First let me say, I've never written a bad review about any place since today. So I really wanted to like this place since I moved here a year ago. This was the first Jamaican restaurant that I tried, just because it was called Reggae Jerk. You would think that the Jerk had to be a specialty here. So after I trying the jerk chicken, I was TOTALLY wrong. The chicken was very BLAND!!! Now, I'm a person that LOVES jerk chicken. Probably one of my favorite Jamaican dishes. And I'm Jamaican. So, a coworker today mentioned ordering food from here today for lunch. I said to myself that since I was in the mood for jerk chicken, let me give it another try. Maybe I just got a batch of bad chicken initially. Well, let's just say that I tasted a piece of chicken, and again, same BLANDDDD unseasoned chicken that was grilled, and they might've just put some watered down bbq sauce on it. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I beg you to please season your chicken. Walkerswood is a great jerk seasoning. And let it marinate overnight. My lunch is now in the garbage. If I paid full price for this, I would've drove there myself to get my refund. But thank god it was a lunch special. And to make matters worse, I tried to enjoy the rice which was cooked perfect except for the fact that the scotch bonnet pepper must've burst while cooking so the rice was extra spicy smh. Reggae Jerk, I'm sorry but you need to step it up or get a new chef. Hopefully your other menu items taste better. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The employees were absolutely terrible. I called ahead to ask if they were open and she told me they were open and would be open for another 2 hours, even though the website said they were supposed to be open until 10. We drove 20 minutes to get to this place. We walk in and there's a woman behind the counter who gives us the meanest, ugliest look as if our presence disgusted her. So my sister asked if they're closed, because why else would she look at us like that, and she says no they're open. Another woman strolled out of the back and comes to the counter and asks what we want. Very rudely, as if she just wanted us to hurry up and go. My sister orders the oxtails and I order the snapper. I ask, "can I have the stewed snapp-" and before I can even finish the question, she's shaking her head saying "No. The snapper is made to order." Yes, made to order and I'm ordering it. She shakes her head and just says no, like she's refusing to make it, with no explanation. We just turned around and left. We never even had the chance to try to food and were eager to try it because my family owns a car dealership near there and we're searching for a Carribean place to use for customer and employee appreciation events. But after that display, this place won't get any of my money or my family's money. They just lost out on a major deal because they have horrible customer service. Smh. read more

Curry goat and oxtail were fair, actually kinda disappointed on curry goat. Couldn't taste curry other than being yellowish color. However, jerk chicken was one of the best I ever had. Packed with flavor a must try dish. read more

Jerk wings must have been the bomb because they were out when we ordered. So we settle on the Jerk Chicken and the Jerk Pork. The chicken was served cold and / or at room temperature, but well seasoned - a little too smokey for my taste and not as spicy as I would like. They should keep the food hot. The pork had few tender morsels and few dry morsels it was serve hot. Overall, the food was okay but not great. Rice and peas was good. Cabbage was not cooked enough for my taste but flavorful. So we went there for lunch and wanted to try the Jerk wings that folk were raving about but by lunch time on a Saturday they were already sold out. Unbelievable!!! One of our favorite foods. We have been to many Jamaican restaurant in WPB. This is definitely One of the nicer Jamaican restaurant. Ordering can be confusing because it's right up-front. The menu offered a wider selection of dishes. I had the brown stew chicken, the flavor was on point but the chicken was tough and over done. There jerk chicken was OK, it tasted oven done not grilled. My hubby had the curry goat and said it's a bit salty. The cabbage salad was delicious. Everyone has their favorite restaurant. This is mine. The entrees are refreshingly crisp and full of flavors. Each item ordered gets better with every bite leaving you wanting more no matter how full your belly gets. The guys behind the counter treat every customer as long lost friends. Dining in is an incredible experience. Service like that is rare...much love. There're times I stop by even after I've eaten at home just because I'm in the area and don't get to go as often as I'd like. My recommendation to all is to stop by there once a week and go down the entire menu until you've tried everything. My go to dishes are oxtail and curry goat (always with a Ginger Beer). However, I rarely order those here as I'm always eating something different each trip. I hope everyone finds this place to be as great as I have. I'm also hoping they'll be around for a long time so I always have a spot to sit and enjoy some of the best Jamaican cuisine I've had in my many years. This is a tiny place in a strip mall that's very unassuming. You walk in and you aren't greeted by much decor or any inviting dining area. So why the 5 stars?? The fried chicken is amazzzzing!! You get a very delicious, very generous portion along with some stewed cabbage and rice and beans. Easily enough for two to three people. I tried the brown stew chicken and that was good as well, for any aficionados. However, I'm going to stick w ordering their fried chicken anytime I happen to be in the area. OMG not sure where to start this place is beyond amazing. The staff was awesome friendly, greeting us very welcoming. I had the oxtails rice and peas the large oh my talking about plenty food. I was sooooooo much food I couldn't eat it all. The service was great. The food was soooooo good it was soooooo Fresh. It gave me just what I was looking for in Jamaican food. I never eat Caribbean food from restaurants because I'm used to Trinidadian home cooking but Reggae Jerk is the exception! The food was too good to pass up!! Great food but the WORST customer service! I have done business with this restaurant 3 times total. The first time was good, not great but good. The food was excellent so it made up for the subpar service the initial time. The second time was worse and it all started from the phone call. The first time I just went into the long wait was to be expected to be that there was a line. So from that first experience, I made sure to call ahead. The young lady they have answering the phone will rush you on the phone and ask is that it followed by an immediate hang-up. It's a 15 min drive one way from me so as I get there I don't expect a 30 min wait time UNACCEPTABLE! I will be getting my food from somewhere else from now on. If I have to go to Miami in order to have great food and equally great service so be it. I understand the power of money and I work hard for mine so I just don't invest it nor my time just anywhere! The food is good but if you want the jerk pork lunch special call first the last four times I went it was not ready. Today at 11:25 neither the chicken or the pork were ready. They have fantastic food but forget common courtesy or customer service. This place is really good. The food is fantastic but I am so sick of the women working there. They are nasty. I was told to call ahead and make sure that they had what I was going to order so I did. THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. I live 20 minutes away and tried to call twice. NO ANSWER. When I get there I see the woman on the phone talking to friends and they tell me there is no food left. It wasn't even a complete sentence. I was a nod of the head to say no. To top it all off they microwaved my food. Terrible restaurant experience. My fiancé has gave this place 2 chances, Both him and I are disappointed with the most shitty service over the phone and in person... the young lady at the front had an attitude on the phone and in person. We ordered fried chicken and jerk pork. I sent my man to pick it up he brings it to the car and his jerk pork had absolutely no meat it was pure 100% cold highly pork fat greasy and lack of jerk seasoning. My fried chicken was refrigerator cold and I went inside to ask why isn't it hot and she said "sorry we don't make it hot" wtf is that shit? It's fried chicken I'm expecting hot and fresh chicken, where's the passion in the food? Especially Jamaican food! The lack of passion shows in the food and the lack of respect the people have for customer service, they are in denial!
