Was in Cottonwood on a Friday. Just happen to be a parking spot near the Red Rooster. Been wanting to try. Cool place with an old school organic feel, good music and service. Ordered a side salad with balsamic dressing and chicken and mushroom soup. The salad was great with mixed greens and chopped veggies. Soup was creamy with chunks of chicken and mushrooms. We stumbled in here thinking it was another coffee shop we thought we'd tried already... We were hungry, so figured we'd try it on a whim. It was really REALLY busy. Of course, it was a weekend, so what do you expect? (We actually went into town to visit another shop and meet the artist... but, well, food is always first!) We got seated in an OK-ish amount of time. Pretty sure the host who seated the people in front of us had to take them clear to the back of the "additional seating" in the back of the cafe... and probably stopped on his way back to grab a bite himself - not that I could blame him... the food was soooo good! It didn't bother us too much as we took time to enjoy the nuances in the decor around and people watch. :) We didn't expect the food to come very fast due to them being so busy, and yeah, it did take a hot minute to come out, but like I said we weren't surprised and we weren't in a hurry. When the waiter brought our food out he not only apologized for the wait (though it didn't seem bad) and gave us a discount on our bill without us even asking. Needless to say, he got tipped on what the full amount would have been. Kudos to the team that trains staff to treat customers well!! :) My omelet was so deliciously amazing. Melt-in-your-mouth cheese and just so so perfect. Hubs loved his food as well - said the cheesy potatoes were amazing. And the latte... well I carry my own syrup since most coffee places have sucrolose for their sugar-free stuff... and they had no issues making me a custom cup. The waitress seemed to forget about us after being seated. Service here is horrible. The food was too expensive for what they serve. I got the breakfast quesadilla. I could barely taste the eggs because it was overloaded with some gross, not fresh, smashed avocados. Then I get home and my credit card alerts me that I left a 64% tip! First time at Red Rooster Cafe in Old Town Cottonwood. Loved the ambience and charm walking inside. They have seating at the bar, two rooms and an outside covered patio. Had the Huevos Rancheros served with two eggs, potatoes, onions and beans. Very tasty dish, topped off with a dab of sour cream and a flour and corn tortilla. Great food, fantastic service. Came here Sunday morning for brunch and sat outside under the patio. The picnic table that we sat at did not have back and was a little rough and needed a sanding and cleanup. The restaurant provides little fans to keep the flies off your food, which helps some. They have a nice gentleman, playing quiet music on a loot and flute, and it was very quiet and comforting. The food was really good. I had a pancake and a breakfast sandwich and my wife had a breakfast special of eggs. The toasted blueberry muffin was very good. My wife found this place while checking out the area as we knew we would be passing through on our road trip. We arrived about noon on a Friday afternoon and we were surprised they were not at all busy. We were immediately seated and provided menus. My wife chose the BLTA salad with Blue Cheese dressing instead of Thousand Island and I chose the Patty Melt without Thousand Island. The business itself is cute both inside and outside and appears to be well taken care of. It appears they also have outdoor seating but we sat inside. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked yummy. My wife really enjoyed her salad and my patty melt was very good too. We would highly recommend to others! We had a really great experience here while visiting charming Main Street in Cottonwood, Az ( about 15 minutes drive from beautiful Sedona). This little gem offers good ole comfort food for lunch or brunch, and some really yummy cocktails as well. The Wake Up Call was my favorite! I don't remember our servers name, but she was just adorable. There was an error on one of our burgers, and she fixed it immediately. Great food selection, the avocado pesto toast is one of my favorites. From eggs and bacon to breakfast sandwiches you'll find something to love. They make a great Bloody Mary and mimosas. My manager was coming up from the Phoenix area to take me out to lunch. We had decided we were going to take the meal to go and eat at a nearby park. It had been a while since I had been to the Red Rooster, but happy I made the choice! Both my manager and I loved our lunches! First off, this is definitely one of the better places in Cottonwood adhering to COVID-19 precautions. We did take our meals to go, however they have a wonderful social distancing set up for seating on their patio and inside. There were hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere. I ordered the Southwest Steak Wrap and my manager ordered one of the specials, the Asian Wrap. She said the Asian Wrap was tasty, especially the peanut sauce. I devoured the SW Steak Wrap. It's New York strip steak, caramelized onions, green chilies, cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce tomato and their signature Sriracha sauce. The flavors were phenomenal and the steak was tender! Their wraps and sandwiches come with chips and a pickle but for a small up-charge we decided on potato salad and so happy we did. Our server came out to notify us that the potato salad had just been made so it is still a bit warm. We thought OK, kind of like German potato salad. The potato salad has cheese in it, so we felt it was delicious served warm and would recommend that they serve it that way, especially with it's cheesy goodness! Our meal was prepared quickly and our server was on top of it! I am not sure why it took me so long to come back here, because it is definitely one of the best restaurants in Cottonwood. I can't wait to go back, hopefully early enough to try their breakfasts, which look amazing! I would also like the opportunity to ask them where they got their name, because you don't want to look up Red Rooster in the urban dictionary! ;) Definitely don't pass up this place in Old Town Cottonwood! read more

Chairs very rickety and table rambling with a napkin under one leg to stabilize it which did not work . Breakfast special arrived with moldy tomatoes blueberries in pancakes sour a kitchen should always taste their produce and if the tomatoes were fresh mold would not be present I had to interrupt the server talking to another server to complain about our food. Since my last review, we've eaten here a couple more times and the good news is things have greatly improved. We had a late brunch here earlier today (Sunday). We had a large party of 9 and our waitress Jennifer handled everything flawlessly even with three separate checks. We ordered a round of cocktails and coffees which were delivered rather quickly considering the size of our order. Breakfast arrived shortly thereafter with each order correctly prepared and presented. The food was delightful. I love their Eggs Benedict. Next time I'm going to order the Breakfast Reuben which another member of our party had and said was delicious. They have remodeled the main seating area which is both more inviting and practical. Everything was timely, friendly, tasty and enjoyable. The Red Rooster is once again a favorite Sunday brunch spot for our family and friends. Well done. read more

We started at the bar while waiting briefly for a table by ordering there really, really good Cappuccinos - yeah, really good! Within a few minutes we were seated in the outside patio area nicely shaded with a view of the inside, the patio, and passersby on the street. I must say, although they don't have what I call an extensive menu, the goods are good. Not really, they're great. This being our second visit here, we've found their dishes fab. My wife began with one of her faves, Biscuits and Gravy with an incredible sausage gravy and tasty (fresh) bacon bits - with a side of scrambled eggs. I had something I'd never seen before, yet it's a combination of two of my fave eats, the Breakfast Reuben! This incredible concoction is terrific, especially when you're a lover of both the traditional Reuben Sandwich and the classic Eggs Benedict! Their use of Corned Beef over Eggs on toasted rye, interspersed with great sauerkraut, oozing Swiss cheese and a well-prepared hollandaise sauce (served with home fries), made this delicacy a reason to keep coming back. The wife and I stopped in here for some breakfast. Boy we're we impressed. The theme here is pretty obvious as there are roosters abound. But, don't do the mistake of calling them chickens. We both started with a Bloody Mary, extra spicy of course. A touch to much "Wooster" sauce, but it was still pretty good. The meal consisted of my bagel and lox, and while I can't remember what the wife had, I'm pretty sure it was good. . My bagel and lox did not disappoint. Plenty of smoked salmon, capers, onion, slice of tomato on a lightly toasted everything bagel. This was what I call first bite heaven! The wife's meal did come with a fresh, house made, strawberry jam that was out of this world. When we find ourselves in Cottonwood again, this will definitely be on our list. Absolutely, with a doubt, THE BEST blueberry pancake ever!!! Cierra was our Server and she was a delight. She asked how we liked our bacon and delivered it to our table as if we had chosen it ourselves fresh out of the frying pan. My mimosa was the perfect celebratory touch, but that pancake? It was ( as Cierra put it) crazy good! The blueberries were plump and fresh, encased in a pancake that was nothing short of perfection. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and he said they were excellent. It took us a few trips up to cottonwood to discover this place but we are so glad we did. The friendliest people, good comfort-style food, inclusivity - all of the things that mean the most to us. This time around we had the biscuits and gravy and cowboy burger. They both have their delicious country gravy and I'll leave it at that.
