Their food was good. A little pricey for the amount.. Not a lot of food for what you pay for. They took a while to just get out drinks and appetizers. Basically had to wait 10minutes just for a glass of water. The waitress we had was slow at getting our order and food. Very nicely decorated though. Kind staff as well. I wasnt very impressed with the food, although it was good. Like stated before, its kinda pricey for not a lot of food. They cooked my son's meal after all ours. And then as we were there several (more than 4 men) walked in without masks and no one asked them to put one on. When I inquired about their policy to wearing masks, I was told it was not a law and they would not refuse anyone service weather they did or didn't wear a mask. Red Olive used to be my favorite restaurant. Their Greek Salad is the best there is! BUT every single time I place a carry out order, it's wrong! I'm not making crazy modifications, I'm simply asking for no chickpeas on my salad, or no tomato in my quesadilla... It's not brain surgery! Even though it was not busy at all, we had to wait to be seated (Actually had to wait a couple minutes for the hostess to appear from the back; we almost left at that point). Chicken wraps are good. I really dislike looking at dirty tables while I'm eating and there were a few in the restaurant that sat unattended the entire time we were here. The waitress finally came back to check on us when our food was almost gone, but she did bring water refill at that time without me having to ask. Had to wait again to pay and leave since nobody was at the cash register/hostess station. Might give the place one more try, just in case this was an off-day. Then again, maybe not. I ordered the Greek Combo. When my plate was served to me, it was missing the Moussaka. While I was waiting for the waitress to return to find out how everything was, I was picking away at the Pastitsio and the Gyro meat. When she FINALLY came back around, I told her of the issue. When she returned, she told me that the chef informed her that he did indeed put the Moussaka on the plate. I told her that there was never any Moussaka on my plate and that I was finished with that dish. She said she would take it off the bill. When she brought the bill to the table, she dropped​ the bill on the table and snidely said "have a blessed day". I took the bill to the hostess to pay and saw that she had taken only 3 dollars off the bill. When I asked the hostess about it, she said "well, you ate everything else". I told her no I didn't, that I had only eaten about a quarter of what I was served. I believe the accusation was that I had hurried up and eaten the Moussaka clean off the plate and tried to get a second helping, which was not true. This is no way to treat a customer. I will never go to a Red Olive again, nor will I recommend them.​​ read more

Wow big disappointment with this order. Fattoush salad had so much spice (sumac) had to pick out all the pita strips and carefully work around the lettuce. Once again, I am more than impressed with this restaurant. Hubby and I stopped today for lunch. We both ordered the baby chicken fruit salad and soup. It is a lunch special and very reasonably priced. We both had the veggie soup, which is delicious and is a very generous serving. When the waitress brought the salad out everyone, including the waitress, was impressed. Whoever assembled the salad had taken the time to place slices of strawberries all around the rim of the bowl. It was gorgeous and absolutely delicious. In my opinion the customer service and quality of the food at this location is excellent. Cold food, Terrible service. Only a few tables with customers. And to not be asked how your food is or even offered a drink refill is unacceptable. The server never even brought the check. The Promised Gyro skillet at $10.00 a pop was everything but a Gyro anything. The three eggs were cooked a little too much but I still got some yolk out of it. The veggies and mushrooms were delicious and so was the flavoring of the dish. However, the title said "Gyro". Gyro was in the meal but it was diced so small that you taste everything else but the Gyro meat that I Love was lost. I honestly thought it was the chopped mushrooms. Way disappointing. Next time if I come back, I'll get a Gyro ( the cheaper of the two that they offer ) "The Best." The larger is more costly but it just adds lettuce and feta cheese. Risk. Not impressed with another visit to the Red Olive. The waitress was okay but hey she might improve too. Update: As I paid my bill and the teen age cashier asked how was everything, I said "Disappointing! She smiled, took my cash, handed me my change. She gave me the standard cliche " Have a Good Night." Not one concern why I wasn't happy with my meal. Folks, I was a Host at a local Coney Island and cashier as well. This was very disappointing that I don't recommend this place to anyone now, and that's not me! ...Now as I drive home, I kick myself for not taking a photo! This is the poorest Review I have ever given a business. The Skillet dish was served on a plate, no skillet in sight. The food under the eggs were MINCED, no wonder I couldn't taste any gyro meat, the potatoes stole the show. The over priced egg dish offered no toast nor a pita to go with the meal. Forgive me, the Pita(single) cost an additional 75 cents! Really? Enough...I am finished with this place. This deconstructed omelet is a Greek Tragedy. Ordered chicken nachos for my child nachos had what looked like two week old ground beef as well as dry chicken, chips were beyond able to be eaten. My wife's chz burger looked like it was cooked as the building was being built around it. The meat loaf sandwich that I ordered looked like someone had poured pepper flavored crude oil on it to the point that the only thing hiding the ice cold mash potatoes was the flavor of black pepper. Firstly, the floors are rather dirty, and the bathroom not well attended to, for being such a new restaurant (built over the last 3 months). I'm not sure if this was a function of coming in at 6 PM and they hadn't cleaned yet, but it certainly didn't bode well. The service was atrocious; the hostess, the waitress and the management. The hostess was obviously not experienced. As a family of five, we appreciate it when the restaurant we choose to eat at doesn't sit us in a booth meant for four people in the back of the restaurant where we don't get any attention whatsoever. For our first time at this restaurant, this is generally a bad sign. The same goes for the waitress -- at least that's what I hope. I had to literally stand up and ask for the waitress to come over and refill our drinks, as waiting 15 minutes and finishing my meal without her even checking on us was irritating. She wasn't busy, there were multiple wait staff attending the 5 - 7 tables that were occupied. The management is also lacking at this restaurant, and the policies are poor. If someone orders a medium plate of hummus and pita for $7 or $8 they expect more than one piece of pita -- this isn't the airport. Then, if you ask for more pita, they charge you. That's a ridiculous policy, it's flat bread, and people are paying significantly more for the hummus than what you would charge anywhere else. Also, why is a kid's minute maid lemonade from a fountain machine more expensive than the adult fountain drinks? I don't really care about nickels and dimes, I just notice which businesses are nickel and diming me and which aren't, and don't buy from the ones who do -- they're obviously desperate. Finally, when the manager asks "how things were" when we were leaving, and he gets a reply "not great," that might have been a hint to actually ask more questions, or even proactively apologize. Letting customers walk out fuming doesn't do anything for your business. The food was the only thing I didn't have a complaint about -- it wasn't the finest of meals I've ever had, but it was decent food, and the kids meals are a good value. Had the service end of things been an average experience (not even to say, if it had been spectacular), I would have rated this a solid 4-stars. A bit of advice: I think this local chain is over-stretched and needs to be revamped. If the quality is going down at each additional restaurant you open, you may want to pause and rethink before you get into a situation where you're angering your customer base. I eat out 3 - 4 nights a week with my family or when I'm travelling. I will not be stopping here again, and if I'm saying that, how many others are, too? read more

I'm shocked at any negative reviews here. Every time we come the food is hot, fresh and delicious. The staff is some of the friendliest people around. Get Aaron, we always hope he's there when we go. The management is exceptional, I really love their interaction and kindness. Way to go Juan, my favorite manager! The restaurant is clean as a whistle. I'm never looking to make sure my silverware and glassware is clean, you just know they pride themselves on a clean establishment. I saw them washing walls tonight for gods sake!!! Huge portions for fair prices. I'm not sure where the comments on too high prices come from, it's fresh, homemade food. You want McDonald's prices...go to McDonald's! Service is excellent and food is very good. Gyros and greek salads are perfect. Breakfast is the best in town. Favorite thing to order: Fattoush salad with grilled chicken added- sooo much flavor and so healthy. My only wish is that the Fattoush in Howell was like it is at Red Olive in Dearborn with larger cuts of tomatoes/cucumbers/peppers (and MORE veggies), but there's plenty of garlic to keep it at the top of my list. Hoping they get it up to the more authentic Dearborn version for the Howell location because it's such an easy fix. read more

First time here. Sunday lunch. Ordered Reuben. Wife ordered Turkey Rueben. Took 15+ minutes. Obviously sat under heat lamp since top bread was toasty but buttom bread soggy. Definitely a solid 4 stars. I have never dined at a Red Olive, so I am pleased to say that my first experience was a good one. The restaurant was very clean. We were seated and attended to promptly. Our waitress was very helpful and efficient, going out of her way to help us figure out whether or not the soup we were interested in was made with a meat or vegetable base. We ordered the saganaki as our appetizer, which was very tasty (but could have been a little browner and crispier, but overall tasted great). For our dinner, we ordered the vegetarian gyros, and they were huge, packed full of veggies and feta, and very tasty. My only complaint was that one of vegetarian gyros didn't have onions on it, after we had asked for extra onions. That just may have been a miscommunication issue, but nothing that I would hold against the waitress or cooks, or the restaurant as a whole.
