I popped into the original Reddi-Arts store in San Marco here and there over the years, but it truly is the Historic Springfield store that I go to now. I walk in mostly for the great array of gifts spanning from geeky cookbooks and plushies to cute, niche purses and crafting kits. There's some adorable gift wrap and greeting cards, too. I'm not so much of an artist, but do need things framed from time to time. The framing department at Reddi-Arts is one of the best kept secrets in Jacksonville. I've gotten some wonderful pieces framed by them over the years as gifts and for personal items of my own. What an awesome store! I'm not particularly craft-y, so even though I had a fun few minutes browsing the aisles, I'm probably not the best for reviewing those aspects of Reddi-Arts. But that browsing came after my visit to the framing department, to which I brought a certificate for framing. The service was excellent, the framer explained all the numerous frame, glass, backing, and other options with details on pricing. There were a ton of choices, I doubt you'd be unable to find something to go with whatever you're getting framed. The price was excellent too, though I came at a time when they were running a 20% discount. But I was heartened to know that you get discounts in the future just by becoming a customer of theirs. Great store, I will be back in the future the next time I need to get something framed. And I hope my daughter will have hours of fun getting craft supplies here in the future. read more

We needed art supplies for school and decided to stop in. They had everything we needed in one bag based on the school. We just walked in and they asked us what school and BOOM shopping was done. As an added bonus the supplies were discounted. My kids love the atmosphere and my husband was impressed with the Art Gallery they have on site! We are already making plans to visit again! read more

I used to shop at the original store in San Marco area, but since the store has moved to Main Street it is next to impossible to find a save parking place. It was raining today when I stopped in after parking in a fenced area next to store. I asked front cashier girl if that was good, she said no, I would be towed away. I see alot of stores parking problems is due to next door restaurant taking spots, store should have designated places to park. I contacted the print department regarding a memorial print project for my 22 year old daughter- who has just been murdered. The employee went out of her way to discourage me. I attempted to explain that I owned a brand marketing /design company and had digital ,print ready, pdf files. I explained that I had contacted them specifically due to the fact that I desired the printing to far exceed a normal print job. I desired a heavy weighted, raw textured, perhaps unfinished edge or overlay, etc. I asked if I could schedule an appointment to sort the details- I do not have limitations on my budget for this project. The print service representative abruptly cut me off- saying I would have an option of : matte, gloss, or semi- gloss and it would be a long turn around because it was just her. Reddi-Arts is a delight for a local art supply store. Unlike many in the South, it's a bona fide art store and not an art department in an office supply store. Their focus is art supplies, though like Flax in San Francisco, they're also prone to carrying all manner of cute little gifty things, too. However, if you're here for actual art supplies, you'll probably find most of what you need. The staff is overall friendly and helpful and seem to know their stuff. The selection of supplies is very good, though not up there with somewhere like Pearl or Savannah's Primary Art Supply and their drafting section could be better. Also, their website, while seemingly clear and offering a wealth of information and even the ability to shop online, is a mess when you start digging into it. In example, their technical pen section has the wrong or duplicate products pictured in some cases and there are other examples of the same trend. I like being able to use an online catalog to price-compare and to get a good idea of what a store has, even if buying in person. So, they need to work on their website because it's confusing. Reddi-Arts also has a gallery and they also do printing and copying. They're overall an amazing store and very worth checking out. I would like to see the website shaped up a little but they're better by a leap than most of their competition. read more

What an inspiring place to buy art supplies. Seriously! Even if you don't even know what a paint brush is, you will leave here with the ambitions to become Picasso. Reddi-Arts is not only a huge store that houses paints and brushes and pens and pencils and paper and all that jazz. They also have a ton of great things like BOOKS, and journals, and fun trinkets and TOYS and posters, and jewelry, and housewares, and much much more. It's a wonderful place to get a gift for someone, or for yourself. And there is something in the vibe of this place... everyone is so pleasant, there is a huge gigantic mural on the exterior of the building, and there is so much ART inside that you can't help but want to go and make some art yourself. Reddi-Arts is very eclectic, very fun, and very functional. It is hands down the most well known, most respected arts supply store in Jacksonville. Every so often, I want to relive my early years as a marginally okay artist. Seriously- the rainbow zebra I drew with pastels on black velvet? Hung in the administrative lobby of my high school for, like, a MONTH. When this itch happens, my over-ambitious ass goes to Reddi-Arts, 'cause they've got everything I need to pretend that I'm going to magically come up with some kick ass artistic movement, get a rich socialite to fund my increasingly erratic behavior, and move to New York to smoke lots of Gauloises in my rat-infested, yet spacious, loft. In addition to selling 20 different kinds of erasers (who knew there were so many?), Reddi-Arts also provides framing and printing services. They can do invitations or business cards. They offer classes. They can take your kid's shitty artwork and put it on t-shirts which you can them make your family wear on Christmas cards (which Reddi-Arts can make for you). They can repair that old daguerreotype of your great-great-great grandfather for posterity or blackmail. They also have lots and lots of cards. From intricately folded origami ones to those highly irritating "Keep Calm and Carry On/Eat Cupcakes/Put It On Facebook" ones. I am very good about avoiding chain restaurants and eating at local restaurants, but with general store stuff, I usually find myself walking into a Target. I needed to buy some art supplies, and not only was Reddi-Arts closer than a Hobby Lobby, it also felt good to support local! Finally stopped in the local, family owned business for some custom framing. I do not consider myself an artsy person, but just walking into this amazing store inspires me to create some art. Reddi-Arts has a vast number of supplies for all kinds of media. For us novices, as well as more advanced artists, they even offer classes for various types of drawing and painting with water colors, acrylics, and more. My mission on my recent visit was to get our inaugural and earlier season Jaguar tickets matted and framed. Being on a limited timeframe of only three days for a birthday gift, I messaged the business to make sure it could be done on time. I promptly received a message back from the owner with the assurance it could be done quickly. Deatria was super helpful with discussing framing options. I really appreciated her experience with determining colors and styles and while she explained various options, I never felt like she was trying upsell. She was patient with my indecisiveness and I really trusted her to help me find exactly what I wanted. The very next day I got a call that my frames were ready. The end results were beautiful. This positive experience has me looking around my home for more items that I want to frame, without the rush next time. Yecks, I brought a collage to be scanned, put on canvas, and framed. They did an awful job. They didn't stretch it correctly, and there were dents in the border of the canvas. And to top it off, they put staples all along the side of the frame. Anyway, I had to go back seven times (30 miles) before they got it right. I had considered them professionals in the field. Very cool shop! Has a large selection, especially paints and notebooks. However, they didn't have empty half pans for watercolors, or any more Daniel Smith paints. But I did find a lot of notebooks and brands that Michaels doesn't have. They also have a lot of interesting other things like buttons, handmade items, art for sale, etc. read more

The outside drew me in, but the inside pushed me away. They have a good selection of art supplies, so if you actually need something and don't want to order it online, this is probably you best bet. However, their prices are kind high and while they have a lot of things, they didn't really have anything I actually wanted to buy. Sadly, I've no talent as an artist but I love this store. There's a gallery, they have beautiful items for sale, unusual gifts and a framing department. We dropped off a painting to be framed 9 months ago then got into a very bad collision. Hit and run. We kept meaning to drop by and get it but life and a trillion medical visits later kept us busy. Finally we dropped by, half expecting it to be gone due to the long delay. Happily, it was there and framed beautifully. The lady who patiently helped us choose the frame was wonderful. She wasn't snotty and was happy to help us within our budget. She was thoughtful and helpful, making suggestions and fetching whatever frame we wanted to try on it. Ultimately, we found the perfect frame and we were shocked and thrilled it was still there waiting for us. We paid more than if we had Michael's do it but with an original piece of art, we wanted to make sure it was framed by someone who is an art lover and experienced. 5 stars for having beautiful and unusual items for sale and for being super cool and keeping our painting safe for months. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I was referred to Reddi-Arts from another framer. In speaking with one of the frame shop employees, he stated that they could build the custom display case. I was transferred to their framing manager and after about 2 weeks of going back and forth on the requirements which was expected I was told that I would get a quote and some sample photos of the plexi glass cases. Another week went by and I received an email telling me to call their supplier directly. In speaking with them, he informed me that he did not receive a design from Reddi-Arts as I was promised and only had the photo and dimensions of the art piece itself. I called Reddi-Arts and asked to speak to a manager which I was told I would get a call back which never happened. I called a week later and was informed that they came to the understanding that them and myself were no longer working on this which was news to me. I am disgusted with their service. In short, 3-4 weeks wasted on promises that the company did not deliver. I was assured multiple times by their framing manager that they would be able to come up with the design as she was a designer herself. I believe they suffer from significant communication issues. I highly recommend going elsewhere for your framing jobs. read more

Amazing store! They have everything you could possibly need for art supplies but also very unique gift items. I can spend hours in there browsing the different areas and rooms. The gifts for kids were a hit with my niece and nephew. They also do framing at really great rates. I saw a review that said the reviewer had been going to Reddi Arts for years. I have been going there since the place was an automobile (Jaguar) dealership in the late '60s/early 70s!!! I have been to the "art" reincarnation there since it BECAME an art supply store. I LOVE the place though these days I don't go through that area very often. I'm into creating my art on my computer now and really don't know what they can do for me, but I STILL GIVE THEM 10 stars because going in there is inspiring and JUST PLAIN FUN!!
