The bartenders are super arrogant and have a bad attitude. You show them a picture of a drink from Yelp and they say they don't know what it is, even though it's clear they could make it in many ways. I really didn't like the service; it was not "nice" as people say. It seems like they treat some people better than others. Also, the view is not really a rooftop -- everything is indoors. Went on a Sunday evening for a quick date night. Had a few drinks and an appetizer. There was only the bartender so we'd go to the bar to order rather than order from our seats. The seating is nice and casual and spread out. My only complaint is to get the rooftop views you have to actively stand up and go to the window. With the normal old school windows the view isn't easily seen while sitting on the lounge chairs so it can just feel like you're in another bar. Overall it is unique and we had a good night would just love to have that view a bit better! read more

I recently embarked upon a mission to visit all the rooftop bars in Fort Worth and Refinery 714 was my first. My visit happened to be on my birthday - midweek this year - so the bar was not crowded at all. The decor was welcoming and the ambiance was relaxed. Easy seating at the bar, and the bartender was attentive and made some excellent drinks for us. I had an Old Fashioned that was outstanding, and my date had a Margarita that she described as 'perfect'! I need to add that this bar is at the top floor of The Harper, not the rooftop, so you can enjoy this bar year-round. The views are great and the drinks are better! read more

So the wife likes to find cool little spots that serve great cocktails and she found this place, Refinery 714 in Fort Worth. We normally don't go to Fort Worth for anything and I really didn't want to for this place, but she was wanting to nice drink for the evening, so I promised her we would go. It's actually in a nice area in downtown Fort Worth atop The Harper building with nice views. We got there a little before 5:30 and found seats closest to the end of the bar, because like some have mentioned, if tons of people are at the bar, it's kind of tough to order a drink. There is plenty of seating once you get your drink, but yeah. Anywho, things started off great, the drinks were nice and strong. Tori the senior bartender made me a drink called The Last Words, which was really great. There was another younger bartender I forget her name but let's just call her Madison, she looked like a Madison, she made my other drink I forgot what it was called. We had a total of 2 drinks each, which is all you need. Besides the drink and the views, we wanted to give this cheeseburger a try. So, the wife ordered her cheeseburger because she wanted to eat it there, I wanted mine to go because I wanted to focus on the drink The wife said the burger was perfectly cooked and the fries were fully nicely cooked. So, when her burger hit the bar, I placed my order with Madison to go, so that when I my wife finished eating, mine should be ready to go. Well, I did notice that Madison didn't seem to put the order in right at that moment, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she seemed to put something about 5 minutes later, but it was for drinks and not my order. So, when we were ready to get our bill and leave, I mentioned that I should have a to go order but it's still not here yet and THAT'S when I saw Madison scrambling to finally put that to go order in and that meant that we had to wait even longer for my order. Shortly after that I overheard Madison tell Tori that she f*#&%d up and didn't put my order in earlier like she should have and Tori said don't worry about that we probably forgot about it or didn't care, so when I heard that, I was furious. I did bring it to Tori's attention that I did hear the conversation between her and Madison and didn't appreciate the comment and that was unacceptable. I was then offered a complimentary drink for our troubles, but I declined. Over all, we had a great time, the drinks were good and the burger and fries were spot on. The reason for the 1 star is because Madison forgot to put my order in and Tori's comment. read more

Refinery 714 is a hotel bar, above street-level, that offers a solid vibe and an attentive bartender. (I specify the location because it was a bit hard for us to find after dark) We, a small group, stopped in on a weeknight for a nightcap and found the chill vibe to be exactly what we were looking for. We ordered directly from the bar and the bartender, although serving a few other people at the time, knocked out or order very quickly. And she made a solid old fashion to boot! What I really liked about this spot were two things: the variety of places to sit (with varied seating types) and the history on display related to the building itself. Not only can you kill brain cells but you can build them too! Given the time of day... night... we didn't stay too long but we all had a good time. What a treat, this bar! It's on top of the Kimpton Hotel that has an easy to find valet. We came to Refinery 714 for before dinner drinks. It was perfect! We had to try some fries too; wowza, we almost ate the entire massive plate of them. I LOVED the Tipsy Tori; I'll be back for that girl. Yum! Cozy hotel bar, has an almost library feel, but depending on the crowd it can get a tad bit louder than your local library ;) There were two bartenders on staff, and they kept patrons moving in a pretty quick fashion. Seating included couches, tables (high and low tops), and lounge furniture - however if you're not there at a decent time you may run the risk of not having any seating. Met up with my wife downtown before a show at Bass Hall. Food was good (small happy hour menu), atmosphere is super chill, and the view is great. Bartender was awesome - forget her name. It's in a very beautiful setting and I think I would come here with a friend for a drink or two, but that's it. I ordered the "spicy" chicken sliders and a coke for $20. The food came out in a timely manner and the bartender was kind. But when I got to my room I was severely underwhelmed. The chicken sliders were not spicy at all and the ranch tasted off.
