We don't call for service or repairs that much because I try to fix most things myself, but when our AC system broke down during the last heat wave we were desperate. These guys were great! They called ahead, showed up on time, were polite and professional. We never felt uncomfortable during the entire process. We had to have our heater, A/C, and duct work replaced at our house. It was a big project so we got 3 different quotes and Classic was quite a bit cheaper than the others. They were able to start the project quickly and efficiently. We called classic cooling for our home inspection and we're pleased with the responsiveness and availability. After moving into our new house we saw some leaking we were concerned about so we called the home warranty and they sent out someone who said we needed $3,000 worth of repairs and half a new unit. It sounded a bit fishy so we called classic cooling back to get a second opinion. They came back to our house and within a few minutes told us that it was just a clog. He cleared it out and we havent had any issues since. Saved us quite a bit of headache and we were running the ac again the same day. read more

Classic Cooling saved our necks! We came home late one night to find our A/C blowing warm air. CC came out the very next morning within only a couple hours of my call and on a 100+ degree day when I know they were more than busy! Butch did some tests, discovered the part gone bad, and had our unit up and running the very next day. And not a moment too soon since we had an appraisal scheduled that very afternoon. Prices were super reasonable, too. It doesn't end there though . . . Diane called within a couple days of the repair just to check in and make sure things were still running right. Butch and his team recently installed a completely new heating and air conditioning system in my 1910 Craftsman home. Not only a fair price, but courteous service as well. It involved everything possible as there was only a in floor heater previously. From getting the heating unit up to the attic, all new venting throughout the house, and installing an air conditioning unit outside, it was hard work ... never a complaint about the difficult work, they worked hard to get the job done as quick as possible, left the home clean every night. I was referred to Butch at Classic Cooling and Heating from a trusted friend to hopefully replace my 30 year old beat up and costly HVAC system in our attic. Butch came out with in a few days of my call and spent a good abount of time in our attic in his quest to come up with a quote. Keep in mind I had Anderson Heating and Plumbing as well as ASI give me quotes and for a 5 ton system lets just say they were both very expensive and close or over $20,000! The next day, Diane sent me a quote and it was way less as in not even close! So I went with Classic Cooling and Heating and they must have spent 3 days in our Attic removing all of the old equipment as well as repairing all of our old and leaky duct work. When it was completed it was like having a new engine put in an old classic Corvette and it ran like a champ. Furthermore, our electric bills were cut big time with the more energy efficient "Train" HVAC system. We also paid for the City of Poway inspector to come out and pass it to their standards. Problem is they found some minor changes needed to meet code being that it was a 50+ year old home and Butch came out at no charge and made the necessary changes and we were able to get our certificate that it met code. Butch and his wife Diane are the most honest couple I have ever worked with in business and a complete pleasure! I also have never seen anyone work as hard as Butch and his team and have a positive attitude always with a smile. Absolute horrible experience with this company. They took forever to set up an initial appointment after our ac stopped working, that is what it is I realize it's a busy time of year. When they came out they replace the compressor and found a leak. They asked if I wanted the coil replaced or patched, I expressed I wanted it replaced. Thry took it upon themselves to patch it without asking and charged us what they quoted for the replacement, I let this slide. Within a month of getting it "fixed" the ac stopped again. My husband called them and they ended up coming out without verifying an appointment, they said there was a leak again but couldn't find it, expressed they could replace the coil but wanted verification from my husband not me. I reminded them that they were supposed to replace the coil last time and they told me that they only take orders from the man of the house. Never use them they are horrible and rude! read more

It was easy to make an appointment and the service tech was very efficient. Our house is in the Cuyamaca Woods area of Julian and it is very hard to find service companies that will even drive out there and the ones that do charge horrible fees. Not so with Classic. They were familiar with the area and charged a very reasonable service call fee. Wow, this company blows me away! My A/C unit went out during the past Labor Day weekend. Diane answered the phone when I called. Probably one of the nicest customer service reps I have ever talked to. She told me she could have someone there within the day. Shortly after Butch and Josh called me and said they were on the way! I was absolutely blown away by the speedy service. I can only imagine they dropped everything there were doing and came to help. They showed up and got right to work troubleshooting. Butch took the time to explain everything to me, what parts were needed, he even showed me the broken parts as they were replaced and told me why they needed to be replaced. It took them 3 trips to my house to fix it (parts needed to be ordered). I would say that, Butch and Josh spent 12-14 hours over a three day period to fix the issues. All of that time and parts and I only owed $350.xx or so. They were always on time or ahead of time. Anything moved in the garage was put back exactly how I had it. I wont ever go to a different company for my heating and cooling needs. Words can not describe the satisfaction this company left me with. A few days after it was all said and done, I received a call from Diane. She wanted to check on things and make sure the A/C was working. This company is great all around. The people, the methods, the attitudes, the service, best of all the price was great! I would recommend this company to everyone I know! Butch recently completely replaced our furnace because we wanted to add air conditioning, and our furnace was too old and inefficient to add it. Butch and Diane were very easy to work with, and great communicators through the whole process. The bid was a very reasonable price compared to others I'd received. The work took less than a week and was mostly undisruptive. Due to new efficiency regulations, our project needed a HERS inspection before the project could get its final inspection from the city. There was a lag between the initial installation and the HERS testing and building inspection. Through this long lag time, Diane kept us informed of the timeline/progress for when we would be scheduled for testing. During the HERS testing and the building inspection by the city, a few items were found that needed to be changed. Butch happily changed the needed items so the system would pass the test - even though I had already paid him in full! We had a great experience with this company. The only reason I give this company four stars instead of five is because of the need for changes to the system and the lag to get those done. However, this company offered a great price and has great customer service! read more

I am a busy professional single man with a demanding career in the city 60 miles away. I was able to get ahold of this company late at night and schedule an appointment. I was able to touch base with their tech to relay the materials needed to install a used mini split ductless carrier a/c. They called me the day before to confirm the apt. Butch and Pat drove about 40 miles to my home in Julian and got the job done right in a professional manner. The a/c system we hooked up had 3 faulty parts. I ordered a new a/c / heatpump mini ductless split system. Classic Cooling and Heating came all the way back out at my request to recover the refrigerant / decommission my used a/c.
