After driving 2,000 miles across the country from Wisconsin and arriving on a Thursday, we definitely know we had a problem to take care of Friday night before we could return home. Red Hawk took us in Saturday morning for a diagnostic and by 11:00 a.m. I had a problem identified, estimate in hand, and completion time to do the work. I gave them the green light to order the parts and do the work and my car was ready to go Tuesday afternoon, on time, as promised. I had no problems on the return trip. I can't say enough about the great service and courtesy from everyone I spoke with during a very trying 3-4 days, particularly Manny who oversaw my visit for the repairs. I booked my car in for a service after receiving a coupon in the mail. In two calls to the company I could not get a price to do a simple service (which should have warned me). Only after I checked in on the morning of my service, I was given what seemed like a very high price to do a simple oil and filter change. By then it was too late. I also needed a smog test and the coupon advertised a smog test at $49 but they actually charged $59 ($10 extra for the certificate, which seems a bit misleading). As soon as I arrived home after dropping the car off, I noticed a huge oil leak had happened the night before, coincidentally. The garage's response after I called twice, was to say they could check for the leak for $75 and couldn't say what the fix would cost. So I picked my car up after a service and there was still a big leak! That seems to me like waking up after surgery with a broken arm. On the plus side, the man I dealt with was polite and pleasant. read more

Red Hawk Auto saved my bank account! The Acura dealership told me I was going to need new brakes and a timing belt by my next oil change so initially I took my car to Red Hawk to have them inspect my brakes (they did this for free). Found out that there was nothing wrong with my brakes (the dealer was trying to get a buck out of me) but the timing belt was an issue. They did a timing belt service on my vehicle for less than half the price the dealer quoted me. The service at this shop is amazing. Alex sent me text message updates as to how my car was doing and when he expected it to be done. When I picked my car up it was washed and vacuumed and is running like a dream. I will not be taking my Acura for service anywhere else! These people are awesome!! Side note- please don't listen to people like John S. I've been there lots of times never had an issue. I went yesterday. They charged me $1300 in labor for a 3 hour job. I'm a hard working mom of 6 children. Then the asst manager Scott acted like he was giving me a discount. Never got the discount. Never got the AAA discount I asked for either. I took the receipt to 3 different mechanics in the area. They all laughed and said they took advantage of me. Their labor charge was triple the cost of the parts and more than Mercedes Benz dealership. Car had terrible fishy smell. I was reluctant to call because the reviews were not great, but it was close and I was desperate. First person who answered phone said I could drop off but they could not give me a ride home. I called back to make an appt and my savior-to-be, Manny, picked up. I explained that I wanted to make an appointment and need my car back to pick up my kids in the afternoon. He said since it was so busy and he didn't want me to wait, I should bring it in right then and he'd check under the hood when I arrived. When I arrived he immediately checked under the hood and said he was sure it was a dead animal. He couldn't see anything immediately, so put the car on a lift and inspected with a flashlight underneath. Within minutes he found a dead mouse and removed it! Amazing. He recommended getting an interior detail and use air fresheners and replace air filters. Best part was that when I offered to pay he said no charge. If I could give them zero stars I would! About 3 weeks ago my husband took my car in because it was making a funny noise around the battery/ alternator area. They run a diagnostics and tell us it's just the battery. We pay for diagnostics and new battery and at the moment we were told they would also change the cables out but when my husband got their they only put a new battery in. So they gave him a "discount" and we paid $321... well then just 2 days ago my battery light turns on! And we take it back, well now this time they tell us we need a new alternator and new belts... and it would be close to $900! I told my husband, don't let them touch our car anymore and let's tow it to our trusty mechanic in Oceanside. My trusty HONEST mechanic shop checks our car and tells us it's the alternator as well but they charged us only $479 and did everything that Redhwak auto shop was going to do for us. Our mechanic assured us this place knew we would need a new alternator the first time around it doesn't take 3 weeks for an alternator and belts to go out! We learned our lesson, we will continue to do the drive to our mechanic in Oceanside. Also my mechanic was in disbelief how much they were trying to charge us! This place is just out to rip people off! They will find a way to continue to get money out of you! read more

Took my vehicle here for smog. I was told when it didn't pass that I still had to pay. That didn't sound right to me but I paid the high price anyhow just to avoid having problems. Took my vehicle to another smog test place in Temecula and was told that you don't pay unless you pass. So basically I wasted my time and money taking my car to Redhawk; DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR SMOG. I can only imagine if they are doing this with smog how many other things are they ripping people off for. Even the second place that I took my car for smog test said they were going to report Redhawk for this. So obviously something is going on. read more

This place is super busy. I did not call in advance for an appointment so the fact that there would be a 2 hour wait for a smog is understandable. As long as you have no where else to be, it's no big deal. BUT the $59.99 price for a smog check is a big deal. I've never paid that much for a smog, EVER. My SUV is a 2006 so it does not fall under the older vehicle category, it's not a bus, and it's not a motor home. I ended up taking it to Kwik Smog on Jefferson and used a yelp coupon for $28.00 plus the cert fee, I paid $36.00 TOTAL. And my smog was done in less that 15 minutes. read more

These guys saved my ass today. My wife was stranded 90 minutes from home and could not get the gas door on her truck open. She was out of gas and had stopped at 3 different places and no one would help her. She called me in a panic almost in tears and I was 2 hours away. Husbands, you know the feeling! I called Red Hawk Auto off of Google and spoke to Manuel and he told me to send her over. When she got there "Shane" (you will know him because he has dreamy eyes!!!!) calmed her down and got the gas door open in just a few minutes. Bad Business practice and dishonest. I used to trust this shop until a few weeks ago they flat out lied and were totally unethical about what was going on with my car. Turns out they never diagnosed my vehicle, but came back with an outrageous price $899.00 to fix my driver side window. After calling around to a few other shops and verifying that that was absolutely ridiculous, I decided to take the door panel off myself to inspect. Turns out I did not need $572 worth of parts nor $327 in labor, the door panel itself didn't even need to be removed to see what the actual problem was. Had they actually diagnosed vice guess they could've provided good customer service vice try to rip people off. My master switch which cost $70 brand new was the issue and not my motor, regulator and assembly... These guys are scammers, liars, unprofessional and very unethical. I also asked for a quote to change spark plugs and wires for the same car, and the price was quoted was outrageous as at $799. I called around Temecula and found that the going rate for my car is $285 for the same work!!! Imagine that!! If you want fair pricing and quality information PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. When I went back in to explain that what they told me was a bunch of BS, they started back pedaling.... Nice try in trying to cover butt by not printing what you actually told me over the phone on the invoice because would posted in the review... Worst experience ever!!! read more

Knowing Redhawk was around the corner (and I've done business there before and know how helpful they are) I thought I'd see if they'd walk over and take a peek. Joey tried jumping it, checked the cables, got underneath it, even went back to the shop TWICE to get tools, and reinforcements named James! They both tinkered with it for a bit, but no luck. Always has been the go to guy when he was in canyon lake, and now, worth the extra time to travel to (ugh) Temecula. He is honest and never makes unnecessary repairs. I have been going to Redhawk Auto off and on for 10 years. When I got my new truck I started getting it serviced there. I was late to an appnt because of construction on Hwy 79 So. The girl in the office told me my appnt was cancelled as I was too late (I do understand that), and that I "need to leave your home earlier next time". Ok...I let that one slide. I had called to get another appnt, and had left my name in a message to get an appnt. Several days passed...nothing...I called again, and a guy picked up and said I could get an appnt no problem. I had to cancel as it was my only time to prep to get ready for a brutal incoming storm. I asked the girl with the attitude if I could reschedule. She said she would call me back. Nothing. I went somewhere else. I paid more, but got 3 friendly employees that cared about me, and my truck. read more

This is one of the worst auto work experiences I have ever had, especially with something as simple as a smog. First of all, if you fail the smog you are still required to pay the $60 labor cost so be forewarned. My vehicle did not pass the visual inspection (described below) which could have been indicated immediately but instead they proceeded to run the additional tests and burn 3 hours of my day (said it was going to be an hour). Secondly, if you have any issue passing the smog, they are not helpful at all. My catalytic converter was stolen in 2007 and thereafter replaced. Apparently after 2008, new catalytic converters are required to have EO numbers. Being that mine was manufactured in 2007 (which was indicated on the converter), it did not have that number. While the ARB website listed my converter as being exempt, so long as emissions fell within a given range, they wanted a receipt showing when it was installed. Since I didn't have this, they wouldn't pass the visual and were quick to refer me to a company they work with who could install a new converter for $350. I just wonder how many times they have scammed people this way and what their cut is. Above all, the issue I had was the lack of customer service and attitude of the employees. Beyond the generally condescending tone, the front desk was argumentative. When I asked to speak to the manager he said they were too busy and to walked off. It was really amazing and took a great deal of patience to get through the time. Fortunately, I went to a new smog shop and they confirmed that my emissions were acceptable and that my information regarding the EO was correct.
