If I could give this place more than five stars I definitely would. This was absolutely delicious. Honestly, the best sushi that I have had since I moved to Charlotte. It was so fresh and the portions where is incredible. The staff was super friendly and the place it's self has a very calm and chill vibe to it. I came on Monday where they have the $10 specialty rolls. I almost have the whole menu. Every single thing I ate here was insanely good. The only thing I would say is that I wish they had a bigger variety when it comes to their desserts. They only had two options and since I am not a fruit lover, dessert was not an option for me. What a wonderful meal we had at Red Sake! The restaurant is really cool and that perfect blend of not too quiet but not too loud which is great for having a meal and conversation with friends. There were four of us in our party so we were able to try many things. We started with a variety of apps (calamari, gyoza and hamachi) all of which were good. We then each selected a couple of sushi rolls each and none disappointed at all. The rolls were so good that we decided to have another couple of rolls to end the evenings feast. Came for the first time tonight and had an amazing meal. The fish is so fresh, tasty and literally melts in your mouth. The tuna tacos were to die for, we had to get a second round because they were so delish! The yellowtail nigiri was fantastic. Their nigiri is served w warm rice which is my preferred way. Everything we ate was a+++. Good service, great layout and atmosphere. My only grievance is their beverages. Doesn't look like they have a beverage fountain as our club sodas came in small airplane sized bottles. Literally could not have been more bland. Small portions, big prices. I didn't try the sushi, maybe that's better than their other meals but with what I experienced I wouldn't want to try it. I'm not joking or exaggerating when I say my food tasted like it came to them frozen and they threw it in the microwave for 4 minutes then charged me $15 for it. The sauce could have been water with food coloring and corn starch - it was that bland. PF Chang's has a great frozen meal you can get from target - and they actually have seasoning; save yourself the time and money; absolutely nothing authentic about this place. Ordered delivery on a weeknight for dinner. Tried different rolls and nigiri. I thought the basic rolls were very good and the fish flavorful. The specialty rolls to me were overpriced and the fish flavor was overtaken by the sauces used on the roll. The nigiri was my favorite part of the order. Very fresh and flavorful fish.
