    10/01/2025: I purchased a Gregory weight=7-ounces, 3-liter Hydro Bladder--BPA/PVC Free!

10/01/2025: I purchased a Gregory weight=7-ounces, 3-liter Hydro Bladder--BPA/PVC Free! BTW: I've been wanting purchasing a super lightweight Hydro Bladder for years; however, the majority of previous Hydro Bladders manufactured possessed BPA AND PVC. . . Equating, I had no choice but, play the waiting game until, finally--Gregory manufactured a three-liter Hydro Bladder which only weighs seven-ounces plus, the Manufacturer's Hydro Bladder modernization is now BPA/PVC Free! Win, win for lightweight traversing, i.e., I plan using the Gregory three-liter Hydro Bladder hiking due to only weighing seven-ounces; less weight schlepping stuff inside my Pacsafe 35-liter backpack.

Merrell slip on shoe, good fit but tread wears out fast.

This is the closest REI to me, but since I'm down in the Sac area often, no biggie to drop on in. I've been a REI member for like forever as long as I can remember. NO dues or anything, like Costco! I like the return policy here, no time limit returns! This comes in handy with shoes. You gotta try them if you're buying hiking boots and just walking around the store isn't gonna let you know about the long term, like do I get blisters? I purchased Merrell walking moc shoes, cause they were slip on and I don't have to worry about tying laces all the time. They fit the best out of all the different ones I tried on here at the store. The sales people are super friendly and helpful and yes, patient! Well, these shoes work out at first but I noticed the tread on the bottom wearing down fast, way faster than 2 months of casual wear should be, not like I was doing 12 mile walks everyday! These shoes were $100.00! I brought the shoes back to the store and showed them and they looked up when I purchased them and said they can give me a refund or I could choose another pair of shoes. I love the return policy here, customer satisfaction! OK, I just got my money back and I'll think about another model of shoe. There's cheaper shoes that might work better. I'll keep coming to REI for the service and return policy!

Ariana is the Best Sales Person. My husband was looking for a backpack and also debating on a traveling duffel bag! The Nemo Double Handle duffel bag - 55L. She sold us on the duffel bag. We think the duffel bag will be better usage than the backpack such a better value. She explained she had the same one and has used it numerous times while flying. Quincey checked us out at the register and he was super helpful, friendly and liked he enjoyed his job! We being Senior Citizens, he showed us how to use Apple Pay at the register! Thank you Ariana and Quincey! Both of you are Definitely a Plus to REI! Kudos "please" to Ariana and Quincey!

First time to this REI location. It's huge and the store is gorgeous! Lots of parking, easy to find, right off the freeway by Cal Expo. I was able to find and buy exactly what I was looking for by myself. The store is very nicely merchandised and they have a huge selection at every department. I am not an outdoorsy person, and I go to REI from time to time to buy presents for family and friends. I am obviously judged from the moment I walk in and I can't tell if it's their corporate cool culture that teaches every single employee to never smile or offer assistance or maybe it's just me because I am not the REI type?? Anyway, it makes me uncomfortable every time. And not welcome. They are like efficient robots and I wish they would be helpful and warm. Tip: They sell National Parks Passes here!

I haven't been here in years. It's a big store. My wife was looking for a new travel backpack. I looked for reviews online and noticed they had 2 of them here. It is always better to see stuff in person so you know what you are getting. The two brands they had were not what she wanted. I'm so glad we tried them out so we knew right away these packs wouldn't work for her. The place is clean and has a lot of gear.

Recreational Equipment Inc aka REI has everything you need outdoors! Snowboarding, Ski, biking, running, camping, you name it... REI has what you're looking for. The hubs and I came in so that he can purchase bindings for his snowboard. For the most part they are out of a lot of things. The store is clean, but they are sold out of a lot of winter sports items, just FYI. The customer service was great. As soon as we walked up, someone helped us and sold him the only bindings left in the store. We were even able to get them installed within 20 minutes. I would highly recommend REI if you're looking for quality products at a price that matches the quality.

The largest REI in the area. The store and the parking lot can get very crowded on weekends.

During my lunch, I've been taking my bike to various bike shops around the midtown Sacramento area to browse around and ask general cycling questions or assistance with my bike if I feel like something doesn't feel right. Overall, my experience with various shops have been just okay. I would get the feeling that because I do not have an expensive bike, that I'm looked at differently. However, with Pacos, the staff here are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I brought my bike in with some concerns regarding my gears shifting, and Pancho took my bike onto the rack to inspect it. I was prepared to be given a diagnosis and perhaps a quote to see how much they would charge if I had them fix/adjust it for me. Instead, Pancho just took it upon himself to make these micro adjustments himself and even identified that my front derailleur was crooked and my front wheel was loose. Again, Pancho just made those adjustments himself to make sure everything was properly before I left the store. On top of that, I was not charged a dime. Totally unexpected, but highly appreciated! Fast forward to my second time coming to this shop, I was greeted by different staff. Yet, it was still the same high, friendly energy as the last time. Ayrton was there to assist and help me identify and issue I was having with my brakes. The way he spoke to me and went above and beyond to find answers he himself didn't know was much appreciated. Ayrton is a very friendly and outgoing guy and made sure I was taken care of before I left. The culture and energy of the staff here have been a fantastic experience and I highly recommend any cyclist to visit this store! Their inventory was impressive, the store is spacious and clean, and if I ever need cycling services, I am definitely coming back.

I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.
