My absolute favorite sunday-morning-danced all night-hangover cure! Really cute neighborhood mom and pop shop. It's in the Safeway parking lot, so you can get your grocery shopping done, too. Can get my fill for $5 (minimum purchase on a card is $5, so bring cash if you're just getting a coffee). The lattes are great and they have a decent bagel and cream cheese selection. I've eaten here for breakfast, and it's a cute little place. They have a variety of bagels, croissants and turnovers for the morning and lunch time. The bagels are made from scratch by the husband/wife probably the best made bagel in the Bay Area. The bagels are toasted to a golden brown on the outside, so it's slightly crusty and then inside is pure bagel heaven... not mushy or creamy, but bread made perfect. If you are a fan of lox and freshly made bagels this o place is truly heaven! Forget New York, you will never find a better lox and bagel sandwich. The bagels are made fresh every morning and the lox are like butter. This place is on the way to work, and it's convenient for me if I want to pick up a cup of coffee or a quick breakfast. Otherwise, I'd rather go to my regular bagel shop. Their bagels are so-so. If you like eating thick crackers with a spread of cream cheese, then ask for your bagel to be toasted. And even when they're not toasted, the bottoms of the bagels are sometimes burnt. The owners are sweet and genuinely friendly at Regal Bagel. It's a husband and wife team who split up responsibilities of handling orders. While the system works for them, it can sometimes affect you if you are in a rush (one will make coffee drinks while the other will make the bagel sandwiches). The coffee is consistenly good. I like how they refrigerate the milk and cream and take it out when customers ask, so you know it hasn't been sitting out for long. The sandwiches are made to order and you can request substitutions, which are always accepted. read more

Regal Bagel was one of my favorite places to go when I lived in Mountain View. Not only was it right down the street, but the owners are amazingly nice, and always remembered my "usual order." I was spoiled while living in NY, so I have an admitted bagel bias -- while these don't match up (I have yet to find any that do, though), they're better than a lot of other bagel places which pass off dry rolls with holes in the middle as bagels. Regal Bagel serves up puffy bagels with chewy insides, and they even have hummus (vegan bonus points!). read more

I can walk to this little bagel place from my house. The guy-half of the owners is super friendly. He's always smiling and I can tell he tries to remember his regulars. I'd say the service here is pretty darn good (the Bay Area friendliness is more like a big city friendliness...and these people are sweet). And the bagels are yummy! So much chewier than the bread-like bagels you can get from Safeway next door. I'm not sure why there are bad reviews because this place is a little jem on our weekend mornings. We've been there many times. Nothing special on the inside, but just what you need to satisfy your bagel urges. read more

A family-owned bagel shop that makes everything fresh! I love love love their different cream cheeses. So many options but the strawberry and honey walnut ones are amaaaaazing! And they have very unique bagels (spinach, strawberry, etc.). We came around noon and I got the last strawberry bagel so come early if you don't want them to run out! Regal Bagel has good bagels and bagel sandwiches. I particularly like both the hot ham and cheese and the more breakfast-like eggs, ham, and cheese bagel sandwiches. The owners are quite friendly and remember my regular orders, even when I haven't been around in a while. They seem to understand their purchase patterns so they don't generally have lots of leftover bagels. Be sure to get there earlier in the day if you want a particular style of bagel. West coast bagels are definitely sub par compared to what you get on east coast. I got a bagel sandwich here( turkey deluxe club in jalapeño bagel), sandwich was fine with enough ingredients to make me full. However, since this is a bagel cafe, I wanna throw my two cents on their bagels. The size is tiny compared to all the bagels I've ever had, jalapeño flavor or jalapeño doesn't exist in the bagel, period. Maybe I was expecting some kick in the bagel but none at all. Bagel is overly toasted and a little bit hard to chew. I like bagel with right amount of chewiness, not too hard yet not bread soft. Not overly enthusiastic about this place. Walked in at 6:30 am & people were already coming in to buy bagels. I ended up getting the sourdough toasted with cream cheese, omg the bagel was soft even though it was toasted and the owner slathered on a good helping of cream cheese, Biting into the bagel I could def tell they were fresh. I have patronized this business since it opened 15 years ago or so. I live in the neighborhood and I like to give local businesses a chance. The couple that owns the shop are the sweetest folks. Like other Yelpers have mentioned, they know you by name and will ask if you want your regular order. I have never been disappointed with the food and I love their chinese chicken salad...yum. My husband and I like their bagels a lot too because they are not overly heavy or bready. I guess it depends on ones personal preference. I do not want or need a huge bready bagel. Based on my one and only visit so far, the location is convenient, but the cafe itself could use a little updating. Their egg, bacon, & monterey jack cheese on a garlic bagel was delicious, either that or I was just really hungry. But still, it hit the spot. Their everything bagel with plain cream cheese was okay. We ended up changing our order last minute after the owner/cashier charged us, since we couldn't find the breakfast sandwiches on the menu, they happened to be near the cash register instead. He was extremely nice and patient with us, all smiles. The wait wasn't too bad, maybe 5 mins at the most. I'll definitely go back based on the excellent customer service and the breakfast sandwich alone. read more

There aren't many alternatives in this area for a good place to eat for lunch. I've tried Safeway, Big Bites and Taco Bell which are all good. Then I discovered the Regal Bagel in the Safeway shopping center and it gives me a great alternative for healthy eating. The owners are super nice and the bagel sandwiches are fresh and very good. On the first visit I actually thought this was named the Regal Beagle. Any die hard Three's Company fan would be joyous to find that local hangout in their neighborhood. Upon entering I realized this was a Bagel joint. But i've actually found myself returning over and over again. Always good service, prompt and pleasant owners. They do remember what you like. I'm not one to hang out at the Regal Bagel like some of the regulars, but it's always a pleasant way to start a morning. The Peerless Coffee they brew is also great! read more

Just started working in Mountain View, so still feeling my way around the place. The first week I stopped at the Starbucks in the same shopping center, but they don't have hot food and their coffees are...well, Starbucks. I decided to try Regal Bagel next door. I stopped in this morning and was very pleasantly surprised. The husband and wife were very nice and friendly, the triple mocha was good (I'm going to experiment with some flavors next time), and the egg, sausage, and cheese bagel sandwich on jalapeno was delicious. The bagel sandwich was especially delicious, as it wasn't greasy, wasn't messy, and was hot and delicious on a cold day. Took about 5 minutes from order to get the food, and about $8. A perfect breakfast on the run - I will definitely make this a common stop. read more

Most coffee is to strong(and hot) for my tastes, so I like to get an extra empty cup which is sometimes charged for. After filling only one cup w/coffee and mixing in a little cream and sugar, I will then pour half of the contents into the other cup and have the barista add a scoop of ice into each cup. This way the coffee is both cooled and thinned out a little to my liking. This is a bit odd, but has never been a problem in any other cofee shop I have been to. In this case, I paid extra for the additional cup, but only got grief when it came time to add the ice. I kept getting accused of "getting two cup" for the price of one. Even after trying to explain that I only filled one cup with coffee, the tightwads still were yelling at me saying "it still two cup, we no give that cheap!!" Ended up paying for the "extra coffee" which I did not drink just to get them off my back. Last money I will spend there. Sounds like they are tight with the cream cheese as well!! read more

I come here every morning when I am in mv. The service is friendly. The place is clean. There is a good variety of bagels. The poppy seed, sesame, and whole wheat are all good. The bagels are chewy, as they are supposed to be. I order plain bagels only. I highly recommend this place. read more

Best bagels around. Only two people seem to work here so I can see it being slow on occasion. They are very friendly and nice the guy is always making jokes. I always get the veggie and cheese bagel its the cheapest veggie sandwich bagel I've had (3.75 most places i pay around 6) and its just amazing. I live nearby but this is my first time to visit this place. The owner told me that they have been here 15 years. I wish I had found them out sooner. The bagel is really great. I had a BLT on a plain bagel, and it was toasted to perfection, hot and crunchy outside soft inside, and very tasty. My husband had a pastrami sandwich on onion bagel and he loved it. I stopped by here this morning to get a ham and cheese croissant before work because I was looking at the hill reviews and everybody said they were really good that this place has really good bagels really good breakfast so I'm one of the pictures that they had ham and cheese croissants so I going to order one well apparently she wants to charge for a ham and cheese croissant as a bacon and cheese on a bagel but to get a croissant cost a dollar more so it's going to be seven dollars almost for a ham and cheese croissant literally the line below the sandwich she's trying to charge me for is an egg ham and cheese croissant for 550 but now you want to charge me a dollar more to take the egg off of it why are you charging me 650 for a ham and cheese croissant it literally made zero sense so annoyed she was so rude insisted on charging me almost 7 dollars for a ham and cheese croissant I asked her how that made sense when she has a ham and cheese and egg croissant listed for 550 and I want to take something off of it as you tell me that's just how it is that's just how it is that's fine but you're rude and you're literally ripping a customer off right in front of them you're asking a customer to be OK with overcharging them right in front of their face read more
