Oh but when they brought my spare ribs out with garlic (lots) of garlic mashed potatoes and a side of French green beans. THE very best ribs I've ever had, and I've had ribs from all over the country. Fall off the bone, by them selves, juicy and so tender. Did I mention fall off the bone juicy and tender? I came from out of state and this was the first restaurant my family and I went to. We had just came from a long day of hiking mount Washington and we decided to give this place a try. We were sitting there for quite a bit waiting for the waitress to come take our drink order. My mother and I both got the salmon and they both were very burnt, top and bottom. My mother took a bite and she told me it was absolutely terrible. I told the waitress and she gave us both new salmon, still burnt but a little less than before. We were starving and exhausted from the hike earlier that day and just decided to eat it and get out of there quickly. The salmon was still horrible tasting; like burnt cardboard. It had no taste other than the burnt taste. My mother and I both agree that this was by far the worst salmon we've ever had in our entire life's. So sad and upset that my husband and I were there tonight and were completely ignored by the bartender, as she took care of both of the very nice couples beside us. She made a point of going over to them several times and we sat there with no menus, drinks, etc. it was when she asked the couple next to us if they wanted a second round that I finally said "can we get a drink"? Very good. I have been to New Hampshire more times than I can count in my lifetime and have never stopped here. We had a party of 8 and we're told it would be an hour. We decided to wait because the restaurant had a cool vibe. 20 minutes later we were seated. Cheryl, our waitress was great. The food was all delicious. I had a blueberry sangria which was to die for. Loved the pub atmosphere. We sat outside and it was nicely shaded. We went on a Saturday evening (early) and had lovely service and food.

Salad bar was so small and barely had any options. My waitress i forget her name was not friendly at all, she just comes takes your order, bring your food out, and gives you your check. She didnt make you feel welcomed at all. I had a bad experience with my food, I ordered the land and sea special and food what looked like facial hair in my scallops!! i was asked if i wanted a new order but at that point ive already lost my appetite and wanted it removed off my bill which was a hassle! i didnt understand why since i didnt even get to take one bite out of my meal! My daughter and I stopped here for an early evening dinner and say out on the back patio. Haddock fish tacos were amazing! So much fish! Ambiance is fun and tuckermans ice cold. Such character inside as well. Never saw the normal dining room but the pub is awesome. read more

Came here without any research when another place was in a long wait. So glad we did. We are a family of 5 and the Red Parka Pub delivered delicious food for everyone in our party! The kids had typical kids menus far, but the chicken and waffles (mine) and the fish tacos (for the wife) were so flavorful. They were certainly unexpectedly delicious. We came in a. The space itself is a bit dingy, as it hasn't been updated in well over a quarter century. It can be good, if you know what to order and what to stay away from, so its a real life 3.5 stars. The french onion soup is always stellar here, with a deep beef broth and onion flavor. The steak marinade and teriyaki are always seasoned well, nicely charred, and cooked to the proper temperature. The cuts are always different, so sometimes you might receive a bigger portion than others, and the sides aren't all that exciting though. The real star here is the mud pie, which is more of a coffee ice cream cake than a pie, served with hot fudge; its a guilty pleasure. read more

We did order a ribeye and it was large enough to split for dinner after each getting an appetizer. The steak was cooked well and finely seasoned, but could have been seasoned a little heavier. RPP is the best restaurant in the valley! My family has been coming here for years and we ALWAYS make sure to go for dinner. Personally I go for the king cut of prime rib with the salad bar. The meat is always cooked perfectly and the chilli bacon dressing on the salad bar is to die for. They only have the prime rib Friday, Saturday, and Sunday while supplies last. If you're around the other days of the week, not to worry, everything on the menu is top notch! Make sure to save room for desserts, the Mud Pie and Celestial Cookie could be a meal by themselves, but are a required part of the experience. The people are incredible and very very patient, especially with big groups and kids. I recommend RPP know matter who you are!! read more

My only complaint was that there was a screaming 4 hr old who was extremely disruptive so shame on the parents for not leaving. But it was so bad that management really needed to address it. After hiking Mt. Washington, we headed here for some beef to fill the stomach. Nothing else was going to satisfy me after that trek. This was my first visit. From the parking lot it wasn't evident that they have outside seating. I was a bit bummed but we went inside and were seated. Lo and behold I noticed on the menu that they do, indeed, have an outdoor patio. Yay! It was a beautiful afternoon and the interior was way too dark and dreary for my taste. We proceeded to head outside and I was in love. The patio is secluded with fencing made of skis and the tables are spaced out nicely so you're not on top of your neighboring diners. How nice is that?! Our server was spectacular, showing up when needed and paying us just the right amount of attention. The menu is very diverse; I didn't have problems finding something that caught my eye. Thought about prime rib or pasta but no, I came for steak. They had a special of a rib-eye dinner for around 26.00. The steak was cooked the way I ordered and was a decent size (don't remember exactly the size) and came with a potato and veg. I got the baked potato and the veg of the day was green beans. It was excellent. So much so, in fact, that I ate every single morsel on my plate. (Ok, in fairness, I had just hiked Mt. Washington so would have eaten a whole plate of most anything.) I also had a bloody mary with requested celery which was quite tasty and spicy like I like it. The dessert menu looked devine, but, alas, no room this time. Keeping this restaurant on my radar for after-hiking. Nothing better than sitting outdoors dining on great food afterwards. read more

Been coming here for over 40 years, always had a greet time in a fun environment with nice employees, and good food. Tonight was just a complete and utter fail on all accounts. The 4 of us (2 teens and 2 adults) were sat at a table in the glassed in pub area. We asked if the salad bar was open, and were told "no and its never coming back, it take a whole person to man it every night and we don't have the staff for it" fair enough but the tone was that of a host that hears this a lot and was annoyed by people asking. Server comes, she has zero personality and an overwhelming sense of dreading her job. She never once the whole time smiled, interacted in a way to maybe boost your potential tip, just a girl there to do a job she appeared to hate. Anything we asked for (a fork and a napkin) seemed to displease her, and annoy her even. The chicken parm was not edible, it was soggy wet and bland. It was plated on a plate far to small for it and the pasta witch made it very hard for a teen to cut and eat without it going all over him. Two adults got the ribs, they tasted ok but the actual bones were soft and squishy and if you bit on by accident all the mushy marrow ended up in your mouth, very unappetizing and we have never had this happen before. Told the server about the chicken and ribs she again had no personality, did not care whatsoever, asked if we wanted something else but we were all turned off by this point. Onion soup was bland, wings were good at least. She took the chicken off the bill, thanks I guess. On the way out we mention this to the host and once again we got a person who just didn't care. "Oh sorry" we were told. I get it, covid messed things up, anyone can be a server now, regardless of how well or not you do your job. Do not recommend this place any longer...sadly to say. read more

Yum!! After a long day in the woods or skiing this is the place to be. We ate in the pub part, service was a little slow but the food hit the spot! My dad got prime rib, my mom got a cheeseburger and I got the chicken Dijon meal. I was pleasantly surprised by my meal. When I first got my meal, it was just a piece of chicken and some french fries. BUT, the taste made up for the lack of presentation. Chicken was cooked to perfection, and the coating was just the right balance of bread crumbs, honey mustard and sour cream. It made it so it wasn't dry at all. My parents got beers and I got the Raspberry twist, very good and recommended for the full pub experience. Bands usually start at 9 pm if you're looking for some entertainment too. read more

Fun ski bar with live music. Originally, we wanted to eat in the restaurant because we didn't realize that the bar had a separate entrance. Then we were given a wait time of 40 min and told to go wait in the bar. So we went back outside in the single digit temps and found the bar entrance. Unfortunately, there was a 30 min just to get into the bar! While waiting in the lobby, we decided to get a table in the bar so we could listen to music. My friends weren't too impressed with their food. I had the 3/4 rack of ribs and I enjoyed them. The drinks were reasonably priced. I thought the staff were all friendly. I think people tend to inflate the reputation establishments in old ski towns. Maybe it's nostalgia or pride. Really, I don't know why people speak so highly about the food. It was above average - I had no problem with it. Just trying to temper expectations! People on the chairlift might convince you it's a must-see and I disagree. read more

The Red Parka Pub is always a great take. We love the salad bar which is always fresh and kept clean. You also get freshly made bread. The steaks are excellent - always cooked perfectly. They also have numerous seafood selections as well as a few chicken, pork, and vegetable options. We are usually too full for dessert but have had the Extra Terrestrial before (A Reese's pieces ice cream sandwich) which was so yummy! They also often have pies and cobblers made with fresh local fruits. The wait can be long at prime times (they do not take reservations) but it will be well worth the wait! We had been here in the past and the meal was fantastic, atmosphere was great in the restaurant, food was awesome which is what brought us back this time but our experience this time was terrible. It started with the dining room being closed at 5:30PM on a Thursday. We reluctantly sat in the pub instead and should have left as soon as we heard the dining room was closed. The pub was noisy, cheap seating, everything you would expect from a pub and nothing you would expect from a "Steakhouse". We both had the French onion soup and it was terrible, it had no flavor, the crouton had to be cut with a knife and was hard as a rock. We took 2 bites and didn't eat them anymore. The waitress didnt even ask us if there was anythign wrong with them so that was a $16 waste. We both got the steak tips which were not bad but the atmosphere just ruined the meal. $40 steak tips in a pub just don't mix. I may try them again if they open the dining room but otherwise, they should change the name to Red Parka pub and drop "Steakhouse"! read more

Bartender gave me a free drink and then 2 minutes later another tender grabbed it from me and ridiculed me. Infront of the whole bar for no reason. Good vibes until that. Why would you give me a free drink if your going to take it from me 2 minutes later and cause a scene after we did not do anything. I was not trying to get another drink, I was trying to close out... for 30 minutes. And then they have the audacity to make a fool out me in front of everyone for no reason. We visited this place because it was near the location we stayed. The wait time was less than 5 minutes. When we set down the waiter was super friendly. Unfortunately I was seated under the AC on the ceiling and it kept dripping cold water on me. But not that big of a deal. I just pushed over a little. The food came and it was delicious. Despite the fact I had to send my food back because my steak was undercooked. They did bring it back on point and with refreshed sides. We had the celestial cookie desert. I don't even know where to start here. To start our waiter was easily the best if not the second best serviceman I have ever come across. His name was Charlie and I have to tell you I hope his parents know what a great kid he is because wow he was amazing I couldn't believe the service he provided it was incredible. Also the nachos were amazing and the wings were some of the best I've ever had. The burger could be better but hey nothing is perfect. What I will say is that I would go here again tomorrow to see Charlie and I live in Boston. It was a packed Saturday evening and the kitchen was backed up, we certainly understood this and it wasn't an issue for us as we had no where to be. The food however was a big issue. My husband got the steak marinade, it was dry and had no flavor. The cheddar baked potato was ok. And the green beans were undercooked. My son had the stuffed chicken. It was not overly hot, very dry, and the breading was burnt. His green beans were also over cooked, and his fries were cold and had no flavor. I got the beef soup that was on special, it was warm, not hot. The flavor wasn't bad. They did allow us to get bread from the salad bar because of the wait which was also very good.
