Ugh! Home maintenance is a chore I greatly dislike; Reed Bros made the task of fixing my deadbolt easy. A call on Monday was answered promptly and an appointment scheduled for the next morning between 8-10am. A note was made that I needed to vacate my home by 10am. I wanted to say a huge thanks to Juss at Reed Brothers. I got locked out of my house early today, Sunday morning, when I went to feed my outdoor cats. Ugh! Gotta remember to unlock that auto-locking door. I'd just put my coffee on the stove, one of those stove top espresso makers, and my dogs were inside. Thankfully, I had my phone, and have used Reed Brothers a few times for this same problem (yes, I had a key outside, but used it, never replaced it, and here we are). Juss was so great. I got what I needed from them in less than ten minutes after wandering in! 3 key copies. And they all work perfectly! (Oh you know what I'm talking about if you've ever gotten copies made at Home Depot!) It was a good thing I arrived before 5:30pm because while the store hours on yelp say they're open 24/7 their actual Store Hours are up to 5:30pm on weekdays and 5pm weekends - their security and locksmith services are what's open all day and night! So I arrived at 5:20pm and they were actually pretty busy in there with a handful of customers. Yet, I was greeted quickly and a minute later was helped by someone. I told him what I needed, he showed me all my choices for a key - he even offered me hello kitty (at least I think it looked like hello kitty)!! - then he went and made the 3 copies I asked for. He thought he fixed our system but it started chirping again shortly after he left. Then they couldn't send out someone to fix it until the next day. This is a shout out for Juss. My lock on my backyard studio was stuck. There was no way to get into this lock from the outside. Juss worked the lock, then looked for other ways to get in trying all the windows, looked at vents and never gave up. I really appreciated his professionalism and determination. Not only did he provide excellent customer care, he was also trying to help other customers when they called, sadly for them I have bad cell reception at my house. My wife and I drove to Reed Brothers in San Leandro after speaking to Hector on the phone. I described what we are considering for purchase and installation. We wanted to look at a variety of choices. "Come on down" some in the store and many more in warehouse. On the ramp of the warehouse he painstakingly showed us several choices. Found exactly what we imagined. On Tuesday an estimator will be at our home. Hector placed a note in our record to the estimator indicating our selection. Painstaking as these doors are heavy to lug for our viewing. He was patient, cheerful, chatty and got to know our tastes thru showing us many doors. And then he picked the perfect door for us to consider. I don't know if you could ask for Hector, I know I will every time I return and suggest same to my friends. We had a large safe that would not open. We made various attempts on our own even working with the manufacturer and had no luck. We called Reed Brothers Security and Ron came out along with Andre. The safe proved to be extremely challenging even for their expertise level. However, Ron was dogged in figuring out how to get the safe open. I was happy with the service here. I came in to get 3 new doorknobs rekeyed so that I wouldn't have to deal with having so many keys. I was helped by Antoine (Tony) who was super helpful to me. He quoted me the doorknobs and rekeying price for buying doorknobs there as: Doorknobs ($30 ea) Rekeying ($6 ea) Total = $108 I noticed that the same doorknobs cost $10 each at the Home Depot 1 mile away, in which Tony informed me that I can choose to go that route but then the rekeying cost would be $15 each for outside bought products. I just bought a used car with switchblade keys, and the blade had fallen off the spare key. I bought a new blade online to have cut, but neither home depot, nor my local locksmith had the equipment to cut it. My local locksmith recommended Reed Brothers, and I'm very glad they did.
