Redrock Canyon Grill - Lake Hefner First visit--and I can confidently say this place just earned a spot in our regular date night rotation. We walked in to a packed house, which is always a good sign, but were seated immediately. From there, the experience never missed a beat. Beverly took care of us and was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaged. You can tell when someone enjoys what they do, and it shows. We started with margaritas, and when Beverly said they were "perfect," she wasn't overselling it. Smooth, well-balanced, and served ice cold. We're both olive fans, so of course we asked for extras--and they delivered without hesitation. Going in, we made a deal: appetizers or dessert--not both. After hearing about the pineapple upside-down cake with vanilla ice cream, that decision was made pretty quickly. For the main course, Beverly walked us through the menu and the weekly specials: * Rainbow trout with roasted peppers and cucumber salad * 14 oz peppercorn crusted steak with mashed potatoes, broccoli & parmesan I know my wife--steak was the obvious choice for her. I went with the trout. Both dishes were excellent. The trout was cooked perfectly with a light, flavorful sauce that didn't overpower the fish, and the vegetables were fresh and well-prepared. The steak was cooked just right, full of flavor, and paired perfectly with creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli finished with parmesan. What really elevated the night was the hospitality. Kirsten, the manager, stopped by to check on us and took the time to have a genuine conversation. She shared details about patio seating and upcoming live music nights, which we're already planning to come back for. Then came a surprise--she graciously covered our dessert. A classy move that didn't go unnoticed. And that pineapple upside-down cake? Warm, soft, topped with melting vanilla ice cream... absolutely worth skipping the appetizers for. The Bottom Line: Great food, exceptional service, and a relaxed but polished atmosphere right on Lake Hefner. I used to be able to count on Red Rock Grill for honest meal. Stopped by today and ordered the Fish Sandwich off the weekend brunch menu. It was served on a smallish hamburger bun and the piece of Grouper was only about 1/2 the size of the bun.... Maybe 3-4 oz. It was a bit fishy as well.... The fries were cold and limp. We've visited here a few times and it's great every time! The wait staff are friendly, the food is great, and the view is the BEST. This past visit I got the Redrock Continental and my fiancee got the Deep Dish Quiche. Both were great! I've also had the French Toast and that is delicious. This place is so freaking good! My coworker and I decided to try it a couple months ago and loved the chicken so when we were back in town again, there was no doubt we were coming back! The chicken is flavorful and juicy and the potatoes and carrots were outstanding as well. Everything has so much flavor! When we were there last, they had cabbage as a side and it was so good too, was hoping they had that again but the carrots were just as good. Must try place! read more

This is a great spot on Lake Hefner for dinner, drinks, or both! They have a really nice and spacious patio overlooking the lake. On Thursdays, they have live music and their outdoor bar is hopping. The band tonight was Weekend Allstars and they played some great tunes from the 80's. It was such a fun vibe. I just had the Calamari and it was excellent. The sauce was a roasted tomato with a subtle jalapeño kick which was delicious. The staff was outstanding and remarkable during a very busy night. I'm looking forward to going back! read more

Red Rock for me means wonderful ribs or steak cooked to perfection. The servers have never disappointed me because of their warmth and appearing to like their jobs. They are all about the customer. The food is outstanding and the outdoor patio is beautiful and inviting especially at dusk and after dark because there is often a breeze off Lake Hefner. A great spot for a date or get away spot. We ordered calamari while we waited, but the dish that truly stole my heart was the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and carrots. We went here for dinner on a business trip. One of my coworkers is a local and chose the place for the lake vibe. Everything about the place was decent. Modern decor, a wood fired theme and the lake created a nice upbeat ambience on a Thursday night. They had live music on the patio, which was a nice addition to the evening. The band was very good and played a good mix of music for the evening. Our server was outstanding. She was very helpful and explaining the menu, very attentive and overall did an excellent job with everything. I had the Wagyu beef and shrimp with the tamales. It was a fun dish with an interesting combination of foods. I ordered the Wagyu beef rare and it was cooked perfectly although a bit under seasoned in my opinion. The chimichurri sauce on it was a bit lackluster. I felt like it could've done with some fresh herbs and a little bit more of a zesty flavor to it. The shrimp that accompanied the dish had a Cajun spice rub on it which tasted very good, but the shrimp were a little bit overcooked. We did have a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and that was OK. The shrimp were cooked well, but a bit bland. Getting back to the main course...I'm used to tamales being stuffed with something whether it be a form of meat or something else but these were just the corn masa which I feel was a missed opportunity. They were a little dense and could've used something inside of it to break up the masa. My coworkers ordered the rotisserie chicken and the ribs. We all shared a little bit with each other to try. The ribs were good, they had a nice bark on them. That was slightly caramelized, and the sauce was sweet, but not overpowering. I would've liked them better except they were cold, which was a disappointing start to the meal. My other coworker had their rotisserie chicken which I almost ordered and I'm glad it didn't because it was a bit dry and it would've been disappointed, considering that was something that was supposed to be featured on their menu. I also had a mock tail, which was a bit uninspired, it was a coconut pineapple margarita which really felt like they just mixed to syrups together, and that was it. It wasn't done with much thought in mind. To me it felt like you're at a run of the mill Woodfire themed restaurant that's trying to feel a bit upscale but missing the mark on creating a truly remarkable experience. read more

I'll start with the good. Service was great! Especially coming from young guys and girls. Atmosphere here is great. You can spend an hour eating and another hour walking around. Food is about a 3... maybe a 3.5 considering I've only tried 2 dishes here. The deviled eggs looked great but it wasn't the taste I wanted when I crave deviled eggs. It tasted like potato salad in the filling and placed on a bed of beans and pico de gallo mix. It was eatable. I ate it all. Just not what I was expecting from deviled eggs. The meatloaf was recommended and I found it to be quite heavy on the sweetness and the tomatoes. Mashed potatoes on the side were very bland. Glazed carrots were probably the best thing I ate here. Will definitely come back here if in the area next time and order something different. Seating took a while even with being in the Que had to wait over and out for 10 ppl. Overall food was great. Wings (a special) were on the smaller side but very tasty. Ribs were a great portion. I try to have a meal here every time I'm in OKC. Met some friends a few weeks ago while visiting, for a Tuesday HH. We ended up getting a table and had the most FABULOUS dinner. Our waiter, Ethan, was amazing, my steak was mouthwatering. Could have passed on the cabbage and carrots but that was only vegetable choices. Potatoes were excellent. This was unfortunately one of the worst dining experiences we've had at any Red Rock Canyon location. The atmosphere felt chaotic and disorganized and honestly more like an IHOP on a bad day than the restaurant experience we've come to expect. Our server brought the wrong rotisserie chicken salad along with my dinner, and it took a very long time for the correct order to arrive. By the time it did, the experience was already soured, and I barely had time to eat before needing a box. The ribs were overly fatty, and the chicken was cold. Considering the bill was over $100 plus tip, it felt like a complete waste. We've had excellent experiences at the Wichita and Norman locations, which is why this was especially disappointing. This was our first visit to the Lake Hefner location, and sadly it missed the mark in every way. I even reached out through social media afterward and never received a response, which is why I'm sharing this here. To make matters worse, after handing over our card, it took more than 15 minutes just to get our check back. Overall, it was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience, and not one we would choose to repeat. read more

I've been going to Red Rock Canyon Grill for years, and for a long time it was one of my favorite places in Oklahoma City. What made it stand out was that it felt like an elevated dining experience without being overly formal -- great food, attentive service, and an atmosphere that always felt a step above the typical bar-and-grill restaurant. Over the past 10 years though, I've noticed a gradual decline in both the food quality and overall service. Nothing catastrophic, but enough that it's become consistently noticeable. On several visits there have been forgotten items from the kitchen, mistakes with how food was cooked, or little things missed by the wait staff. More than anything, it feels like the attentiveness and attention to detail that once defined the experience just isn't there anymore. It's still better than most chain restaurants by a long shot, which is why this is disappointing to write. But honestly, there have been times recently where I've received more attentive service at places like Chili's, and that's something I never would have imagined saying about Red Rock years ago. I'm writing this because I genuinely want to see them get back to what made them special. It's still a beautiful restaurant with a great location and a lot of potential, but lately every visit seems to come with some sort of issue, and it's kept me from going back as often as I used to. I hope management takes a step back and refocuses on the quality and consistency that originally made this place such a standout. read more

Got on the waitlist before we got there, once we checked in at the restaurant, we waited only about 10-15 mins and was seated even with 91 parties in front of us in the waitlist. They were so quick and kind and our food was out in a snap. We were in the restaurant for only about an hour. It is so beautiful to sit right by the lake. read more

I recently posted a negative review and the GM Jordan quickly reached out and offered to make up for the bad experience. She seemed to genuinely care about what we encountered and asked a lot of questions. I agreed to return and give it another shot since my experience was most likely an atypical event. Starting off, I already knew as long as nothing disastrous occurred, I was going to write a positive review since any time a manager or owner reaches out and shows that they respect your time and patronage, it's an automatic positive. That being said, Redrock Canyon Grill exceeded my expectations. It wasn't an exact comparison to the previous negative experience since this time was dinner and last time was lunch/brunch, but it was damn good. Our server Trent was very confident, knowledgeable, and attentive. For appetizers, we got the Deviled Eggs, Stuffed Poblano, and House Salad. My girlfriend was already addicted to the house salad from previous visits, so that was naturally a hit. The deviled eggs were perfect. I'd say I prefer my deviled eggs to 90% of restaurants, but I liked these ones even better than my own. The stuffed poblano was really tasty and MASSIVE. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye with extra sauce to dip. It was delicious. I actually like it better than a ribeye I ordered here before, which although good, I felt was a little bit boring. So I totally welcome the addition of this ribeye and will order it again. I'm a sucker for sauce and I actually took the leftover sauce home and threw it on some other meal. My girlfriend ordered the filet and she also thought it was delicious. I was drinking a lil bit so I forget what else she said about it, lol. For dessert, we had the Key Lime Pie, which was as expected, but delicious. Overall everything was phenomenal and we'll be back. Regarding the previous negative experience, I think it's natural for this to happen to every restaurant once in a while, so I don't blame them at all. What matters is that management responds to these situations and handles them professionally and with care. At this price point, I think it's important for customers to feel good about the money spent, and in this case I think Redrock has succeeded. Food wasn't bad, service was great. But they couldn't locate a single high chair that was actually complete with strap locks. I have twin 18-month old boys - getting them to stay seated every 5 seconds is not ideal and overall stressful when looking after two at a time. After paying $300 for a meal, you'd think they could afford functioning high chairs. They obviously do not care to cater to families with young kids. Just be aware if taking high chair aged kids. read more

Our experience at Red Rock Canyon Grill was exceptional. We sat out on the patio and the weather was perfect and the lake was beautiful. We ordered the perfect margaritas and we ordered the shrimp appetizer to start with. Both the drinks and the appetizers were outstanding. For our entrée. We had the special crabcake dinner with cucumber salad. The crabcake and the cucumber salad were both delicious. I would recommend those highly. We brought our out of state friends here to enjoy a great last OKC meal and an unforgettable sunset. The 2 stars are for the ambiance only. Not sure what is happening here. All 4 of our orders were OFF. Be warned they are adding things to the meal that are NOT LISTED ON THE MENU. FAIL #1: I got the kale and chicken salad. Essentially no kale at all. When the menu said "fresh herbs" it failed to mention the extremely potent addition of MINT. Why, I don't get it? Plus lots of other things were thrown in it like grapes. It tasted like it was supposed to be an Asian dish, not a kale salad. I only ate a few bites and after taking it home, threw it out because the mint just ruins it. I'm all for making creative flavors, this one does not work. FAIL #2: My friend's salad had jicama in it. A weird addition that also wasn't mentioned. She hated hers. FAIL #3: Wood grilled sausage dish. Hubs cannot have sugar and they added BBQ sauce to it, which 99.9% of the time has sugar in it. Again, not on the menu otherwise he wouldn't have ordered it. FAIL #4: My other friend got the evening special that included a small steak and the rotisserie chicken. The steak was overdone and lifeless. Glazed carrots was more like soup on the plate. To say this was an embarrassment in front of friends is an understatement. Please stop taking liberties or update your menu to accurately reflect what is going to show up on the table. read more
