What a really cool experience! Private session for my friend and I to create and customize a scented soy candle. Personalized attention, great explanations and assistance. After measuring and mixing we picked the perfect vessel for our candle to solidify and were handed a label to name it. We were also signed up for the perfume class. There were fifteen of us present, good energy, nice vibe. It was like a science lab of scents and we worked our magic. We were instructed to choose up to six oils to mix into a beaker. We played around with the scents until it smelled like something we wanted to wear. We were directed to shelves of pretty perfume bottles; some included with the price of the class and upgrades that were not. My pretty pink bottle was an upgrade. When we received our perfumer's alcohol, we poured into our bottles, gave a little shake and came up with a clever name for our signature scent. I was really hoping the owner would pop in. It's good to know that we can refill each perfume bottle and candle jar at a discounted price. I named my candle "Priceless" because the combined scents remind me of my travel experiences. My chosen name for my perfume is "Journey" because that's exactly where each note takes you. read more

Stumbled upon this experience online and I'm so thankful that I did. I had a great time and I highly recommend this one they validate for your parking if you park in the shared lot of the building this wasn't mentioned where I got the tickets from but there's various places where you can get tickets from. The staff or team were very friendly and welcoming. The energy was great. This was something new that I've never tried before and I would definitely come back again to this location to try some of the other experiences like candlemaking based on the high energy and environment. read more

My daughter gifted me with a perfume making class for my birthday. We went today and had so much fun! We parked in the 900 North parking lot ($12 with validation) and it's very conveniently located on the top floor of the mall in the back. We were the only ones in the class so we had the whole place to ourselves. Mikayla did a great job of explaining the steps and we enjoyed discovering which scents and combinations we liked. I GOT TO MAKE MY OWN CANDLE!!! They have a candle making experience right in the downtown Chicago area on the Mag Mile! I got my ticket for the class through the Fever app and loooovvveeeddd it! The environment was so relaxing and the instructor was such a sweetheart and informative about the process AND the aftercare for the candle once I got it home. you get to pick out your own candle container, oils for you scent and then it's ready in a couple of hours after you finish it. My girlfriend and I went to Reggie Hathorn in October for her Birthday. The teacher was very friendly and accommodating to everyone that attended the class. She taught us about the process of making a wearable fragrance. The selection of fragrances from the top, middle and bottom notes were great. We were able to pick and choose which were great for our own fragrances. We were also able to submit our fragrance that we created into a cloud so we can refill our bottles at any time. Such a fun activity to do! We came as a party of 4 and the instructor was so helpful and fun. They gave us PLENTY of time to pick our scent (which is a very overwhelming task). They even asked what kind of music we wanted to listen to. The vessel we got to pick was so beautiful. The selection of scents and jars is amazing. Black owned business! Let's just start there. My boyfriend planned this romantic, private candle making date for my birthday and it was led by the owner, himself. Reggie is a true gem. He has an amazing story to tell when it comes to his love for candles and how it sparked a fire in him. The class was also byob so we were able to drink wine that we brought, but they offer wine, water and I believe tea. I learned so much about the candle making process that I had no idea about. I've been burning candles for quite some time and after this class, I feel like I can tell a good quality candle from a bad one. I have told many friends about this business and they will NOT be disappointed. Our candles smelled amazing and burned beautifully! PS. My friend took me and my twin sister here for a bday gift. It's space in same building as Bloomingdale's. Easy enough to get to and park. We went on a Friday after work. The instructor was so nice and informative, can't remember her name. We were able to pick out our candle jars from their collection and choose from a pretty large assortment of scents. They provide wine, soft drinks or water during the experience and set a cool mood with brining their own candles and playing music. The only others with us was a couple on a date. It felt very private. The only downside was having to go back and pick up our candles after they set for a couple of hours. Because we went at the time of the last session, there wasn't time to go back the same night to pick them up. However, they do offer shipping, but I don't know the cost of that option. We LOVED our experience at RH! My 14-year old son and I are both big cologne/perfume lovers and I thought it would be a fun and creative outlet for him outside of his sports and other school-related activities and for us to spend some good mom/son quality time. Alana (sp?) led our class and since it was a Thursday afternoon during spring break, there were only six of us which allowed her to give us tons of attention and help with choosing our respective scents. The studio and atmosphere is lovely, Alana was very well-versed in all things scents and how they go together, and the process itself was overall really fun! Yesterday I was lucky enough to have a first date with a friend and we took a candle making class it was amazing! There was only one other couple there with us, so it was very intimate, and I loved that. It was real opportunity to know who I was with. The smells were amazing I can't wait to go back for the perfume making class. There is a 90-minute wait for the candles to set so I came back yesterday so that I had a 2nd opportunity to go back and fall in love with the business all over again. I took this visit to purchase his book and to look into scheduling a private party for friends in the New Year.
