This is exactly the hearty lunch after a day of wine drinking that my friends and I were looking for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a lot of seating inside, and a nice patio with umbrellas outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was attentive throughout our meal. Would come back!

I ordered a big burger to eat with fries and I felt very full after it. I could not recall the name because I was too hungry and had dementia to remember ( dementia induced by hunger)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very chill atmosphere with a lot of games going on at once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very attentive, and she was willing to change channels on the TVs to the game that we wanted to watch. Their customized old fashion is great, a lot of ingredients and whiskeys to choose from to make your own old fashioned. Overall, had a decent time here, would come back again when I'm in town the next time.

When visiting Walla Walla I always look for places that provide great food and atmosphere without breaking the bank or being to eclectic with the menu. Red Monkey fit the bill. The visit started with a great beer menu and continued with a varied selection of food...mostly sandwiches and burgers. I went with the pulled pork (Notorious P.I.G.) with fries. I loved the seasoning on the fries and the charred cheese on the sandwich. The setting is very nice, too. Plenty of big screen TVs to watch the game.

Good service. Food could use a bit more flavor/spice but overall experience is great! Repeat customer for sure!

Wonder inspiring historic building that has been transformed into a uniquely intimate theater…read more I have watched a rock production two years in a row, and have LOVED our balcony seats. Every seat in the house looks to be great, next time I will buy floor seats to confirm. Check out all floors, and every little book and cranny you can, there are so many little surprised, especially for the architecture buff.

Recycling, Upcycling,…read moreResurrection. Call me a fan. In 1892 (yes, 1892, son!!), the Walla Walla Gas Plant opened for business...not for art, but for amps, volts, and ohms. (well technically, it was a gas plant first, but then began to sing the body electric in 1905). :::: Fast-forward: 2011 :::: This is when this art decco powerhouse transformed to a stylish playhouse in the style of Shakespeare. This theater had been on my radar for the last couple of years, and my timing just never worked out for venturing down to the hills of wine and to make a visit to the theater....until Winter 2012. On a blustery cold evening, I needed to make a trip down to Walla Walla. I made myself go. I had to. NPR advertised about the Power House's production of "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play!", for weeks, and I was intrigued and pulled Walla Walla-ward. I was interested by the production, but I was also looking for an excuse to case the joint! ;) I love old theaters (especially if they've been renovated Gangnam Style...sorry, just wanted to say that phrase...not sure who reads these reviews all the way anyway!) ;) The renovation, I believe, is still a work in progress. I heard they are still working on the roof...and the audience & actors noticed this throughout the evening as the winds howled and banged on what seemed like only a tin roof. (A member of the staff came upstairs to the balcony and offered seats downstairs to us if we were too cold. I didn't mind, but some took him up on his offer---I wanted the full environmental experience! I wanted the chance to tell stories about way back in the olden days when I went to the Powerhouse to see a play, and how the roof almost blew off!) Other than the roof, the facility is top notch. (well, I think the roof adds character along with the expose brick, too). From the lobby, stage, seating, to restrooms, the facility is updated with modernity. And that's what I like. The duality of a renovated structure is attractive. I can't wait to come back for a Shakespearean or modern play. You'll find me looking for excuses to come here again, and again---look for me in the balcony!

The ambience is modern and clean, but the restaurant is in a large space, and the tables are nice and spread out, so you don't feel like you are on top of one another. All the staff was super friendly, and one neat thing about this place is it has an open kitchen, so you can watch them cook and prep. Even with the open kitchen, the restaurant is not super loud over overwhelming. The food was amazing! It had unique dishes and and staple dishes so there is something for everyone. The appetizers were my favorite. We tried both the ahi nachos and the savory panna cotta with some pita. Both are must tries, but if you have to choose only one, get the panna cotta. The sweetness of the berries and honey with the saltiness of the cheese and pistachios is perfection. For my main I had the New York steak which was cooked great. I was in the mood for steak, and while my steak was delicious I definitely want to go back and try more of the entrees. Then for dessert, we had their take on a sticky toffee pudding and it was the perfect way to end meal. Salted Mill is a must try in Walla Walla.

The 1st time I went, not long after I moved here, I got a burger at lunch time. I remember thinking it was meh. The meat was dry and the bun was stale. That's about all I remember. 2nd time, I got their version of Eggs Benedict. The eggs were overcooked (jammy-to-dry yolks) and the cheese sauce was terrible. 3rd time was the salmon filet, which was significantly undercooked in the middle. 4th time, I got the Country Biscuit Breakfast: gravy was terribly salty and the scrambled eggs were rubber. Tonight, it was the corned beef hash with two poached eggs and a Belgian waffle: the hash was more green pepper than meat or potatoes, the "poached" eggs were white hockey pucks with completely solid yolks and the Belgian waffle was a fluffy waffle-shaped pancake, no crispness on the outside at all. The waitstaff are fantastic and extremely nice. The setting is ... dated, but serviceable. The place is still better than the truly awful Denny's in town. I really hate ripping the place because the folks are so nice. I guess I'll sum it up this way: I've never had a truly bad meal at Clarette's, but I've never had a truly good meal there, either.
