I have been going to Redhawk Auto off and on for 10 years. When I got my new truck I started getting it serviced there. I was late to an appnt because of construction on Hwy 79 So. The girl in the office told me my appnt was cancelled as I was too late (I do understand that), and that I "need to leave your home earlier next time". Ok...I let that one slide. I had called to get another appnt, and had left my name in a message to get an appnt. Several days passed...nothing...I called again, and a guy picked up and said I could get an appnt no problem. I had to cancel as it was my only time to prep to get ready for a brutal incoming storm. I asked the girl with the attitude if I could reschedule. She said she would call me back. Nothing. I went somewhere else. I paid more, but got 3 friendly employees that cared about me, and my truck. read more

Not only did they make sure that my car was fixed, they also went out of their way to provide me a ride to and from their auto station. Took my mother in laws truck in as it was leaking fluids on my driveway. I'm not going to go into huge detail over what happened and the diagnosis etc, but Manny was so honest, had so much integrity and took the time to talk me through everything in such detail i was blown away. This will be my new service location. When i went to collect the vehicle Sal introduced himself and thanked me for using their location. Top notch customer service. I get customers get upset when they are told whats really wrong with their vehicle when they believed ( in their years of being a trained mechanic lol ) it was something minor. So rather than just understand things happen to vehicles, they are complicated things after all, they take it out on the garage they took their vehicle too in the way of a non complimentary review because they are upset. Cant stop that sadly and some people cannot own it for themselves. Anyways I'm off subject a little. This place is great. Will use and recommend from here on. Have to say a big thank you to Adam and the guys there at Redhawk auto. We were headed on our way put of town when the low tire light popped. Didn't have a Guage so I swung in and asked if they would be kind enough to check it. They went one further and filled it up. Before they let me leave they said "hey, let us just look at the tire and make sure it's good". Turns out I had a nail lodged in a tough to find spot. Had they not caught that I would have wound up on 371 in the middle of nowhere with a flat. They even helped me get the spare down (which on a dodge grand caravan is no easy task). Had one of the best auto work experiences here. I'll start with a little back story for what brought me in to this location. A month or so ago I got an oil change done at a completely different auto shop in Temecula and I was surprised to hear from the mechanics there that my brakes were "about to fail" and that I should get them replaced as soon as possible. My car is only about a year and a half old and doesn't have excessive mileage so I thought that was really fishy. They tried to keep selling me on new brakes, to the point where it felt intimidating, but I told them I would think about it and just paid for the oil change and left. So fast forward to now, it's been a month and I've been driving around tenderly on my brakes and worrying they're going to fail at any moment. I decided to take my car into Redhawk Auto Service to get a brake inspection to make sure I just wasn't being ripped off by the other auto shop. I called right as they opened and spoke with a nice gentleman who said I could come in for a free brake inspection. When I arrived I was greeted quickly and I told them I was here for a brake inspection and they recognized me from my phone call. They asked for some info about why I wanted to get my brakes inspected and I just said that I wanted to just check things out and keep up on the maintenance of my car since I bought it new. They took my car in immediately and said they would give me a call when it was complete. I got a call about 45 minutes later and, surprise, my brakes were completely fine! They said I still had enough wear on them to keep driving for another couple oil changes before getting them replaced. I was so thankful and expressed my gratitude that I wasn't being sold on something I didn't need. It's so hard to find a mechanic that doesn't try to rip you off on auto care. When one of my favorite managers left last year, I was hopeful that the outstanding quality of service I had come to trust and rely on over the years didn't leave with him. After my most recent experiences, I needn't have worried. The level of service was outstanding and when a part took longer than expected to arrive for my repair, it was provided at cost, which was greatly appreciated. Been here a few times and I'm always impressed with how they treat the customer. The front guy (maybe the manager), Josh, helped me and another 2 guys ahead of me very quickly and very cool but professional. I always have one of those skeptical feelings every time I go to a mechanic shop, thinking that they're going to pursue me to replace some parts that's is not even related to my car problems. But going to this place, I don't have that feeling at all. One time, they told me straight up that they couldn't repair my car due to the lack of equipment. Went in today to get oil service for our 2011 Nissan. Their service writer Michael was very attentive to my questions and any concerns I had over the type of oil they used etc.. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes and paid a price much lower than most chain type oil change places; and surely, that what I would have paid at the dealership. They did [not] try and upsell me on products, as some other oil change places most always do. Again, great customer service; great pricing, very conveniant location and fast service!! I also come here to refill my gas BBQ propane tanks; it is a better deal than the tank swap locations, wherein you do not know if you are getting a full tank of gas. read more

The gentleman at the front was very nice and courteous but charged me a couple hundred more than a few other places close by. He also quoted that the battery had to be replaced because the alternator completely drained it. The facility that I had my car repaired said the battery was fine. read more

I called and spoke with Michael Monday, July 8, 2013 in the afternoon and asked if it was a good time to come in for a smog check. He said, "Yes!" I took my car in and was told it would be a half hour to forty-five minute wait. The waiting room was full so I walked with my my two young daughters to nearby stores to pass the time and do errands. It was 102 degrees outside that day. We returned an hour later and Michael was no where to be found. The waiting room was completely empty. Another man who was working there asked me, "Did Michael call you?" "No, he didn't call me. Why?" "Because our smog check machine isn't working." Apparently, it had been out of order, fixed, and now wasn't working again. Michael was out on a test drive. Apparently, the man I spoke with upon our return thought to call people to let them know, but Michael hadn't called us. I waited about 10 minutes for him to return, but since I had other commitments to get to, I had to leave. Because of this, I won't ever go back. read more

My wife had a check engine light and we took it here for diagnosis. I was told that there was a bad coil and that the service would cost $2,500. They explained they needed to change all 6 coils and spark plugs which was a very involved job. I pushed back and he indicated that we were due for a 30k service and he could do the coil and service for $1,000. What he didn't indicate was that the service he snuck in was $700. I have since performed some research and the bad coil is a front coil which takes 5 minutes to swap and oem part is available online for $74. Had my wife (who is disabled) gone down there alone we would have been given over $2000 in unecessary repairs (the car only has 34K miles on it. This is a shameful way to do business. read more

I had an appointment for a smog check. They took me right on time and finished very quickly.

They have a new manager, Nick, and he's professional and delivers value. Took our car in for an ignition switch issue and he quoted a fixed price, however when he had a problem with the aftermarket switch all he could get was the switch + housing from Chrysler, which was more expensive but he still installed it for the same price originally quoted. In addition, we had the timing belt replaced and he charged quite a bit less than the prior manager, Mike. And while they were working on the timing belt they found a small leak on the water pump and took care of that without charge. I liked this place prior to Nick, and now I like it even more. This is at least my 3rd time taking a car in for work here. read more

I stopped by Redhawk Auto Service on a Sunday afternoon because my '97 Infiniti desperately needed steering wheel fluid as well as I had inquiries about smoking under the hood I'd seen the day before. Within minutes, Manny came to the reception area with a friendly and professional demeanor, one that a young woman who doesn't know that much about cars really appreciates :) He quickly but efficiently diagnosed the smoking was from a minor leak that was hitting hot pipes and also took the time to advise and educate me about the dangers of my situation. I was in and out within 15 minutes, no charge! This is a great auto shop and Manny is very friendly, informative, and honest. Manuel told me that my rear brake pads are getting low, but let's wait till your next service and we'll recheck them. Redhawk Auto Service offers top notch service to the residents of Temecula. A good hand wash is hard to come by. They offer just an outside wash if you prefer to detail the interior on your own. However, I do suggest the $24.99 wash which includes a thorough inside cleaning, including blowing the dirt/dust out of the cup holders, protectant on the inside surfaces, tire dressing, and air freshener. The car looked so good, even my car poolers commented on how nice it was. For those of you with youngsters, there is a small play area inside while you wait. Treat yourself and your car to a nice service and enjoy a Slurpee from the 7-11 next door while you wait. read more

My son brought his car down to Redhawk Auto after having a fuel and engine warning light come on. They told him he needed a new catalytic converter and that it would cost $2100 + labor. I new this was ridiculously high as I had already priced this part for another car. Needless to say, we decided to go elsewhere, and like many of these other reviews read, they charged us $144 diagnostic fee. I called a trusted mechanic I used in the past who immediately quoted a price of $1700 including labor. After doing a diagnostic test (no charge), he called and asked why I thought I needed a catalytic converter in he first place. He said it was a mis-diagnosis and that it was the sensors that were bad. He also found that the fuel sensor was bad, something that Redhawk Auto did not find. He replaced both of these the following day, and charged me $750. So glad I went to another place. It saved me over $1500, not to mention, they weren't even fixing the correct problem! So now I'm wondering why I'm paying $144 for a mis-diagnosis???? I was considering calling down there again and fighting with them about this, but after reading all the other negative reviews about BS diagnostic charges, I figured I would consider myself lucky to have avoided dealing with them, and let others know to do avoid this place as well. I didn't even realize that Yelp existed until today when I was advised of it by Michael of Redhawk Auto. I had phoned Michael after receiving excellent service from one of their mechanics (Manuel) and was told that I should express my thanks in this Forum. Having said that, I at first read the existing reviews (as Michael must have known I would) and now I want to add a statement to my initial thanks to Manuel: I just can't believe some of the negative reviews I've read here. I'd be very surprised if some of them were true. I don't know what the truth might be, but Michael has been nothing but extremely courteous and professional in my dealings with Redhawk Auto Service. I've had several dealings with him in the past for 2 different vehicles and I can tell you he's always been a man of his word. I want to be clear. Michael must have known (or at least thought it possible) that I'd read the negative reviews (as well as some of the good reviews) but still he exposed me to that. He exposed a customer to a site where negative reviews existed. For my money, that is a definite sign of integrity. I could have read these reviews and decided to take my future business elsewhere, but I do have an established relationship with Redhawk Auto Service from since before Michael even worked there and I know better. From one satisfied customer to you (a prospective customer), I've never received better service from an auto repair facility. The prices are very fair and have never exceeded an original quote. I've always asked for a quote before authorizing any repair and have always had that request honored. You will NOT be blind-sided here, unless (I suppose) you blind-side yourself. I don't know what else I can say in favor of choosing to have your car repaired (or at least have your fault assessed) by Redhawk Auto, but I have met the owner (and his wife) and have complete trust in their mechanics, their management and their business practices. In an imperfect world, I'm sure there will be miscommunications and hurt feelings, especially when money is concerned, but if you want FAIR dealings with an auto-service center, I strongly advise you take your vehicle to Redhawk Auto Service. read more

Took my brother's car in to change his brakes. Said it was the rear brake that needed to be changed and it'd cost $800. What?! The guy also handed back some screws and bolts and said he found that in the drum. Wouldn't release the car back to us because they didn't want to be "liable" due to the fact it wouldn't be safe to drive. Hmm... It drove fine from San Marcos before we took it in, all of a sudden they took a look and we can't even drive it? Basically forced to tow it to another auto center where they said it would cost $440.
