We were disappointed in our recent visit to Red Prime. We were celebrating a birthday, and we just walked away feeling let down considering the cost of our meal. The service was good, and the atmosphere was good, albeit a little dark in our room. Our steaks were good, but not great. We love trying different corn dishes for our side when we visit prime steakhouses. This one was not very good. I will say that the chile mac and cheese remains my favorite thing on the menu. This place is very over rated! We ordered the Top Sirloin steaks and they were tough with a lot of gristle! We had the asparagus as a side which was so tough I couldn't bite thru it! My brother was looking for some place special for his birthday so we decided to take him to Red Prime and as usual I was impressed. This was my 4th time and I've not been disappointed once. Our server, Andrew, did a wonderful job guiding us through the menu and off-menu specials. He answered every question and was most helpful making cocktail suggestions. He was also very patient with us as we were the last ones there at the end of the night. I had the prix fixe with beef tenderloin tamales, 14 oz ribeye, creamed corn and chocolate dessert. He had the bone-in cowboy ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus and his date had a ribeye as well. We had various crusts and sauce and everyone enjoyed their meal. Red PrimeSteak is my go to steakhouse in OKC. I do enjoy some of the other places such as Mahogany but this is my personal preference because of ambiance and service. read more

The party before us ran super behind and we weren't sat until 9:30pm, the restaurant closes at 10. Our apps were delicious. The crab cakes and caviar dip were two of my favorites! I highly recommend grabbing drinks and appetizers from here. I wasn't the biggest fan of my main entree, the Lobster Crusted Sea Bass, a solid 4/10. The taste of butter was overwhelming. We went to Red PrimeSteak last night to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a special experience! We had a private room upstairs, and when I sat down there was a "Happy Birthday" paper signed by all the staff--such a thoughtful touch. For starters, we tried the beef tenderloin (gluten free), and when it came out, the manager made sure to let me know it was the celiac order, which I really appreciated. The tamale was a little tricky at first, but once our server explained how to open it, it was easy--and totally worth it. I shared bites with my husband and family, and everyone agreed it was absolutely delicious. For my main dish, I went with the 18 oz bone-in Ribeye, paired with smoked bacon creamed corn and mushroom risotto ( both gluten free) with bone marrow butter. Both sides were rich, flavorful, and amazing. Since it was my birthday, they surprised me with a complimentary gluten-free dessert--a crème brûlée for two, topped with fresh berries. It was heavenly, and I shared it around the table (with lots of happy spoons joining in). Our server was fantastic--he made sure every order was perfect, every bill was correct, and even took a family photo for us at the end. He suggested the staircase for the picture, and he was right--it was the best spot. The restaurant itself is dimly lit with a modern vibe and lots of red lighting, which really adds to the atmosphere. I took my mom to Red for Mother's Day and it was just very mid all around. The hostesses weren't very friendly and seemed like they had better things to do, the service from our waiter was okay. He was nice but missed and forgot a couple things and they were brought late to the table and he spoke really fast and was hard to follow when he explained the menu. The food was just okay, nothing blew me away and the flavors were basic. My shrimp was dry and my steak was cold, while my side dishes were super hot. I came here as a surprise for my husband's birthday and it was amazing! All of the staff was so nice and greeted us warmly. Everyone had signed a card for him and made the evening so special overall. The prix fixe menu is fantastic!! It has gotten more expensive over the years (thanks inflation) but is still a great deal. I love that you can substitute sides that are on the main menu without extra cost as well!! Red has been my KRYPTONITE lately. Last week, it was Red Door Grille and now Red PrimeSteak. Had a blast for my birthday at this steakhouse. Walked in, got seated, immediately the waitress complimented me on my RED bow tie, which I personally picked out to wear for this special occasion. Deja vu all over again and my heart sank the second time. At this rate, I might have a premature heart attack soon. My mind told me again, "Oh no, this is going to be another 5 stars. Nothing else matters, not the food, not the service, and definitely not the ambiance." Or is it? We all got the Basil Hayden Old Fashioned and we all liked it. Everything was going great until the jumbo shrimp cocktail came out. Decent size but ONLY 5 shrimps. REALLY? Luckily, the sides (Brussels sprouts and asparagus) were fairly shareable as they were of decent size. I had the wagyu filet 8 oz. This was one of the best piece of steak I've had. The steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The steak was soft and melted in your mouth with each bite. LOVED IT. We got a free dessert for my birthday so I picked the Baked Alaska. The candle/light on the dessert was awesome, much better than the dessert itself. Sometimes during our dining, another server from a different section came over and complimented on my bow tie. I was really looking forward to dining at Red Prime Steakhouse, but unfortunately, the experience was pretty underwhelming. Our waiter was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and definitely the highlight of the evening -- but that's where the positives ended for me. My wife enjoyed her crab cakes and the rolls, which she said were tasty, but the rest of the meal fell flat. The steaks were bland, with very little flavor other than a strong smoky taste. The Brussels sprouts were also under-seasoned, and the corn -- more of a southwest-style corn than a creamed corn -- just didn't have much flavor. The loaded mashed potatoes were great, but it's hard to go wrong with those. For the price point, I expected a much higher-quality meal. Honestly, I've had better steaks and sides at LongHorn for a fraction of the price. Also, if you're looking for a true fine dining experience -- maybe for a date night or special occasion -- this might not be the place. The atmosphere was much more casual than expected; several guests were dressed in regular clothes, some even in flip-flops and hats, and there were children dining as well. The entire staff was very welcoming. Our waiter, Brison was knowledgeable and answered all our questions regarding the menu. He was attentive throughout our dining experience. I ordered the Red Mojito that was an absolutely delight! My husband and I both chose to order from the Prix Fixe menu. He ordered the Chop House Salad for his appetizer. It was plentiful and delicious. The warm, herbed rolls were mouth watering. He ordered the 7oz filet (medium-rare) with no crust or sauce so he could taste the quality of the steak. It was perfect! He also loved the Horseradish Potato Gratin. I had the RP's Tomatoes which was their version of a Caprese salad. I forgot to take a picture of the appetizers but we would order both again and again. I feel like I had the star of the show with my Lobster Crusted Seabass. It was absolutely delectable and perfectly cooked. My side item was the Bacon-Sherry Brussel Sprouts. They were good but I've had better. To end the meal we ordered the Chef's Sorbet which came with a scoop of mango, strawberry and raspberry sorbet with fresh fruit. So good, but the warm Chocolate Spoon Cake was great! This was our first time at Red Prime and won't be our last. If it were just a little less expensive we would be regulars. read more

The Prix fixe menu is the way to go. It starts at $78 with 4 entre options. You can upgrade the choices for more and you can add additional items for a cost. My favorite is the sea bass with lumps of crab ($12 additional). The starters are salads or RP's tomatoes. I chose this but may opt for a salad next time. There were 3 tomatoes 2 fried (one green one red ) and one red uncooked with balsamic drizzle. It was a small portion in comparison. The sides are pretty killer with flash fried spinach, asparagus with quinoa, etc. The warm chocolate spoon cake is brownie with ice cream and is mouth watering. I may come back multiple times just for this. Service is top notch and atmosphere is very classy. read more

We came here to take our family out for a nice dinner r while visiting OKC. We made reservations, but were seated almost 30 mins late. It was all worth it in the end though! Long story short, this place had amazing and attentive service and great food! For starters, we all ordered drinks. They were kind enough to make me a non-alcoholic cocktail made with ginger beer and some sort of fruity mix. It tasted absolutely delicious! An old fashioned, red mojito, and Malbec were also ordered. These were all fantastic! The Malbec went really great with the steak from what I was told by those who ordered. For appetizers, we ordered the jumbo lump crab cake. It comes in 3 but they added an extra because we had 4 people so everyone could just get there own. They also presented it to us on our own little places. The crab cakes were very good! Very flakey on the inside with the right amount of crisp on the outside. For the entrees, two of us went with a pre-fixed choice menu for ~$65 that included a starter, entree, side, and dessert. I chose the RP tomatoes, 7oz filet, side of green beans, and the chocolate spoon cake. For the crust and sauce I chose the fresh cracked pepper crust and roasted poblano chimichurri. Warning: the chimichurri sauce was spicy! Everything was cooked very well! The filet was cooked perfectly for me, and was very flavorful. I love that they offer the different crusts and sauces! My sister in law ordered the tamales which were FANTASTIC! Must try! She also got the 7oz steak with the guajillo Chile crust and the black truffle butter sauce. The crust was very flavorful and not overwhelming or spicy! The only complaint on this meal was that she asked for medium well and the steak was brought out almost as rare as a medium rare. It was not that big of a deal to us though. The other two ordered the dry aged ribeye and the NY strip, with a variation of the same crust/sauces as the filets. The only complaint was that the dry aged ribeye was over cooked, but we were told that that's what the dry age comes out as when medium rare. It was still very flavorful and the crust was perfect, so we kept it! The staff was very helpful during this. For sides to share we ordered the flash fried spinach and the truffle marrow risotto. The spinach felt a little out of place with the meal. It was very on par with kale chips and although it was tasty, it just didn't go with our meal. The risotto, however, was DELICIOUS! So creamy and rich, and enough for 4 people to share! I would highly recommend it! For desert, we got the chocolate spoon cake and the crème brûlée. Both were delicious!!! Be warned though that the spoon cake has walnuts in it (which we did not know from the pre-fixed choice menu). The crème brûlée is a must try!!! Super creamy & definitely more than enough for two people! This has probably been our favorite steak experience in OKC so far! Me and my husband came to Red for our anniversary and had a mixed experience. While the staff were lovely and really professional, the food had some problems. Most of it was delicious and worth the cost, but we had a hair in our burger and the baked Alaska dessert was clearly not freshly made (tasted quite old). The restaurant is beautiful, and it's very modern and spacious. I took a friend here for their birthday, and we ordered off from the Prix Fixe menu since I think it's a great deal. For a high-end establishment, our server was just okay. I chose the beef tenderloin tamales as a starter, and surprisingly it came with two tamales that were generously filled with meat and toppings. And to save room for the rest, I boxed the 2nd one to go. The tamales were probably one of the best I ever had, very unique from traditional tamales. However, after that appetizer, my dining experience went downhill from there. The rest of the food was heavily salted, and that is one of my pet peeves when it comes to food. So my friend and I had a hard time finishing it. The meat was somewhat tender, but again, it was so salty. And the roasted garlic crust (a slab of thick garlic sauce) I had chosen for steak tasted very bitter, and their red steak sauce was similar to an A1 sauce, so I was displeased. I gave up at this point, but my friend was like, maybe dessert will be great. Well, the warm chocolate cake was very mushy and lacked that rich chocolaty flavor. After our server asked us if everything tasted okay the second time around, I finally told him that the food is extremely salty, and he said he would let the kitchen knows. It turns out that they took care of our dinner and only left us with the drinks. I think that was very generous of them, and I didn't request anything, so I feel bad since it was a considerable amount. Overall very impressed with this place! The prices for the quality is great and service was spot on! Our whole table ordered the Prix Fixe and all were very happy with the quality of everything! I personally started with the French onion soup, which is one of the best I've ever had! Then for my entree I got the 7oz filet medium rare, it was absolutely delicious! It was definitely more on the rare side but I didn't mind. I added on the lobster tail, it was tasty and a good portion. I was so full on all the food that I didn't end up eating any sides but the slivered asparagus looked awesome!!
