Our room view was beautiful! The water was calm and views from the room of the Bay were breath taking! Complimentary breakfast provided by the wonderful staff was a setting fit for a queen and king! The front desk, it didn't matter who was there they greeted us everytime. This place is classy but makes you feel the hospitality is down home. We come to Sausalito at least once a year and always stay at the Inn Above Tide. It's located on the waterfront and each room has the perfect view of the ocean, looking out towards the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Bridge. All the rooms have their own private deck where you can relax with a glass of wine or champagne and take in the beautiful views of the city of San Francisco. All the shops and restaurants on Bridgeway St. are within walking distance of the Inn. It is also right next to the Ferry where you can purchase tickets for a ride into San Francisco. When you arrive, you are greeted at the gate of their private parking lot, where your car is safely stored during your stay. Check-in is always easy and all the staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. They offer a Continental breakfast that is served buffet-style in their Drawing Room or you can have your breakfast delivered to your room for a $5 fee. Every evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. they have wine, cheeses, crackers, and fresh fruit for all guests in their Drawing Room. You can also arrange to have this delivered to your room as well. When we arrived to our suite, they had a lovely anniversary surprise waiting for us inside. They had a silver tray on our table, with a white rose, a bottle of champagne, a box of Napa Valley chocolates, and a lovely card to welcome us. When we booked our stay, for this trip, we chose the City Lights Suite. The inside of the suite is beautiful, luxurious, immaculate, and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. I have an allergy to feathers. They made sure our pillows and bedding did not contain any down feathers. They had fresh, gorgeous orchids in the main part of the suite as well as the en suite bathroom. If you want to watch a movie, they have a huge catalog of DVDs, you can pick from, to watch in your room. They really go above and beyond to make your stay an unforgettable experience. That's why we always come back. I want to especially thank all the staff for making us feel welcome and making our stay extra special.

Location wise, short walk to the putting area and club house. The only drawback is it's a 2-story and no elevator. Good old fashion stairs with 2 landings before you reach the top. I watched a guest struggle, carrying HEAVY looking luggages to the second floor. My complimentary glass water bottle fell out of my purse and crash landed on the foyer floor as soon as we entered our room and I had to quickly use towels to sweep the shards and water before I can admire our space. I'm glad there was an abundance of towels as oppose to other hotels where it's an exact set on occupancy. Staff was attentive to get it cleaned up as well as provide an iron and board. They only offer steamer in the room. Our room is well appointed with nice calming colors. Loved how our room had a balcony. Not all upper units have one. A couple of inconveniences: the person below us had their music loud with bass during the day and then again during the evening around 10pm. I didn't call, as I was tempted to but only if it continued. They finally stopped at a decent time. The second was a first floor guest smoking weed. Some permeated through our window because I dropped my spoon on the floor (we ordered room service). It was verified when I opened the balcony door real quick to make sure it's what I smelled. We also experienced some odd protocols after we had a nice lunch at Mullin's (clubhouse). We thought it would be nice to have dessert at the outdoor ocean terrace area. We walked the grounds and asked if we can have a seat with shade. One staff went to check, however once I mentioned we were looking at getting dessert, the hostess turned it around and said for us sit at the bar or seating area beside the hostess stand. What was left were seats in the sun, plus in the seating area folks were sitting here and there. We wanted a table, which I did see there were some closer to the greens. I felt that as an overnight guest, it wouldn't matter dessert or meal, I'm a paying guest, not a visitor. So we left and went to check out The Conservatory. I checked in with the host and mentioned we'd like to have dessert (I was asked if any allergies) and was asked if we'd like the traditional seating area which would be a wait. We waited and got a table in the center. We got the menu and asked for the dessert menu. We were told not in that area, but the next one over. We were confused. I even saw the fake display dessert where we sat. And after all that waiting, we succumbed and just ordered food. Even with these oddities, we still had a great time. Staff provided excellent service. From check-in (Justin), adjusting keys for late check out (Stephen) to staff at Mullin's (we are there again before we left the property), golf staff, room service, to the front greeters at valet. The bag pipe performance, as he walked down the pathway was beautiful. The property views, just amazing!!!! We'd love to come back next year. The Ocean House would be the next spot.

I ordered room service and was overwhelmingly disappointed, every dish just got worse. The Caesar salad could've easily came from a bag, and the dressing was so thick it wouldn't come out of the saucer. The French fries were cold and stale, like they were made earlier and waiting for someone to order. The braised beef was not braised in any way. The beef was so dry it was hard to chew, with minimal sides. After contemplating to DoorDash something else since I was left hungry, still, I decided to give room service a second shot and order dessert. The dessert is what prompted me to leave this review. I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Dana point and do not remember such service. The ice cream was nearly melted when arriving to the room if you can't serve it close to frozen then it shouldn't be on the menu. And the cookies 100% came from Costco bakery. I was blown away with how cold they are. How do you serve cold chocolate chip cookies? Again, probably plate it, and then sitting in the fridge. With such a beautiful hotel and location, I would recommend eating elsewhere. $300 wasted on prepackaged food. I'd rather stay at the four seasons.

We got champagne at check in along with fantastic cookies. The room was well appointed with a fireplace and private hot tub in room. The shower too was spacious, clean, and powerful. Overall the place checked all the boxes and then some. The breakfast was over and above our expectations. Fresh fruit and a delicious homemade muffin to start. Cold juices and hot coffee. Yogurt and granola. All before the menu comes out with a custom made hot breakfast. My wife got avocado toast and I got an omelette. Both came with house made potatoes and mine had an option for a variety of toasts to choose from. All delicious and a great way to start the day. Really grateful to have found this place and already thinking about when we could go back. Also, perhaps most important, it's walkable to just about everything downtown, including the oxbow market and all the restaurants and shops in between, of which there are many.
