They're very meticulous and spend quite a bit of time.

They have decent prices for that- $35 for basic pedicure and $20 for basic manicure. You still get the massage chair, the lotions, the leg and hand massage and the same care as if you were getting a more spendy option. I was impressed. No cut up cuticles, no pain, friendly staff and I literally walked in and walked out in 45 mins (my son was waiting with me so I actually didn't have an extreme amount of time). They did both hands and feet at the same time which is totally fine with me. Overall, I'd come here again and I might make this a more regular thing.

Exactly a week later 6 nails had popped off. 7 days later 1 more nail popped off. When the nails popped off, I was not doing anything where they should have came off. Baffled. EDIT TO ADD: Not even a week had passed, & two nails have popped off. One was while I was making a bed, & the other, I woke up & the nail was gone..... Easily the worst set of nails I have ever paid for. What a waste of $350 + $30 for tip. I have been here a handful of times now, & each time service gets worse. I don't live in Anchorage anymore, so only stop here due to convenience when I am in town, considering it's right now the road. We booked an appointment for 3 of us, a week in advance. We got there, they started two of us, & I sat in the chair for 30 minutes before they started on my feet, by this time the other two I was with were almost done. One of my biggest peeves is, when they start your manicure while they are doing your pedicure, so you're stretched. Part of the reason I get my toes does is for the relaxation. I had cut my finger nails & toe nails before I left because I like my nails square cut. Both ladies cut my nails again, making them so short that it hurt. The next three days my nails from my feet/hands are sore. Other two people are sore too. When I got home I noticed I had chunks of skin taken out, on my fingers & toes. The lady doing my fingers cut my cuticle with the drill, did not clean the drill, & spooned some stuff on it, not washing anything she touched my open wound with. & the shape of the nails is awful. They are all shaped so different. The paint job is just as bad, & you can see through to the other side of the nails when I'm outside. She did not get the acrylic even close on my thumb, so it looks like I have a week of growth. To say the least, I will no longer go to them for the convenience. We paid $350 for all of us, that's three pedicures, & one manicure. At the end, I didn't even want to correct the lady, as I had sat there from 1pm-4pm. Nails should not take that long. So now I'm stuck with these awful nails. Crazy how much we spend for what we got.

The teamwork was prompt, very friendly, and made the visit smooth from start to finish (mani/pedi). My manicure is beautiful and my cuticles are super clean--definitely shows their attention to detail. The nail quality overall was excellent--clean, precise, and exactly what I was hoping for. The massage portion could've been a little deeper, but that was on me for not speaking up at the time. Just something to keep in mind if you prefer a firmer touch. Overall, a solid spot for good quality nail care, and I'd definitely come back!

In short, the front desk was disorganized and it seems pricing was a little out of control and underhanded. The place was bustling and I hope the workers are getting breaks and a good commission. The front desk was very disorganized despite me having an appointment and kept telling me they were getting me in right away despite me making it clear I didn't mind waiting at all and I just requested to sit outside in the sun and gave them my number to call me when they're ACTUALLY ready for me instead of having me wait for 30+ minutes. Once I started having my nails done, I was told that I had to do a builder gel because my nails were too bendy, and I explained I wouldn't blame the technician at all if the results were compromised because of my bendy nails, and she insisted that she kind of had to do a builder gel. I was fine with that because she's the professional and I trust her :) despite not doing my research on builder gel beforehand and not expecting to pay the price increase coming into my appointment. Once I agreed on pricing and service choices, she told me she was giving me a good deal because she wasn't charging me for cutting my cuticles and filing the edges, and she would usually have to. Since when did salons start charging EXTRA for inherent parts of manicures? More so in bad taste of ownership. I didn't ask for reshaping of my nails, they didn't need to be cut (I wanted to keep my length), I just wanted a french tip and it was presented to me as if she was doing me a favor for doing parts of a manicure that are inherent parts of manicuring. Once she did the builder gel my nails were burning badly and I didn't complain once but she noticed I was having a hard time when my nails were in the UV lamp, and let me know it hurts everyone and I assumed it was my fault for having thinner nails at the time of the service but it would've been nice to know I could expect above average burning for a service I didn't ask for. Ive used the UV lights many times getting manicures sporadically over the course of the last 10 years but this was a new level of burn. I don't blame her at all, just think it was something to warn about since all the technicians seem to know what builder gel feels like to get done. Jennyfer was outstanding and I'm sure following the standard of nail salons nowadays: upsell, charge as much additionally as you can since clients will do it as they're already at their appointment and probably won't just get up and leave if they don't want to pay for out of the norm, unexpected add-ons presented as necessity. I understand that in Alaska, nail techs can charge whatever because the lack of competition and I know service prices are getting spendy everywhere, but I was yet again unimpressed by the seemingly sly way these salons are upselling during the service (industry standard it seems). Jennyfer did make my nails beautiful though and I'll now have to come back to pay for a fill or remove the gel which isn't something I was looking to do, but appreciated her artistry. I've never left such a long review before so I hope management will take this review in stride and as constructive and not get defensive with me in response

They don't take walk ins so you will have to call & make an appointment. My nails are not even that impressive. But anyhow, my friend wanted me to go with her so I said "sure!, what the heck". I'll point out that for some reason I was not able to check into this nail salon and although I was inside the salon it said I was too far away to check in. I tried checking in from the parking lot to see if that would work and I just had no luck with that either. The salon itself was a decent size and lots of tables and stations for a pedicure. It is very neat and the staff is friendly. My friend and I went in as walk-ins and were pleased that we were able to be attended almost immediately. I went for a manicure. One thing I really liked is that the tables are side by side so it made talking with my friend a lot easier and we were both able to get our nails done at the same time. There were TV's playing "Vampire Diaries" so I guess you can be amused if you like that show :-) I chose to get Shellac polish which is like getting gel nails except as a manicure and supposedly this particular polish stays on longer than regular nail polish. The downside I see to this is that you have to stick your hands in a UV ray machine so that it can settle and dry. I would rate this 3 and a half stars if I could. Honestly the lack of stars is mostly due to the price. Overall this cost me $35 before tip and I while I liked the color and overall experience, it looked like something I could do myself, at home. In the lower 48 I've seen Shellac for $25 and with much neater results. I'll still return to this place and maybe try something different next time. In the mean time, this is 3 1/2 stars mostly due to quality and price.
