We frequented this place several times when it was the El Dorado Casino. This was the first visit since Bally's has taken over a few years back. The great news is that Ben still works here and you would do quite well to request him as your server. It was his recommendation to get crusted blue cheese over my ribeye and I've enjoyed it that way ever since. Since we decided to drop in last minute we had James as our server and he did a fine job for us. $50 for a ribeye. $11 for a wedge salad (yet even more blue cheese....LOL) and a side of mashed potatoes ($12), and Brussels sprouts ($12) were more than enough to share. It was late in the evening and we were one of the last tables seated. A few of us in the party had comped dinners. My wife and I charged it to the room. Was about $93 and we left a $20 tip. The ribeye was just slightly overcooked, and the wait time was a little longer than usual, hence the missing fifth star. But you'll want to make reservations here before you arrive to ensure a seat as it's worth a visit and a very classy place. read more

It's not often I leave a bad review, I prefer positive feedback. But for the price, the food was not good at all! We ordered Caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and tased old/soured. We also ordered the Filet Isabel, the only thing remotely warm on the plate was the steak, and it wasn't what you'd normally get. With that being said, the service was amazing and the girl singing at piano was nice to listen to. I just feel that for the money, the food should stand out, this did not! read more

We went here as we had $100 dollars worth of food vouchers and since we were very hungry we decided to eat here. This place is on the first floor across from the sport bar on the left hand side facing the casino. The atmosphere was very nice and fancy. Since it is a fine dining experience expect to pay between $35 to $55 dollars per meal. Service was excellent as our server was very friendly and kind. The bread selection was cool as they gave us three different butters, pesto, bacon and the regular one. The bread definitely filled us up already. For appetizers we ordered the quail grits which was excellent and would recommend as they give you some pretty size chunks. For meal we ordered the Chilean sea bass which was their special and I ordered the pork chop. My pork chop was alright as it was pretty dry on some of the areas and pretty salty. I would should have stuck with the lamb chops. My wife's sea bass was good however, but only had a little bit. The food was filling. Overall, I was really liked the service, food was okay. Server (Ben) was wonderful, very knowledgeable 5/5 The food was really bland ( we ordered the lamb and a ribeye ) with some mushrooms and loaded potatoes. 3/5 . The potatoes were delicious tho. Also ordered a BUBBLING French onion soup that was not bubbling it was very much like warm. But they do have this really cool oil and vinegar dispenser on every table & they give out complementary bread and a trio of spreadable butter. I ordered my favorite for dessert which is Crème Brûlée and it was soooo grainy like the sugar hadn't dissolved all the way. Had a business dinner here and we were blown away. The menu lights up!!! The wine list was incredible and our waiter, Ben, was basically a younger James Earl Jones. Every person ordered something different and the presentation was top notch and everyone raved over their meals. I have been to Vintage numerous time, have always had amazing service and amazing food until this last visit for my daughters birthday. We had a party of 10. Service was horrible! We waited probably 20 minutes before they even took our drink order. I ordered the special prime rib, asked for medium rare. I've never seen prime rib cooked that much! I showed it to the waiter and he immediately said I'm so sorry that is not ok. He brings another one maybe 3 minutes later and it was still over cooked but cold (like out of the refrigerator cold) When the waiter came to check on us and I told him it was cold he laughed and said he would take two drinks off my ticket. I couldn't even eat the prime rib. We also had to flag the waiter down to get drink refills. Very disappointed!!! read more

We selected this restaurant for our 29th anniversary dinner in Shreveport. Recommend on the weekend, you need a reservation and that request Marco as your server. We started with the crusted sourdough bread and butter-- marvelous and for the appetizer the sweet and spicy shrimp: gigantic and lightly battered with an addictive sweet and --almost no spicy, sauce. He had the rib eye, which sadly was overcooked and bereft of the luminous fat that usually accompanies a good ribeye steak which was also cut too thin at a 1/2 inch. Disappointing. I had the sea bass, which was the BEST I have ever eaten-- hard pan seared with a light soy sauce and sweet buttery ginger sauce adorned with baby bok choy. The grilled asparagus was flavorful-- but nothing spectacular. The staff treated us to an anniversary song and we shared the chocolate cake with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Wonderful gin and tonics, with a friendly pour-- and a terrific meal. We got pictures of ourselves, but not the food sadly due to the occasion. It would have been nicer to seated at he from near the windows rather than at the back and in the dark, and to have heard live music from the Yamaha digital mini grand piano, but we were there for the first seating. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but that's to be expected with a fine dining establishment. I made reservations and getting seated a bit early was not a problem. Service was attentive from beginning to end. The waiter was thorough and detailed with answering questions about the menu items. Since it was dark inside the restaurant, I was surprised to have the menus light up when opened. What a neat idea! More restaurants should do this for dinner service, especially with the dim lighting. There was a variety of complimentary breads along with butter (regular, garlic herb, & honey). I had to resist from devouring all the tasty bread and butter before our meal began! For appetizers, the escargot and chilled crab claws were fresh, prepared well and a good flavor. The crab claws were a good size and had so much meat that it took me at least two bites to finish. The shining star of the meal was the 24 oz porterhouse steak! The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection, with each juicy bite creating a flavor explosion in your mouth! Party party!!! To seal the deal, the creme brûlée was a sweet ending to our meal. In the mood for incredible steak?! I recommend eating here for special occasions and making reservations to ensure prompt seating. This restaurant has always been a favorite of ours and our most recent visit on 2-16-19 was no exception. The whole place is very nice. The atmosphere and ambiance always provide for a great experience. One feature we really like are the menus - they light up! We've been in there before when the lighting was low so having the light from the menus helped a lot. Marco, our waiter this visit, was absolutely wonderful. He answered every question we had and was knowledgeable with the wine selection. He had us laughing a few times which added to the experience. Someone in our party had a food allergy and he helped accommodate that without any problems. Our food came out in a timely manner and it was excellent. The wedge salad, french onion soup, and quail appetizer are some of our staples each time we visit. They were just as good this visit as any other time we've come. The bread basket and butter trio were very good as well. We also ordered steaks which were cooked to our request, and one person at our table ordered the chicken and said it was very juicy. The only thing I noticed different were the garlic mashed potatoes. I get those every time I come, but for some reason they tasted sweeter this visit. I don't know if the recipe changed or what, but I was hoping for a more savory flavor. The serving portion for their sides is huge, so I was able to split the mashed potatoes with a friend and still have plenty. We will continue visiting whenever we're in town. The restaurant is very very dark, so dark that they have to give you a menu that lights up. We waited 20 minutes to be seated when we had a reservation. Google menu is inaccurate, they DO NOT serve beef Wellington and their plating is nothing like in most pictures. The server sold us on the special of the evening (prime rib), then came back 15 minutes later to tell us they were sold out. We ordered a bottle of wine, he came back with two full glasses. When we corrected him and said we wanted the bottle, he brought the bottle out and charged us for both glasses ($20 each!) as well as the bottle ($40 for the bottle). We felt like we were being hustled on prices. We asked for more bread that we never got. My $60 filet was overcooked. Even in the dark I could tell that. I ordered it medium rare and it was medium well. We were attended to until a 15 top was seated next to us, then we never saw our server again. Just not a good experience for a birthday dinner and extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity. Will not be returning. read more

The chops were gray without any searing or evidence of grilling. Don't waste your money on the lamb chops. The steaks were good and cooked perfectly. We ordered the caramel cheese cake. The cake part was creamy and really good, but the caramel was not caramel at all. It was thick dry brown sugar with pecans. The only thing about the desert was that it was free because of a birthday. Recentily had reservations for a party of about twenty people. Was seated on time and quickly given a menu and water by our only waiter. He had to hustle, and he did to keep up. No rush as we wanted to visit and catch up with old friends as well as new ones. We were anticipating the big Mardi Gras parade tomorrow. Drink orders given and drinks began arriving as quickly as our waiter could possibly do it. As we perused the menu , it became clear that it was severely limited in main dishes with all items listed separately. As for prices, expect a thinner wallet and diet sized portions after ordering and eating. Dinner was acceptable but not outstanding, resulting in quiet comments about prices not matching either portions or quality. Lesson learned. Thing really took a nose dive when our waiter had to relay a message from his boss that the check could not be split!! After a stunned silence, a very uncomfortable pall fell over our once joyous atmosphere. One of our members spoke up for us all informing our waiter that if they expected payment- they would have to find a way. After some behind the scenes scrambling, the waiter returned with blank order checks and pens, asking us to please write down our individual orders, including drinks. A " free" shot of tequila was offered and accepted by some. After settling our $140.00 tab for the three of us, we thanked our well tipped waiter and exited, possibly never to return. It was an awkward end to our evening * I noticed some beautiful food pictures from The Vintage pre- Covid. Judging by what was served " post- Covid" to our group of diners, The Vintage has not fully recovered. We have been here a small handful of times. Hit or miss, honestly. And when we get drinks, the bill is often close to $250 for the two of us... especially if we get salads and sides. We have had our friend's steak mixed up with ours (cooked differently-- and didn't notice til we had both eaten a few bites)... We have also most recently had to pay for our "complimentary dessert" for my 50th bday. I didn't ask for the dessert menu but the waiter knew it was my bday and brought me the dessert menu and told me to pick something out. Not only did we have to pay for our dessert but our friends dessert too. :( We went to Saltgrass a week later and it was cheaper and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection and seasoned/seared better also! Oh and the grits with cheese was far too salty at Vintage for my friends to eat their $9 side dish. Just ate here last night (11/21/21) on a girls' casino trip. It exceeded all expectations and the food was divine. Our server was thorough and attentive. We had filet, ribeye, escargot, grits, and crab cakes with cocktails. We also all choose a different dessert to take to the room since we were so stuffed. I am not opposed to rare steak & have ordered it often in the past. This was truly, absolutely raw except the very briefly cooked exterior. I would have sent it back to be cooked more but it took from 9PM until 9:50 to get it & they were very obviously closing. I was asked 3 times if everything was alright when all I had was a glass of wine but was never asked after my steak was dropped. Very disappointing & surprising for a steakhouse of this. caliber to have such poor service & to serve such a mistake. I was referred here by a local who said this was by far the best steakhouse in town. I have worked in some very good steak houses over the years myself so I know a little about good steaks. This is got to be one of the top five steaks I have ever eaten in my life! I had a 34 ounce bone in ribeye and it was absolutely phenomenal! The guy with me ordered the smaller version of the same thing, he said it was hands-down the best steak he had ever had. And then came the crème brûlée! This place is on the first floor of the El Dorado Casino in downtown Shreveport. Absolutely wonderful! I had the 8 ounce filet mignon cooked medium, no sides. It was great. Cooked perfectly and flavorful. It had a side of hollandaise sauce as well. It was great. I would recommend this place to anybody. Be aware, it is a bit pricey, but totally worth my for a great meal. We love this place. The service is beautiful, the lighting romantic, the food is tops. I love the steak au poirve. Husband loves the roasted chicken breasts with the baby vegetables. Except one time they served it with cut up asparagus in the broth instead of the delicious baby veggies, like baby squash, etc. Hence, the reason for the 4 starts instead of 5. Maybe they were out of veggies, but they should have told us there would be a substitution and hubby would have selected something else. The drinks are also great, solid, well made and delicious. Never again! While visiting Bally's from Dallas, TX. I and 3 other friends decided to have dinner here. Well, while speaking with the hostess, Marcos, or something to that effect, walks up to podium and spills a script of "everything is a la carte, and our main dishes are $90-$130" then proceeds to hand me a menu from another restaurant across the way! The only way we took this, was that he was implying, I suppose because we're African Americans, that we could not afford to eat here, and we needed to go somewhere else! I asked for a manager, a bald older guy, came and I told him what transpire, he laughed at my shirt, which was odd and said " I didn't hear him, but I apologize". And that was all "the manager" had to say. He even seemed amused at it all. I have never been so blatantly disrespected, and to think we really wanted to eat there! Ridiculous and honestly, we felt his actions were racially motivated. Spend your money elsewhere, as this behavior seemed normal and tolerated. read more
