Our project started with a simple leaky shower and by "simple," I mean a bizarre, German‑engineered contraption that seemed to have crawled out of the nether realm to test our sanity. I'm a renter and the team worked seamlessly between myself and my landlord, it was so easy for everyone! After trying a more simple and cost effective option that didn't work we only then went to a full unit swap out. No one was pushed into a whole new unit right off the bat. Our experience began with a simple call to reroute some supply lines for a bathroom vanity installation during our home renovation. Mike came out to look at the situation. Something must have caught his attention because before long he was tracing drain lines under the house. Turns out that it was what surgeons sometimes call a 'peek and shriek'. A couple of the drain lines had been completely eaten through with corrosion and there were others that were well along the way with galvanic corrosion... there was actually raw sewage that had seeped out under the house... and a copper supply pipe was touching a galvanized pipe which had eaten it's way into the wall of galvanized pipe as well. In other words, our drain system was an absolute mess. After a quick schedule check, it turned out that the Redwood Pipe team could replace or repair the system the following week. We chose 'replace' and gave them the thumbs up... they originally estimated three days for the work, but they put the entire team on it and were able to do it in just two. It was awesome! The team was extremely courteous, respectful and careful... after it was done, except for the dust (totally expected), it was like they were never here. Now the drain system is functioning, up to code and ready for at least another 60 years of use. My husband asked for a quote to replace a 15feet straight leaking pipe in our yard (see picture). The quote came back including digging the trench to expose the pipe and it was quite pricey($4k). My husband dug the trench himself, had it all clean and ready for them to give us another quote without including the digging. I had my hot water heater fail on 7/21. I called Redwood and they were able to send someone out the next day, who quoted me $2600 for a full replacement (40gal gas heater, supply lines, pan). I agreed, and they came out to do the job 7/23. The employee who did the replacement spent about an hour working, said he was done, and then came back shortly after saying he forgot to test something and was there for about another hour. He also failed to replace the pan, leaving a corroded, 10 year old pan under a brand new tank. I called Redwood the next day to clarify why the pan wasn't replaced, and was told they would look into it. I also asked what the employee forgot to test, and was told he forgot a tool, but no clarity on why getting a tool required him to come back to my house for an additional hour. A few days after, they called back and said that the employee had offered to quote a pan replacement and I declined, and that it would cost $500 to have them come back out. I clarified I did not deny getting the pan replaced (it's a $25 part...), and they said they'd call back. Shortly later they did, and said they'd make it right. The original employee came back a few days later to finish the job. In the process, he must've cut his hand and left blood smeared inside the utility closet and my hallway wall. I hope he's ok, but leaving that kind of mess is unacceptable. They also scratched my front door getting items in and out of the house. I discussed all this with the owner via email. He apologized, said he'd look into it, and also (quoted from the email) "but sometimes these guys are like holes in a china shop. So I'm not surprised when I hear something like this. Even hopefully I can't be still confidence in her work". That was the last communication I had from them. I would not recommend Redwood. read more

Mike and his team at Redwood Pipe and Drain just completed a full repipe of my new mountain home. I highly recommend their work. Here's some additional context: I bought the new home without realizing that the pipes were old most likely original, threaded galvanized pipe. We came home one night to a leak sprung at the intersection of the house piping and the water main. After calling the guy from the city to see about where the Water main was and how to shut it off, he advised that we were likely going to need some new piping on the Water main due to its proximity to our redwood trees. I got several quotes to do the work, and we were consistently advised that it made sense to re-pipe the whole house because of the old galvanized piping. Mike came by to do the quote himself and educated me thoroughly about everything I needed to know about this type of work. As he promised, they were not the least expensive nor the most expensive option. However it was clear that he really knew what he was doing, Many years of experience and plumbing, and their work would be high-quality. I also liked the personal view of meeting the business owner. On the day of installation, Mike was not able to be on site himself for a personal reason. I was hesitant about this at first, but his team did an excellent job, both with the work and also communication. They were considerate and kind and enthusiastic about the job. One of them even came back afterward to fix a small leak that occurred on the sink drain that was not part of their original scope, But may have been unintentionally impacted by their work. Addition to the pipes, we ended up installing a new hot water heater, installing an under-sink water filter, and changing the sink fixtures in the house as well. I ended up investing a lot more on this project than just a quick fix on a pipe, but I'm very glad I did. And I feel confident that everything under the house is done correctly and will have the kind of longevity I would like it to have as new homeowners. If you are considering working with Mike and his team, I recommend taking the next step. Two small things to be conscious of, clean up was not their strongest suit. I had to make a number of requests about re attention to detail on clean up, and there are a few choices made when draining the old water heater that left a bit of a mess near the end. And we could've done a better job of covering floors and services to prevent extra cleanup. Just make sure your expectations in this domain are clear and you talk them through, rather than assume. Lastly a small found object went missing from the basement during the time of the work. It's not clear if it was thrown away or otherwise removed. We have not located it yet but are still working on tracking it down. This does not at all deter me from recommending the team, but again make sure your expectations are super clear. read more

Could not recommend them enough!! We called for a sewer line backup, turns out we need an entirely new sewer line. It was a major job and they finished in two days. Everyone from the receptionist, to the first technician who came out and diagnosed (Jen), to all the guys who worked on the sewer line, to the owner ..were ALL AMAZING. They were sooo friendly and nice to work with. They spent hours on our property and were so respectful. They even cleaned up, hosed down and swept after the job was complete (which no maintenance companies has ever done after working here). Our sewer line is working like a dream and they even had contracted a concrete person to re do the part of the concrete that had to be taken out the same week. They are quick and do the job right. Well my old water heater decided to take a poop on me in the middle of a shower so I called around a few places and everyone either didn't answer or was booked out a week. When I called Redwood Pipe Britney answered the phone (super nice!) she said that Mike the owner could come out that day and see what needed to be done. Mike came by the same day to check out our situation in our newly purchased house and delivered an honest and clear plan of scope. He admitted they were on the higher end of the rate scale but that it reflected the higher quality of work, and it sure did. If you want it done right, you hire the professionals. Mike recognized the urgency in our situation (wife 8 months pregnant and delivering at home with leaded copper pipes poisoning the system) and moved around his schedule to arrange work the following week and brought his full team (all members super nice and willing to ensure everything is completed to high standards) to accomplish a miracle in 3 days. We now have new mixed PEX and safe copper pipes and drains that actually make sense, that are fully functional, that follow regulatory rules and design, and produce actual water pressure. They even redid our laundry system, moved the units to the new location and rerouted the lint exhaust tube to ensure safety compliance. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive quote that we got, but they did great work. They were very knowledgeable, prompt and reliable.
