***Takeout Review*** I sincerely adore Red Lobster. It's one of the few chain restaurants that I've always enjoyed. The cuisine at this location is pretty much what you'd expect at your typical Red Lobster. As far as the food goes, it was just fine. Nothing extravagant, but I received what I expected to receive. My gripe with this location is that their takeout system is highly disorganized. I placed a pick-up order for their Seaside Shrimp Trip plate online through their app. The quoted time for pickup was about 30 minutes. I actually arrived about 40 minutes later. I know that this is a busy place, so I figured that it might take a bit longer than usual to prepare my food. What I didn't expect was to be waiting in a long line spanning outside of the door for pickup. At first I thought it was the line for people placing orders, but nope. All of those people in line were waiting for their to-go orders. It took over 30 minutes for me to finally make it up to the front of the ordering counter. They only had one person manning the front counter AND taking calls at the same time. She was also putting some of the meals together too. I get it. It's COVID and things are busy and maybe you don't have the staff that you used to. But, why would you only staff ONE person on a Sunday night at 7:00pm to take phone orders, ring people up for to-go, and to prepare the to-go order meals? ONE person??? I just don't understand. I feel so bad for the poor girl who was working all by herself, but I would have never ordered if I had known that it was going to take over an hour to receive my food. What made it even worse was that I had to use the restroom, but they were closed because of COVID. I had initially tried to call to place my order, but nobody was answering the phone. That should have been my first clue I guess. So, if you're planning on ordering takeout, make sure that you call ahead of time to get a more accurate time frame of when your food will actually be done. I'm so happy this Red Lobster is still here located near Olive Garden. I remember the days when I used to frequent both these restaurants in this shopping center back in the 90's when I worked in Benicia. Glad they survived the pandemic. I'm not sure if each chain restaurant has their own safety protocols, as they adhere to the 25% capacity rule, yet Texas Roadhouse was a packed house, no social distancing whatsoever. And they're in the same Solano County. Just FYI, with the limited in-person seating, the wait time might be over 90 minutes. Anyway, our server Samantha was on point. Our seafood dishes came out super hot, can't serve seafood luke warm. Most of all, like most patrons who dine at RL, we came for the fresh out of the oven "biscuits". I ordered clam chowder salad and calamari. I had to send my soup back all three times. It was cold super thick. They need to change the recipe they argue that the soup just came out of the pot. Well, the pot must've been sitting there without heat. The last time I got the soup it had a film across the top like it had been sitting out for at least an hour because it was cold and you could just pick up the top part of the soup with your hands. I know it's a chain, but for many of us growing up in the 80s and 90s this was peak middle class elegance. I still go from time to time if older family members are visiting, but we ALWAYS go in October for the endless shrimp. I mean it's a steal. At 22.00 you get a side (I recommend the small side salad) and two orders of shrimp to start as well as their delicious garlic butter cheese rolls. We go now for my son's bday as he loves it and his bday is 10-11. We went with him and 5 adults. One of the adults did not get endless shrimp but instead some other more expensive dish. We got 4 drinks (tea/soda) and all for under 170.00. That's a great deal. After you finish the first two orders of shrimp they will bring you more. To keep up the pacing we order the next two when they bring out the first two. After that it's difficult to eat more but they will bring it. We enjoyed the fried shrimp, the bacon scampi, traditional scampi, the coconut shrimp and I really like the Argentine shrimp. They flayed/skewered and grilled them with a little char. They do bring it with rice (which is why I recommended the salad). You do need to eat the side that comes with it so keep that in mind. Food - the only good about Red Lobster was the complimentary biscuits and the grilled lobster. Service - horrible service because he did not remove any of our plates before serving desserts. It was almost like I have to clear the table for us and bring it to the back of the kitchen. Regardless with bad service, we still tipped well but I was so against it. Ambiance - the table was dirty and sticky, seats have leftover crumbs from the last group sitting there. The window sills were filled with dust, carpet smells, too dark inside, it was all around yucky. Red Lobster lost its mojo. It used to be a placed to be, now it's a place you should not be. They need to remodel the place, it needs new furniture, fixtures, carpets or new flooring, better lighting, decor needs updating. I don't know what kitchen looks like but I can imagine it needs updating as well and refresh building paint, exterior lighting and upgrade the red lobster brand signage. They also need to revamp their menu to more delicious, healthy, and tasty food. read more

This is a great family restaurant. Clean exteriors and very clean interiors. The menu has a large assortment of seafood and kids love coming in and seeing live lobsters in the tank in the lobby. Customers are always greeted by a hostess at a counter located at the front door. Nataly was very welcoming and saw to our needs. We were told of a wait of 20 minutes and we could opt for a phone call when the table was ready., so we waited in our car to stay warm. Also because of COVID no waiting in the lobby which we appreciated. It's low staffed because of covid so I recommend a reservation. And the kitchen probably isn't getting orders out quickly for the same reason. Our server Gerome is a dynamo. Outgoing, friendly, cheerful, and making every customer feel at home. He was amazing to watch stopping at each table and quickly seeing that everyone was happy. He is a fine example of superior customer service. He did all this without "camping" too long at any table. Our food arrived. It had great eye appeal. The flavors were great. I personally would have made a different soup base for the chowder of cream instead of a roux. We went twice to this place and it never fails to amaze me and my family. My son ordered lobster tail for kids, my husband ordered the lobster bisque chowder and I ordered fish and chips. The lobster tail was so good that my son ate it all up. However, the chowder was too salty for my husband's taste. I personally like it if I pair it with the garlic bread. A few friends and I went here on this last Tuesday night for some happy hour drinks and food. The experience was good. The server was amazing and was attentive to our table. The problem was when we got finished and went got to the parking lot to find that my friends car and about 6 other cars all got broken into. We talked to the restaurant and they didn't offer to help even when they had cameras facing the parking lot. They just told us to file a police report online. So they have had this happen more then once and have no concern for their patrons vehicles. If you want to risk your car windows getting broken into this spot is ok. read more

I know I'm leaving this review on Mother's Day. I am just disappointed with my order. I ordered on the red lobster website for delivery [default to door dash]. I received my order on time from DoorDash. As I was checking my order, half of my order is missing! 3 of the items was not what I ordered. 2 entrees, 2 clam chowder and salad was missing. I called Red Lobster right away and after 10x calling, no avail. So I texted the delivery guy and he told me to contact door dash costumer service. The delivery guy said he would contact them too. :) After talking to door dash costumer service, I was offered a full refund for everything. I wasn't looking for a refund, I just wanted to make my order right. This food order is for my mom who wanted Red Lobster. We couldn't celebrate Mothers Day together since we're both sick, but I wanted to deliver her food since we're 30mins away. I knew I was taking a risk with delivery, with Red Lobster on a holiday. Recommend the garlic option over the other forgot what it was i just know it had a balsamic vinaigrette taste it didn't pair well with the sweet crab. The potatoes were great too probably best I had the crunch was undeniable even when sitting in butter sauce for a while. No comment on the service, it could be better. Today I went to Red Lobster here in Vallejo,CA. I wanted to get "Take Out" using our gift cards, and the only way I could do that was by going to Red Lobster and ordering my food there. So I went into the bar and placed my order. While I was waiting for my order, I ordered a drink from the bar. They have a new young lady in the bar and she made me the most delicious drink. Now my "Take Out" order was ready before I even finished my drink. I couldn't wait to get home and enjoy their food with my husband. Everyone I came in contact while I was at Red Lobster was very helpful and friendly. They told me about their rewards program on their, "user friendly" app. Now let's talk about their food. Our dinner was amazing! I had their grilled salmon dinner with lobster and my husband had their 2 Maine Lobster tails with a baked potato for dinner. We each got to order two sides with our dinner. It seemed pretty empty compared to what I last remember. However , it took 50 minutes to get our food ! The food was good but it wasn't a 50 minute wait worth ! Nothing here unfortunately. My friend and I decided to split a salmon entree that came with rice and veggies. It wasn't bad! She had the mango mojito as well, I stuck with water. Chose this as the place to eat for my birthday dinner. Upon arriving for our reservation, we were seated and given menus. After waiting 15 minutes, we eventually had a waitress arrive and introduce herself and take our order. One of my party members and I ordered a drink and a water, each. I was brought the wrong drink, and neither of us received the water we asked for. Another 20 minutes went by, and our waitress finally came back, I asked for the correct drink, only to be brought the wrong drink once again. We were given a side of fries we did not order. We were also given a side of shrimp scampi and coconut shrimp we did not order. Upon informing the waitress of this, she simply shrugged and left them for us to eat. Thankfully, we did not get charged for these items. I eventually received my water. My other party member did not receive their water. One of my party members informed the waitress it was my birthday. The waitress didn't acknowledge this statement at all and simply chuckled. We saw our waitress a total of 5 or 8 times over our 1 hour 30 minute visit. We spent at least 45 minutes of that visit just waiting for food/waiting to place our order. The restaurant was not busy. We had a total of 2 parties in our section, including ours. To end the night off on a perfectly expected note. One of my party members asked for cocktail sauce for her shrimp. The waitress brought marinara. After waiting 10 or more minutes for her to come back, she was informed she brought the wrong sauce, and the waitress explained, "They look the same." Marinara is hot. Cocktail sauce is refrigerated. We did not tip. This is the 3rd occurrence of poor service at this location. I don't know why I picked this spot again. I decided to dine at Red Lobster -Vallejo on a Monday late afternoon for a couple of reasons. 1. To check out their Happy Hour (they have huge sign saying it's from 3pm-6pm M-F) 2. To help the business stick around as we are losing a lot of businesses in Vallejo. My waitress , Mariela, greeted us and I ordered a Happy Hour drink and to my surprise she stated they don't offer Happy hour on holidays. I asked is that part of the terms and conditions and she stated yes. However, after I reviewed the policy myself no where indicates holiday exclusions. I spoke with the manager and he said that is an old policy and to order off Happy hour. Great! Mariela took our order , I ordered the Monday special Lobster and shrimp which should have been $24.99 or $26.99. The food arrived and it included lobster, shrimp and salmon. I said to my friend oh look there is salmon too. We proceeded to eat the meal and we enjoyed it. The salmon was surprisingly delicious. Upon receiving the bill we were charged for a totally different meal for $44.99. We didn't say anything because we ate it. This was very shady on Mariela's part. I'm sure she would know that we wanted the Monday special and if not she should have at least clarified. I won't be returning to Red Lobster due to the shady practice by this server(starting with the HH). The margarita was awful as well. I can go to Applebees and get the same thing for $3.
