This office has multiple technological tools I've never seen before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We began with a digital patient intake form on the MyChart platform, which made it easy to complete.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I hate filling out intake forms by hand because it's hard to write small and nearly for an entire set of intake forms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (Maybe my fine motor control isn't so good?) Second was taking X-rays. Xrays usually hurt a lot for me because I have extra bone growth extending all around my lower jaw outward from my teeth laterally toward my tongue. So biting down hard and all the way on the cardboard film holder makes it dig into the tissue that covers these growths in my mouth, and that hurts me a LOT. NONE OF THAT HERE!!! They have a 3-D machine that rotates on a vertical axis around the patient's head, like a baseball catcher's helmet but far away from the face so it's not bothersome. It rotates all around and gets much better images plus avoids the older, painful process. read more

In March and April of 2026, I was under the care of Dr. Caroline Shelley at Redondo Denistry and Orthodontics. During a visit in which a bridge was removed, I suffered a painful cut on my tongue and a painful puncture wound in the lower right side of my mouth. A temporary bridge was installed and a few days later, the interior portion sheared off into jagged pieces which I swallowed. Another temporary bridge was later installed, and it completely fell out three days later. I obviously do not recommend this office and will soon be filing complaints with state licensing authorities as well as legal actions. read more

I had not had dental insurance for quite some time, so my teeth were in pretty bad shape. But, along with my new health insurance, I was able to get dental coverage. My brand new doctor discovered that I have a pretty severe Vitamin D deficiency, which could have contributed to my dental issues. (My old doctor never bothered to check that.) So, Redondo Dentistry is where my dental insurance company sent me. I was a little apprehensive, since I'd never been there before. I had a little trouble finding the location initially, since there's construction. There were no addresses or signs visible. But, it's in the Plaza where Whole Foods and Michael's are, just two doors down from the pet store. The office is clean and modern looking. Each exam room has a different large, colorful, "beach themed" mural, a great distraction for my anxiety. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was assigned to Dr. Shelly, and she is amazing! In fact, the majority of the staff were very kind and patient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was explained to me completely. The dentist wanted to remove all my fillings and do caps. One filling I had done in 2025. I am not having any issues. Went In for a cleaning. They pretended to scrape a couple teeth and called it a day. I would not even call it a cleaning. I will never go back. I had a great first visit at Redondo Dentistry, which makes this review all the more disappointing. During my initial visit, they took X-rays and told me I needed a deep cleaning -- something I was expecting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After checking my insurance benefits, the front office staff enthusiastically told me, "Oh, you have great insurance! Everything is covered."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fast forward to my second visit for the scheduled deep cleaning, and the experience took a sharp turn. Upon arrival, I was told I had a $220 co-pay. Naturally, I was confused and asked what the charge was for. Ben W. informed me it was for "bacteria and decontamination," coded under D4999 -- which my insurance confirmed is a no-cost code. Ben then told me my insurance doesn't have a specific code for that service, so the office chose to use a no-cost placeholder code -- yet still tried to charge me $220 out of pocket. He offered me two options: 1) remove the service, or 2) pay for it. My issue isn't with the price. It's with the lack of transparency and last-minute surprise charges. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch. I lost trust in the office immediately. If this is how they handle billing and communication, I'm certainly not going to trust them with any dental work. I am no a happy camper. I have recently moved to Redondo Beach from the San Diego area. I have USA Delta Care and this office is my nearest provider. I saw doctor Shelly. A month after moving here my crown came out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was easily able to get in to see Dr. Shelly to look at the tooth that lost the crown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She informed me the tooth needed to be extracted. I had this done elsewhere to save money. Then, last week I lost part of a canine tooth. I am not sure how (if it had a previous filling that just fell out or part of the tooth literally broke off). The tooth is now jagged, exposed and hallow. The exposed part is unprotected by enamel. I called Redondo Dentistry Dental Group. They said they could not see me until Tuesday morning (May 5th) which would have been 5 days from the time I called them. Reluctantly, I made the appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However in the late afternoon on May 4th (the day before the scheduled morning appointment) I received a call from their offices telling me there had been a mixup and the could not see me until May 26th[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Say what? I called them on April 31st and the soonest anyone could see me for this emergency situation is May 26th. I explained that I feel my tooth is vulnerable as the reason it may feel "broken" is that a filling may have fell out of a previously filled cavity in that area. If this is the case that area of the the tooth has no enamel covering and is vulnerable to further decay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They said they would put me on their waiting list and let me know if there are any cancellations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Until recently I have always had insurance that allowed me to go to private dentists. I have been a patient here for around 5 years. I suspect I have spent more than $10k in out of pocket services across those five years on services for myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I received an odd voice mail late in the day before my cleaning today asking if I could move my appointment up by an hour. I called back this morning advising that I could not and they said that was no problem[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I arrived at the office for my appointment 5 minutes beforehand. My insurance has been updated since last year and so I brought my new card and handed it to the front desk receptionist. Note also that my wife has the same insurance and has already been to the office this year so they had the insurance information on file[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I wait. I wait longer. 20 minutes after my appointment time they call me to the front desk and ask if I can push my appointment from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., it being 9:20 a.m. at this point I tell them that I cannot, and they advise that since it was taking them a while to update my insurance information, I needed to rebook for another day. Again, I arrived 5 minutes early, hand them my card, they have my info on file regardless due to my wife being there earlier this year, and they called me the night before asking if I could move my appointment around. There was also about 10 people waiting in the lobby which is more than I have ever seen before. I am fairly certain they were overbooked and looking for a reason to push me out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Whatever the real reason, they need to understand that people's time is valuable. If I needed to show up earlier than 5 minutes before my appointment due to new insurance because my appointment will get pushed out while they are "verifying" it, then tell me that[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I should also note that this was a simple cleaning, which is not a particularly expensive treatment, and I've had 3 expensive oral surgeries there in the past, never without insurance. Regardless, that process today cost them my business and my immediate family's business. read more

They said that they sent me a check bit isn't true. Be careful with them because even if you finish paying them the balance they still steal your money. As soon as I hear the words "deep cleaning" from a dentist I know the place is fishy and trying to upsell unnecessary expensive treatment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was my first time to this dentist, since I switched my insurance and had to leave my usual dentist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I routinely get my 6 month regular cleaning and don't have any problems with my teeth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To start, this place cancelled my appointment last minute (an hour before) twice. So not the best first impression.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They took x rays, which of course is standard for a first appointment, but was told the hygienist accidentally took the x rays upside down. Then I saw Dr Vukotic. He checked my teeth and said there were no issues, no bleeding, nothing. Then he asked if I'd ever had a deep cleaning. I'm going to assume that because there weren't any issues with my teeth he didn't try to sell me on it, but I know from my usual dentist that the service of "deep cleaning" is usually just a way for dentists to make money. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr Vukotic made me very uncomfortable with some of his comments including asking me if I'm married, then when I said no, he proceeded to say enjoy it while it lasts. He also said be careful because the dating scene in Southern California is filled with some bad people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Um what? It was so weird and off-putting especially since it was my first time meeting him. I will definitely not be returning. I was initially charged $119 for the emergency consultation, then $120 for the assessment, and finally $1140 for a filler treatment. I ended up paying for the membership based on the dentist's estimate, and overall, I felt misled by the unexpected fees and lack of transparency. read more

After reading the previous reviews I wasn't sure what to expect when a downgrade in our insurance forced us to switch providers. I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service and care both my son and I received. We were seen within 10 minutes of our appointment time and the women at the front desk were friendly. Dr Vukotic made my 12 year old son's first visit to a non pediatric dentist comfortable. He has a calm, kind demeanor that can put anyone at ease. I had an appt scheduled right after my son with another dentist but he took it upon himself to move me onto his calendar so our family could be seen by one provider. Very thoughtful! I ended up needing a deep cleaning and was scheduled with the hygienist Yomara the next day. I was pretty nervous and had heard how this is an unpleasant procedure. Yomara was so extremely careful and gentle that it was honestly better/easier than any regular cleaning I've ever had! I was so impressed and relieved when she said "all done". I was like wait, that's it? Yes, there is a bit of a pinch for the numbing shots, but the worst part about the deep cleaning was the high pitched scraping sound every once in a while. I rarely write reviews but I felt this office and it's staff deserved some praise. If you're hesitant about visiting like I was, just go in and see for yourself. If I could give negative 10 stars I would. I never write reviews but this has to be done to save any potential patients from getting caught up in this racket. I had a procedure done 2yrs ago. I was conned into going on some payment plan as the procedure was $1800 dollars. When it was explained to me, I was led to believe that the payment plan was through the dental office itself. I agreed to get the procedure done as I was again conned that it needed to be done. What I was not told or explained to was that the payment plan was not done by them but by a third party called: smile generation. I have been making payments for the last 2yrs. When I looked at my statements three months ago, the balance should have been at roughly $700. I was shocked to see it was at $1400. I thought there must be some mistake. I called the dental office who basically laughed at me and said not their problem that I had to contact the third party who actual did the loan. When I called them they repeatedly made some excuse that I had to pay it off in 12 months. I was not told this at the time of signing up. They then told me I had to pay the balance of in 6 months or they would charge me again. I made my last payment a week ago. I looked at my balance today. It is now at $2100!!!!!!!!!!!! They had just charged me $830 dollars for not paying it off entirely in 18 months because they had me on a promotional plan. Again absolutely none of this was explained to me at the dentist office when I signed up for this after I was conned into it. I called the dental office same scenario. Sorry not our fault or our problem. Call the third party people. Called them again exact same thing. The tooth that the procedure was done is now throbbing again. The dental work done was absolutely terrible. Now a procedure that was supposedly going to cost $1800 is now well over $3,000. I can not stress enough how crooked and dishonest this office alongside with shady dental work. I encourage everyone and anyone to stay as far away as possible from this place. Seriously go elsewhere. It is incomprehensible how deceitful and manipulative this practice is. Between my aching tooth and the thousands of dollars they have screwed me out of this has been a total nightmare that has been going on for 2yrs. This place might be alright if you have multiple hours on hand to wait around for basic appointments, but after two attempted visits I have failed to receive any care within a reasonable timeframe. Do not recommend! My first appointment ended after I had waited well over an hour, at which point I only had X-rays taken - I was not able to accommodate a 2+ hour window to have the dental exam and cleaning at that point, so I left and attempted to reschedule. I just went back for my second appointment - after waiting in the lobby for 30+ minutes following my scheduled appointment time I was finally called back, only to be told there was an additional wait before the doctor was even ready to begin the exam. So it would have been another 1.5-2 hours total to actually receive the exam and cleaning. read more

The staff and doctors here are disorganized and does not communicate. When you walk in, everyone's all over the place. My first visit here already left a bad impression but I gave them another chance. On my first visit, they made me wait 2 hours when I came to get my cleaning as well. I ended up not getting it because I had to go back to work. They expected me to wait 3 hours for a regular cleaning? The second time I came was the worst. I came for my oral surgery to see Coppelson. They made me wait 2 months. The Oral surgeon just comes once a month, the first time they scheduled my appointment, I had to cancel because I was scheduled for SURGERY. Something came up that day and it involved physical activity. So I had to wait another month to see the surgeon. 2nd month came, on the day of my surgery, Coppelson, whom I do not recommend to anyone at all, looked at my xray and said that he is not comfortable doing it in the clinic and would require hospitalization and started marketing his own practice. So he said, the option would be to pay the hospital fees and his service directly. He also started recommending jaw surgery and other treatments that I did not come there for. We are not dumb people. According to him, my case is complex. Which is true. What made me upset, was he made me wait 2 months, staff asking me to fast, me and my wife took days off, only to tell me.. that the visit was basically for CONSULTATION?! So you need to fast and have a driver with you for a consultation? Cuz that's what we were asked to do when they called a day before the appointment! I coulda stopped by last month and saved myself one month. We then asked the people at the front to confirm and said otherwise. He also said i am the second patient he turned away. All he did was look at the xray while my mask was on, did not look at my mouth till he said that he will not do it, firmly. That all happened within 5 mins. That was okay, but for him to waste two months of my time, having to take days off, cancelled other commitments for this surgery, when he couldve just reviewed all the xrays before my appointment, is truly unacceptable. He has a bad work ethic and i would not trust this doctor at all. We are very busy individuals and we dont have the luxury of time to keep going back and forth and deal with the run arounds. I came to see another surgeon who confirmed the case is complex BUT IT CAN BE DONE in a clinic setting. And this surgeon is well known, experienced and educated. I also saw an ortho same week with excellent reviews that also confirmed and bewildered why the surgeon would not perform the surgery. Cause he also confirmed that IT CAN BE DONE IN AN OFFICE SETTING. He gave me better recommendation and tips than my general dentist, the level of care was so much better given that it was an initial consultation and its a specialist's office. Unbelievable! What's funny was I asked my sister who was the oral surgeon that turned her away for the most obnoxious reason, and guess who. Its Coppelson. I have a timeline for my treatment, i would need to get an ortho treatment after this. Now its getting pushed back because i trusted this dental office and waited. When I could have just looked elsewhere and saved alot of my time and my wife's. If your surgeon is not confident enough to perform a surgery, isn't prepared, does not read notes, does not review xrays before seeing his patients, doesnt want to be or work where he's at, does not value his patients time, does not have their patients best interest, I would never see that doctor again after an initial consultation. The front people of course said that they were upset too because according to them, they sent him an email to review my case and we werent the first patient he turned away. I have spoken to two surgeons about my case and even UCLA school of dentistry was able to make an appointment for me the following week. Kaiser, my medical provider, also made an appointment for me same month for malocclusion. This surgery if i ever need it will be covered by my insurance! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Well let first say that I fear going to the Dentist. At 82, I am still like a kid. 2 cleanings ago I had a total meltdown and had to call our daughter for support. What Wennie! Well, I just had a Crown put on this week and my fear is gone. The Dentist name is Aleksandar Vuktic, DDS. I never felt the needle and he had such a great personality. In June 2021, I went to Redondo Dentistry because I had 2 teeth that had cracked and pieces had broken off. I was told by Dr. Vukotic that I needed 2 crowns and that one of them had to be the more expensive ceramic crown since there was not enough of my tooth left for the less expensive porcelain crown. I was given no other option. Even though I had dental insurance, I had to pay the full amount of $1,570. In May 2022, I received a letter from my insurance company that they needed information from Redondo Dentistry to process the claim. In July 2022, I received an EOB from my insurance company denying the claim since the additional information requested had not been provided. In October 2022, I received another EOB denying the claim. After the second denial, I contacted my insurance company and was informed that the provider only needed to provide the requested info to process the claim. I was also told that I should only have been charged my co-pay of $640 and not $1,570. I contacted Redondo Dentistry and was told that the office was too busy to provide the requested information and that it was not on the priority list as the office had already been paid in full for the services I received. I asked about the over payment and was told that I had to pay the full amount for the ceramic crown as this was not covered by insurance. This amount is $540 and not the $930 that I was over charged. After speaking to Redondo Dentistry, I called my insurance company and they contacted the dental office. They were told that Redondo Dentistry would not be providing the information needed to process my claim. My insurance company said that they had never been told this by a provider. I filed a grievance with my insurance company. Redondo Dentistry took advantage of me by requiring me to pay the balance in full when I provided them with my insurance information. They refused to provide the info to the insurance company that would result in a refund to me. This is unconscionable and should come with repercussions. It would have taken about 10 minutes or less for Redondo Dentistry to provide the information that my insurance company requested to process the claim. From reading some of the other reviews, it is common for Redondo Dentistry to over charge. They got their money so why should they help me to get some of the money that I paid back? Because it is the right thing to do. I would not recommend that anyone go to this dental office. I am already looking for a replacement dentist. Hopefully, I can find one that cares about their patients. read more
