Now under new ownership, Maggie does an amazing job. I have been going to her for years. Never disappointed thank you Maggie

Amy's nails has new owners if you didn't already know. I had thought I already did a review so here we go. Maggie, Tran & crew do amazing work. Always up with nail trends & there pedicures are awesome. I really like a good foot massage since I'm on my feet all day. I would for sure get one every day if I could. The shop decor has been update & looks fresh & new. They have also updated there pedi chairs. They have a huge selection of colors for your nails & always trendy nail ideas. I suggest making an appointment since they are so busy. Good for groups if you plan ahead. I have been a long time customer of Maggie & always have excellent customer service, my nails always turn out looking fresh. I get so many compliments after each visit.

She cut my toe and it kept bleeding for a while this is after it stopped

Got a gift card for this place was super happy when I left the salon...until they started peeling within 4 days of me getting a gel manicure. And I can usually get at least 2 weeks out of mine if not longer. I still had the rest of my gift card to use so I went back and got a pedicure..less then 5 minutes in and she cut my big toe she was really rushing my pedicure, like already started putting on lotion while my nails were still curing. I will give them the the message on my feet did feel pretty good but not worth every ting else.don't come here, and don't buy anyone a gift card for this place either

Beware of nail fungus. Switched over to amy's nails off of a recommendation from a friend. But after seeing my sister (who does nails here and there) she noticed a fungus underneath the gel on my pinky finger. Attached is a picture. I would not recommend going here if this is the quality you receive.

Love Maggie's work! Gel manicure on natural nails.

Under new ownership!! So happy to once again experience Maggie's great work and creativity. She is so focused on quality customer service and ensuring you have a great time in her shop. I don't have a creative bone in my body, so it's nice to give her a color scheme and general idea of what I want and Maggie makes it happen. Will definitely be returning!!

I've been getting a recommendation to go here for a very long time, and I finally tried it out and was not disappointed. I've been getting my nails done since I was 14 and I can honestly say these are by far the best nails I've ever gotten. They take their time and don't charge you an arm and a leg.

Extremely frustrated with this place. I went here with my boyfriend because it's in the neighborhood and thought It would be fun to check out and work on his nasty feet. ;) The people did not really engage and I decided to get French tips and the WORST French tips I have ever gotten. They are uneven, and not even all the way colored in. Before I had a chance to ask her to fix it she turned off all the lights and equipment and told me I was done. Do not recommend.

I arrived about 10 minutes before and was greeted and asked if I wanted tea, coffee, or water. Picked my color, sat in the chair, and started the pedicure. At first I thought the leg massage was a bit short but oh no, the leg massage came AFTER the polish was applied. The massage was likely the best I have ever received with a pedicure and doing it after gave the polish time to dry. What a great idea! (I've never had that happen before). Small family-run business with three pedicure and two manicure stations. Clean and bright, even on a dreary, rainy day. My salon at home advised me to stay away from salons that use the plastic bags so I was happy to see they were not used here. I didn't ask ahead of time what the price was and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was $40, less than I pay at home. There was no upsell pressure, just one of the best pedicures I've ever had! Easy five plus stars!

Pricing was affordable which makes me feel comfortable going more often as nail prices and everything has gone up tremendous! This is a smaller salon, I saw maybe 3/4 pedicure stations and 3/4 nail stations so I am not sure of how busy they get but I was thankful to be able to walk in that day!

He told me Tina at Elegant Nails on Muldoon designed them for him. Two days ago, I made an appointment with Tina & had her do a Shellac Manicure on my natural nails. I used to get gels else where, maybe once or twice a year. Gels are alright, but they often end up suffocating my nail bed. When I lived in Seattle, I had my nails done at Top Nail in Queen Anne. They had this shellac nail polish called Cat Eye Shellac. Ironically, I love all things cat eye, so this was a treat! I moved back to Anchorage at the end of August, so I had to find a nail salon that carried Cat Eye Shellac. Not only does Tina carry that line, she has many of the colors I love, and even a few new ones! Tina did an amazing job! I love the colors I ended up choosing. Being able to express myself really lifts my confidence, and Tina helped me with that. I will be back as a regular customer.

I also got the classic pedicure for $35 and I told the lady that was what I wanted when I sat down in the chair. So, $100 total. I put $15 down to secure my appointment on the app and they said that 15 will be deducted from my total. so $85 in total right? NOPE! I had to pay $97 at the register and it was only THEN that they told me that I need to pay for gel polish that the pedicure lady PUT ON ME WITHOUT ME KNOWING. Also during the Acrylic set the girl cut my finger and it stung when i went to go wash my hands so....

In short, the front desk was disorganized and it seems pricing was a little out of control and underhanded. The place was bustling and I hope the workers are getting breaks and a good commission. The front desk was very disorganized despite me having an appointment and kept telling me they were getting me in right away despite me making it clear I didn't mind waiting at all and I just requested to sit outside in the sun and gave them my number to call me when they're ACTUALLY ready for me instead of having me wait for 30+ minutes. Once I started having my nails done, I was told that I had to do a builder gel because my nails were too bendy, and I explained I wouldn't blame the technician at all if the results were compromised because of my bendy nails, and she insisted that she kind of had to do a builder gel. I was fine with that because she's the professional and I trust her :) despite not doing my research on builder gel beforehand and not expecting to pay the price increase coming into my appointment. Once I agreed on pricing and service choices, she told me she was giving me a good deal because she wasn't charging me for cutting my cuticles and filing the edges, and she would usually have to. Since when did salons start charging EXTRA for inherent parts of manicures? More so in bad taste of ownership. I didn't ask for reshaping of my nails, they didn't need to be cut (I wanted to keep my length), I just wanted a french tip and it was presented to me as if she was doing me a favor for doing parts of a manicure that are inherent parts of manicuring. Once she did the builder gel my nails were burning badly and I didn't complain once but she noticed I was having a hard time when my nails were in the UV lamp, and let me know it hurts everyone and I assumed it was my fault for having thinner nails at the time of the service but it would've been nice to know I could expect above average burning for a service I didn't ask for. Ive used the UV lights many times getting manicures sporadically over the course of the last 10 years but this was a new level of burn. I don't blame her at all, just think it was something to warn about since all the technicians seem to know what builder gel feels like to get done. Jennyfer was outstanding and I'm sure following the standard of nail salons nowadays: upsell, charge as much additionally as you can since clients will do it as they're already at their appointment and probably won't just get up and leave if they don't want to pay for out of the norm, unexpected add-ons presented as necessity. I understand that in Alaska, nail techs can charge whatever because the lack of competition and I know service prices are getting spendy everywhere, but I was yet again unimpressed by the seemingly sly way these salons are upselling during the service (industry standard it seems). Jennyfer did make my nails beautiful though and I'll now have to come back to pay for a fill or remove the gel which isn't something I was looking to do, but appreciated her artistry. I've never left such a long review before so I hope management will take this review in stride and as constructive and not get defensive with me in response
