Wonderful experience! My family came here for dinner and ordered entrees from the Greek section. They came with a soup or salad and Greek bread. The young waiter was very nice answering our questions and providing veggie and preparation suggestions for the dishes we ordered. My first time trying a crepe. Wow! It was light and fluffy filled with strawberries and berries, topped with whipped cream. I raved about their fish snd chips as I'm not a breakfast person but so glad I was today. Our server, Jihad, was so friendly and fast with our order. Checkout person very welcoming. Jan 10 th Something got flushed down the toilet and backed up the pipes. The restaurant had dirty sewage water overflowing the drains in the kitchen all day. The cooks were standing in dirty, smelly water while making food and the wait staff was still serving guests. John the owner, never closed the restaurant. He was there and allowed the restaurant to stay open. He had staff slipping around in dirty, smelly water all day. Employees were slipping and falling all day. He didn't care about anything but staying open to make money. Your health and cleanliness was not a concern to him. All menu prices are wrong and guests are charged more than what they are initially expected. None of the prices are up to date. read more

They have a fantastic chopped salad that I find myself thinking about often, Pete's chopped salad. It has so many wonder flavors: feta cheese, diced celery and beets, Kalamata olives, red onion, fresh dill, and cucumbers. You can add chicken if you'd like, which is seasoned with an amazing marinade. Topped with their freshly made Greek dressing and a warm pita on the side, that's a great meal. You could definitely share with 1-2 more people the portion is so generous. The baklava cheesecake is also amazing and delicious I highly recommend both! read more

Red Olive, I originally found this place online because I was looking for a gluten friendly restaurant in the area. Located in the same strip center as Kroger and Dollar Tree. Red Olive is a nice dive. The food is priced just right and it actually tastes great. Every time I come in I get the Gluten-Free pancakes with scrambled eggs. The pancakes taste fluffy and must have a hint of cinnamon in there. I personally like them and for just around $11 for both, I think it's a fair price for breakfast. This place has plenty of other options to choose from such as Gryo's, *Opa, salad, sandwiches, etc. plenty of parking, great location, the inside of restaurant is warm inside with dark brown chocolate wooden tables and seats. We popped out of the office for a quick and healthy lunch. My friend suggested this restaurant since we were both going the salad route and this place has a nice selection. In fact, an entire page of the menu was devoted to salads: Greek, Cobb, Fattoush, Caesar's, and Chef's. As well, there were specialty salads like Waldorf's and Taco. I went with a grilled chicken salad that included avocado and mango. It was colorful, flavorful, and most important, healthy. In addition to salads, the restaurant is a typical Coney Island diner, with all-day breakfasts, burgers and deli sandwiches, and tempting Middle Eastern specialties (saganaki, tzatziki, falafel, and stuffed grape leaves). In fact, during lunch, a loud "opa" sounded from a neighboring table when the saganaki app was served. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and appeared to be fairly popular. In fact, we ran into another friend and opted to eat with him, despite the fact that he was halfway through his meal. Hopefully, we did not hold him up too much, as we caught up with work. Our server was amiable; she engaged with young children at a nearby table. I went to get Saganaki opa cheese it was really good. I also ordered a Chicken Quesadilla it's good but very dry not hot just luke warm a bit of a turn off. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad I only ate a small piece I boxed the rest to take home. I'll pop it in the air fryer it'll be fine. I knew I would get full from the Saganaki but I also knew I would want more food so I didn't want to order my usual which is the Cod fish dinner which is awesome but comes with a lot of extras that was too much for me. On the handle is the burnt cheese. Final outcome returned didn't reorder the cook had the nerve to say he remade it fresh. You can clearly see it was not remade fresh. Clean place, good portions and very good service!!! A little bit on the coney style restaurant. Today we had the spinach pie with rice and vegetables And the meat gyro with Greek salad. Also rice pudding as dessert. For the most part I like it. Tasty food, good portion and kind of fast to tell you the truth. Service was good, I asked questions and the server answer with knowledge and recommendations, on the down side the salad was made with iceberg lettuce, which is not a big deal but it would have been better if it was made with romaine or the Boston type. Well, the Snicker Bar Cake is pretty good. Once I found out this "family restaurant" is a diner (is this the code name used in Michigan?), I adjusted expectation accordingly. With a menu that is literally a book, I asked the wait staff for her recommendation of what's different and unique in a Michigan diner, she said this place is known for salads and Greek food. The dish Greek combo came with a bowl of soup, it was very salty like the chef forgot to dilute soup concentrate salty. Moussaka and Pastitsio could use some nutmeg in the Béchamel sauce, as it is a bit bland. Gyro meat is the processed ground-and-molded kind, like the ones you get at most US gyro shacks. As a diner, I wonder how this would rank against other diners. Greek food is meh. read more

The food is just meh. The menu is extensive and they present you with a book to order from with hundreds of choices. I've been there twice and have experienced cheaply prepared food a felt kind of ripped off. The saganaki is a complete rip off. I was really hoping for delicious homemade items and ended up with GFS garbage. The dining room smelled like cigarette smoke. I notified two members of the waitstaff and was quickly dismissed so I went to the front desk. I spoke to who I assumed was the owner. He tried dismissing me but then quickly blamed one of the other patrons for smoking in the bathroom on occasion but then did nothing. It really smelled like someone was smoking in the kitchen. Took my daughter and her friend here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Both her friend and myself wanted the chicken Caesar wrap, but asked if the chicken could be fried. Note: they also serve a fried chicken wrap (with ranch, not Caesar). The waitress said they could and that was that. When the bill comes, there is an additional $4.00 "open food charge". When I asked what that was, the waitress said it was to fry the chicken. So, they essentially charged $2 a sandwich to substitute chicken for chicken. Had the waitress actually told me it would be $2 more, I would have just ordered the fried chicken wrap in the first place and saved myself money. I thought it was very shady that the upgrade wasn't disclosed at the time of ordering. On the plus side, the wrap was delicious. So, I'm $4 short, but 100% wiser. Stepped in here for a breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was a little busy but we were able to find one of 2 tables left. The server was attentive and kept the drinks filled. The bathroom was OK for an adult but not clean enough for a kid to use, so we went elsewhere for the bathroom. I wish family restaurants had family restrooms in addition to their standard 2. Food wise we had the kids pancake which was shaped like Mickey Mouse. It came with sausage or bacon of which you could sub Turkey Sausage or even sliced tomatoes we choose the sliced tomatoes. You could a so get whipped cream or sprinkles on the pancake. The server recommend the Red Olive Omelette as it was a popular item on ther menu. It comes with Avocado, fresh spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and feta cheese. The omlette is filling and although it's a big omlette it's not the largest I've seen at this restaurant. Overall this is a great restaurant it has a huge menu and a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner that would satisfy many tastes. read more

I've eaten here a few times, and every time has been just phenomenal. Every dish I've ordered whether it be a burger and fries, a chicken and cheese wrap, a simple soup and salad, they've all had quite a taste to them. It's not your average bland diner. However I don't think they recognize the fact that they are indeed a diner. A bit pricey, the chicken wrap and burger were at a price where you'd think it included fries or chips. Unfortunately that was not the case, a la carte if you will. I don't think a simple diner/coney meal for one person should be $15-$17, depending on tip. I was surprised by how large the menu here was...it took a very long time to decide what to eat. I thought it was just a standard coney but it's a coney plus middle-eastern place with a decent american food menu too. I just ordered a chicken cesar wrap & some onion rings & both were good. The wrap was big, I made 2 meals out of it so that's always a plus. My friend ordered steak & shrimp & said it was pretty good for a diner. I'd eat here again though I still prefer Holiday Grill across the street which we forgot closes at 8 on Sunday & that's why we ate at Red Olive to begin with. We ordered 2 slices of pies for dessert to take home...I had the peanut butter pie which was VERY yummy & so rich I ate that for 2 days. My friend had the chocolate lover pie & raved about how good it was. The decor in the restaurant was nice & it was clean, the service was quick & our server was very friendly. I felt terribly that we were only able to leave a $3 tip & our bill was over $40 which I thought was pretty high for a diner & we only had $45 on us. Normally we are much better tippers...I dug every quarter I had out of my purse too but we had planned on eating at Holiday & they are quite a bit cheaper but don't have as good dessert (which is probably why, ha ha). read more
