This time I was extremely disappointed in the service. I went with my friend, the man who gave her a pedicure understood English, we both wanted the basic pedicure without gel polish. The lady I got ( I think she's the owner) never asked me what I wanted but I told her I DID NOT want gel polish. Halfway through the pedicure I realize she's doing way more to my feet than my friend. I told the lady I just wanted the basic pedicure No gel polish. In the end she still puts gel polish on my toes & charges me 25 extra. The entire time she was being really rough on my feet and one of my toes started bleeding. She completely ignored me. I paid $65 dollars for this pedicure, super unhappy. I know she understood that I wanted the basic pedicure with no polish. Then I left the tip part blank because I was frustrated but didn't want to make a scene. She pointed to it and asked me to tip her. So fine I tipped her $7. I will not be coming back here again. I didn't want to spend $73 on a pedicure that made me uncomfortable and bleed.

I recently had another amazing experience during a special mommy-daughter day, and it reminded me once again why I've continued to come back all these years. I was a walk in for a full set on Saturday at 1 pm. I realize that this is not an easy act to do…read more They did seat me within about 10 minutes MAX. This is why a one star feels accurate. I showed my tech a picture of what I wanted, she asked if I wanted dip or if it needed to be acrylic and told her that I didn't care how this design was done but I wanted it to look just like the inspo pic that was posted here. She said that's fine I can totally do that. She did the service and even corrected the nail that I saw was crooked so that it wouldn't be when she dipped it. She also cut off the acrylic a little long and I told her I wanted them shorter like the picture and she said she just was leaving room for filing. She was a great communicator. When she did the top coat she added a glitter top coat which was not pictured and I thought, "it's not the end of the world I'll just take it". Well we got to the check out and I looked at my nails and they are not what was pictured. I was pretty frustrated but left to go pick up my car for an oil change. I sent these pictures to my sister to see if I was being too high maintenance and she agreed that this was not done well even to the standards of the other pictures posted on the reviews. So I called the store and asked to speak to the manager (against every bone in my body) and politely asked if they could get me back in to just level out the dip and reapply the top coat and trim the side of my nails in a little bit. The store manager told me she would be happy to fix them at 5 pm when they had time. I asked if there was anyone else sooner as I live in Girdwood and made the trip today as a little treat but needed to get back home sooner. She said there was absolutely no time before 4 that she could get me in. So I agreed and called my fiance. I then called back to see if I could come show her that there was blood glued down to my nails, the unevenness and just get even a partial refund and she said she does not refund but is available at 5 pm to fix it for me. I am so disappointed in the response to fixing this. When I left the shop there were 4 techs sitting together hanging out, when I drove back by to get the images of the shop sign there were no cars in the parking lot. I will not be returning and I recommend either going to a different shop or being much more firm than I was when sitting in their chair. The job she did was $90 and I didn't even get the set that I wanted.

The husband, must be Tam, was the one who did my nails. At first, he was very nice and friendly and easy to talk to. But then, two women came in for mani-pedis and he started to rush my manicure (so he could start theirs). He stopped talking and didn't really pay much attention to my cuticles. I had to ask him to push them back, and then he didn't cut the excess, which I had to do myself when I got home. Now it looks like I already have a week of growth because he didn't paint my nails where the cuticles were (obviously, he couldn't, but he could have if he'd taken care of the cuticles properly). The polish itself is well done, no bubbles or lint. Although, there was some left on my skin that he didn't wipe off. The ladies who came in seemed like regulars, and I can understand wanting to take care of people who come in regularly. But it doesn't seem very smart to do it at the expense of other customers, even if they are using a groupon and the owner isn't getting paid much. I might have come back if he'd done a better job and if I felt like a valued customer. FYI, I didn't know what Shellac was at first, so I looked it up. Apparently, to remove it, you have to go back to the salon and they're supposed to use wraps to soak the polish off. Some salons just use cotton balls and foil. This salon uses cotton balls and foil (they were removing the other ladies' Shellac polish as I left).

Went in for a pedicure and a full gel set I waited for 30 minutes before anyone spoke to me the…read morebasic pedicure took 1 hr and 30minutes most of this time was me being left sitting because the phone rang or someone needing to pay then when someone came in wanting they're brows waxed I was left again but this time with hot towels on my legs which I'll admit felt good at first but by the time the nail tech came back to me the towels were ice cold and I was sitting there shivering moving forward to the full set I asked for gel she decided to do a dipping gel she said she wanted to do something different for me well the very next day as I am dusting my dashboard my nail breaks I didn't bang or bump it on anything I honestly didn't even notice right away so I rush in before work and she fixes it she first tried to use a plastic nail tip and when that didn't work she used the Dremel to get the broken nail off she filed it down so deep it was hot and sore and my cuticle is still swollen when I flinched from pain at one point she sighed and seemed annoyed with me moving forward the nail was fixed and I went to work as soon as I got there putting on my shoe the same nail broke again. I called and asked for a refund but she refused saying she would take them all off and do the regular gel (the one I originally asked for!) but Truthfully I am terrified to let them touch my nails again.

She's a great…read morenail tech Her place is inside Marie's Beauty Supply -- her room isn't completely separated from the store, you're able to hear customers and the music, but it wasn't incredibly distracting. I actually enjoyed hearing the music during my appointment :) Amber is a very detail oriented nail tech, she ensured that every step of the manicure was done well and continued to check and make sure I was comfortable. I was bouncing around ideas for her and she was open to all of them; even when I changed my mind about the nails I wanted, she was flexible and accommodated my new idea on the spot. I love how my nails turned out!! I want to add that since I changed my mind about the nail design a little bit into the process and Amber is a very thorough nail tech, the appointment was longer than expected. If you were planning on going to her I would make sure you have a set design in mind to make the process go quicker. But, take into account that the appointment may be longer than 2-3 hours, depending on the design. She also had offered to fix my nails when the gems came off!! Super kind and great experience overall.
