We ordered delivery last night, and I got the smoked wings and pork ribs plate with cole slaw and sweet potato fries. The delivery was on time and the food was great. The wings and ribs were prepared to perfection, savory with sweet, and I enjoyed the sides as well. They have a good kids menu, and my son enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Just tried Red River BBQ and grill on Mason Rd. The brisket was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of bark with a great smoke rIng while remaining very tender. Brisket was good by itself but even better with the sauce they provide on the side. The sausage also had a good flavor while the ribs were meaty, tender and equally tasty both dry and with their sauce. For sides I had the pinto beans and potato salad. It's hard to pick just 2 sides from their list of options. Both were tasty, but crumbling a little of the cornbread muffin that comes with the plate in the pintos puts them over the top for down home like you're Momma used to make flavor. Highly recommend this place for BBQ if you're in the area. The sides were cream corn & mashed potatoes & white gravy.. The cream corn was good, nothing to write home about. The potatoes & gravy, Eh. Potatoes were hard as a rock, and the gravy...Eh. 3 stars and have visited several times. I wanted to love this place as it's really close and the atmosphere is good. However: Barbecue is subpar. Moist brisket has the outer edges "bark" that felt and tasted like black loose skin. I've been eating brisket for 40 years and have never had anything like this. Sausage - Not tasty you can swing down to Nonmachers, Rudys or Midway and get much better product. Service - it's hard for me to tip because you pay at the counter and they deliver the food and that's pretty much it. Positive note chicken fried steak and Ribeye are very good. Customer service is meh. Gave 2 craps, at best. Had the chicken, ribs and brisket. The chicken was like any other bbq chicken, you can't really mess it up unless you dry the hell out of them. Ribs were good, not overcooked (you can tell when they fall off the bone with no tug.) The brisket... the brisket... I wanted to punch a goat. That's how damn good the brisket was. When I ordered it, they asked me how I wanted them, lean or moist. Umm, moister than an oyster homeslice! The most tender brisket I've ever had, hands down, in my pants. The wife and I stopped on a Tuesday afternoon about, 5pm to eat. We were greeted when we came in by a friendly cashier who took orders. We both ordered the catfish, slaw, fried okra (excellent) it came with two large filets and hush puppies. Neither of us could eat the whole meal, so we took it home for leftovers. We have ok experiences with their BBQ spuds in the past, but today we received a spud with VERY little meat. When we showed the hostess, she explained to the chef the problem. He said this is amount we always give. I explained we come here often and have never had this little. He then proceeded to just put the fat and grizzle of the brisket on the potato to kind of shut us up. They just lost a loyal customer. It was around 6:30. read more

Pretty good place. I had the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. The bbq sauce was sweet and tangy. The brisket just right- juicy but not too fatty. My husband got the ribs and wings. He liked it, but said that he would have preferred a bigger plate. I had the peach cobbler because I've been craving it for a while now. It hit the spot. We sat outside so that the kids could play in the sand. Flies were a problem, but that's what I get for being outside with food in the Texas summer. Next time we'll eat inside or at least by a fan. Live and learn. The waiter came by only once we were done with the meal. If we had needed something it would have been annoying, but for today it worked out ok. What can I say... over the years the customer service has gotten horrible. I've been offered more store credits and gift cards I should be part owner. How simple is it to just get an order correct. Whether I order on door dash, order pickup/ curbside, or order to go 80% of the time my order is wrong!!!! Which always lead to having to drive back to the restaurant or reorder on door dash to get the correct order. Obviously management is okay with giving out free food over and over. It's a simple concept accurately READ the orders. Put your phones down and stop conversing with each other and pay attention! This is ridiculous. I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore or ever again. The customer service is awful and at a time when people may or may not be working or have the money to afford to eat out as frequently, but they choose your place of business only to experience poor customer service, while spending hard earned money. Such a shame this place use to be awesome. Now, not so much. read more

This is for the Red River BBQ on Mason Rd. in Katy. For $60, this had to be the worst excuse for BBQ I have ever tasted. The skin on the pork ribs was like jerky, it came off in big chunks as soon as you tried to take a bite. The rest of the rib was dry, it was like it was YESTERDAY's ribs re-heated and sold as take out. That way the person gets all the way home before they realize they were given crappy old dried out ribs. The sausage was just ok. The cole slaw was the worst I ever tasted, it was basically poorly shredded cabbage with no flavor!!!!!!!! Harris County BBQ is way better, I will go back to them and say adios to Red River - poor example of BBQ. Save your money - go elsewhere for good BBQ! read more

The person that referred this place to me said it was better than Rudy's. It's not only better, it far exceeds it. The ribs are the best I've ever had. The brisket is as good if not better than Oak Lodge in Dallas. The sampler plate was out of the park delicious. I highly recommend this. The service is what you would expect. The manager (Carrie) was very rude to me when i simply asked for ranch and pickles because of the person i was with. we were also called a waste of space and also judging someone at our table because of his tattoos.. i think as a manager you shouldn't be rude bc of your own issues therefore be nice to your customers.. also she did have a attitude with other customers, nobody really seemed too happy with her service.. but other than the incident the food was great and all the employees were so sweet!! especially kaylee, eli & stephen.. they were the best and kept checking on us to see if we were good! couldnt ask for better service from them! read more

Nice place, decent service, yummy fried pickles, BBQ and sides...terrible!!! My husband and I ordered the beef plate (or whatever it's called) each with potato salad and Mac and cheese. It took awhile to get to us, so when it arrived we were hungry and dove right in. Instead of being slices of beef, we had this mushy, fatty slop on our plates that was barely edible! It was basically what they had scraped off the top of the brisket. Not a good first impression at all! I don't know how they get by serving that stuff. Mac and cheese was ok, the potato salad was a strange consistency with a weird flavor and the jalapeño cornbread it came with was cold. After spending $40 on food and then barely being able to eat any of it, I don't see us coming here again. read more
