So the sushi spot is in with the café inside the Gaylord hotel. It's really hard to say this is a sushi place considering the options are for literally 4 options of simple sushi rolls like a tempura roll, and a spicy tuna roll. For the grand price of $18 each. Both of our photos are from other items on the menu. The seared I he tuna was pretty tasty but $438 I've definitely had much better. Of course this is all to be expected in a resorts hotel like this. No surprises here just go in with proper expectations.

Not really worth trying. Went here alone on a business trip. Ordered the shrimp app. It was a decent size. The flavor was present but not wow for what the writeup in the menu had. I ordered the ahi tuna main. That had a nice color and presentation. The wasabi should have been stronger and I felt it needed some pickled ginger w the pickled radish again just for more character. I got the chocolate oreo dessert and expected it to be warm. It was cold and wet. Not good. The staff was attentive but the shirts the hotel gave them felt like they were still from the 80's. Not terrible but I also have to take the cost into account. That said, keep moving but nothing in this hotel is cheap.

I visited Wasabi's Sushi/Cascades American Café while staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center for a work convention. I had an early dinner with some coworkers on our last day at the hotel prior to leaving Nashville. We had a pleasant experience, with generally good food and impeccable service. Some of my coworkers ordered burgers from the Cascades menu, and myself and a couple others opted for sushi. It's nice you have the option to choose both while dining at one location, as (unfortunately for them) plenty of people don't prefer sushi. Between the two menus, there would be something for anyone (although the sushi menu is somewhat small). The coworkers who chose burgers said they were good. We started with Edamame, which with two orders was plenty for the five of us. I chose the Spicy Tuna roll and the Crazy Ari roll. The Spicy Tuna was okay, but a little on the fishy (in a bad way) side and thus I didn't finish it...kind of disappointing. The Crazy Ari (recommended by our excellent server) was delicious, especially the sauce. As far as options within the Gaylord, Wasabi's/Cascades is a solid choice. It was definitely pricey, but the portions were decent, and the service was excellent. I would maybe recommend sticking with the Special Roll options. The ambiance was very nice; waterfalls all around, and really nice tables, some in cozy little nooks nestled beneath the rocks of the botanical garden. I would imagine these would be especially nice for drinks in the evening. I would generally go with 3, 3.5 stars, but I bumped it up to 4 based on the level of service.

Decent sushi. Good service and great views of the hotel gardens from the restaurant. Good place to grab a meal if you're staying at the Gaylord or visiting.

Wasabi's Sushi is located inside the Gaylord's Opryland resort. We decided to stop by for dinner while we were exploring the resort area. Everything about the resort was beautiful. The decoration, the ambience and the theming was nice. The wait staff was fine. However the food really wasn't that impressive. There weren't a lot of sushi options and they definitely were authentic Japanese sushi. It was mostly Americanized grocery store sushi which is expected at a resort like this but the food didn't fully disappoint and was still good. However I will say it is definitely not worth the price you are paying. I think you are often paying for the experience and the convenience in the resort than the food. I would recommend finding another place in Nashville if you are looking for sushi.

    Spicy tuna roll

We started with the mushroom bisque which was amazing. However, when we receive the sushi we were extremely disappointed. The shrimp roll was edible, but so-so. The tuna was absolutely disgusting. Horrible quality, smell, texture, everything. We couldn't eat more then 1 bite. The waiter didn't care or ask us how it was even though he was extremely chatty up until seeing our uneaten meal and still charged us for it. I would NEVER come back for sushi. Also, they advertise "proudly serving Starbucks" but every location they have has been closed since we've been here.

Yummy!!! The best food I've had at the resort! The sushi menu is small but delicious! The group of 5 each had something different with no complaints & even returned for seconds! The shrimp tempura was my favorite!!

Outlandishly pricey but the sushi was good. Their spicy tuna roll was in a chunk style so the heat was a quick punch and not spread throughout a smooth filling. The eel and tuna nigiri were both really nice. $10 for 2 pieces is crazy talk though but the heart wants what the heart wants. At least they have sushi. Service was pleasant. 3.5 stars

    Spicy tuna......
    Wes N.

Wow. Where do I begin. Let's start with the nigiri: Tuna (maguro) was not fresh (most likely frozen) Hamachi (yellow tail) was near inedible. Salmon was the only decent nigiri....maybe 2* ....and ohhhh boy....the poke. The poke was simply not good: it had mayonnaise, fish was old and gooey. Not happy to write this review but if you have had sushi and are looking for authentic sushi...please stay away.

Wasabi's and the Cascades American Cafe share the same menu. When you don't expect anything or in this case, expected a bit the worst, coming from sushi backgrounds and San Francisco, Nashville hotel sushi? Crazy right? But no, the Shari, sushi rice was seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Tuna was yellowfin fresh, dense and meaty unlike frozen Saku blocks which is normal too. Salmon was Scottish or Norway, fatty good, hope they froze it for a bit as required by health department. California rolls used good Kanikama, Osaki perhaps, is the best imitation crab stick and also I liked how they kept it clean and not mixed with kewpie. Tuna poke bowl was cute and little. Burger wasn't rare as we ordered but it was flavorful. Banh mi was a good try with brisket. A bit dry but ok. Wael from Egypt was very friendly and good service provided. 5 star for surprising good sushi ingredients.

Mmmm I really enjoyed this place. First off the ambience here is amazing, you overlook the water and the gardens and it's just stunning. We stopped in mid day to tour the hotel and were hungry, many of the restaurants in the hotel aren't open at lunch but Wasabi was so we decided to give it a try. Their menu is a unique blend of sushi and other Asian fare as well as more Americanized sandwiches and such. I had a bowl of the crab bisque and tuna nigri sushi. My friend had the soup also and the vegetable spring rolls. We loved all of our food but that soup was amazing. The only downside was that a bowl of soup was actually the size of a cup, it was very small and quite steep at $10 for what you got. But everything was delicious and service was great. Our server was very helpful in making sure I knew which items were gluten free. Great experience and is definitely come back.

Worst place for sushi ! Kroger even have better sushi than this place! I was so disappointed when I took my family from out of town here. What an embarrassment.

Turkey burger - make sure you get the potato salad!

While attending a conference, along with 9000+ other photographers, at the Gaylord Opryland, we happened to stumble upon Wasabi's. It had one of the shorter lines for seating - only a 20 minute wait. We got to eat here twice during our stay. Both times the service was a bit slow but, again, there was a huge conference going on so it wouldn't surprise me if they were a bit overwhelmed. The first time we ate here, I ordered the kale salad with chicken. The dressing was a little heavy handed, but otherwise, it was a really good salad with slices of grilled chicken. The second time, I had the turkey burger. This was a little disappointing. The pattie was almost flavorless. There was very little seasoning - in fact, the only "flavor" was from the brie used for cheese on this burger. The bun was soft, fresh, well toasted and the aioli was....okay. The real winner of the plate, though, was the potato salad I ordered with it. While it was heavy on the mayonnaise, it was VERY good. Nice, big chunks of potato that was cooked well - firm, not under or overcooked. Like I said service was a bit slow, but they were every bit friendly. Prices are.....well, they're hotel restaurant prices. I'm sure you can figure that out. We never got a chance to try any of the other places in the Gaylord, but I'd be willing to try them if they're as good as Wasabi's.

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. I highly recommend trying this place out!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.

The only shock was the tax rate which couldn't be explained by the waiter other than to say that's how they maintain the roads. On a bill of exactly $100, our taxes added $14.09 to the total. It's definitely not the restaurants' fault, but TN or Nashville specifically needs to address the 14.1% taxes on a restaurant bill. It's egregious, but again I can't fault the restaurant hence the 5 star review.
