Noodles were a Bit overdone than my liking and were not as chewy as one would expect from a ramen spot. Gave this place 3 stars cause the broth was good, edible but nothing special. I would not recommend getting the Mac' and cheese as it was just more so sweet than spicy, noodles seemed over done and nothing special about the sauce. The more I had, the better it tasted as my tastebuds got accustomed to the novel flavor profiles of this unique ramen. King & Queen: Wow, that's some really good truffle oil. The truffle oil really adds to the ramen, and it isn't too overpowering. For both ramens, I really liked the soy meat. It really is a great meat substitute and has an interesting texture. Noodles had a great chew to them. The broth wasn't too salty, so I downed the entire bowl. Apparently cheese is extra, but that was unclear. The server just asked us if we wanted everything and we said yes. Make sure you're not accidentally paying for any add-ons that you don't want. The cheese was nice to have, but definitely not a necessity. I'm unhappy with how we were tricked into paying extra. I also unfortunately did find a hair in my ramen, but they were quick to replace it for me. Nice and cozy space. It was a bustling lunch rush + the winter chill, so there was a short line out the door to order at the counter and find some seats. I went as a party of 2 and only had to wait for about 10 minutes until we got seated inside and ordered our meals. There is limited seating inside but the customer turnaround time is pretty quick. As for the food, I ordered the Dragon - umami super hot ramen. I thought it was going to be a little spicier and slightly numbing like other ramens I have had, but this was one was a subtle spice with a very rich umami broth. The toppings were plentiful and the portion size is perfect for an empty stomach. As a vegan friendly noodle shop, I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the soup, the chew of the noodles and the variety of toppings. I'm usually very skeptical of plant-based meats but they managed to make this one taste pretty good. I tried the dragon breath ramen. I think they give you a default masterpiece ramen with habanero sauce on the side. The habanero sauce packed a strong kick but you could add as much or as little of it as you want. My friends and I were passing by during a shopping day on Newbury St and decided to drop for a quick lunch. I had the Sapporo Classic, which was simple, inexpensive, and quite good! Also, it might not be the most standard, but I particularly adore having corn in my ramen. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the flavours of the broth and meat-substitute since most ramen places don't offer/really neglect their vegan/vegetarian options. This food is AMAZING! There is no lack for flavor at all like when I think of some vegan. The broth is so rich and spicy (we got the spicy miso) the noodles are toothsome and thick and delicious. We got the special and it comes with rice and cheese on the side so that when the noodles are gone you put the rice and cheese in the broth for a risotto. It's like having 2 separate delicious dishes. The staff here was so nice and helpful and made sure to check on us a couple times. This has got to be hands down the best ramen I have ever had. When you walk in the tables are set up with these cool lights that make it seem super intimate but relaxed. If you like ramen at all you have to come here!!! Terrible experience with their delivery service! Ordered for a 6pm delivery during a flight into Boston and their system converted it to 9pm. Texted the restaurant, called them immediately upon landing to change the delivery time and was told they don't have my order and I should cancel and reorder. There was no candle option, the only option was to call the restaurant. I did reorder for the 6pm delivery and called the restaurant back numerous times and they never answered. Apparently they did deliver the 2nd order after I was asleep which I didn't receive. Given this was booked through their app they should have some way to cancel or modify orders. It was pretty salty so I added a fair amount of water to dilute the broth which wasn't a problem since I usually enjoy more broth anyways. The Ramen itself was a little bit more firm than I am used to. However, I also prefer undercooked rather than over. Given that the dish was entirely vegan, I was surprised at the depth and umami flavors. I appreciated the toppings offered as it provided varied taste and texture each bite. I also got the No 11 (Yuzu Ginger) to go. The ambiance was cozy, its a small place but there were plenty of tables available which was surprising for lunch time. As other reviews have mentioned, the flavor profile of vegan ramen is distinct from traditional ramen. So its best to go in with an open mind and not compare the two. The No 9 broth was flavorful and the truffle was subtle. Next time I want to try one of the spicier options. Later at my hotel, I had the No 11 with miso avocado on top. I've tried all the flavors at Red White and while I can say they're all excellent the yuzu sesame is the best. To my knowledge there aren't any meat-based products on site, even as add ons, so no risk of contamination. Adding cheese helps to make the ramen creamy, Ordering the "signature" ramen means it comes smoked. The restaurant does this by covering the bowl in a dome and smoking it inside, but aside from looking cool and smelling good when you uncover it, it doesn't add last or add anything to the flavor. First you order and pay at the counter and then sit down. Since the counter is right by the door the line can look really backed up, but it moves quickly and the orders come out quickly too. Love this place for vegan ramen. The food gets 5 stars. I get the spicy miso and it does not disappoint . The toppings are all perfect and the portion is huge. I have been here several times and have always enjoyed it. I just went last night and they now serve the soup in a smoked dome for an additional charge. My daughter tried the smoked bowl but didn't like how it changed the taste of her ramen. It's a small place and this smoke really smelled up the place. I'm surprised the smoke alarm didn't go off. It was too much for such a tiny place and made it hard to enjoy dinner. The smoke smell stayed in my hair all night!! I really really hope they quit offering the smoked bowl.
