Andy is skilled in customer service as well as appliance service, and he represents the company very well. The problem was likely some blockage in the dryer itself due to lint buildup, but also might be in the exhaust hose to the outside. The initial visit was $149, and we were told that when making the appointment. For $51 additional he would open up the dryer and vacuum out built-up lint that may have accumulated over the years, and we opted for that, to eliminate that as a problem. He did a very thorough job, but also we are going to have another company clean out the vent since lint buildup is a serious fire hazard. They aren't cheap, but with cheap you often get problems. For us the price was reasonable to have it done right.

To cap it all off, the technician left the dryer door swinging open the wrong way, completely blocking the opening to the area. Now, as a disabled person, I have to awkwardly maneuver and dance around the door just to get into it and use the machine. When I called to ask them to fix this basic oversight, they wanted to charge me another $150. For a job that cost well over $500 with parts and fees, basic attention to detail should be included--not treated as an opportunity to squeeze more money out of a customer. He told me he would be out the next morning between 12 and two. He arrived at the house at 12:30 was professionally dressed and did an amazing job identifying the problem and coming up with a solution. In this situation he presented me with two options. The unit in this home was 35 years old. The repair was going to cost me a substantial sum of money. A new unit would be not that much more for overall peace of mind. He had very clear and direct pricing. No hidden fees or shell game. I decided to replace the unit and his team was out the very next day and did a spectacular job. Each one of them diligently worked on their task while keeping the home very clean. My tenant was thoroughly impressed. She is an older lady who often complains when service workers don't meet her high expectations. Bill and his entire team exceeded her expectations. She called me numerous times to tell me how professional and polite they were. Bill kept me informed throughout the entire process. From the time I called to the time a brand new unit was fully installed was no more than 48 hours. Might I say this was right as we were getting ready to head into a heat wave.
