You have to select seats from a seating chart -- actually the app recommended seats for me but I opted to select other seats -- but that means nothing as much he show had open seating. Kind of negates the point of paying more to reserve seats. Then, once seated, we learned that they no longer show the video for the pre-show program, they only play the audio. Kind of ridiculous! The audio track keeps referencing what you're watching but no video was playing. This location could be great if the GM wasn't so stressed out. Theater 6 has a broken screen with a glare in the center of the screen. I first noticed it around Christmas time 2022 -- brought it to the managers attention who said they were aware of the problem but couldn't do anything about it, tickets were still full price for a broken screen. The theater itself is great, no need to pay for RPX. Why only 3 stars?? Well, I'm glad you asked (wondered). First, buying tickets is ridiculous. They never have enough people so you have to wait at least 15 minutes. Secondly, if you want to get some snacks, same deal. Be ready to wait a while as they usually only have 1 or 2 people behind the counter. Indoor ticket kiosks don't work. The bathrooms are clean, and that's always a good thing. So to sum it all up, eat before you come, you can tinkle here, and come at least an hour early if you plan on buying snacks. I had enough points saved for a free small popcorn. Because they "ran out" of the size small I had to get the next size up and pay the difference. How is it my fault that they ran out of a small popcorn?? It took 10 minutes for them to figure out that they only had the larger sizes. Also, this theater is fairly new. This place seems relatively newish, but already I feel like it needs a little bit of an overhaul. I'm taller than average, but can usually deal with sitting in a theater for 2ish hours. These leather (I think?) seats are rather uncomfortable, and you feel pretty claustrophobic if someone is sitting on either side, with little arm room between you and the person next to you. It feels like you're still sitting completely straight up, even though there is some reclining. Also several times, and I can't recall which of the theaters I had been in (maybe the same?), but the screen has some sort of glare, like a bright burst located in the vicinity of the middle of the screen that is distracting when trying to enjoy a movie. I make visits here due to convenience of location. Starting to reconsider visiting other options in the area. Have also experienced slow lines at concessions, and frazzled employees that may be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of customers waiting. My wife and wanted to go to the movies this past Saturday afternoon and instead of going to the Alamo in Loudon as usual we decided to try out the new theater here in Gainesville. We went to a 3:30 showing and the tickets were $12.50 each. Seriously, no matinee prices? $25 for a pair of tickets at 3:30 in the afternoon, what a joke. Oh, but we got a free small popcorn. Gee, thanks. At the concession stand we ended up with a medium popcorn ($1 upcharge from the free small), a medium soda (should have bought the small, the medium was huge) and a large bottle of water. As most of these theaters all the popcorn is pre-popped, sitting in bags under a heat lamp. Meh. $11.75 later (only because we saved $6.75 with the free small popcorn) we went to our theater. For 3:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday I would have the expected the carpets to be cleaner, it looked like they hadn't bothered to clean since the night before. The theater itself was fine, the seats were comfortable but then the previews fired up and the sound level about doubled from what it was with the ads. I'm pretty sure the Green Day concert I went to back in the 90's wasn't this loud. The volume persisted through the movie. The price alone is enough of a reason not to go back. I can drive 20 minutes to Loudon, pay $8 less for tickets and at least I can get real food, fresh popcorn (for $4 with unlimited refills!) and have a beer with a real meal and it's barely more expensive than this Regal. Oh, and at the Alamo there is no talking or texting and they'll throw you out if you do it. Anyway, we gave it a shot but we won't be back. read more

Great theater, clean and not too crowded. My suggestion to management is to re-calibrate the touchscreens on the self serve ticket terminals more frequently. We often have to press outside the buttons to figure out how to actually select the buttons on them. read more

Always a good time when we come to see a movie. The lines to get tickets/go to your screen is never long (concession lines are arguable). Pretty young and polite staff. I live just 2 miles away but when I go to the movies I go to Fairfax corner. Here's what I don't like here. 1 the prices are outrageous. They don't offer matinee prices and their prices are higher than other theaters. 2 the screens are high gain screens. This means they have a lot of crushed up glass coating the screen to give it more reflectivity. This makes the whites look blotchy. However their rpx theatre doesn't suffer from this problem. read more

The movie theatre itself is very nice and in a great location however .....the staff and customer service need a lot of improvement. The snack bar is routinely understaffed causing long lines and waits. The management, who is typically nearby, tries to help existing cashiers but rarely thinks to open a new line themselves to alleviate the problem! I know this is possible because I have seen it done at the Manassas theatre. Recommend to corporate to "coach up" your management or your clientele will find someplace to watch movies. read more

Yet another horrible experience. This time they changed theaters for my Avengers Endgame tickets, which I had purchased online 3 weeks before. Online I had reserved seats, but they changed them without notification. This invalidated my seats. What's more, there was no sign up saying this would occur. If I had known it was first come first serve, I would have been annoyed, but would have skipped the concession line and come back later. As I thought I had reserved seats, I stayed in the 40 min line (I got there 30 mins before the movie, 9:30 AM on a Sunday). So we were front row for a 3 hour movies. I enjoyed my first visit to the new Regal Cinema in Gainesville. I loved the layout and the service. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The woman in front of me had created an issue for herself, but the management was quick to deal with her issue in a commonsense manner -- keeping the wait in line short. Unlike other reviewers, I liked the popcorn very much. Not too much salt for me. My only real complaint was the idea of the RPX. I wasn't really impressed. I was expecting an IMAX type experience, but it wasn't even close. I think the website should clarify that this is a nicer sound system. Personally, I could have done without all the vibration. Overall this was a very nice experience. I think it's going to be very successful. read more
