I have been a customer of I&A cleaners for 2 years now. I have had zero problems with their services (dry cleaning and alterations). Everyone here is very nice; they even know me by name! Pros: They are open 7 days a week! It's a small family run business with great service. They even offer alterations on the weekend and have been able to make a quick fix for me before. The location is great with plenty of I&A customer parking. Cons: it's pricey for dry cleaning (However, I'm happy with the quality. Plus, rents are rising in the neighborhood and we've lost a lot of local businesses recently so it's understandable.) I highly recommend. read more

(Picked-Up 08/12/13 M @ 2:00pm): I think I may have been taken to the cleaners... Although I had my favorite dry cleaners in Glendale for all my clothes, I wanted to support the local neighborhood, so I randomly selected I & A Cleaners solely because my familiarity with them being close to Good Microbrew & Grill. So I was watching a friend's dog while she and her family were out of town. Bugsy was usually a chill dog and offered no problems, but he had a "dark accident" one day and it was all over the cream-colored couch slip cover and pillow cases! Eff me!!! After every attempt was made to clean up the brown mess, the couch still looked like a spotted cow had died in my living room! I loaded the blotchy carcass of pelt into the Toaster and hauled it down to have it washed. Here was how the pricing broke out: Couch Cover ($44.00) and Pillow Cases (set of 4 - $22.50) - Yes, kind of pricey, right!? To be fair, these were disgustingly filthy, so any washing was an improvement. When you considered smeared crap on a white canvass, I was relieved to not have to bear witness to that visual ever again. I was forewarned not all stains would come out. But I wasn't warned about the potential of everything shrinking (more than a 14-inch all around based on the couch frame), which they did. Once home, it was like cramming a size 16 woman into a size 2 slinky fitted dress - it just ain't gonna happen, and it it did the results weren't pretty. (My apologies to all women out there; trying to paint a visual picture and just doesn't work the same if I were to use a man). Service - Overall, everyone I dealt with was very kind, helpful and informative. When the items were first dropped off and explained exactly what happened, I was given a plethora of information as to what can feasibly be done and an ETA when they could be picked up. They were completely upfront on expectations. They called on the initial pick up date to say they needed more time, which was fine with me. The items were ready when I went to pick them up. Parking - They shared a lot with several other businesses within a small outdoor strip mall at the corner of Lucile Ave. and Sunset Blvd. Otherwise, there was metered street parking along the main drag of Sunset Blvd. and most side streets were resident-permit parking so please be mindful of all posted street signs. Also, there were nearby paid makeshift lots in the area. Thank goodness I lived in the area. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - This was a very spacious establishment with plenty of conveyor belts behind the counter where all of the cleaned and laundered items were hung like slabs of meat. Once you entered, the alteration area was to your right. I didn't recall any seats, TVs nor background music. The service/price menu was up on the wall above the counter. Plenty of natural lighting shown through the front windows. Attire - It was totally casual so I was in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I hoped to never have to get couch slip covers and pillow cases dry-cleaned ever again, but if I did sadly I wouldn't use I & A Cleaners again. Truth be told, the couch was ghetto-cheap but it was a bitch trying to get the cushions back in and now doesn't fit the frame. I felt there was no reason to try and get some kind of resolution if I called them. It's not like they were going to miraculously stretch it out and I wasn't interested in credit back. I found minimal value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (the total bill was around $65.00; no tip required), but I felt the prices were exorbitant not only on these items (granted, I had no frame of reference other than my research after I dropped them off) but across the board. Highly disappointed in the service and the results from my dry cleaning , I took 2 very simple items to get dry cleaned a vintage jacket and a black pair of jeans. My vintage members only jacket got clean but has a stain it didn't have before and my black jeans totally faded. I do not understand the space alien-created pricing at this place. I had a single shirt brought in and it cost over SEVEN dollars. Not to have it dry cleaned - to have it washed. Every other cleaners in every major city charges about $2-2.50. To charge nearly three times the standard amount is beyond comprehension, and I feel like it's almost an omission for the owners not to mention that you'd be better off just buying new clothes than bringing shirts here to be laundered. Don't get me wrong the service and quality of work was EXCELLENT (they even put collar stays in my dress shirts, which was a very nice and unexpected touch) But for a city where high quality cleaners are a dime a dozen I doubt I will go back even though this place is so close to my house I could walk there with an armload of a laundry ... Oh God, Stay away from here! This place was not at all "High End" I trusted them to just DRY clean my Suits, I explained to them Hugo Boss is a bit delicate and they stated they clean it all the time. I was charged a rather high premium for each shirt and slacks figured it was ok hence the product. Come to pick up my dry clean they stated a shirt had a stain on it, ¿Stain? my job doesn't require to deal with items that can stain, and I'm sure i didn't spill anything on the shirt, well because i had just purchased this shirt. They gave me the run around for 4 weeks on how they are trying to remove this mysterious stain and they make matters worse by not even caring. They decided it was easier to tell me, come look at it and if you don't see it on the shirt then it's good to go. Well i picked it up upset, there was no refund, no store credit and to top it off, they had made the "stained" side of the shirt thin. They thinned out the shirt with all the scrubbing they did. Of course Hugo Boss will not take it back or exchange it, and the shirt is NOT wearable. There went $250.00 down the drain for the shirt and $25.00 for the dry cleaning of the shirt. I've used many cleaners in the neighborhoods of Los Feliz and Silverlake, and have lived in Silverlake all of my life (approx. 50 years), and I&A is the best, consistent experience I've had with any cleaners in the neighborhood, by far. I've been using them for about 2 years now and take full advantage of their free pick-up/delivery service. Very convenient. Sure you pay a little more per item on average, but you get what you pay for. Excellent and thorough care of your clothes, and extraordinary customer service! What I find a amusing about all of the complaints regarding what they charge, is I'd bet that these same people think nothing of routinely spending $10 on a cup of coffee at Intelligencia or $35 (per person) on coffee and finger foods LA Mill or even $100 on a second-hand pair of jeans. DO NOT GO HERE!! I brought my 300$ graduation dress here and paid 90 dollars for alterations. The zipper seemed weird when they had me try it on after the alterations, and they didn't say anything. Then, I went to put my dress on on graduation day and it became clear that the zipper had gotten caught in the sewing machine and bent, and they never replaced it. I was in tears as I had to be literally cut out of my beautiful dress. I was so angry that I couldn't even go back there to yell at them! Crazy (crazy, crazy) expensive, but two nice things: 1. Dude asked me up front if I wanted to know the prices. Glad he did. I ended up only leaving two shirts to be cleaned, but if I'd left all my dry cleaning (~10 items) without knowing the prices it woulda cost upwards of $100 (crazy, crazy, like I said). 2. They put new collar stays in the aforementioned shirts. Nice touch, but not worth a bazillion dollars. 3. Went in here this morning with a bit of an emergency - needed to basically get a pair of pants dry cleaned within 30 minutes to remove a water stain before heading to the airport. The gentleman who helped me was incredible-- calm, reassuring-- and told me to come back in exactly 30 minutes. And so I did- and he got the job done. I don't need dry cleaning too often but whenever I do, I bring it here, and have always been super pleased with the experience. read more

Never take anything here to be hemmed!!!! They ruined a bridemaids dress I took to be shortened. The bottom was uneven and snagged. I had to take it to another tailor to be fixed and buy new shoes (two inches shorter) so the new tailor would have a bit of fabric to work with. The woman at I&A took $8 off for messing it up. Thanks for only charging me $40 to ruin my $350 dress instead of $48. Much appreciated :/ It's too bad becuase I live so close but I will never take anything here again! read more

I don't have the need for dry cleaning very often and when I do it is always at the last minute with me in "emergency mode". They have always accommodated me and rushed my clothes through right away. I have also had zippers replaced and pants hemmed there. They did a great job at both and at really reasonable prices. read more

I wish I could give 2 1/2 stars It would be more accurate I give them 5 stars for service and O stars for price, They are beyond EXPENSIVE!!! $9 dollars for a shirt and $14.50 dollars for a really light weight sweatshirt are you kidding me,! if you need 5-6 things cleaned a week it would be about $300 a month... A DOINGYOING YOING!!!! F that!! to be fair the cleaning quality and the turnaround time is great. I like the people too but I like money more. You can get the same quality at any number of places in the neighborhood for half the price and there is as little cleaners just down the street ( in the Baskin and Robbins parking lot ) that only charges 2.25 per item. to be fair the attention to detail and turnaround time is not as fast but if your just having your work shirts cleaned, like I am, saving $7 per shirt is well worth it. Awesome menders. I recently brought my vintage fur coat in here to to mended. It had a pretty large rip in one of the seems. I had taken it to a few others repair places and nobody would even touch it because it was fur AND vintage. Then somebody suggested i try this place and i couldn't be happier. They did an absolutely awesome repair job within about 24 hours, and the also reheeled my favourite cowboy boots while they were at it which they also did a great job of. Total was about $35 which i thought was perfectly fair, especially since they were the only people in town confident enough to take this job on. Will definitely come here again. Maybe next time i'll bring my dry cleaning in here to see what all the fuss is about! read more

They have done a nice job on everything I've brought in. But their best features are the parking lot and friendly service. I'm known to complain about the cost of dry cleaning and laundering shirts in LA, as compared to my experiences in NY. It is certainly more expensive here - but this place brings it to a new, unreasonable level. After moving to Silver Lake in February, from West Hollywood, I've tried a handful a cleaners. Convenience is important and I'm willing to pay a little extra for it. In West Hollywood, I became a regular at Holloway, despite their high prices, because I can work long hours and they were always open when I needed to go. But I cannot come to I&A anymore unless I'm really stuck. They charge $4+ a shirt for laundry and pressing, which is higher than the price list. I was told that's because most of my shirts are fitted and they claim they don't fit on the press (holloway always managed, but whatever)... however, they charge that price for the non-fitted shirts i bring too. The final straw though was when I picked up a suit last week and saw that they charged $25 to dry clean it. $25! That is criminal. Seriously, I would come here if I had something that needed special care, but anyone that relies on a dry cleaner/ laundry for regular work wear needs to find some place with a grip on reality. read more

Simply the best quality. Period. Friendly, same-day service. Of course, all this is at a pretty steep price, like $8.50 for a pair of slacks. If your clothes are average to good quality, someplace else might do fine. For challenging stains, your finest clothes and ties, come to I & A. (They don't press neck ties, btw, like inexperienced cleaners do. It ruins quality ties by harming the silk and leaving a flat, shiny lifeless tie.) I tried to pay 5 dollars, something, even offered to buy her a juice from the store next door while she worked on it. With a bright smile, she refused any sort of payment, merely asking me to come back for dry cleaning services when I needed them. What excellent customer service!
