Beverly Hill prices in Echo Park! Regency's prices are outrageous! My husband took three long sweaters to be cleaned and I was shocked to see the cost was $43.50! When I went to pick them up I asked why it was so expensive and was told the prices ranged from $12 to $16 per sweater. I asked her to give me the price for each sweater and she became nervous. Finally she said her boss took the order and she was just an employee. To make matters worse their card machine was out of order and they could only take cash. I only had $31 dollars and I needed one of the sweaters to wear to work. I asked could I pay for one of the sweaters and I'd pick up the remaining two after work. She didn't know how much to charge me for only one sweater! My clothes were being held hostage and I needed to get the office. While she stood there helplessly I asked if they took checks. This place is really good. I take my clothes here all the time now since they reopened last year. Recently brought in a white trench coat that had a really bad stain down the front. I thought that perhaps the coat was a lost cause but the woman assured me that they'd do the best they could to remove it. Not only was it removed but the entire coat came back sparkling white just as I had purchased it. I've also had alterations on a few dress suits and a couple of jeans and both times they did a good job. It's a little pricier than you find in other local places but I'm willing to pay the extra price since they've proven to do a quality job. So far so good! Just moved to this new cleaners and the people who work there are so nice. They talk to you like people as opposed to grumpy zombies who usually man cleaners. And the job they did is really impressive. They took great care to add padding for my silk blouses so they don't pull, my buttons were wrapped and everything was meticulously cleaned. Their prices aren't competitive by any means, but you're paying what is normal for dry cleaning and I would rather do that than pay a little less and risk damaging your clothes. I am so sad that I have to write this poor review of Regency and advise everyone to beware of this cleaner. I have been coming here for over 5 years and have brought all of my prized items here including my wedding dress which the owners meticulously restored. Today I went to pick up my silk Hermes jacket which I've had cleaned here before, only to find that it was ruined. I'm not sure what was done but it seems as if it was put through the wash rather than dry cleaned. The silk feels like crepe, the coat is faded, and the dye has run. When I pointed this out to Sophia who was waiting on me, both she and Jessica claimed the coat was fine. It had always been in this condition. I then showed them both a photo of the coat before their services and they said it looked exactly the same. I then grabbed the matching scarf from my car and they argued that the scarf was silk and the coat was not. At this point I went to show them the tag a found it had been cut out. I'll repeat that - someone cut the tag out in order to hide the maker and the content of the coat. They continued to argue that the coat was fine, it had nothing wrong and that they would keep the coat and send it to an institute to find out what happened to it because they had done nothing wrong. I asked for the owners information and they told me they don't know the owners which was a lie because Sophia told me the lovely owners were now taking care of family last week when I dropped off my cleaning. I have never been this upset in public in my life. I've never dealt with such dishonesty. I am waiting for the owners to contact me at this point. Had the workers at the business taken another approach I would not be posting this negative review. While my coat can not be saved the relation could have been. read more

So happy with this dry cleaner! I have gone to them several times with good results but waited until I had some serious work done to write my review. Everything I've taken here has come back looking great but I was very impressed on my recent visit when Regency worked miracles. They took my old silk kimono that was in bad shape and made it look like new. On this same visit, they also cleaned a vintage coat that had a bright print silk lining and a white exterior and made it look amazing. My expectations were exceeded. Prices are reasonable and turn around time was quick. They have a small parking lot that I've not had trouble finding a space in, as well as some parking on the street adjacent to the strip mall. The owner is very warm, positive and friendly. She is so sweet and actually makes it a pleasure to pick up your dry cleaning. Five stars. read more

Regency cleaners saved my Kate Spade purse! I was traveling back to LA from Vegas by bus, when the girl behind me spilled her ENTIRE pink soda while we were parked, causing a rush of pink liquid to flood my feet - and soak my fabric purse. Horrible! I looked up best cleaners in LA and found Regency. They sent my purse out. Cost $28 (not cheap, not too expensive). and it was SAVED! considering I bought the purse at an outlet and could not afford a replacement, this was fantastic!! I really appreciate their service and their advice to buy Scotchguard and spray the purse as soon as it was clean. (which I promptly did). I was skeptical at the high reviews, but I can confirm that these people are not just good cleaners, but first class human beings in general. Due to their consistently stellar customer service ethic, they could honestly ruin what I brought them and I would understand. Once I dropped off a white silk tie for stain removal. When I came to pick it up they asked if I would allow them a few days to try and do a better job, because they weren't satisfied with the results. I have to say that my wedding dress was here at Regency when the fire broke out and my dress was lost. I am happy though, they had insurance, I was refunded, and at least no one got hurt. I am so happy they are open again and they are doing great. The owners are so nice and friendly. I love them. Everyone should take their clothes to Regency Cleaners. I had my husbands Martial Arts top and pants hemmed here and it was perfect. This is the best alterations job I have ever seen. Perfect and they sewed the seams back to the way it originally looked. Been going here for a while, this will be my last. I had a $60 mix of launder/dry cleaning that I picked up. Got home, removed the plastic, and all the clothes absolutely stank of chemicals. I'm not talking about the light flowery smell of most dry cleaning.. These shirts smelled horrible. I tried wearing one, and even letting them air out, but I can't help but feel sick wearing anything from this batch. Now my whole closet smells too. I read online that this may be caused by not changing the solvent they use in dry cleaning, or by not filtering it properly. Will never use this cleaner again, now I have to spend another $60 somewhere else to fix their mistake. read more

Regency Cleaners, I'm your 100th reviewer! Booyah! These folks are great. I usually bring them my work clothes (dress shirts and pants), but they have also shortened my jeans and waterproofed my snowboarding stuff. Everything has been great, no major complaints, and best of all, their prices are super affordable. They have 10-minute parking in front, but if all of those are taken, I park at the Rite-Aid on the next block over. I like to pretend it's illegal because it makes me feel like a badass. Convenience has very little to do with it. read more

I have to agree with the other Yelpists here... this place is great until it isn't. Have always had good experiences with the basics here and have even gotten some good service for small fixes like buttons. And then it happened. I went to pick up a sweater and there was a tear in the front of it. One owner (the husband) agreed to try and fix it. They did. it looks awful. There is not just a big square sewn area. I tried to say that I would not pay for it and asked for a refund. The other owner (wife) became quite irate with me. She went from being incredibly friendly and nice (even carrying dry cleaning out to my car at times to say hi to my dog friendly!) to raising her voice at me. She then stopped speaking English and said that there was a language barrier. I would have to speak with her husband from then on. He apparently always 'has just left' whenever I am hoping to get this resolved. Sadly not the experience you want to have when believing in a local business. An expensive sweater lost and an angry encounter with a person I believed to be very sweet and nice. Enjoy the fair prices and service at your risk, knowing that a problem is lurking... I feel bad writing this review because the woman who works there is so nice, and literally squeezed my hand one day when I was walking out the door, telling me to "be very careful in the heat wave." I just moved to LA and only started going to Regency a few weeks ago, since they're so close to my house, and they had decent reviews on yelp. I've only been 3 times and here's my experience thus far: 1. not once has my stuff been ready when they said it would be, meaning that I always have to visit again a couple days later. 2. I recently asked them to repair a hole in my skirt and clean 2 silk garments. Came the following week, and only 1 of the silk garments was cleaned and ready. Came back a few days later, only to walk back to my car and notice the hole in the skirt had not even been touched (after I paid for it) and the other silk garment still had a stain on it. So today will be the third time I am returning there for the same set of pieces I dropped off two weeks ago. Fine place to go if you don't mind going back over and over again to check whether or not your items are ready, because the pick-up time listed on their receipts is completely unreliable. read more

This was the worst dry cleaning experience ever. Dropped some of my favorite articles of clothing off and needed them in time for a business trip. Went in when they were supposed to be ready and they didn't know where they were. They said they needed 3 hours to look for them but that they would not be cleaned. So I had to go back 3 hours later to pick up my DIRTY clothes. I had a to get a suit dry cleaned for my biz meeting the next day, because my Nancy put her wet paws all over them this morning. The only time I had was during lunch and when I went in and explained how important it was to get this by the end of the day, they delivered. I go to the dry cleaners once maybe twice a year to get my tux and a sport coat cleaned so I'm not a dry cleaner aficionado but I do know when something is clean. I used to go to Vamco and they did a nice job but it was expensive and I hate the location. Regency was fast, nice, right down the street from my house and they were cheap. They even asked if they could keep my sport coat one more day to work on a tough stain on the sleeve, no extra charge. read more

This review is long overdue. Ever since ownership changed 1-2 years ago, I have had terrible experiences. I would not recommend this place to anyone as the new owners have ruined several of my items and not acknowledged their mistakes. A button on one my pants was smashed so the pants would no longer button. One of my scarves was ripped. They did not admit to ruining my items and blamed me. Why and how would I do that to my clothing if I gave it to them to dry clean? They were very rude and did not even provide me with a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I'm happy to go out of my way to come here because I can trust them. The dry cleaning experience is great. BUT, I took my husbands favorite distressed jeans. They have two tears which are part of the design. My husband got a tear area near the the crouch. I took them in to get patched and I was very clear to only patch up the tear near the crotch. I even repeated two or three times to the lady owner and she took notes. When I went to pick em up she patched all of the tears!!! Ruining the look of the jeans, AND she still charged me for the one patch I originally wanted. She blamed her 'counter partner' saying they didn't write it down, when she was the one that attended me! Not cool. Not coming here again :( read more

This place is awful. Things are never ready when they're supposed to be, and even when you go back a second time, most of your clothes are still visibly stained. If you point this out, the owner (the guy, not the woman) will argue with you and try to intimidate you into paying anyway. I have literally never received anything back from this place 100% clean. The last time I brought something in, it was an egg yolk stain on a shirt. When I came to pick it up, the stain was still there. I pointed it out and was told that it was a glue stain and they couldn't get it out. When I told them it was, in fact, egg, they ARGUED WITH ME telling me it was a type of glue stain that was impossible to remove. The owner finally took the shirt in back and scrubbed it harshly with water (!), bringing it back with a giant wet mark and telling me the stain was gone. Not only was the stain still there, but the weave of the shirt was completely frayed and ruined from his scrubbing. When I pointed out that the shirt was ruined, the owner told me to "prove it." (?!) I've never had such unprofessional service. This place is a joke. read more

So...they did an amazing job on my sweaters BUT completely ruined a 200 shirt!!!! The leather on the back was all torn up. I get that mistakes happen but they tried to say that it was already torn!! Are you kidding??? They did say that they would go down to the fashion district to fix it but with the way they were acting I didn't even want to leave it there. Wow. I have been here a few times and there's always been great service and they always do a great job. But this time I brought in a black wool coat that was covered in lint, cat hair, and fibers from a straw-like throw rug I have in my apartment. On top of that there were a few stains on the coat. I didn't expect all of the lint and hair to come out since the wool is textured and seems too tedious a task. But when I got the coat back it looked brand new!!!!! Holy shit. This place it totally amazing. I was yelling wow wow wow when I saw it and the owner came out to tell me that everyone in the shop had took turns taking the lint out. And then gave me a big hug. Brought in a blanket to be dry cleaned on Thursday and was told it would be $18 and ready on Saturday afternoon. I showed up Saturday afternoon to find out they hadn't even started cleaning it and they could have it done by Tuesday. The lady told me her husbands father just died (if so my condolences) which is why they didn't do it. Sounds like a "dog ate my homework" excuse. They could have done some customer service and called me to tell me, considering I needed it done by Saturday. I've been looking for a dry cleaners in the downtown area for over a year,. I wanted a place that did a good job and was not too expensive. After some research on yelp, I found Regency Cleaners. I went there for the first time on September 4th. It was hot, and I was a little grouchy. But the owner, Jenny, was friendly, accommodating, nice, upbeat, and considerate. It was 105 degrees, and she was still gracious and bubbly. I left 7 pieces to be dry cleaned and one piece for alterations. I also left with a smile on my face, her attitude is infectious. I returned on September 10th, to pick up my clothes. To my disbelief, the business had burned down. I returned on September 16th, to pick up my claim form. It broke my heart to see Jenny and her husband. They were so apologetic. They told me how to submit my claim and we hugged each other. They said they hope to rebuild and asked me to come back as a customer. It sucked for me, but devastating for them. I lost a few pieces of clothing, but they lost their whole life's work. They really touched me. Even though I was never technically a "customer", since it was my first visit, I will definitely return for the re-opening. read more
