to Date, they never once got my order right. I ask for scrambled eggs on my bagel sandwich, and they come out over broken. It takes them a half hour to fix one simple order. I even stopped ordering a dozen to go cause I can't wait another half hour (I'm talking about one bagel) Service is always slow And they usually forget part of the order. And they always run out of coffee and never replenish it. i wish there was another bagel place with great customer service! (B&B just as bad) I'm always borderline of never going back. My boyfriend has ordered from here a few times and enjoyed it. I have only eaten here once but the food was good. A really nice breakfast spot. Nice decor and relaxing environment. It's a seat your self kind of deal once you order. They have a variety of cream cheeses and bagels to choose from, and they also have brunch items. The bagels are just so mediocre IMO. From NJ so maybe I'm spoiled but there has got to be a better place than this around here.

I was never able to hit up their original spot, but this newer place is set up nicely. The strip mall they are located in needed a shot in the arm. I was impressed with the inside, chairs set up around a electric fireplace, booths, table seating in the back, lots of coffee themed decor along with coffee bean sacks from around the world and plenty of room for seating. That will come in handy during and God willing after we get through this terrible COVID lifestyle. Was sad to see a little playroom area roped off and closed due to COVID, but that is unfortunately where we are these days. They have a warmer for some sandwiches to go, private label coffee, daily specials on a chalkboard, nice clear views of their different bagel offerings, but lacking descriptors on each type of bagel, but the staff was nice enough to point them out. Their coffee setup is self serve. Eats wise I decided to go with a sausage, egg and cheese on a cheddar jalapeno bagel. They told me 5-10 mins which seems long since I was the only customer inside. My sandwich came out just before 5 minutes and was packaged nicely. It was $5 and change. My first impression was that the sandwich was small, the bagel looked great, was fresh, doughy and on the smaller size. You aren't going to get a belly busting breakfast sandwich here, but it was fresh, and neatly made. The egg and sausage were fresh and decent. Bensalem is lucky to have several small business bagel/coffee shops in town. I expected more of a portion size for the price, but the bagel itself was good. The location is nice and clean. I've been on a bit of a bagel kick recently, bringing me to Redhouse Bagels in the Salem Center, Bensalem, PA. It is a large, comfortable shop with Kids Playroom (currently closed due to Covid), fire pit with worn easy chairs around it, and large self-serve coffee station with several java options. The vibe was welcoming and service friendly. I ordered an Onion Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese, one of my standards. It was ready in minutes, packed neatly in a white paper sack. I drove home and dove in. The dough wheel was regular size and there was enough spread for a balanced chew. First glance, the color of the bagel appeared pale white compared to others I have eaten in recent months. The toasted onion flakes were larger than most bagelries, and were only on the top crown, with none on the side nor bottom. Too, the texture was denser than I prefer, indicating more kneading than necessary for a lighter, airier center. All in all, it left the impression that this was really a plain bagel with onion flakes added later on. My guess is that they also bake with bleached flour, rather than unbleached, which provides more color and flavor. The bagel was okay, but would have been so much better with more attention to right ingredients, technique, and finish. A bagel school refresher course would likely do the trick. read more

My regular order is 6 rye and 6 raisin bagels. We come in once every two weeks. For the first time in my experience with REDHOUSE BAGELS we were very disappointed with the quality of the product and the response of the female manager that handled our complaint. The rye bagels were dry and lacking golden brown quality the REDHOUSE BAGELS always have. When I brought this to the attention of the female manager, I was told all the bagels are like this. She did nothing else for me. She did not care about taking care of a regular customer. The owner should review his security tape to see how this manager is supporting his business. We travel a distance for the quality of REDHOUSE BAGELS, BUT, no more your female manager has made sure of this....WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. My Mom and I were originally looking for a Stock's pound cake reseller in the area (to give as an Easter gift to my in-laws) and we found this establishment. We called ahead of time to make sure they had some in stock (lol, ironic pun) and they luckily did! We figured while we were at it, let's order some bagels/cream cheese. My Mom got a poppy bagel (Dunkin took those off their menu so she hasn't had one of those in a long time) with veggie cream cheese on the side, and I ordered a chocolate chip bagel with Oreo cream cheese. *Rating for the bagels and cream cheese only. I have not tried anything else here.* This morning I woke up with a craving for a bagel with cream cheese. I always love trying something new. I saw that on Google reviews, many people liked this place so I decided to give it a try for myself. Let me just start by saying that the establishment is very big and beautiful. Lots of seating inside, and incredibly spacious. Makes it very easy to social distance from others in these times. I'm not used to a bagel shop being this roomy, so that was a nice surprise. Also, the interior looks brand new and clean. They even have a small playroom for kids, which is closed likely due to COVID (a good reason). That's a first for a bagel shop, for me! This morning I got a toasted cheddar jalapeño bagel with chive cream cheese, and then a separate sliced cheddar jalapeño bagel and onion bagel to eat this week with the cream cheese in my fridge. This was all around $5.50. As of the time of writing this review, I've only tried the cheddar jalapeño bagel with chive cream cheese. And I have to say that it is DELICIOUS! Crispy, yummy exterior with a fluffy interior. You can even really taste the spicy kick of the jalapeño in the bagel. I would absolutely come back based on today's experience. Good stuff! read more

Great place for breakfast! We love stopping to get fresh bagels to go and breakfast sandwiches when we are on the run.

Look usually I have had good luck with this place great products usually good service not today, and they can't say they were busy it was empty around 11am. I ordered two bagels salt toasted with butter and a blueberry toasted with cream Cheese. I spent approximately $25.00 bucks with other bagels and spreads. How you mess up simple bagels first of all I don't know? my order slip was correct and this happens. Toasted nope, they were just shown the toaster like a freak at a peep show lol and were just raw and the salt with butter was worse it had cream cheese, no butter and less toasted if that was possible. I had left and then had to go back in, I give the nice although slightly clueless employee the bagel no apology and wait again after a time I get the next bagel. I leave again and guess what yep "my feet were more toasted on the beach In December." It was a waste my wife couldn't eat it and toasted. But look you waist a customers time like that and he spends on credit card and cash give them a bagel or something at least, oh yah and she took the wrong bagel to the back I hope that got tossed and not recycled. read more

I do love the bagels and sandwiches at this place. I would give it 5 stars for the food for sure. My only issue is how SLOW they are, this applies to both locations, before Covid and after. They always have super young workers at the register who aren't very familiar with the menu and often mess up. I always order the same sandwich(turkey club on an everything bagel) however you would be amazed at hour many times it has been wrong and I had to go back up to have them fix it. Once they just gave me a turkey bacon sandwich and once they just left off the bacon altogether. I was in there recently and waited 15 mins for one sandwich and one bagel with cream cheese and there was only one person ahead of me when I got there. This place used to have the best bagels around when they were at their old location, since they moved to their new location on hulmeville rd, quality and consistency has gone way down. Bagels are either overcooked or undercooked. Have gone a few times and thought maybe it was just an off day and give them another try. Was not an off day, always overcooked or undercooked. By the way she had my receipt in her hand. Some comes back again and then says no more everything bagels. She asked if I would like something else. I said no and said keep the money. Long post here because all details needed to be included - I wish Yelp would allow for no stars to be selected because that's what Redhouse Bagels deserves. This is our second time ordering from here and honestly our first time should have been the last, but we wanted to give them a second chance. Should have learned from our first experience. We ordered via chowhound.com the night prior and selected for a mid morning time the next day (Sunday). We arrived about 10 mins past our order time that we selected because of our first experience, the service was a bit slow as well. We check the prepaid order shelf and of course our order was not on the shelf. We asked the employee about our order status and also mentioned that we placed the order online the night prior. He tells us that he'll go to the kitchen to check but doesn't ask for our name so we yelled our name out to him as he walked to the kitchen. He comes back and says it's coming off of the grill now. In the meantime, the cashier was taking orders and advised the customer being waited on that the wait time is an hour and that the kitchen is backed up. A few of us looked around and a customer said how is the kitchen backed up with 10ppl in the restaurant? Another customer said he called in his order 20 mins prior and has been waiting at Redhouse for 35 mins just for 2 sandwiches (by the time he left, I think he waited a total of an hour). He asked the cashier to check on his order, which she does and comes back to wait on another customer without telling the other customer what she found out. (She did that to us as well as to 3 other customers.) The customer had to ask her what she found out and she said they're trying to look for his order so he said to cancel it and she says ok but proceeds to wait on another customer. You can't even get a refund even if you tried because they just tell you that it's being bagged, it's on the grill, it's almost done, etc. Another customer was paying for his order that was called in earlier and she said that the wait time has now changed to an hour and he was not happy because he was told his order would be ready in 20 mins. Another customer also said why would Redhouse send an email confirming that your order would be ready at the selected time if that is not the case? Several customers were walking out because of the wait time. The cashier advised a customer that there was a long wait time because they were short staffed - pretty surprising for a Sunday - sounds like poor management. If staff calls out or you did not have enough coverage then Redhouse should blackout online ordering and/or call in orders. Since Redhouse is an established business (whether on Bristol Pike or at this new location) they should already have a system down pat for fulfilling orders, whether it's online, call in or walk in. Kind of hard to support a small/independent business when they cannot even manage customers/kitchen on a Sunday, one of their busiest days. We would have been better off going to Dunkin Donuts or A&S Bagels. While we were waiting for our order, not sure if this was the Manager, but a guy in a blue pullover with the blue gaiter (that was not covering his face) was bringing up the caddy with the bagels into the kitchen. The Manager should be in the kitchen assisting the chef as well as coming out to the dining room to apologize to the customers waiting, instead you left your young employees to deal with the customers. The Management/Owners of Redhouse should take a course in learning how to be an effective manager. The young employees (specifically the cashier) should also be trained on customer service. Not once did the cashier or the food runner ever apologize to the customers once the orders finally came out so does Redhouse even value the customers OR do they not care and think they'll have customers regardless? It shows that they have not been properly trained but I don't blame the cashier, I blame Management for their lack of support to their employees. After waiting for 20 mins after our expected pickup time, we finally received our order. Of course they forget to pack maple syrup with our 2 orders of French toast sticks, they did not make one of our wraps correctly (they could not even follow their menu description) and we ordered a BLT which we selected a club roll but instead we got a BLT club sandwich so not sure why it is required to select the bread type if Redhouse is not going to honor your selection. Bottom line, terrible service, long wait, poor management and overpriced. read more
