Horrible experience. We have a line of credit and have always worked with a Dallas dealership. Rather than buy there and ship here, we tried going through this dealership. Huge mistake. I've lost a week because they don't know what they're doing. We have a line of credit and refused to give me the info needed to wire the funds. They brought us to the office only to talk down to us. The manager said "I hope this is educational" after talking to us, it was embarrassing. The manager wasn't giving us much info so of course we were skeptical to make a deal with them, told them if we can come back only to be told " I know you're not coming back" by the manager. (So we went to another dealership, very nice representative and walked us through everything and she was very knowledgeable about the cars that they were selling) If you're young and doesn't know much about car dealership please don't go here, they're not very helpful. I went in for a part and not being a mechanic I asked my mechanic when would be the best time to install the part. My mechanic advised me to return the part and get the car get a full diagnostic by the dealership. I want to send a shout out to the three guys at the parts desk. I was very pleased with the customer service and knowledge they provided. here lately parts at the auto stores are becoming less reliable and at this particular dealership they were good honest people and that is who I like to work with. I have purchased parts there in the past but more and more I am seeing myself as a long term customer. Most people always feel that the parts at the dealership have higher prices, but you cant put a price on quality price, customer service and straightforward information! My vehicle was recalled for a transmission problem. I set an appointment, which was one month out. I came in and requested they just do a good once over to ensure I could travel a couple thousand miles due to a military move, and they tried to up-charge me on every single detail. Including a transmission fluid flush for 240$. Didn't offer a loaner vehicle for the inconvenience. Nothing. I have been in the Ford family, as have my parents and grandparents for years. I will never buy a Ford again. I was actually in the market to buy another Ford Escape, but not after today. Red McCombs is trash. read more

ZERO STARS! Experience with the service department was terrible. The service advisor was not competent enough (in my opinion) to handle my repair claim and failed miserably at providing a positive experience. What's worse is my family's safety was put at risk by failing to properly secure 3 wheels after rotating my tires. I gave them opportunity to rectify the situation and was assured my vehicle was safe. I thought we were good. But the next day, it was discovered that three (different) wheels were improperly secured. On both incidents, SEVERAL lug nuts were left "hand loose" causing my vehicle to vibrate and make noise at 60+ mph. This could have caused vehicle damage or injury. No one can seem to tell me how this happened to me twice. Been doing business at this dealership and trusted them for years. Definitely will not return after this experience. read more

My son's car was overheating and losing water every week, I was out of town on business so I couldn't look at it for him. He asked me to write this review because I was an ASE certified mechanic and was a ford mechanic from 1980-1984 before joining the USMC. I told him to look for a leak under the car and also to look for a lot of steam coming from the exhaust pipe. He didn't see any. I told him to take it to a dealer because it was dangerous to drive it that way and I trusted the dealership more because they normally have qualified mechanics with the latest diagnostic equipment. He called the dealership and they told him to make an appointment so they could look at it quicker. He took it to McCombs Ford on interstate 10 near Callahan to have them look at it and give him a diagnosis and estimate. His car was there for four days and still hadn't received a call he had to call them to get an update. Adrian Munoz was his service writer. My son went in and asked Adrian what the problem was. Adrian said they didn't see any water leaking during the diagnosis but the mechanic did see some staining from the water pump but nothing else. Adrian gave him the quote which didn't have any diagnostic tests listed just a large list of parts that they recommend him to replace which totaled $2,958.70. The parts listed included, a bracket, water pump, thermostat, radiator, two insulators, support bracket, radiator tank assembly, and radiator cap. My son called me and told me the cost I told him to check the water every day and when I returned, I would look at it. When I returned, I jacked the car up in my garage and didn't see any leaks so we went to O'Reilly's borrowed a cooling system pressure tester and pressurized the cooling system to 21 PSI which the limit on the radiator. We crawled under the car and immediately found the leak. It was coming from the thermostat housing assembly. We found no other leaks. We bought a thermostat which came with the housing assembly. We replaced it in 1.5 hours, while lying on the garage floor with a floor jack. I filled it up with coolant, pressure tested it, no leaks. He's been driving it for two weeks; the fluid is still full without any overheating issues. The cost for the thermostat assembly and antifreeze was $85.82. After the repair we went to the dealership and spoke to Adrian the service writer. I told him there's no way all of these parts went bad at the same time, impossible! He said that it was because of the mileage, 94k and it would be best to replace all these parts. I told him in my experience that I never had that issue when I was a mechanic. But it had been a long time since I worked as a mechanic for ford so I checked the owner's manual and none of the listed parts are on the recommended maintenance schedule accept for coolant, as expected. I asked to speak to the service manager but he was not available and he told me he would call me the next day. I talked to Isaac, the service mgr and explained the situation and asked for him to refund the diagnostic charged my son was charged which was $198.08 including his 10% for his service in the USAF. He said he would not because he stood behind the quote. I told him to have a nice day and hung up. Just the diagnostic fee would have been approximately $220.00 for a none service member, for a diagnosis, that was not done correctly in my opinion. Think about this, a young man just leaving the Air Force with a family, $200.00 is not a small fee, especially for an incorrect diagnostic charge. Can you imagine him paying the amount they wanted him to pay which was $2,958.70!! I would hope this review will produce change at the dealership. The reason I have spent my time talking to Adrian, Issacs and writing this review is because during my time in management in the USMC retiring as an officer with 21 yrs, and as a logistics manager at a OSS at the Toyota manufacturing plant here in San Antonio, it's important that top management knows what is happening at the ground floor with the customers. I tried to attach pictures of the invoice and the leak I found but the review portal doesn't accept pictures. I'm going to send the General manager, Mr. Shawn Barry, a letter containing this review and am more than willing to talk to him. read more

Doesn't stand behind their work, they replaced my sunroof less than a year later it was leaking. Took it back in and they said that my extended warranty didn't cover a bad seal. Even though they're the ones that "sealed it" Didn't adjust air pressure when rotating tires, didn't fill fluids. Kinda makes you wander what else they forget to do. Salespeople are awesome... Service (specifically the appointment system Ford uses) is infuriatingly dumb and anti-customer service. You make an appointment... only to find out that the appointment you made isn't really an appointment. It's a check-in time with an advisor, to set your car aside for an undetermined amount of time. Why can't you make an appointment for the next available tech - whenever that is - and bring your vehicle... or, you know, actually SET a service appointment?! Every place is busy, everywhere has customers and only so many hours to see them... yet everything else on the PLANET seems to grasp the concept of "appointments" except Ford. You make an appointment over the phone to see a doctor... you show up at your appointment time, only to be told by the receptionist: "Oh, no... that appointment was with me, to carry your file over here. You'll have to wait 4-5 business days to see the doc, depending on schedule." See how &$?! dumb that sounds? So now, I have an in-warranty issue with my car... but have to decide if I can be without it for a week while it SITS on their lot. Can't just make an appointment for next week because... you know... Ford. Sales team gets 5 stars... Service appointment situation gets a negative 3 stars. read more

Wildly incompetent and corrupt. My 2020 Ecosport with 55k miles broke down and was towed to Red McCombs on 8/7/2023. On week 5 of my car sitting there, the geniuses here at Ford decide to pay for a rental thru Enterprise. It is required I rent a Ford product & guess what, they give me an Ecosport. I return that car the very next day because it has mechanical issues. It shut off on me and it was shaking as I slowed down. The service advisor assigned to me is inexperienced and inconsiderate. He gave me false timeframes of repair completion and would often say anything to rush me off the phone. The manager of service department, Isaac made up stories about phone calls made to me about my car being ready on Tuesday 9/26 when I called them about the rental being due and whoever told me the reservation was extended thru 9/29. He is a pathological liar. I had to dispute a $205 transaction with Enterprise because the geniuses at Ford failed to extend the reservation the first time. Today, 9/28, I pick up my car and it has mechanical issues. I do not feel safe driving it any distance. Suffice to say, AVOID this dealership! read more

I brought my vehicle in on Monday and was told that it would be given back to me that day by Joey and we also had spoken that previous Friday, but when I spoke to Javier about the recall's being done I was told that it would be ready on Tuesday, then I waited all day Monday and Tuesday just to be told on Wednesday that they couldn't do one of the recall's until February because the parts that they needed were on reorder! I asked why they didn't tell me that before and was told that they had the parts but they ran out by the time they got to my vehicle! To me that's just not a good business practice to keep the customer waiting just to be told that they ran out of the parts and now they're on reorder! Zero stars.....Within the past 3 years we purchased 2 vehicles from this dealership, since then our vehicles have had issues when taken in for the warranty they claimed no warranty was given. When we asked for the paperwork they continued to give us the run around. Now our second vehicle is in and they claim our bumper to bumper warranty only covers cosmetics. We are concerned as we we were told 4 months ago by an employee that red McCombs purchased many used vehicles and passed them off as certified vehicles to many customers when in fact there was no warranty. Very disappointing service today. I drove in to an empty (no vehicles) service bay. No one came out to greet me. I could see 4 service advisors chatting in their offices. After 10 minutes I went inside. Another 5 minutes later a lady greeted me. I asked to have my Ford vehicle looked at as the check engine light had come on. She directed me to the last office in the roll. When I got back to it, no one was there. 10 minutes later, she noticed I was still standing just outside the office door. She noticed no one was there and told me to just go in and have a seat, that she would page the agent. I heard the page. 10 minutes later, no one had come into the windowed office. EDIT: They paid for the fix. After contacting management.  Purchased a slightly used 2019 f150. The sync 3 screen had a deep scratch down the center. I purchased the truck believing it was just a cosmetic issue, it wasn't. The right side of the screen does not respond to touch. The vehicle is still under the factory "bumper to bumper" warranty and was sold to me in this condition. The Ford warranty did not cover the screen.       The dealership refused to cover the screen because the truck is sold "as-is". Make sure you full check the vehicle before purchasing. The dealership never check the functionality of the screen before listing it. Every maintenance or fix done to a vehicle is money directly in their pocket.  I regret trusting the dealership to do the right thing.Replacing the sync 3 was quoted at about $750 just for the screen.  Pro:  Javier Pena in the Service Department was a really cool guy and super helpful. 5/5. Con:  Selling vehicles with issues and refusing to fix them. read more

Let me start by saying, the last 5 vehicles I have bought were all purchased at one particular dealership chain here in town, this was my first experience with Red McCombs and will probably be my last. The only reason I came here was because the vehicle was for my daughter and she liked the vehicle on the lot. The initial meet and greet was as to be expected. I understand this was a used vehicle and there were some cosmetic damage ( scratches on the paint) our sales rep stated they wouldn't even try to see if they could be buffed or covered up, but did offer to order a paint pen that may work. Well here we are 3 months later and not a word, after many calls (Checked on Amazon and can be delivered in 2 days). We picked up the vehicle 2 days after the deal was made, so they can inspect and put it thru make ready, well that was disappointing to see the very poor make ready job, there were still potato chips under the seat, stains on the seat and just not clean at all (the dealership I normally use gives you the vehicle so clean it appears brand new, but not at Red. Very concerned that their inspection was just as poor. The real kicker was when they proceeded to hand over the keys, they only gave us 1 key and no spare key, when I asked for a spare they said they only had one key and to get a spare its better to go somewhere else because it would be cheaper, (so much for "being there for all my vehicles needs" like the commercials claim. When we got home we noticed a noise from the rear tires/ hub when put in reverse, took it back a few days later, the service dept knew what the problem was and supposably ordered the part, but again that was back in May and still not a word from anyone!! I truly regret not sticking to my gut feeling and just making my daughter select a similar vehicle from the dealership I normally have used in the past. This experience just showed me that not all dealerships are the same and some are truly better and more enjoyable to work with than others. read more

Dropped off my vehicle for service 2 weeks ago for a recall to get fixed. Was told the service would take 2 days. After the 2 days I called and was told it would take an additional 2 days. Which I agreed was fine after that time passed I called and tried to speak with my Service Employee who didn't respond to my voicemails or get back to me until 2 days later. Which then he told me the part wasn't in stock and he doesn't have an ETA, but would most likely be in within the next 2 days. Here I am two days later again not knowing when I will be receiving the car. This vehicle is one of my rentals so currently a waste of money until completion. read more

I started my visit today in the Quick Lane. Very nice setup. Clean and spacious. Walked in and spoke to A Service Consultant. Pedro Juarez was patient and friendly. I told him what the issue with my vehicle was and he gathered all of the necessary information to find out what was covered in my warranty. I had a question about possibly adding a remote start to my vehicle and so he pointed me to the Accessories desk down the lot to talk to RC. I walked the short distance to go and visit with RC Mercado. I'll tell everyone who will listen.... RC is awesome!!! He really really knows his stuff! I can't thank him enough for helping me. Turns out my vehicle had remote start the entire time and I didn't even know it. RC took one look at my windshield and literally saved me money. I bought a used 2022 F150, I inquired and set up an appointment with Zach T. I showed up around 20 minutes prior to the said appointment and the truck was already ready for the test drive. He answered all the questions I had. Got back and ran some numbers and he was honest with me on how much my down payment will go and if I wanted to put more down, and I ended sticking to what my intended down payment was. We agreed on the numbers for my trade in, and I got approved and was sitting signing paperwork by 25 minutes later. PJ in Financing was great to work with. All around wonderful experience, the deal was right for me and they got me in the payment I expected and I also got the maintenance and warranty packages and still stayed under what I wanted to pay. I found a truck on-line yesterday around 12pm. It was priced at $34,989.00. I called to confirm the color and then I made an appointment with a sales rep to drive it the next day. The next day, I decided to talk with the sales rep before driving from Austin to San Antonio about what the walk out price may be. It was at that time I saw they had jacked the price of the car up $600.00! She told me there was nothing she could do about the price increasing within 24 hours. I called and left a message on the GM's voicemail telling him what had happened. I then received a call from another salesperson telling me prices are subject to change. They changed the price of the car while holding it for me to drive. I am calling BS on this very transparent scam. read more

I turned in my car Wednesday 6/2/21 at 8 am which was a scheduled appointment. My 2016 Ford Focus has a recall. Just want it fixed. 5pm rolls around, no updates so I call (second call), left message and received a call stating my car hasn't even been taken back to be looked at. It is now Thursday 6/3/21 at 8pm and still no word on my car. I am a hospice nurse who sees patients in their homes... no way to get to them....no one has said how long it will take to be fixed or what's even the problem. The least they could do is offer a loaner car. After all it's their raggedy car that's messed up! Not any fault of my own! NEVER had this issue with my Lexus. Let's start off with pulling up to the dealership, upon arrival a sales rep will greet you if they like. Ask what brings you in which is normal, but beware! I specifically told them what I was looking for and what I wanted to pay. They automatically told me it was sold which obviously it wasn't. When I called in prior for the vehicle it was on hold for a sales rep purchase. After speaking with a manager I then was told that it was still available but not for sure 100%. (Eyes rolling) another tool to get you to come in. Passing by I decided to stop by, waited and waited inside the building for help, waited some more and finally decided to just call. Called once and spoke to a sales rep about the vehicle I was interested in, he knew exactly which one I was talking about and told me it sold when the manager specifically told me it wasn't at the time. Sales rep pushed on other trucks that I was not interested in and I politely declined. Guess he didn't like what I said but he then said I can't help you and hung up! Lol ok! These reps are not knowledgeable and are rude. Just beware of the sharks and make sure you know how to flip the game on them because by experience they hate that! read more
