This place is really trying...but with all the other breweries I've visited in SB, Ventura, SF, San Diego and other states, I feel they have a lot of room for improvement. Awesome new, local brewery! I sampled all seven of the beers that they had on tap and liked all of them. They're bound to have a style that will suit your tastes, and there's likely a fun story behind the name! Tap room has a very cool, welcoming vibe. Dog friendly (yay!) but not kid friendly (also yay!). They don't serve food but they are located right next door to a great pizza place and they'll have no problem with you ordering food and eating it there while you enjoy your beer. The owners and staff are all lovely people and the prices are right, which makes it easy to want to support this local business. Pro tip: Take a growler to go and show up to the party with beer that doesn't suck. read more

Very cool local brewery, super friendly staff with a great atmosphere. This place is pet friendly, has free pretzels and allows you to bring outside food in to pair with your beer. You can even order from the pizza place next door and they'll walk it over when your food is ready. I enjoy the beer here every time I visit, check it out! read more

My wife and I really wanted to like this place. even though they are not family friendly like other breweries in ventura county. If you are into beer, especially craft, then you will know that this place does not even stack up to the others in the area. I'm from Oxnard and was anxious about another brewery opening up in Oxnard, but unfortunately it let me down. we went in on a Friday and there ambience was horrible, there was only about 10 people and it seemed that they all knew each other and the owner. then to top it off, what seemed to be the owner was having and argument with some man. I liked the idea of a brewery in Oxnard, but not like this one. they should also think about having a family friendly place. read more

I visited Red Tandem Brewery on Labor Day with my wife, my 94 year young Father, and 24 year old Son. I am giving this review 5 stars as an accumulative rating, so I will explain. When we arrived, even though it was very busy, the service was friendly, quick, and excellent. We started with sampling all the brews on the list, which made for a nice variety of styles and flavors, served in good size glasses for $2 each...All of the brews were good, and I ordered a pint of my personal Favorite. I appreciate the process and work involved in each brew. One more point, I think what also deserves an extra star, is the owners Johanna & Mark make a Great Tandem Team, they picked a good location on Harbor Blvd in Mandalay Shores between the Ventura Harbor & Channel Islands Harbor, which lends itself to a nice "neighborhood atmosphere". I recommend you stop by and give the brewery a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! read more

This is a great little nano-brewery that is near the beach and in a nice neighborhood strip mall. They have a good selection of tasty IPAs, Ales, and Stout. You can have a sample, a taster, a pint, or a growler. I prefer the Milk Stout Chica Morena on Nitro. Friendly staff and laid back clientele. Not too crowded. A must do on the brewery list. I love the Big American Flag hanging from the ceiling. And there's a pizza place next door to get some grub if you're hungry, and they deliver to your table at Red Tandem.
