops on a skewer, Shrimp on a skewer, and I upped the entree to $33 with a filet mignon. the shrimp and scallops were pretty good, if a little bland. The steak was AWFUL. I ordered it medium, it was medium well verging on well. It was shoe leather. I am not even sure it was a filet. Oh that's right I ordered a 1/2 doz raw oysters as an appetizer. Well I got 1 dozen... Its not about money, I really was trying to watch my calorie intake, and if it wasn't for the calories listed to guilt me, I would have ordered the dozen. The waiter tried to get the bill trimmed to reflect the 1/2 I didn't order but the manager denied it. Whatever thats not that big a deal, however the oysters were crap. I should not have expected better but I can get great ones right down the street at the Clam Tavern. My dinner companion's food was ok according to her, she got the 4 course feast with lobster bisque and shrimp linguini. It took us 2 hours to eat and get the check. The Check was $93. I have gotten better food from Uber Eats for half that. The table of 10 probably had a smaller bill after all of the deductions. So you ask... Did I complain? nope. I figured all it would do was make people like my waiter feel bad and possibly delay eating and god forbid get invited back with a coupon.. no thanks. besides I could really see this day coming for the past 5 years. Oh I have to comment on one other thing. They added tabletop screens with games and to pay your check. Yeah, that ought to class up the place. I'm a vegetarian, but I was there for a birthday since this is a seafood restaurant. I couldn't be the only vegetarian to dine at this location. My husband wasn't pleased with his lobster mac and cheese. For the price of the meal, it should have been more than simple box mac and cheese with canned lobster chunks. For years we had our Corner Diner for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner; other local restaurants, joints and dives near Stores/Malls, when we shopped at Breakfast time, our easiest meal of the day that saved time and energy for all of us. The trek to Red Lobster would be a needed test run for a Special Birthday Dinner Out. Boy, did we make a big mistake! Pick up a fork from the table and stick it in or to Red Lobster......they are done. Ships have sailed, Bells have Rung, Books have Closed, Blow out the Candles. There is nothing new or exciting, here. The empty smiles have been generously tipped; all due to: force of habit, we might be back, we want to be remembered as good tippers. I've been coming to this Red Lobster locations for years! It's a nice place and it's rare to see a Red Lobster in this area so it's usually really pack and sometimes the wait can be quite long . However I love the food and the service here . I really think the carpets need to be changed, but that's neither here nor there . Food is good and tasty but I'm very traditional and don't experiment much with the menu.This time around, I tried the Salmon for the first time to satisfy a craving and it was ok !!! I definitely give this place more stars because I just overall adore seafood and they are really nice and accommodating . The interiors features low lights and a boat/ sea feeling. They have a full bar feature and during happy hour they have a wide selection of drinks . For the amount of traffic they get, I think they're doing a pretty good job . We went there for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and had a very pleasant waiter named Norris wait on us. He was very quick and polite. He brought everything in a timely manner. Our food came out very hot and was absolutely delicious. My Aunt had broiled Flounder and a baked potato and I had the new Shrimp and Lobster pot pie with hand dipped shrimp. It was delicious. My only complaint was our waiter asked me if I wanted a box to go while I was still eating. I clearly had my mouth full of food when he stopped to ask. I live 10 minutes away and delivery took one hour and 15 minutes, the food was soggy and nasty and the biscuits, I ordered an extra 6, were extremely greasy. Where do I began? Me and my boyfriend visited this location yesterday. There was no wait. Our waiter, I believe his name was Trevor(or something similar) was an awesome waiter. I mean from beginning to end. His mannerism and knowledge of the pairing of dishes was wonderful to say the least. I have ordered two times using door dash. The first time the scallops I paid for were not included with the order. This i ordered shrimp two ways. There was nothing jumbo about the shrimp. The fried shrimp were like pop corn shrimp. The tail was longer than the bite of shrimp. I added a crab cake extra for $6.99 but got a tiny dried out crab cake the size of a quarter.
