This cinema might be my least favorite out of all of the local movie houses. 1. The patrons here seem to be the worst sort of high school crowd mixed with the hippopotamus behind me that was gorging on a vat of popcorn so loudly I had to turn around and ask her to stop. Seriously if parents try and bring an infant to the movies, send them home. The whole experience was awful. 2. The ticket que is outside. Good planning...not. 3. Their is a line to wait in between buying your ticket... OUTSIDE... and actually going into the cinema. What a joke Moral of the story here is go to the dine in cinema in Edison at the mall, or one of the other ones on route 1. This place is a bummer. read more

Great location and I've been going to this place for years. Always have a good experience. It's pretty well maintained. The variety of snacks and drinks option. It's crowded on weekends and at peak times like summer and holidays. Parking is huge. They have recliner Seating in the theatres is comfy and clean. The staff, including security and management, is always available and ready to assist with any issues, questions or requests you may have. Some screens are smaller than others. But it's cozy and homey feeling with great sounds. Bathrooms are always clean and lobby is very clean as well. Regal offers various discount to loyal customer which is great as well and this location take movie pass. read more

I used to not like this place that much because it severely went down hill since I used to go when I was young. This theater has rebounded, however and they have made strides to improve both the cleanliness and the service at the theater. I remember when this theater was one of the worst places around they always had stuff on the floors and the seats were downright uncomfortable. The service was OK but there was a lot to be desired as well. Perhaps, the worst part about the tester was the fact that it never decided to move into the modern era and was stuck in the early 90's with an arcade that did nothing and a design that was reminiscent of old school Taco Bell. I am happy to say that this place has rebounded nicely and has jumped on the reclining seat bandwagon. Now the seats are not as nice as the big recliners at AMC but they're good for watching a movie without breaking the bank. The food has gotten better, but it is still overpriced as all movie theater food is. I'd recommend eating before you go because you will easily double or triple the cost of going to the movies just by eating food. In all I would highly recommend checking this place out if you want to go to the movies and be comfortable doing so. The strides they have made to get better are noticeable yet there are never that many people there. If you want to see a movie and not have to deal with the crowds this is a good place to go, just don't spend lots of money on the food. read more

This location is often dirty 1 The cashier gave me the wrong candy , then attempted to an exchange making me late for my movie . The manager even told the over achiever there was no price difference . Then to make matters worse , low budget security Sam & Robert told me to empty my bag before entering the theater . I just spent 40$ on snacks & here with my 2 daughters to see a kid movie . I told them I'm late to the movie ! I bought so much snack I don't need to smuggle any in ! My friend and I really wanted to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, so we took a drive to South Plainfield (when staying in Bridgewater) to catch this flick at Regal Cinema. $8.50 for a matinee seemed a bit steep, but the real kicker was $6 for a small popcorn. The theatre itself was quite nice with stadium seating, though most of the seats were on the right or the left of the screen, not offering a true center view. Also, after the pre-coming attractions entertainment ended, the screen narrowed into a more widescreen view. This cut off some of the vital captions/text that appeared on the screen throughout the movie, which was irritating. It's a nice enough place to catch a movie, and the prices are high everywhere; I just wish they hadn't diminished the screen size. When parking, if you drive through the shopping center, you'll actually be behind the movies. Keep going around for more parking closer to the entrance. read more

This is your typical movie theater located in South Plainfield New Jersey. They offer a decent number of American movies and also a few Indian movies for the demographic population. Movie ticket prices are just the same as any other place and concession stand prices are pretty much up to par as well. This place has a lot of young kids who work there so you tend to notice some of the childish things that go on. I walked into the main foyer wants to watch a movie and the people working behind the concession stand we're all just hanging out and talking with a large group of people who seem to be their friends. They were not filling any orders they were all just standing around talking and laughing so I did not even bother purchasing any snacks. The movie theaters themselves have been upgraded to more modern times and have the big comfortable automated chairs with the leg rest. For some reason the floors are always sticky and the bathrooms are always a mess. Not to sound rude but maybe if they hired someone a little older to manage the younger staff this place would be a lot cleaner and the floors would not be sticky and I absolutely hate the feeling of walking on that. read more

I had a spend a weekend in NJ for a wedding and to make the time go by faster, chose to catch the new MI movie here... WORST DECISION EVER... the show being the first show in early am on a sat., the theater was dirty with a couple of seats being quite uncomfortable as they were not in the best condition. After shifting 2-3x, we gave up and just watched the movie and hoped to get out. The pop corn was not fresh and regretted watching a great movie here... More expensive than AMC theaters and my recliner was wobbly. Don't bother with the popcorn. Half the bag of kernels were nothing but popcorn crumbs that couldn't be picked up. I told this to the counter person on the way out and without making eye contact with me replied. "Sorry about that" then turned away. Also we were in theater #6 and there is a problem with the screen. A small patch of it is damaged and throughout the movie it would turn white. Very distracting. Not going back. read more

Regal is great if you're looking for a moderately priced movie night. The seats are comfy, the popcorn and movie fare are decent, and the sound quality is pretty good as well. My only complaint is that i wish they could do more to either remove, or have guests excused for the rowdy antics displayed by their children. Typically people spend more money to visit Dine in theaters to be around a more mature crowd, and not because the overall experience is "unmatched" . *A WORD TO THE WISE*- IF you are ever in a theater, and there's a group of "family Friends" who are accompanied by rude and obnoxious children that prevent you from enjoying the movie, don't hesitate to complain ASAP so they can be asked to leave. There was a group in my 9pm showing of "Avengers" infinity War on 4/26, that allowed there 2 kids under the age of 3 to cry throughout the first 30 mins of the movie, and allowed several of their sons to jump up and down the steps, and make so much noise that the entire audience was yelling "Shhhhhh", and asking them to leave (rightfully so i may add). This went on for at least a hr & 1/2 before the family finally left . Then, if that wasn't bad enough, 1 of the fathers had the NERVE to shout-out profanities& derogatory terms, & also threatened to beat up a guy in my row just because he said what EVERYONE ELSE WAS THINKING, which was "LEAVE!". Later on, the same Jerk-off had the nerve to go outside and call the cops, after he was the one engaging in disorderly conduct. This caused an even bigger spectacle further ruining the movie. Apparently this same group does this often, as i heard people stating this on the way out of the theater. LISTEN UP ALL: There's a group of 2-3 families, that bring a combination of 7 kids, all under the age of 8, to the movies, and they allow the kids to scream, cry, and run amok (In hopes of getting a reaction from the crowd), and then they accuse the theater goers of "harassing their children" so they can apparently get freebies. No one in my theater wanted to miss the movie, so we didn't complain until afterwards which is how we learned of this families game. If this family is in your theater (AND TRUST ME YOU WILL KNOW) , complain to management immediately so they can't keep running this scam. We shouldn't have to feel like we have to drive 2 -3 towns over to see a movie because this group thinks this type of behavior is acceptable. read more

First and formost : This place is one of the most expensive tickets in the area for what they are offering ( no dine . The concession stand also is overpriced being a small soda being more than a big popcorn at menlo parks AMC theaters. The theater + atmosphere tho is just average at best . No fancy screens , basic sourround , and stadium seating. There is really nothing that is worth the price at this theater. read more

This place is generally all-around annoying. Ticket windows out front always closed, with a sign directing you to buy tix at concession stand. Which means there is essentially one line to buy tickets. A/C consistently too cold, and biggest complaint is that they search your bag when you go through to your seat. For security? No. Safety? No. So they could bust you for bringing in any outside food. Are you freaking kidding me? I spent $40 something on tix, and $17.25 for candy and soda. But yes, I "smuggled" in a bag of Smart Food popcorn for my sons because I don't want their $6 overpriced pre made popcorn. Can Regal actually claim my family of 4 ripped them off? I've been going to this Regal Cinemas since I was 13 yrs old (currently 24) and I'd have to say, I'm digging the new remodeling of the theaters. The new recliner seats were very comfortable to sit in and I'm 6'2 tall. The theaters were very clean and didn't have a musty smell. Besides the dine-in theater in Menlo Park, NJ, this Regal Cinema is the next best theater in the area. Two tickets for my girl and I was only $24. read more

Great mid size theatre with the ticket booth outside (or you can purchase online prior to arriving -- $1.50 processing fee). There is a fun candy dispenser toward the screening rooms. Awesome full reclining plush seats. Very comfy and spacious for people walking in front of you. There's no need to move your legs. Parking lot fills up but there is plenty of room to the side. read more

It's kind of weird that you have to order your tickets from the concession stand but this is a good theater to go to on opening days for popular movies because you will never get sold out here. The theater isn't all that nice looking but it's close by and cheaper than the Menlo Dine In theaters. Well the movie was good, but the Customer service at the theater was horrible. I had over 19000 points and was eligible for a free ticket. The app was not working properly, but I was logged in and the manager could see my point accumulation. Instead of just honoring it, he tells me to call the 800 number which was basically an answering service (it was 7pm). The only reason I went to Regal was because I'd joined the loyalty program and accumulated points. Welp, I'm done with them - sticking with AMC! Is it too much to expect that a movie theater be air conditioned when it's 88 degrees outside? My, now adult daughter treated me to the movies because when she was a child, we would watch The Incredibles over and over. We took our seats and waited for the movie and ac to start. The movie was fun, but no AC. I didn't want to leave because my daughter was only in town for a limited time. The heat was awful. I was so hot that I was sticking to the seat. I have been coming to this theatre for over 11 years. Their recent upgrade to stadium seating with reclining seats and oversized cup holders is outstanding and makes me want to come back regardless of which movie is playing. We also got dinner for the family from the concession stand (cheeseburger and fries, chicken fingers, pizza) and it was surprisingly good. I am enraged!!!! My friends and I got kicked out of a rated R movie because we didn't go in with an adult even though the adult bought our tickets. The adult was clearly consenting to us watching the movie because she bought the tickets so why can't we see the movie. We are teenagers by the way, we aren't 10 year olds trying to sneak into a rated R film. Plus the movie was the horror movie it, so it's not like we were trying to see fifty shades of gray. They also would not refund our money and they said we can use the money to see another film but all the other films were rated R as well, so no we couldn't. Also why on earth can't four teenagers get into a horror film but an adult and their five year old could walk in at anytime. read more

This regal is outdated and too small. Their ticket booth is directly on the sidewalk/curb, so on really cold winter days, they have to move their ticket booth to the concession area. Logistically, it just doesn't make sense to have it this way. And the theater that I went to had a max of 30 seats and small screen. This Regal is one of my regular movie theaters that I go to. Extremely clean and the employees are very nice and helpful. The seats are super comfortable too. The only complaint I have is that some of the inside theaters can be a little small and cramped and there have been a few times I have been there to see a movie and something weird has happened to the screen. For example a few months ago I was with my friend watching a movie and we were informed we would be delayed by about 30 minutes because of issues with the screen. No problem for us we just went to Target and waited it out. But when we got into the movie it stopped twice while we were watching it. My friend and I are both very patient and chill and we had nothing else to do that day but there were families with kids there, I can imagine how frustrating it would be to deal with that. The manager was very nice but I kind of feel like for the trouble we should have been offered SOMETHING, maybe a free snack or half off a new movie? read more

Well, I went to go watch a movie with a friend. Tickets were reasonably priced but they could work better with fandango to make sure seat reservations work out well with the theater itself. For example, I ordered tickets for seats h7 and h8; however, the rows ended at F so my seats didn't exist. Regardless, this wasn't my issue. My issue came when my phone slipped out of my pocket and I only realized once I was outside in my car. I can understand employees not feeling comfortable allowing people back in however there was no reason for this certain employee to come off so rudely. He could have walked to the auditorium with me if he wanted to. Instead he radioed in asking if a phone was found and only after admitting someone into the theater did he again rudely allow me to go fetch my phone. I said it was ridiculous that I had to go fetch my phone after so much time when I could have just done so right off the bat and he laughed. Once he saw me with my phone he asked if I had found it and then laughed when I showed him. Absolutely amazed by the fact that they have someone so inept and immature working here. In case you cared, he was the guy working at around 7:45ish. He had braces and was scanning people in. This took place on June 6th. read more

This usually isn't my go-to movie theater, but it's one I tend to default to when others in the area are too packed or too much a hassle to get to (especially with larger groups). The theaters are quite small and the seats aren't particularly comfortable (not to mention they are somewhat off-center, the way the rooms are laid out). Given the smaller capacity the rooms have, you might need to grab your tickets a little further in advance on busy nights/weekends for big opening movies. The bathrooms are well-kept, though, and the snack bar offers a good variety. For the price, I recommend going to the Regal in North Brunswick or the Loews in New Brunswick instead, even if they are a little further from the area (more worth the cost, in my opinion). read more

Going to see a movie isn't something that my friends and I plan far in advance because of everyone's changing or uncertain schedules. Today I managed to get together with friends and we decided to check out the new TMNT and when we got to the theater we were asked to pick our seats off of a screen at the box office. We were told we either had to sit in different rows, and be apart from each other OR sit in the second row and spend the next two hours with our heads tilted back to watch the screen. Needless to say, we won't be coming back to this theater. It's ridiculous crap like "assigned seating" that promotes piracy and is going to kill the theater industry. I don't want to hear stupid comments like "Well that's the way things are headed, every theater will be doing that soon" because if that's truly the way things are headed, I just won't go to the theater at all. I have a 70" UHD TV, I'll wait the two to three months for the movie to hit Blu-ray, buy it, watch it at home, and not only will I then own the movie, I'll be paying significantly less than I would for several tickets and without the game of assigned seats. read more

We live in a time where common sense and chivalry is dead and apathy prevails. Yesterday, I went to the Hadley Movie theater, South Plainfield, New Jersey to see "Girls trip" showing 12:30p.m., after spending a whole week nursing a fracture toe. I arrived around 12:05 and requested a handicap seat. I was told that only people with wheelchair were allowed in the handicap seats. But I am handicap, may I speak to the manager. The manager replied with in a cold and an altitude of indifference; "you can only get a seat at 12:30 when the show starts." So I waited for almost 20 minutes and then I asked the ticket person do I need to show proof of handicap permit. She said yes. So I limped back to my car and got my handicap permit. I gave the ticket person my handicap card, my driver's license, credit card and of course my Regal crown club card. I got the C 7 seat handicap seat. So, what is the point? First question, what constitutes a handicap person? Is a person who is challenged either physically or mentally to perform normal daily functions. By what right does Hadley movie have to discriminate against a handicap person who does not have a wheelchair? People who are wheelchair bound would never place its self on these seats because in the event of a fire there is no way they came quickly jump onto the wheelchair. This discrimination of only wheelchair is contrariety situation. Also, there is definitely a pattern of apathy at Hadley movies. Right before I finally got my ticket three ladies got the only seats available in Row A close to the screen that required walking down dark steps. I approached one of the ladies to join me by my seat. Why? She had a cane and by walking down these dark steps she could have fallen and next week she will be 81. You would think that a Hadley movie manager would suggest handicap seat for this lady with the cane. The Hadley Movies are heading towards serious a litigation if they continues with these egregious practice of apathy towards the handicap and senior citizens. read more
